Two dates hav to go to database

[FONT=Georgia][SIZE=3][COLOR=DarkGreen]
hi to all
here is my doubt
my program is to do like this
1.in the program there is a start date and end date, when we select the two dates it has to go to the database.
2.in database there is a table called holidays,entered star and end dates has to go there and to verify that the dates are in there, if the dates are available means it has to tel that particular day is holiday r sunday r satuday.
for example:
if i am entering 5days(1,2,3,4,5)
it has to go to database and to see whether these days are in saturday, sunday, r any public holiday.
if it is in holiday means it has to tel that 1,4,5 is not in holidays
remaining 2,3 are holidays
here is the java code

I'm a little confused about your requirements, but I'm going to attempt to answer the question that I think you're asking. Basically, Date1, Date2, Date3, Date4, and Date5 are consecutive days in a calendar. You have a table called Holiday which holds holidays and weekends as dates. You want to know if any of your dates are in the Holiday table.
You can
1. Write a query to ask for all Holidays between Date1 and Date5. Compare the results to your entry set using iteration, and print out the differences.
2. Iteratively query whether Date1 is in Holiday, and if it is add it to your own holidayList. If it isn't, add it to your own nonHolidayList.
Approach 1 will be better for performance, but I can't tell if this is a professional application. If it is, you need to consider writing a persistence layer to interact with the database.

    Hello,
    Is it possible to have two DADs that access the same database?
    One DAD would be password protected with Authentication mode Per Package and the other DAD would not require a password/login
    If it is possible can you also give suggestions about how to do this

    Yes. You can specify two datafiles in one control file and can load using sql loader.
    I give you the sample control file.
    Load DATA
    INFILE 'TEST1.CSV'
    INFILE 'TEST2.CSV'
    TRUNCATE
    INTO TABLE TEST_P
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY "," OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
    TRAILING NULLCOLS

  • How can I reference records outside the two date parameters?

    Hi all,
    I have a query that fetches records based on the two date parameters defined (Startdate and Enddate).
    If the Startdate is 2014-12-01 and the Enddate is 2014-12-12, I want to pull records outside these two date parameters, that is      2014-09-01 and 2014-11-30.
    I want to add up the records from  2014-09-01 and 2014-11-30 and include them in one of the columns in my report.
    I tried using this query:
     SUM(CASE WHEN FilteredIncident.Statuscodename IN ('QUEUED', 'ASSIGNED') AND (EnteredOn >= '2014-09-01' AND EnteredOn<= @StartDate) THEN 1 ELSE 0 END) AS OpenRecords
    Please help with any ideas..thanks

    Please follow basic Netiquette and post the DDL we need to answer this. Follow industry and ANSI/ISO standards in your data. You should follow ISO-11179 rules for naming data elements. You should follow ISO-8601 rules for displaying temporal data. We need
    to know the data types, keys and constraints on the table. Avoid dialect in favor of ANSI/ISO Standard SQL. And you probably need to read and download the PDF for:
    https://www.simple-talk.com/books/sql-books/119-sql-code-smells/
    There is no such crap as a “status_code_name” in RDBMS. It has to be a “<something in particular>_status”; think about how silly that data element name is! Want to keep going and have a “status_code_name_value_id”? LOL!
    The name “Filtered_Incident” is also wrong. Tables are sets, so unless you have only one element in this set, the table name should be a plural or (better) collective name. But a better question is why  did you split out “Filtered_Incidents” from “Incidents”?
    Would you also split “Male_Personnel” and “Male_Personnel” from “Personnel”?
    Get a book on data modeling and learn some basics.

    Having no DDL and no sample data makes this hard. Does your boss make you program without any documentation, DDL, etc? This spec is vague; you say to do a total, but show a count, etc.
    One of the many nice things about DATE data types is that the BETWEEN predicate works with them, so you can quite writing 1960's BASIC predicates with primitive logic operators.
    Here is a guess:
    SELECT SUM(CASE WHEN incident_date BETWEEN '2014-09-01'
               AND @report_start_date THEN 1 ELSE 0 END)
           AS open_record_cnt
      FROM Incidents
     WHERE incident_status IN ('QUEUED', 'ASSIGNED')
        AND incident_date <= @report_end_date;

  • How to call two data blocks at a time.

    hi all
    i want to call two data blocks at a time on function when button pressed.
    how can I it?
    many thanks

    Many thanks that you people reply,
    I am working in oracle form developer 6i and database 10g.
    I have a form that have three data blocks,
    first block have text boxes and search button,and next two blocks display records on the basis of search criteria that is inserted in the first block and when is clicked on save button.
    the data that is to b displayed is from two different tables.
    i used Go_block('my_block')
    and call other block with the same method.
    kindly guide me how can i do it.
    Thanks in advance

  • How to query two data blocks simultaneously?

