UIX/JSP: bug of the tag uix:tabBar

Please, can someone comment on the following behavior of the tag <uix:tabBar>:
The UIX/JSP tag <uix:tabBar> is commonly used together with the <uix:link>.
I cannot make the last one work in a more complex way but just using its attribute 'destination'.
For example, the tag <uix:link> has an attribute 'onClick' but it fails to work within the tag <uix:tabBar>. So in this example:
<uix:tabs>
<uix:tabBar >
<uix:link text="alert" onClick="alert('Test alert');" />
<uix:link text="Main" destination="UixEdit1.jsp />
</uix:tabBar>
</uix:tabs>
The link 'alert' is visible but doesn't work.
Maybe this should be solved by wrapping <uix:link> in something...

Yes, Juan it works fine outside the TabBar.
But, Adam it's not quite clear to me what you mean by the "javascript URLs".
The one thing I want is to make a row editing form divided into 2 tabs (instead of the one, generated by the wizard). So I have do form updates on the event "moving to other tab". Can you advise, how I can put any javascript inside the <tabBar>?
Thank you.

  • How to get the JSP Name calling the Tag Library inside the Tag Library

    Hi guys,
    I have defined a Tag Library PenStart:

  • UIX JSP For Business Components

    I am looking for option under Web Tier - UIX JSP For Business Components - Complete UIX JSP Application. I cannot see that option in Jdeveloper 10g which was avaialble in 9i. What is the turnaround for it.
    I have an application which I wanted to convert it to jsp, so that I could deploy it on the web.
    Thanks in advance.

    We removed the "complete application" wizard in JDeveloper 9.0.5 since the application it was generating was hard to customize. Check out the tutorials on the JDeveloper home page to see how to build a complete application.

  • Uix/jsp lovField

    I want a <lovField> on the uix/jsp page.
    The problem is that the wizard brings up just a controller field on the page, but no LOV dialog into the project (though it is promised to be provided at the documentation).
    Now I'm trying to use a 'lovcomp.jsp' provided with the JBO taglib instead.
    Can anybody answer if Oracle has a similar .jsp for the UIX look&feel, or may be I should do something on the BC level for the corresponding dataitem would be rendered with the <bc4juix:InputRender> automatically?
    Thanks in advance.

    I underscore that my case is UIX/JSP, not XML and there's no problem to get a <uix:lovField> on the page. The matter is that the dialog page for choosing an item from the LOV is not provided for the UIX case. But it is provided for the <jbo:InputSelectLOV>.
    My temporary solution is a combination of these 2.
    So i have the code like following:
    <script src="/webapp/jsLibs/LovField.js" language="javascript"></script>
    <uix:lovField
    id="ClAdr1RegionNameLovField" name="ClAdr1RegionName" text='<%=( ((s = (String)ds_CurrentView.getRowSet().getCurrentRow().getAttribute("ClAdr1RegionName"))!=null)?s:"" )%>'
    destination="javascript:launchLov('lovcomp.jsp', 'form1', 'ClAdr1RegionName', 'servo.TechSupportBC.TechSupportBCModule.TechSupportBCModuleLocal', 'RegionsView', 'RegionName', 'RegionName')">
    </uix:lovField>
    It works fine as the 'lovcomp.jsp' is grabbed by me from the <jbo:InputSelectLOV> analogue.
    The one that doesn't suit me is that the 'lovcomp.jsp' has a wrong look&feel for UIX. So I wonder if there is a better one.
    PS: By the way Ed, I suppose that the <jbo:InputSelectLOV> is working good, though I haven't tested.

  • How to using the script tag in uix/jsp?

    Do i have to write in uix/jsp:
    <uix:rawText>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function doCheckForm()
    </script>
    </uix:rawText>
    Or exists another tag that handles the javascripts without the "rawText" script?
    Marc

    If you are declaring a function, you dont need to add it under the rawText tag. It can be added with a simple script tag at the top of the page.

  • UIX/JSP - How to use the UIX Controller with UIX/JSP

    After reading the UIX Developers Guide I am under the impression that I could use the UIX Controller with UIX/JSP pages. Is this correct and are there any available examples?
    Bill G...

    It's correct, but I'm afraid we don't have much (read as "any")
    documentation on how to do that - besides reading through the
    gobs of Javadoc and guessing how to put it together.
    Half of the problem is solved by registering JspPageDescriptions
    on a PageBroker (e.g., UIXPageBroker) to tell the UIX Controller
    to use a JSP to render a particular page, instead of a UIX XML
    document.
    The other half is getting the JSP to send requests back to
    the UIX Controller. Depending on how you've chosen to name
    your pages, create either a DefaultPageEncoder or ExtensionPageEncoder
    inside your JSP, and use that to create destination URLs.

  • Table on UIX/JSP Jdev10G

    Hi!!
    How can i build a uix/jsp table on Jdev10G without bc4juix:table .
    I need a table based on EmpVO with detail disclosure, but examples that i found it's with jbo, and haven't uix design...

