Two submit buttons in a form

Hello,
I'm designing a process where a certain step contain a form with required fields. This particular step has 2 actions.
Is it possible to have 1 action performing the validations as usual - i.e. required fields - and the other action simply submitting the form without validation?
At,

this can be done by implementing a if else condition
if(frm1.but1.value=="xx") {
frm1.action='page.jsp';
frm1.submit();
} else if(frm1.but2.value=='xxx') {
frm1.action='page2.jsp';
frm1.submit();

  • Can we have two submit buttons in one form

    please someone help me. my problem is i want two submit button in one form.one to insert data and other to search data .how can i do this.

    hi!
    it is possible but impragmatic to supply a single form with 2 submit buttons.
    albeit, rather that use submit button you may just do the following (alternatively):
    a. put a default action url to your form's action attribute;
    b. replace all your submit button with just button (form element) and put a unique id on each;
    c. then put a function name (javascript) on its onClick attribute;
    d. in your javascript function, you may now reference your button through their id's and using an if-then statement, assign the proper url that will serve as the new action for your form;
    e. on the last line of your function, execute the line formname.submit()doods72

  • Two submit buttons or more going to diffrent e-mails

    Hello!
    This question was from ndjustin20 and was answered on October 7, 2009 by pgueret below, however I an not javascript (i am assuming it was used) savvy and cannot figure out how it is done. Does anyone have the text used?
    I am trying to create (many) submit buttons to different e-mails.
    Hello Everyone!
    I'm trying to have two separate buttons inside my  form that simply email my pdf to two different addresses.  For some  reason though the first button I create and enter an email address for  takes presedence over all the rest of the buttons I create.  So I create  button1 with email address [email protected] then i create another button2  and say that has an email address of [email protected] well what is happening  is no matter what i put in button2's properties or inside the XML it  still puts [email protected] in the to line of the email.  I am using the button object and changing  it to a submit with the PDF option selected from the drop down.  I have  been able to do this in the past but since i have upgraded to Lifecycle  8.2 I can no longer get it to work right.  Any help is appreciated.  I  don't know how to code in lifecyle but I do understand the principles of  programming so if it is something that i need to do "under the hood" so  to speak then please give me that option also.
    I am also receiving this  warning:
    "This  document has accessed more than one site and may be trying to share  data among different locations.  This could be a privacy concern.  Are  you sure you want to continue?"
    I have attached the form for further review.

    Hello pguerett,
    I read the advice you gave to ndjustin20 and I was wondering if you could help me out with the same issue with having two submit buttons going to two different email addresses. I try following along with what you were saying, but was getting confused on how you were going about to fix the warning i am receiving about “"This document has accessed more than one site and may be trying to share data among different locations.  This could be a privacy concern.  Are you sure you want to continue?”.
    I’m new to adobe’s discussion board and new to LiveCycle Designer and I’m not too diverse in java scripting. I used the “Email submit button” option in the library palette to add the buttons to my form for whoever is filling out the form to e-mail them back to one of the two email addresses.
    I am attaching the form for your review. Anything you can help me with on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Two submit button?

    Hei I got a qn. Currently I am doing a jsp web programming. I have a form which allows user to provide input on the group number and also the group description. I know how to do if I use 1 submit button. But currently I have to have two submit button. one of them called save and continue. 2ND BUTTON is for save and add another.
    summary:
    -1 form under add.jsp
    -2 textbox
    -Group number
    -Group description
    -2 submit button
    - save and continue
    - save and add another
    -2 destination
    the form will forward the user to validate.jsp(to validate user inputs) validate.jsp will forward either to addGroup.jsp on success and add.jsp on failure of validation
    after forward to addGroup.jsp in the page the values will be added into the database.and user being forwarded to viewGroup.jsp.
    destination after clicking save and continue should be viewGroup.jsp
    destination after clicking save and add another should be add.jsp after successful additing value in database

    i've tried that b4 thou. what happen to my program is that the value is swapped by the button. i click save and complete it execute what save and add should do. when i click save and add it returns error as null value sent..
    the request.getParameter(buttonName) placed in my validate.jsp right.. Cos my program currently in school thus i can't verify with u today. Can only get to u tomorrow. Hope you could still visit here cos i might still need ur help.
    I am actually weak at this and confused...
    i know that sent value via url then request from the other page. what i dont understand is the checking part. If u do have the syntax can u help me...

  • How do i add a submit button to a form

    ho do i add a submit button to a form.

    Hi;
    If you are using the FormsCenral website to create a form it will have a submit button by default for the HTML (web) form and also by default it you are saving as PDF (there is an option to create a PDF without Submit, but by default it does submit to FormsCentral).
    If you are using the FormsCentral desktop application that is bundled with Acrobat XI you would have to sign into the service to create forms with Submit buttons.  You can also create a form without submit button in FormsCentral Desktop and then edit the form in Acrobat XI adding a submit button using your preferred submit method such as by email.
    Let me know if you need more information on either of these, it will be easier to assist knowing more about what you are using.
    Thanks,
    Josh
    PS - if this is a question about adding a submit button in Acrobat not related to FormsCentral your question would be best asked in http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat

  • Submit button missing from form, can see it in Pro but not in Reader XI

    I've created and disributed forms in the past with no problem, however, when I open up my form in Reader XI, the submit button is missing.  In the purple ribbon, it instructs people to click the submit button once the form is complete but there is no button showing.  Help!