    Dear all,
    Need your inputs on the following problem statement...
    Existing Functionality:
    We have two data blocks A (Parent) and B (Child) in a relationship. Both data blocks refer to different tables.
    Data block A is the query data block and for a single record in block A we can have multiple records in block B. Multiple records in block B are shown one at a time after executing a query, this is implemented by using a list item C (belongs to a third block).
    For example
    Let us say block B can have 5 different types of entries for each record in block A. In this case the list item C will have 5 values corresponding to these entries. Once the query is executed, block B will show the default entry for the queried record in block A. To see other entries for the record user can select the required value in list item C and corresponding entry in block B will be fetched.
    Requirement:
    Our requirement now is to enable querying upon both data blocks A and B simultaneously. To implement this I replaced data blocks A and B with a single data block X which is based on the join of the two tables referred by the Data blocks A and B earlier. As the fields should allow insert, update, delete operations we did not use a view here.
    Issue:
    Now the problem is, each record in block A for which block B had multiple entries earlier is now getting listed multiple times because of the join.
    I have tried but could not find any solution for this. I would appreciate if any of you can suggest how we can query both blocks simultaneously without affecting the existing functionality.
    Thanks,
    Amit

    I don't understand your requirement in detail. I try to repeat what i understood so far.
    You have a master-block A based on a table A and a detail-block B based on a table B. So far so good. You can now query based on conditions just the datablock A, because B is a detail and therefore can only be queryied in context of block A.
    Your reuirement is to query on both blocks A and B and find block in B also without giving conditions for the relevant block A.
    Is it that ?
    What i don't understand, what is block C used for?
    An idea for the querying of block B's data: Create Non-database-items items in block A for the search-criteria you need on block B and make them Queryable.
    In the PRE-QUERY-trigger on block A build a WHERE-condition if that search-criteria is entered, something like
    IF :BLOCK_A.SEARCH_CRITERIA_FOR_BLOCK_B IS NOT NULL THEN
      SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY('BLOCK_A', ONETIME_WHERE, 'WHERE PKVALUE IN (SELECT FKVALUE_TO_A FROM TABLE_B WHERE FIELDVALUE=' ||:BLOCK_A.SEARCH_CRITERIA_FOR_BLOCK_B)');
    END IF;This would query also records to A for which you want to have the B-records. So you could keep block-structure up to master-detail.

    Hi All,
    Need help from the gurus.
    Currently we are in state unable to do anything.
    Was using a database and all of a sudden it crashed. Tried to mount the database, open it, it failed. Also tried the recover and alter database open, even that failed. Errors are as follows.
    Errors in file e:\oracle\product\10.2.0 \admin\devrevdb\bdump\devrevdb_p000_2620.trc:

    In my spfile, the administrator has set only two control files and there is no mirroring and hence do not have another control file that will help me boot the db.
    Please let me know how I should go about it. I am only a timebeing person trying to carryout a db activity. Any help would be of great help.

    Hemant,
    thanks for the reply.
    I tried the way you suggested and it threw an error.
    ORA-01145: offline immediate disallowed unless media recovery enabled
    I searched and found that an additional tag of drop needs to be added to the command which you suggested.
    ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE '<filename>' OFFLINE DROP.
    i don't know what will the drop command have an effect ?
    i have copied the data file to another location. Since i don't know much, i just want to be sure of what im doing.
    if the above command is successfull, will it drop the datafile or the tablespace and i can no more use it. How can i use the copied datafile.
    Thanks,

  • How do you work out the number of days difference between two dates?

    I'm running Crystal v12.
    We use a date field in our SQL database that we use to store the client's year end date.
    As the year end date (date and month) doesn't change for a client, the year end date field in all of our reports is set to just show the DD/MM part. Over the years as new clients are set up we just enter the date and month - the year part is irrelevant although as in all date fields the year is automatically entered.
    Doing it this way means that we don't have to adjust the year end year part each year. We just use the DD/MM part.
    I need to create a formula that works out the number of days there have been (i.e. the difference) from the current date to the year end date. It MUST EXCLUDE the year however.
    For example:
    Year End Date = 30/04/03
    Current Date = 25/05/10
    Days Difference (EXCLUDING year) = 25
    Days Difference (including year) = 2582
    Year End Date = 31/03/09
    Current Date = 25/05/09
    Days Difference (EXCLUDING year) = 55
    Days Difference (including year) = 420
    If you include the year part then working out day difference is simply a case of creating a formula that subtracts the year end date from the current date (CurrentDate - {tblClient.YearEnd}.
    HOWEVER I need to exclude the year part.
    Can anyone tell me the formula or best way to do this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    You can try this
    datevar e := date(year(currentdate),month({tblClient.YearEnd}),day({tblClient.YearEnd}));
    numbervar num_days := datediff("d",currentdate,e)
    Create a datevar called e that uses the original month and day numbers for {tblClient.YearEnd} but uses the year of the current date
    Then just datediff on e to get the number of days between the two dates
    I hope i understand your problem and that this helps
    Best regards

