Unable to execute entity bean

Hi all,
I have created entity bean (say CategoryBean) in which I am writing create method as follow.
public String create() throws CreateException
//my code goes here.
I am having Home interface (say CategoryHome) in which I have written this method as follow:
public Category create() throws RemoteException, CreateException;
When I am executing this bean through web client I am getting following error in server log file:
error : java.rmi.RemoteException: Bean class for ejb [CategoryBean] does not define a method corresponding to [Home] interface method [public abstract qsys.appbeans.Category qsys.appbeans.CategoryHome.create() throws java.rmi.RemoteException,javax.ejb.CreateException]
Plz tell me where am I mistaken?
Thanks.

You have to implement ejbCreate() method
corresponding to the method create()method in the
homre interface.Did I say something different?Well, your reply was short and precise. Not allowed :)

    Make sure that the JNDI name for the datasource and that for the EJB is different. It seems that both the datasource and the EJB are getting bound to the same name and hence the problem. You'll have to check the deployment descriptor to ensure that JNDI names for the datasource and EJB are different.

  • Unable to use Class Designer when deriving Entity Bean from another class

    I have several Entity Beans that have common fields. In order to maximise reusability, I have defined a base class which contains these common fields and corresponding get/set methods on these fields.
    In the next step, I build an Entity Bean using JDeveloper. I then go to Source Editor and in the Bean class, modify the Java code to inherit from this base class that I have defined. I then try to go to Class Designer expecting to see the inherited fields as well.
    However, this is the error I get :
    "Error while trying to parse source file...."
    Any pointers on resolving this would be a great help ! Thanks !!!

    If you're running >Java 1.4, you'll need to put your classes into a package since Tomcat can no longer import the class 'BeanProdess' which is in an unnamed namespace.
    Your JSP is compiled into a class (in the package org.apache.jsp) that doesn't recognize anything in the default package.
    Here's a reference if you want to read about this.

    Hi,
    I had the same error as you. I'm agree with arvind_India (previous). You must :
    1. Define a correct Connection Pool (warning: deploy it on your managed server).
    2. Test your connection Pool on your managed server.
    3. Create a DataSource from your connection Pool.
    4. Deploy your DataSource on your managed server.
    5. Verify the JNDI TREE of your managed server (Now, the JNDI name of your dataSource must appair).
    6. Deploy your Entity Bean (the error has disapeared).

    I changed schema locations of descriptor files as suggested at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/e13706/overview.htm#i1074199 (see the third category for '*Enterprise Bean 2.1*' in the listing Table 1-1). Alternatively, you may see the schema locations for EJB2.0 directly at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/e13719/dd_reference.htm#EJBPG481

    JRE version in JBoss is 1.6.0_16. JVM in web logic is pointing to jrockit_160_22_D1.1.1-3 which is come in the package. It doesn't seem to be related to JVM version mismatch.
    I think it is an issue with definitions in weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml file. How should be the definition of entity-descriptor appear for entity bean which has finder methods in ejb-jar.xml?
    Please see the snippets from corresponding descriptor files below.

  • Timeout of session / entity bean

    Hi all
    We are facing "RollbackException: The transaction has been marked for rollback (timed out)" excpetion. please help us in resolving this.
    Here is problem description.
    Code Description:
    Step1: Action class calls Session bean
    Step2:Session Bean does three things
    A. Reads various value from database and write it to fileOutputStream
    B. Generate a Sequence number using Sequence
    C. Call create method of Entity Bean by local reference to insert the created file (in step 2A) in database as blob
    As per our observation session bean takes around 20-30 sec in processing 2A and 2B.
    But at 2-C, code raises following error
    TariffDocumentBlob is the Entity Bean
    TariffSessionEJB is the Session Bean
    javax.ejb.CreateException: Error creating EntityBean: RollbackException: The transaction has been marked for rollback (timed out)

    We have tried out .....
    - Making new Enity Bean
    - changing timeout of session bean by changing it in properties
    <session-deployment name="TariffSessionEJB" timeout="300" >
    We are using Oracle 10g application Sever and Oracle 10.1 database.

    Assuming you are using either 9.0.4 or 10.1.2, please note that default transaction time out is 30s and you can change that <transaction-config> element in server.xml. This is specified in millliseconds

    could anyone tell me what's the difference between 'java:comp/env/' and without it
    by the way i used for lookup Datasource the following and it's working
    DataSource dataSource = (DataSource)jndiContext.lookup("jdbc/TECHBOOK");

  • Error while deploying Entity Beans on OC4J 10.1.3

    Hi,

    Hi,
    The error was coming because of the table structure. All the columns were composite keys. I alter the structured by removing composite keys and added a new column as primary key. Now it is getting deployed successfully.
    Can anybody comment on such a behaviour of OC4J?

    I am trying to develop an entity bean attached to a key which have a
    composite key using Primary Key Class. When I use the findByPrimaryKey
    method of the bean it throws an exception as follows,I notice that you are using the reference CMP plugin.
    at com.netscape.server.ejb.SQLPersistenceManager.find(Unknown Source)I'm also willing to bet that you may have created your own primary key class
    with a single field, rather than using the fields type as a primitive
    primary key class. If you do this, then SQLPersistenceManager will break.
    It is badly written, and has some stupid assumptions. The one I remember
    the most is that if you only have one primary key field, then
    SQLPersistenceManager assumes you have used a primitive type such as
    java.lang.String or java.lang.Integer, to represent it, rather than creating
    your own <Enity>Pk.java file.
    SQLPersistenceManager works for toy examples, but in general I would say it
    is broken and unusable. Either use BMP, or splash out the money for Coco
    Base from Thought Inc. Currently the only CMP plugin for iPlanet App server,
    other than the reference implementation, that I know of.

