Unable to update my iPhone 3 GS with 4.01
I have attempted to update my iPhone software multiple times but get error messages. I am trying again but iTunes lists 22 hours for the software download so I think I will get the error again. Any suggestions?

Select the Summary tab with your iPhone connected. Look at the bottom of the iTunes window. Make sure there is enough storage space available.

I am unable to update my IPhone 4 to the IOS 6. I managed to back up and transfer and then when it asked to update I said yes and the sync process started, left it overnight and it came up with an error if continue you will loose all your data. So stopped! Help!
Are you currently on ios 4? If so that's where the backup comes in. You'll need to restore your backup once the software is updated.

I just updated my iphone 4s with sprint to ios6. while I can connect to wifi I am unable to connect to my 3g data plan. my celluar data is switched to un under general settings.
I also cant send texts.

I tried to update my iPhone 3GS with iOS, data was restored but on continue with activation in the iTunes stores, it is replying "We're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time." what could be the reason?
Hmm, well... iTunes trys to activate your iPod using the Apple server to make sure you have bought it legit.
Two things come into my mind:
1) Your iTunes can't access the internet.
2) Apples activation servers are down.
That's just my cents, maybe anyone else has an idea. -
My friend updated her iphone 4g with the iOS6 and lost all of her photos, contacts, messages, and music. She doesn't believe she had the icloud set up because after they restored her phone they asked for a new apple-id. Any suggestions on how to get all of her stuff back, she has a newborn and all of her pictures of him are gone!
I tried that but I still got the message "Unable to verify account information." I saved it anyway and when I go to the Exchange email account it says "Cannot Get Mail" "The connection to the server failed." We are running Microsoft Exchange 2010 and I was always able to sync my calendar and email before I upgraded to IOS 6.

Im updating my Iphone 5c with the latest apple update, but it isnt done after an hour... how long is it supposed to take?
Via iCloud on Wi-Fi about ten minutes at the most. Via iTunes, about the same.
Reset your iPhone.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Then tap Settings > General > About then scroll to Version. If it says: 7.1.2 then the update was complete.
If not, follow the instructions for recovery mode >> iOS: Unable to update or restore -

If you don't have enough free space on your iPad Air to update to iOS 8, you may want to update using iTunes on a computer:
Update your device using iTunes
If you can’t update wirelessly, or if you want to update with iTunes, follow these steps:
Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer.
Plug in your device to your computer.
In iTunes, select your device.
In the Summary pane, click Check for Update.
Click Download and Update.
If you don't have enough free space to update using iTunes, you'll need to delete content manually from your device.

Please help! i have just update my iphone 4s with 7.4 update and my phone is now asking for a password which i dont have. I have tried my keypad lock i used before the update and also my itunes password and neither work, how do i rectify this ???

Can anyone help? I updated my iPhone 4 with latest iOS 7 and now wi fi is greyed out, Bluetooth won't work and tbh am so angry! Phone now out of warranty so apple won't help without it costing me. Don't want to pay as its an apple problem not phone problem. It worked ok before. Tried everything, even clearing it down. Can't even back it up now unless I connect to a pc!
I have not had wifi since November when I upgraded to the newest IOS version. I called the Apple help line and they told me some things to do and I tried them all and they worked for a few hours and then wifi shut off again. I kept doing what they told me and it worked for a couple more days and then I could never turn it on again. My blue tooth doesn't work either. I had to actually increase my data usage with AT&T becuase of this. When I did that in December I went to the Apple store and was told that it is a hardware issue and since my phone is out of warranty I would have to pay for a new phone because they could not fix the issue. My upgrade isn't up until June 2014 so not only do I have to wait for the upgrade and I am not paying for a new phone but I have to pay $10 plus extra a month on my cell phone bill because I was going over on my Data!!! I have been beyond upset about this and Apple is not doing anything about this nor did they offer up some way to resolve the issue because obviously it is not just some rare incident if several people are having this issue. Who knows how many people out there have had this issue and have not said anything about it. Now there is a newer update that I can't do because it requires wifi in order to download.
June can not get here fast enough and I may not go back to Iphone after dealing with this for so long with no help from Apple. -
I updated my iphone 4 with iO6.1. I no longer have any music on my phone even with itunes match. I've turned my phone off and on. I've turned my imac off and on. I've turned off imatch on my computer and turned it back on. I've turned imatch off on my phone and turned it back on. I spent HOURS on this yesterday. Coincidentally, two of my playlists were deleted from itunes. So I spent quite a bit of time recreating them only to find them missing again today. The ONLY way for me to get music on my phone is to click on the ...more tab and go to shared and pull music from my actual desktop. Restoring my iphone is not an option. I am completely frustrated so if anyone can help, that would be great

