Unable to add document title to document imported from server

Hi ,
Im using the Import file method from SOFM to retrieve a document from a server path and create an SOFM document.
However i am not able to give the document title to the document when i use this method.
I am using the import file method because i dont want to keep the file import interactive but in the background. In this way , how can i give the title to the SOFM document ? there is no import parameter to the method which allows me to pass a document title to the method !
Any suggestions/solutions for this ?

Hi ,
I banged my head over standard SAP code all day and have finally found out this cant be done via import file unfortunately. If i use create file, i will need all data for the file , and this can be done only via open dataset and read.
This actually gets the data but there seems to be some problem with the data and is not able to convert to the BO SOFM (it actually creates an instance but the file is corrupted.)
so i used the direct and quite unadvisable way of directly updating the document title in the SOOD table and this works perfectly

Okay. There might be one issue if the form is corrupted or due to some bad scripts it may happen. What's your default program for opening PDF? Is it Acrobat Pro/ Adobe reader? By default if you have Acrobat Pro then PDF will open in Acrobat Pro. Try to uninstall and instal again Acrobat. But before doing that do one thing. Set the default application for opening PDF to Adobe Reader. And try to preview the form. If it does not workout then first uninstal and instal Adobe Reader first. If it does not workout Uninstal and instal Acrobat Pro.

About the message "Unable to add document - The document that you are attempting to add, already exists in the library!" that appears every time you attempt to drop an existing item inside Adobe Digital Editions, wouldn't it be good if it could give us the choice to overwrite, ignore or cancel and make this the default action for all the remaining messages?

I have a Mac on my home network and also a Systemline music server on same network. My PC was able to find the server but my MAC cannot. I can ping the server from the mac, but cannot actually connect . Also can't add the mac as a location from server

Thanks for reply. I am not an expert on these sharing protocols but I think I have turned on SMB sharing but still wont connect. I tried adding netwrik drive by using cntrl K in finder and using smb\\network address but nothing. It is driving me mad!!

Import from Server Tabular Project creating a new Tabular DB?

Hi,
I have a Tabular database on a server want to make some changes to it, for that I have imported Tabular DB through BIDS and trying to makes changes, and what I see is every time I import the tabular DB its creating a New DB on the server with <DBName><UserName><GUID>.
Is this the Tabular Model behavior or an I missing anything here?
How to make the changes to the existing Tabular?

According to your description, you want to modify an existing tabular database. Right?
In Analysis Services Tabular mode, once the "Import from Server" project is created, the Workspace database will appear in the Analysis Services instance specified in the
Workspace Server property. The name cannot be set in the Properties window. The default setting of Workspace database is the project name, followed by an underscore, followed by the username, followed by an underscore, followed by a GUID. In this
scenario, I suggest open the original project which created that tabular database. Modify the project and redeploy it.

Unable to add document to SP 2010 library

In a SP 2010 library I'm unable to add a document to a specific library. When I try adding the document SP says that the file is checked out for editing by someone. However, the file doesn't exist in the library and the require check-out option isn't
turned on for that library either. A file with the same name might have existed in that library at one time but it's currently not there.

Page number problem with document imported from MS Word.

I am a new Mac/Pages user and imported a Word document to use as a template to help me learn the Pages formatting nuances. This has worked well except for one problem. I have page numbers in the footer, but only the first digit of the page number shows up, i.e. 7,8,9,1,1...etc. I can't find a way to edit or delete the page number imported from Word. I can easily insert the page numbers through Pages but can't get rid of the imported pages numbers. Also, how do I prevent page 1 from receiving a page number?

Others have reported difficulty removing page numbers from imported Word docs. I think it can be done, but it may not be worth the effort to repair the imported document when you can easily Select All and Copy the entire document and Paste it into a fresh Pages blank document without the improperly formatted, persistent Word page numbering.

I got a problem setting the right path for importing data-files directly from a directory on the server (that is not under the "arborpath").
As I mentioned in the techref:

the directory to import files from the server can be defined below the "arborpath"-directory.
Importing the files from local site is no problem. My question is if it is possible to change the path for the import to something else than "arborpath"?

if i do so and the arborpath of the system is:

i get the following error:
Unable to open File [E:\Hyperion\products\Essbase\EssbaseServer\app\appl-name\dbs-name\D:\\Mydir\\Myfiles\\MyData.txt]

The arborpath and the path to the import-file are merged.

Client unable to get the javax.activation.DataHandler object from Server

I am trying to download the file from the server to the client using Javax.Activation.Data Handler object with IBM web services. But server always returning the Data Handler object is null. I am wondering why it is behaving like this.
My requirement is add the file to the Data Handler object from the server and read the same from the client. But I am always getting Data Handler object is null at the client place.
Please see the client side code and server side code below.
Server side Code:
This is the simple web service method, its creating the Data Handler object and adding it to the Hash Map and returning the Hash Map object to the client.