    Hi Eliseu,
    In the JDeveloper 10g preview the JSP visual editor does not have any built in support for the UIX/JSP tag library to allow drag and drop from the Data Control palette.
    Have you tried to build your page using UIX XML, which is the preferred way?

  • ToolTips of fields in UIX JSP

    Hi All,
    We are using UIX JSP.
    We need to put tooltips to the fields getting displayed in our pages. We put the text we want as the tip in the
    'ToolTip Text' box in the 'ContrloHint' tab of the
    Edit Attribute window.(Using the Structure Panel)
    We did it for both the entity object and view object without success. Then we found in the 'Help' that it is
    not supported in UIX JSP. I am quoting the following paragraph from the 'Help' in JDev.
    "The following table lists the control hints and whether the various Business Components clients pick them up.
    Hint BC4J Data Tags BC4J UIX Tags JClient JavaUI
    LabelText yes yes yes
    Tooltip yes no yes "
    If it is not supported with UIX JSP, is there any workaround?
    Thanks in Advance

  • How I can use struts with uix jsp

    Hi,
    I want to use struts with uix jsp but I don't know how to set value of uix tag attribut by struts tag
    example :
    I want to change:
    <uix:globalHeader text="title" >
    by
    <uix:globalHeader>
    <bean:message key="title" arg0="Browse"/>
    </uix:globalHeader>
    N.B: I tried to use the tag <boundAttribute> but doesn't works
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ghazouani,
    From your sample code it looks like you are trying to use the Struts <bean:message> to provide internationalized text for the links in your globalHeader component. Couple of comments on this particular issue:
    - You'll need to add a <link> element to your globalHeader for each item that you want to display. So, instead of:
    <uix:globalHeader>
    <bean:message key="title" arg0="Browse"/>
    </uix:globalHeader>
    You'll want something which looks like this:
    <uix:globalHeader>
    <uix:link text="Browse"/>
    </uix:globalHeader>
    - If you want to bind the text for each link to some internationalized value which is pulled from a ResourceBundle, you should use the UIX JSP <bundle> data provider:
    <uix:bundle name="l10n" class="your.Bundle"/>
    <uix:globalHeader>
    <uix:link textBinding="title@l10n"/>
    </uix:globalHeader>
    In general when mixing JSP tags from different tag libraries, you need to be careful that you honor the semantics of each tag library. For example, in this particular case, the <uix:globalHeader> expects to have <uix:link> children - using any arbitrary tag (like <bean:message>) is not necessarily going to produce the desired results.
    As far as general UIX/Struts integration goes, we recommend using uiXML as a view for your Struts application. Check out the "Using uiXML with Struts" section of the UIX Developer's Guide for more info.

  • UIX JSP equivalent for JSTL 'set'?

    Is there a UIX JSP tag that performs an analogous function to the JSTL tag 'set'? I would like to be able to setup local variables so that I don't have to repeat extended expressions.

    You can (generally) speaking use JSTL's set in UIX JSP pages, and (mostly) use JSTL JSP tags with UIX JSP tags.
    So, you should just be able to use <c:set>.
    The major complexity in integrating the two is remembering that JSTL sets and iterates immediately, but UIX JSP evaluates EL expressions only once the last UIX JSP tag completes. This doesn't cause much of a problem with <c:set> or <c:if>, but does cause some major problems with <c:forEach>.
    (A very similar problem is encountered when using JSTL tags with Java Server Faces JSP tags, so this is just a painful fact-of-life.)

  • JDev9i: BC4J JSP or UIX JSP?

    Hi,
    To develop a large JSP application, I read the document to
    decide which one to use BC4J JSP or UIX JSP? but still not sure
    which one to start. Any command from experienced JSP developer
    would be a great help for me. Thanks.

    Hello,
    Did you look at the section titled "Which Technology Should I
    Use?" in the JDeveloper online documentation? It gives a fairly
    decent idea on what you can do with the various pieces if
    technology that form a part of the UIX framework. Given that you
    are planning on building a huge application I am assuming that
    you would be interested in a consistent look and feel across the
    different pages of your application. UIX lends itself very well
    to build such applications very easily. On the other hand if you
    wanted to use JSPs, you could still use the UIX JSP tags which
    provide JSP tags which are wrappers for the underlying UIX
    elements. However, the UIX elements are much richer in terms of
    functionality (attributes, etc.)
    Hope this helps,
    -Kishore

  • How to use ShowValue within a UIX/JSP page to display an active link?

    I am storing URL's in the DB and want to display them as active links on a UIX/JSP page. I thought that I had this working some time ago, but now it no longer works.
    Using <bc4juix:RenderValue datasource="ds1" dataitem="myTextField" /> will display "http://www.otn.oracle.com" as an inactive link using UIX/XML which is expected.
    Using <jbo:ShowValue datasource="ds1" dataitem="myTextField" /> will display an active link using if using BC4J/JSP, which is expected.
    However, I have not been able to do this using a UIX/JSP page.
    Is it possible to use ShowValue within a UIX/JSP page to display an active link?
