Unable to update Logical Delete field in AS400

hi all,
We have an ESB process that polls for data in AS400 DB and transfers this data into an Oracle DB. This polling is based on Logical Delete. The data transferred is in the range of some lakhs of records. So we are sending around 5000 records per transaction in ESB. When we deploy the process, the data in AS400 is being read and getting transferred. However, the status field is not changing to 'Read Value'. Due to this, we are facing a lot of issues like, when we're in middle of data transfer and the opmn restarts, the data which has already been transferred is also being read and this is throwing an error because of primary constraint violation. Even after the data transfer, if we delete any rows in Oracle DB, the data transfer resumes as the status field is not updated.
I have worked with logical delete in Oracle DB before and was working fine.
Please help me with Logical Delete functionality in case of AS400 Database and also please let me know the privilages we need to have on the AS400 DB to successfully run this process.

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you was unable to update managed metadata field in designer workflow.
You need to provide the exact string for the MMS value, in the form of <id>;<value>.
The format of the value you wanted to set is uncorrectly, so you cannot update the managed metadata field.
If you want to set the managed metadata field value with correct format, you’d better to create custom action.
There is an article for your reference, although it is about the SharePoint 2010, it is similar to SharePoint 2013.

3. My form is successfully update some rows as well but not on all rows on one PC while same form able to update all rows on other PC.
4. I drop the table and re-create the table again but problem persist.

Two conditions:
1. your Logic Pro 9.0.0 app must be in the Applications folder.
2. Its name must be Logic Pro - without the version number.
download the update from here, instead of via software update:

3. After you've updated, you'll find apps named Logic Pro 9.0.0 and just Logic Pro (being 9.1) in your Applications folder.

Database Adapter using Logical Delete Polling Strategy not updating field

I have an ESB database adapter defined against a table. The adapter is set to use the Logical Delete Polling Strategy, and the table has an extra column defined as the "delete" field. When I register the adapter to the ESB and add a record to the table, the adapter reads the contents of the record as expected. However, 15 seconds later (that being the polling interval) it reads it again, and again 15 seconds after that, ad infinitum.
I have defined the logical delete field as a single character field and set the Read value for "T" (a record is normally inserted with that field having a null value). Results as outlined in the previous paragraph. I redefined the field as a number and set the Read value to "1" (with a record normally inserted with that field having a value of "0"). Results as outlined in the previous paragraph.
Apparently the update of the logical delete value to the Read value is not occurring. My question (obviously) is: Why?

The field PROCESSED is defined as CHAR(1), and is normally null when a record is inserted. The value of the field is to be set to 'T' when the record is read by the polling adapter.

HELP! Newbie: Unable to update fields

I am teacher of a Java course and I am teaching Kodo JDO to my students. But
I am unable to update my persistent fields to the DB. I have a persistent
class Employee with two fields: name and wage. I have the following code:

Of course, I always advocate the benefits of encapsulation with my students.
In this example, I declared my fields as public only because I was trying
with private fields and it wasn't working (I don't know why). So I try with
public fields to see whether it would work.
Anyway, I had encapsulated my fields and everything worked OK. I was in
trouble (the class is only some hours away and some of my students are
prospects of customers so my image is fundamental). You have get me out of
trouble.

the field. When you use public fields, that means all classes thataccess
the fields need to be run through the enhancer, even if some of thoseclasses
are not persistent themselves (note: only persistent classes
should have metadata -- the enhancer uses the presence of metadata to
determine whether to make the class persistent or just modify persistent
field access to other classes).
Because it's a pain to track which non-persistent classes accesspersistent
fields of persistent classes, we recommend that you keep your persistent
fields private, or protected and only accessed by subclasses. Plus, as a
teacher, I would think you'd be advocating the benefits of encapsulation
anyway :)