Thanks for your response.I did debug from server side,it has printing content of Data Handler properly.
Also i have debug request and response messages using TCP/IP monitor(RAD environment has this feature).The response from the server is going proplery.
But the client side Data Handler is coming null.
Any advice or solution would be greatly appreciated.

PAGES CRASHES ON OPENING DOCUMENT IMPORTED FROM WORD - HOW TO RECOVER DOC?

I have a new iMac with Pages, updated. Opened a word file, edited extensively and saved in documents.
Upon trying to reopen the file, saved as a pages file, it immediately crashes the program.
Any ideas on how I can recover (reopen) this file and extract the contents? Text editor doesn't handle pages files.
Would appreciate any suggestions.

Hmmm. all caps and no responses. I wonder why.
Each Pages (and Keynote) file is a special folder called a package.
To see inside the package (hmmm... ladies, don't take that the wrong way) you must choose "show package contents" and a new finder window will appear. Surf to the document and control-click on it to get the contextual menu with that selection.
Inside the package you will find a copy of all graphics and sounds and movies you placed in the document or presentation. Inside will also be a compressed file named 'index.xml.gz' This is a file with all the text in it. However, it also contains xml code. Strip out the stuff you need and paste it in a textedit file (unless you use a different program, say Macjournal or what have you)
Now. That explains where your text lies, and how to get it back. An alternative might be to troubleshoot and see if it is the Pages program itself causing the problem. Can you open any other Pages files? If yes, then it is the file you had been working on. Did you add any images or movies? If yes, then create a copy of the document, surf back into the package and start removing images/movies/etc and see if taking one out lets it open. If it does, then that one image is the problem.
If it was just text, then I haven't the foggiest idea what may have caused it.

Why am I unable to edit documents converted from PDFs using acrobat?

I Purchased the acrobat for converting PDFs for ease of editing. I have failed to edit the converted documents and the document is substantially corrupted on conversion. Help!

Is there any specific message that arrives when you try edit the doc?

Flash CS6 - Unable to save document (to windows server) [OSX Mavericks]

Since updating to OSX Mavericks, I've been unable to save to our network server (HP Proliant with raid 6 running Windows 2008 R2).
I can save to any given filename once (open an old file from pre-OSX update and then save / create a new file and then save it as something) - any subsequent saves to that file name result in a warning dialogue box similar to this:
The original FLA will also corrupt during the attempted save process. The file size will also bloat.
For example my intial test file is listed as 211KB in finder
I open it perform an amend and save it once - that works fine. My file is still 211KB in finder
I then reopen it for another amend and attempt to save.
The unable to save warning dialogue appears. The file is now 421KB in finder and corrupt.
If I try to resave after the first file save fails the file continues to bloat.
e.g. if I attempt to save it another twice the file will now show as 843KB in finder and still be corrupt

While this issue is being fixed, you can recover the corrupted files by following the below steps
1. Change the file extension of your corrupted fla to zip eg: corrupt.fla to corrupt.zip
2. Extract the zip file
3. Open the xfl file from the extracted folder in Flash CC(you will see the file is of up to date and non-corrupted)
Other trivial work-arounds:
1. Save your file as .xfl(uncompressed fla) instead of .fla
2. Connect your shared location via afp protocol on Mac 10.9 whereever-possible
3. Use Mac 10.8 or lower versions if-possible

Unable to edit WebDynpro source code after import from NWDI Track

Hi !
I am facing an odd issue when trying to modify the source code in a web dynpro that is in a Track.
This is what happens:
I create the project from Inactive DCs
I double click in the component controller (for example) and try to enter a line of code
A pop ups appears saying that in order to modify the file I have to check it out and to create an activity
The window to create a new activity appears, and I create the new activity
I am informed that the file to be edited will be included in the activity
--- Until now everything is normal ---
A try again to type something inside the source code.. and NOTHING happens, is as if my keyboard was broken.
After trying 1000 things I found a workaround that is:
Open the DTR perspective in NWDS, go to inactive -- <project>.. gen_wdp , ( and in gen_wdp right click, edit --> subfolder tree).
After doing that I am able to edit the source code... this is very strange! I mean, I never had this problem before..
somebody has a hint ?

Photoshop adds one pixel to images imported from illustrator. Help!

Whenever I import an image from Illustrator (CC) into Photoshop (CC), it seems that Photoshop is adding ONE PIXEL to the image. For example, if the image is designed at 250x300px in Illustrator, when I bring it into Photoshop, it becomes 250x301px. Since I'm designing for specific web ad dimensions, this is obviously a problem.
Why is this happening, what might I be doing wrong, and how can I correct this? I appreciate any suggestions/feedback! Thank you!