  • How to substract two date&time values

    Well,i just need to substract last visited date&time value from systemdate. The last visited date&time(from the filed named SONBULUNMAZAMANI, ) is selected from table (IHALE_KATILIMCILAR ) in the format DD-MM-RRRR HH24:MI and systemdate is in the same format. And i need to get value in minutes. Then i need to check if the value is greater then 20 minutes, finally i will update database and set IHALE_KATILIMCILAR.AKTIF=0. Here is the code i used;
    DECLARE
    MinDiff number;
    DateTime1 ihale_katilimcilar.sonbulunmazamani%TYPE;
    BEGIN
    select t.sonbulunmazamani into DateTime1 from ihale_katilimcilar t where t.ihlkodu=141 and t.ihlaltktgkodu=132 and t.id_iliski=193;

    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('Difference is ' || MinDiff);
    END;
    However the result i get is always pointed values such as ,1895833333333333333333333333333333333333. How can i handle this?

    What version of SQLServer do you have? Datediff is not an Oracle built-in function.
    OP:
    THe difference between two dates in Oracle is in days. The decimal portion refers to partial days, so you need to convert that to the required precision. Also, both sysdate and your column are date type, and contain a time portion, so you do not need all the to_date/to_char stuff. Something like:
    SQL> SELECT end_dt, start_dt, (end_dt - start_dt) * 24*60 diff
      2  FROM (SELECT sysdate end_dt, TRUNC(sysdate) start_dt
      3        FROM dual);
    END_DT             START_DT                 DIFF
    17-mar-08 10:39:39 17-mar-08 00:00:00     639.65John

  • Date difference between two dates

    hi All,
    i have to right a stored proc to find the difference between two dates.
    for example of i give
    startdate as 4/1/2015 and enddate 14/1/2015
    i should get 1 year , 10 days and 0 months .
    i have tried the DateDiff function but it does not calculate the leap year.
    please help.

    DECLARE @from datetime
    DECLARE @to   datetime
    SET @from = '20150104  8:00'
    SET @to   = '20150114  10:30'
    SELECT DATEDIFF(minute,@from, @to) % 60 as Minutes
    SELECT (DATEDIFF(minute,@from, @to) / 60) % 24 as Hours
    SELECT DATEDIFF(minute,@from, @to) / (60 * 24) as Days
    SELECT DATEDIFF(month,@from, @to) as Months
    SELECT DATEDIFF(year,@from, @to) as Year

  • Determine posting to an asset between two dates

    Hello all,
    How do you calculate the postings made to an asset between two dates?  I looked at the logical database ADA, but got lost in the source code.
    For example, if these posting were made to an asset between start & end date, the total I would want would be $300.
    Post $200
    post $100
    post $200
    reserse the 2nd $200.
    Thanks
    Bruce

    Dear Friend,
    Its very easy, simply execute transaction SQV and follow the below steps
    Quick Viewer Screen appers
    Create a new quick view
    Give it a name, data source as table join, press enter.
    Press Shift+F1, put the table name ANEK and press enter
    Again press Shift+F1, put the table name as ANEP this time.
    Press F3 or back button
    Explode the Documnet Header and select List Filed and Selection Field check box for 1. Company Code 2. Main Asset Number, 3. Asset Sub Number,4. Fiscal Year, 5. Sequence Nuber, 6. Document Date or any other date on the basis of which you want to check the postings (e.g. posting date, entery date, asset valud date etc).
    Press Execute button and enter.
    A Report selection will appear, put the company code other parameters you have with you inclduing the date and execute again.
    This will give you all posting between particular date.
    Hope this solve your issue.
    Thanks!!!

  • BPEL with TWO data base polling adapters????

    Hi,
    Can some one tell, Is it possible to have two data base polling adapters in one BPEl process??
    What I am trying to do is , simultaneoulsy polling two independent data base tables in one bpel with two receive activities, but it did not work as BPEl should have only one start activity.
    Please post your ideas , if we can achive this.
    Thanks,
    Kumar

    So, are you trying to detect the fact that two different rows in two different tables were both inserted? If so are they related some how? Are they parent child? Is one guaranteed to appear before the other?
    I'm thinking two processes with database adapters that in turn call a third process which has two receives which are connected via a correlation set.
    Another solution would be database triggers that look for the existence of both rows before inserting into a third table -- this third table would drive the database adapter.