Take the following steps:
1) while connected to wifi, toggle off then back on the Show All Music and iTunes Match options shown in my original post. Important: I did this step before, but wasn't connected to wifi, and my music disappeared. Subsequently, I connected to wifi and turned off and then back on those options and everything came back though it was grayed out and my only option was to download music.
2) To get streaming over cellular back, go into Settings>General>Cellular and scroll down to the "Use Cellular Data for:" options and make sure the iTunes option is set to 'On'
The above steps will bring back the streaming capability which seemed to go away when you update to 6.1. It didn't ACTUALLY go away, but something about the update toggled off the iTunes option in step 2 above.
I did a final test by turning off wifi, opening Music app and selecting a song. It played successfully without downloading! Crossing my fingers, but I think I'm good to go!

I updated my iphone 4S with iOS 6.1.3 and now I cannot retreive or send my e-mails. We have an Exchange server at work. I still receive the e-mails on all my devices just fine and I can see the subject headings & a small portion of the body of the e-mail, but when I open the e-mails there is no body and it reads, "This message has not been downloaded from the server". Very aggrevating and is not helping my business at ALL!! Same has happened with both iPads we own now.
Delete then add back the exchange acct on each device.

please please help. today i tried to update my iphone 5 with the most recent update and it crashed. i had to restore it but i noticed that about 90 of my photos were deleted. i didnt back the phone up but i need to recover those photos. how can i do it?
If it's in recovery mode, the data is already gone. Why did you never back up your important data?

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone might be able to help? I updated my Iphone 5 with this IOS7 update a few days ago and seem to have lost all my photos. I tried a 'Restore' and then 'Back up from restore' in itunes but the phone kept going round in circles. It kept asking me [on the iphone] to select either 'Set up as new phone' or 'Restore from icloud' or 'Restore from itunes back up.' I chose 'Restore from backup' every time and just as I thought it had finished, it asked me to do the whole process over again. This happened several times. In the end I chose to 'Set up as new iphone' and then I was able to do a restore but the photo's never appeared. I did get all my Apps, Music and Contacts back on the phone.
I spoke with Apple today and they seem to think I didn't do a backup before updating to IOS7. Normally my itunes automatically does a sync and a back up when I connect the phone and I will get a warning message to prompt me if not. I've searched for the photo's in my Pictures folder on my lap top but they are not there. I don't use icloud [don't quite understand it but I'm getting there!] and the Apple advisor checked my Apple account and couldn't find any of the photos there. I've even tried to download a program to scan my phone for lost items but there's still no photos showing up.
Have I lost these photos for good or is there any way of getting them back?
Any advice appreciated.

I have downloaded a couple of these programmes which say they can help scan for missing photos. One of the programs scanned my itunes and found photos from a back up this August. I could see quite a few photos on there [the ones that I'm missing] but these programs only let you down load 2 files [photos] unless you register with them i.e I will have to pay.
So why isnt this back up for August showing up in the list 'restore from back up' when I'm connected to my itunes??
Its so frustrating knowing that the majority of the photos I'm missing are actually still there somewhere. Why do i have to pay another provider to get them back?? -
I have just updated my iphone 4s with ios7. Since then i cannot play movies from my netflix app using my av cable to tv. which i baught from an apple store. i get a message saying turn off mirroring on airplay. i dont have airplay or an apple TV. what can i do?

hope this message finds you all in time. The recent Apple TV update 5.1 is terrible. Apple knows it is which is why (thankfully for some relentless user -I have no idea who but I believe it was under threat) they have allowed to sign 5.0.2 again which means you can downgrade your Apple TV 2 and 3 to a 5.0.2 version via iTunes. Who knows how long they will keep the window open but I have downgraded my ATV early this morning. I couldn't post this earlier because I was out all day but I am doing it now.
Here's how to do it:
1) Connect your ATV to your computer via a Mini USB (not included with ATV but included with many other electronic devices) - in order for your ATV to appear in iTunes you must FIRST plug the USB cable to your computer and ATV and only THEN plug the power cable.
2) Download your ipsw restore file from Apple.
5.0.2 (ATV 2): AppleTV2,1_5.0.2_9B830_Restore.ipsw
5.0.2 (ATV 3): AppleTV3,1_5.0.2_9B830_Restore.ipsw
3) In iTunes select yout ATV, hold SHIFT and click on Restore
4) Find and choose the downloaded IPSW file in the Open Dialog Box and hit Next
5) As long as Apple still signs that version the Restore process will begin and will take a few minutes to complete.