Logical delete in database adapter

I was wondering if someone has solution the problem with polling database. You can specify the logical delete column and you can give values for READ, UNREAD and RESERVED states. The problem is that when for example ESB project polls some specific table and starts an instance for every new row with specified logical delete field with value UNREAD, when something unexpected happens and something goes wrong the database adapter updates the row with READ value. This is problematic if we have thousands of rows, and we would like to separate the errored rows from the successfully read rows. Is there anyway (easy) way to update those rows that went wrong to some other value than READ?
I don't know if anyone understood me, but just for clarification here's a example:
I have a ESB-project which poll specific database table and parses and XML from the data. After this the ESB-project sends the data to some Web Service. The database table has column CONDITION_CODE in which value 0 means unread and value 1 means read. Now if everything goes fine there is no problems. But if the Web Service is unavailable or the data is malformed, the database adapter still updates the CONDITION_CODE to 1! We have no ways (except to listen ESB_ERROR topic and implement some error handling there) to know what rows were successfully delivered and which were not...
Hope I was able to clarify the problem... And I hope someone could be able to provide me with answer.

Did you use the RESERVED value property? How about the transaction mechanism? Do you have global transactions? I gues you would have to use them!

If you're using BC4J and XSQL together, then you can leverage the oracle.jbo.xsql.UpdateViewObject action handler that ships with BC4J for use in XSQL pages to make it easy to handle hierarchical XML documents using BC4J view objects.
BC4J view objects can both produce and consume XML documentment using the writeXML() and readXML() API's on oracle.jbo.ViewObject, respectively.
If there are view links in place, then the BC4J XML processing mechanism follows these links to nested, detail information. When you "feed" an existing XML document to the YourViewObject.readXML() method, it automatically processes inserts, updates, and deletes, as well as apply any BC4J business logic that exists in your Entity Objects (if any).
The BC4J Action Handlers make it easy to combine BC4J with XSQL pages without having to write the writeXML() and readXML() calls by hand.

I have table which contains the request data. requested by User.
There are 3 admins each at different region which can take action on the requests send by thier regional teams/users.
For Region A , it works fine that the Admin opens the Form,
View the requests and then pres Generate_report/or Cancel button , but before that he/she has to insert the comments/reason for his action.
Same thing when starts for Region B ,
suddenly i got a message
Unable to update or delete records.
Unable to reserve records for Update.
WHy is such message coming.
We have 2 Datablocks.
both from the s ame table .
One block shows the requestes. it is read only,
the other part shows only 1 field which is Comments, from the same table , both blocks joined by the request_id.
ANy body with suggestion plz.
same thing is working for Region A .
Admins are taking action on requests easiy
what happens ot Region B .
i have yet to implement it for Region C ,
but i have to resolve this for region B first

Unable to reserve records for Update usually means another session is locking the records to update them so the current user can't get a lock on them.
Try to find out who is locking them

Database Adapter Logical Delete Not Working....

I have an issue with the DB Adapter under BPEL GA 10.1.3.1. I'm trying to do a logical delete on a table however the logical delete isn't updating the records to show that they've been processed.
I've created a simple test case with a 3 column table sitting in Oracle XE DB with the third column containing the logical delete flag. I've created a new process consisting of a DB Adapter partnerlink and a receive. In the logs (below) I can see the Select statement followed by the Update (logical delete) occurring but the Update statement just actually run against the DB. I can copy the update statement and run this through SQL as the same DB user and it updates the records.
Has anyone seen this before?

Hi,
I haven't yet used 10.1.3, but we had a number of issues under 10.1.2.0.2 around caching and upd/ins/del.
A number of things we changed were
- set usesBatchWriting to false in oc4j-ra.xml file
- set identityMap to NoIdentityMap via toplink work bench
- set should-always-refresh-cache-on-remote,should-disable-cache-hits,should-disable-cache-hits-on-remote to true in toplink mappings.xml file (note this last one is only if toplink was not used to insert the source data).

Logical delete in DB adapter with 2 columns to update

Hi',
I am using Oracle SOA 11G.
I am polling a DB table and after reading the data I have to update 2 columns.
With logical delete we can update 1 field, is it possible to update 2 fields.
If Yes, then I have to update the first column BPEL_FLAG = R and BPEL_TIME = currentTime()

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Apps are always tied to the ID that was used to purchase them originally. Did you try entering your old password and see if that works?
If you need to sign out of your old account go to Settings>Store>Tap on your ID and sign out. Sign in with the new one.
you can also access your ID in the featured tab of the App Store. Swipe to the bottom of the screen and you will find it there as well.