  • How to make search between two dates accept null not obligatory search proplem

    Hi guys when i search record between two dates it works ok success but you must enter date from and dateto first to  to make search
    i will show what i need from this example
    I need to search dynamic by 4 textbox
    1-datefrom
    2-dateto
    3-EmployeeNo
    4-EmployeeName
    but search i need must be dynamic meaning
    if i enter employee no only give me employee no found in database
    if i enter employee name give me employees found with this name using like
    if i enter all 4 text box null and enter button search get all data
    but i have proplem in this query when i need to search by click search button
    i must write date from and date to firstly then write employee no or employee name if i need to search
    so that i need to search by employee no alone or employee name alone without using date from and date to
    And if i search without using datefrom and dateto it give me message error 'string wasnot recognized as valid datetime"
    my stored procedure and code as following :
    ALTER proc [dbo].[CollectsearchData]
    @StartDate datetime,
    @EndDate datetime,
    @EmployeeID  NVARCHAR(50),
    @EmployeeName  nvarchar(50)
    as
    Begin
    Declare @SQLQuery as nvarchar(2000)
    SET @SQLQuery ='SELECT * from ViewEmployeeTest Where (1=1)'
    If (@StartDate is not NULL)
    Set @SQLQuery = @SQLQuery + ' And (joindate >= '''+ Cast(@StartDate as varchar(100))+''')'
    If (@EndDate is not NULL)
    Set @SQLQuery = @SQLQuery + ' And (joindate <= '''+ Cast(@EndDate as varchar(100))+''')'
    If @EmployeeID <>''
    Set @SQLQuery = @SQLQuery + 'And (EmployeeID = '+ @EmployeeID+') '
    If @EmployeeName Is Not Null
    Set @SQLQuery = @SQLQuery + ' AND (DriverName LIKE
    ''%'+@EmployeeName+'%'') '
    Print @sqlQuery
    Exec (@SQLQuery)
    End
    Function using
    public DataTable SearchDataA(string ConnectionString,string EmployeeNo,string EmployeeName, DateTime StartDate, DateTime EndDate)
    SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(ConnectionString);
    SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand();
    cmd.Connection = con;
    cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;
    cmd.CommandText = "CollectsearchData";//work
    cmd.Parameters.Add("@StartDate", SqlDbType.DateTime);
    cmd.Parameters.Add("@EndDate", SqlDbType.DateTime);
    cmd.Parameters.Add("@EmployeeID", SqlDbType.NVarChar, 50);
    cmd.Parameters.Add("@EmployeeName", SqlDbType.NVarChar, 50);
    cmd.Parameters["@StartDate"].Value = StartDate;
    cmd.Parameters["@EndDate"].Value = EndDate;
    cmd.Parameters["@EmployeeID"].Value = EmployeeNo;
    cmd.Parameters["@EmployeeName"].Value = EmployeeName;
    SqlDataAdapter da = new SqlDataAdapter();
    da.SelectCommand = cmd;
    DataSet ds = new DataSet();
    da.Fill(ds);
    DataTable dt = ds.Tables[0];
    return dt;
    interface button search
     try
    CultureInfo ukCulture = new CultureInfo("en-GB");
    FleetManagment.Fleet fleet = new FleetManagment.Fleet();
    DataTable Table = fleet.SearchDataA("Data Source=" + value1 + ";Initial Catalog=" + value2 + ";User ID=" + value3 + ";Password=" + value4 + "",textBox3.Text,textBox4.Text, DateTime.Parse(textBox1.Text,
    ukCulture.DateTimeFormat), Convert.ToDateTime(textBox2.Text, ukCulture.DateTimeFormat));
    dataGridView1.DataSource = Table;
    dataGridView1.Refresh();
    catch (Exception ex)
    MessageBox.Show(ex + "error");

    Yes, the below code should not be passed any value: (I am not sure of the syntax in .NET,Sorry)
    --If startdate len is 0 - do not assign this value
    cmd.Parameters["@StartDate"].Value = StartDate;
    --If endate len is 0 - do not assign this value
    cmd.Parameters["@EndDate"].Value = EndDate;

  • Demantra - can it run with two Data Models in parallel?

    Hello,
    we face the following situation: we have items that have to planned on a daily basis; many other items, however, only need weekly planning.
    Demantra only allows one base time unit in its data model. If we choose "daily" for all products, the system size will increase enormously.
    If we choose "weekly" for all products, we can not plan our daily products for specific days in the week.
    The idea is now to set up a Demantra System with two data models in parallel. Is this possible? Would they reside in different databases or database users?
    The Business Modeller allows to create new models, but can they run in parallel? If they can, how would the user access the different data models?
    Thanks for any hints on this!

    Can you please elaborate on this issue?
    Thanks