  • Submit button in Interactive form WDA

    Hi All,
    I have created one WD ABAP interactive form using one BAPI. I have placed one Submit button on the form which is of type (webdynpro native). And i have defined on action in WD. But when I click on submit button the action is not trigerring. I tried even with Webdynpro Active x type but still no use.
    How can I link the button in form to action?
    With Regards,
    Ravi

    Ravi,
    There is onSubmit event in Web Dynpro where you can create your own method for data processing.
    If you have set displayType as native then you should be using Submit button from WD Native Library in Designer.
    Once you place the button on the form, check if following script is present in the click event of button in Script editor of Designer or not.
    // DO NOT MODIFY THE CODE BEYOND THIS POINT - SubmitToSAP.xfo
    ContainerFoundation_JS.SendMessageToContainer(event.target, "submit", "", "", "", "");
    // END OF DO NOT MODIFY
    Also check Control Type in Object Palette for the button. It should be Regular.

  • Submit button from Adobe form doesn't trigger action???

    Hi all,
    the submit button within Adobe form doesn't trigger any action that i wrote. it happens to my machine, but it doesn't happen on some of my colleague's machines.
    i am using Adobe reader 8, when the first time i use IE to display the app, it prompts me to install some kind of activeX plug in, and after it installed, it told me that some setting is not correct, and it mentioned about adobe reader 6 or 7.
    will downgrade to 6 or 7 solve this problem? is there any other walkaround for it?
    thank you!

    If you are on Netweaver 2004s SP9 or higher, you could change the displayType property of InteractiveForm UI element to "Web Dynpro Native" and use the submit button from "Native" tab.
    If you are any other lower version, you dont have a choice but to use "activeX" which requires Active Component Framework (ACF) to communicate with server. You need to use button from "Web Dynpro ActiveX" tab. You need to install the right version of ACF (SAP Note 766191). Better if you use Adobe Reader 8.1.2.
    Thanks

  • Modifying the appearance of the search box, the search button, and the submit button for web forms

    I'm trying to modify the appearance of the search box, the search button, and the submit button for web forms by modifying the CSS on Stylesheets. None of the tags I'm using (e.g. .webform .cat_button) seem to be working. What are the correct tags for those three elements?

  • How do I get to the Submit button on my form?

    I have finished my first form but can not find how to get to the submit button on the form to add where I want the form to go - how do I get an email address attached to the form?

    Hi Amy;
    A FormsCentral form can be either a web form users fill out in a web browser, or a PDF form (can also be distributed both ways).
    For a Web form the data is always collected by the Adobe FormsCentral servers and is available to view/analyze in your account on the View Responses tab of the form.  There are also options to set up Email Reciepts (to the form filler) and Email Notifications (to you and other users you specify) that can contain the form data.
    For a PDF form you have the option of the Submit button that submits the data to FormsCentral the same as the Web form, and the same Notifications and Reciept options apply here too.  Alternatively you create a PDF in FormsCentral to use however you'd like and can edit in Acrobat and add your own Submit button that emails the PDF or form data back to you directly.  There are a number of tutorials online for adding email "Submit" buttons to PDF and if you are going to edit a FormsCentral PDF you would want to look at this FAQ as well: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-3661
    I hope that helps, let me know if you still have questions.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • How do you insert a submit button into your form?

    How do you insert a submit button into a form?

    Hi,
    The submit button is included automatically. If you are distributing your form as HTML you can use the Test tab to preview your form. If you are distributing your form as PDF, you would need to generate the PDF to see the submit button.

  • Help with making an Email Submit button on a form!

    Im making a form using livecycle for the first time.
    Im trying to put on it a email submit button - i used email submit field and made the button. Then in the Objects Palette, in the box that says email address i put in the email address that i want it to be sent to. I then tried to email the form, and i received an email, but the attachment was just a bunch of codes, not the form. I want the email to come through with the PDF form.
    I searched on help and this is what i found:
    3.
    In the Control Type area, select Submit. Data will be submitted according to the settings in the Submit tab.
    4.
    Click the Submit tab and type the URL protocol in the Submit to URL box.
    To
    Use this URL protocol
    Example
    Submit the package to an ftp site
    ftp
    ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/GPL
    Submit the package to a web server
    http
    http://myserver/cgi-bin/
    Submit the package to a secure web server
    https
    https://myserver/cgi-bin/
    Submit the package to an email address
    mailto
    mailto:[email protected]
    5.
    Select PDF from the Submit As list.
    I cant find where to change these options - can someone help?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    The issue is that if the form is not Reader Enabled, then users with Reader cannot submit the form as a PDF.
    They can submit it as an XML file and then you would re-import this back into the form on receipt. It is an extra step, but it does have the advantage that the data being submitted as an XML file is very small.
    If you really need/want the form to be submitted as a PDF AND your users have Reader, then the form will have to be Reader Enabled.
    There are two options:
    Reader Enable using Acrobat Standard (version 9) or Acrobat Professional (version 8). This will give certain rights, like the ability for users with Reader to save the form and for the form to be submitted as a PDF. However there are licensing restrictions, see EULA.
    The other option is to Reader Enable the form using LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES2. This is a server product, which entails additional cost and a cost to Reader Enable each form. It is intended for processing large volumes of forms/large volumes of data.
    There is a summary here:
    http://assure.ly/gYyYc2
    So there are a couple of options.
    Form NOT Reader Enabled:
    Users cannot save the data they input.
    Data must be submitted as an XML file and processed on receipt.
    Form IS Reader Enabled:
    Users can save the data they input.
    Data can be submitted as a PDF (or XML file).
    Hope that helps,
    Niall

  • Can you have more than one submit button on a form?

    I'd like to divide a form so that there are two sections, each with their own submit buttons.  Is it possible to have more than one and if so, how do you "create" a button?

    Hi,
    You could try Redirect URL under Options tab. The way is you create two forms instead of two sections. Let's say form A and form B, then set form A's Redirect URL to form B.
    After submit form A, it will jump to form B after seconds, which you can also set in Redirect URL option.
    Let me know if this can help you.
    Thanks,
    Pengpeng