    Hi,
    It is likely that some libraries are missing in your client environment. (it has nothing to do with security)
    Make sure that the libraries in JBoss client (folder your_jboss_folder/client) are in your client application classpath. In particular, look for jnp-client.jar.
    This should solve the problem.

  • Problem with ejb 3.0 entity beans with manyToMany relationship

    Hello everyone!
    I am using struts 1.2.9 and java ee 5 sdk update 2 for my enterprise application. Besides others i have these entity beans Targetgroup.java and City.java, (i would upload file but i do not know how:)
    with manytomany relationship with join table.
    when user updates Targetgroup, by clicking on web page with checkboxes and textfields, struts dispatch action calls following method stateless bean:
    public void update(String firmId, String targetgroupId, String newGender, String newMinYearsOld, String newMaxYearsOld, String[] newCities) {
    TargetgroupPK pkForUpdate = new TargetgroupPK(targetgroupId, firmId);
    Targetgroup targetgroupForUpdate = find(pkForUpdate);
    targetgroupForUpdate.setGender(newGender);
    targetgroupForUpdate.setMinyearold(Integer.parseIn t(newMinYearsOld));
    targetgroupForUpdate.setMaxyearold(Integer.parseIn t(newMaxYearsOld));
    //pronalazenje gradva za koje je vezana ciljna grupa
    Collection<City> newCitiesCollection = new ArrayList<City>();
    for(int i = 0; i < newCities.length; i++){
    String tmp_city_name = newCities;
    City city_obj = cityFacade.find(tmp_city_name);
    newCitiesCollection.add(city_obj);
    targetgroupForUpdate.setCityidCollection(newCities Collection);
    parameter newCities represents names of cities which user checked on his update page. When the page is showen to him some cities are allready check because they were connected with Targetgruoup when it was created (targetgroup).
    this code throws following exception:

    exceprion is throwen ONLY when in parameter newCities are city names allready connected to Targetgroup. when NewCities contains names of
    City objects which are not connected to Targetgroup it works fine, but it's of no use for me, because user must be able to add or remove certian cities from relaionship with Targetgroup. I think it's because there are rows in join table that contain primary keys of city and targetgroup which are connected so perisistence manager cann't write them again.
    i thought it was going to figure it out by itself, and only update those rows.
    Does anyone know what is the problem and solution?
    Thanks! (forgive my spelling errors :)

    solved the problem!
    I moved code from sesion bean to struts action as follows:
    CityFacadeLocal cityFacade = lookupCityFacade();
    //prikupljanje novih podataka o ciljnoj grupi
    String newGender = ctf.getGender();
    String newMaxYears = ctf.getMaxyears();
    String newMinYears = ctf.getMinyears();
    String[] newSelectedCities = ctf.getSelectedCities();
    //niz imena gradova se prevodi u kolekcju objekata City
    Collection<City> newCitiesObjCollection = new Vector<City>();
    for(int i = 0; i < newSelectedCities.length; i++){
    String tmpCityName = newSelectedCities;
    City tmpCityObj = cityFacade.find(tmpCityName);
    newCitiesObjCollection.add(tmpCityObj);
    //setovanje novih podataka
    targetgroupForUD.setGender(newGender);
    targetgroupForUD.setMinyearold(Integer.parseInt(newMinYears));
    targetgroupForUD.setMaxyearold(Integer.parseInt(newMaxYears));
    targetgroupForUD.setCityidCollection(newCitiesObjCollection);
    //pozivanje update metdoe u session beany
    targetgroupFacade.edit(targetgroupForUD);
    //korisnik se vraca na stranu sa svim postojecim ciljnim grupama
    forward = mapping.findForward("backend.targetgroups");
    and now it works fine. I guess probelm was same transaction scope for Targetgroup and City entities. Now when they are separated it works.
    Thanks!

  • Deployment descriptor error for an EJB 3.0 entity bean module

    Hi all,

    Hi,

    public class Client{

         home.create("123-456-7890","John");
         }catch(...){
    }What are the System Properties? Are you running the client remotely? Are you running the client as a stand alone Java app or using the Weblogic's Client Runner? 'java:comp' as the jndi name is usually used when the client runs inside the container... But it doesn't seem to be the case.

  • Problem with cache refresh entity bean / server node

    Hello,
    ive got a big problem and not found answer in sdn until now.
    Ive got a job that gets data from maxdb by sapjob - jco - session bean - entity bean - database.
    this job works daily. the data to work with is written directly to database from external.
    on first execute it works, but second etc not. i search for answer and i guess something:
    entity bean is cached (increase percormance?) with results of the select and do not know about new database entries when they are written directly to database. so second select says: there is no new data (but they are there).
    i only get this new data when i restart netweaver server node, then it works, but only for one time. then result is in cache and then i have to do same procedure before it goes (restart server).
    how can i get this data? is there any setting for force node to refresh cache? or any other settings to affect something like this?
    we have to go live with this in august.
    thx for help.
    Version: NW04, SP21

    thanks at first.
    OSS was the next step i consider, enforcedly.
    I hoped that there was a kind of timeout in visual admin or somewhere else where (for example) i can set a special time (seconds?) for refreshig the cache. Or i can set a flag for "do not cache entity beans".
    Someone else any idea?
    Nowadays on test system whe have made a task that starts windows every night so that netweaver also is "fresh". a kind of resolution but not the best and no resolution for the productiv system. or whe have to write a kind of batch job that only restarts server node once a day.
    New Info:
    I think cache was filled directly after restart.
    when we restart, then data are written, and then our application wanted to read them, they are also not seen.
    The data are only seen by bean when the restart takes place AFTER the data are written into db.
    So we change restart time to point after data are written. so we will test if this works, on monday we will see.
