Undefined external error messages compiling in Borland C++ IDE

I'm using:
Win95 machine
Ni-daq 6.9.1
NI PCI-6025e DAQ card
Borland C++ Builder 5.0.12.34
When I try to compile my c project I get the following error:
[Linker Error] Unresolved external 'DIG_Out_Prt' referenced from C:\SCOTT\DLL_CODE\ELLIPSE_TEST1\WRITETOPB.OBJ
Here is the code I'm attempting to build:
#include
#include
#include
#include "c:\Program Files\National Instruments\Ni-daq\Include\nidaq.h"
__declspec(dllexport) long portWrite(void);
long portWrite(void){
long value;
long status;
value=(0x0001);
status=DIG_Out_Prt(1,2,value);
return status;
It is some very simple code just to test that I can get t
hese ni-daq functions to work in a dll that I can access from LabVIEW.
I found the knowledgebase article at this address (but either I can't follow it or it just does not solve the problem):

a2862562bb00067373?OpenDocument
Another thing that I found strange is that in nidaq.h the function is not DIG_Out_Prt (as stated in the user manual, and the example) but rather DIG_Out_Port. I don't understand the discrepancy.
As well I'm not sure if I should be configuring the port in my C code if I've already configured it in MAX.
Any insight or help with these matters would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott Allen

I can tell you that you do need to configure the board programmatically, not in MAX. The current C DAQ library does not support MAX configuration.
This forum is for discussion of Measurement Studio for Visual C++ and not for general C++ discussion. You would get a better response to this question if you posted it in the Multifunction IO or Digital IO section of Developer's Exchange.

    The document (0HMI568Z) you suggest is the one that I "specifically" stated in my question as the article which did not help my situation. Please read the post in its entirety before offering any suggestions. As this post has now been answered it is unlikely that anyone else who may know what's going on will take the time to look at it. This is unfortunate as I really need to figure out the solution to this problem.

  • Hi. I setup an external hard drive on my AirPort Extreme to act as a central disk for multiple iPhoto libraries. I have a new iMac with iPhoto '11 and an MBPro with iPhoto '09. I'm getting an error message saying different versions. Ideas?

    Long title. Sorry. It pretty much explains the situation. I'd like to have all of my photos from two (ultimately three) computers on this central file and be able to access them from any of the computers. The error message I get when I start up my MBPro is: "You can’t open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto" and, "You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iPhoto. Please quit and use the latest version of iPhoto." It then forces me to quit iPhoto. I have tried the suggestion of holding down the opt key on iPhoto startup, but it doesn't seem to help.
    Two questions:
    Can I store multiple iPhoto libraries on the same central disc?
    If so, how should I address the error message?
    Thank you!

    Hey Kappy, thank you for your help! Yes, I can open both libraries on the iMac without problem. I am still confused why the computer that created one of the libraries cannot open said library after it was moved to the external disk. Why is the iPhoto format not readable by all versions across the board?? The reason I'm pushing the issue is because in my household, we have an older MB, my wife's MBP, my MBP and now a new "family" iMac. The MB (circa 2007) has an old version of iPhoto, the two MBP's have iPhoto '08 and the new iMac has '11. It is my goal to have all of the photos that we've accrued over the years, located centrally, and accessible from all of these computers. Is iPhoto the most appropriate program, or would Lightroom make more sense?

  • Build Error Message "Compiler File Error"

    Whenever i try to burn a DVD in DVD studio pro i get this error message:
    "Starting DVD Build UNTITLED_DISC...
    Compiler File Error
    Build cancelled
    Formatting finished.
    Building was not successful. See log."
    This occurs no matter how big my project is, how many files i use, or what format. I thought originally the video files i were using to burn were corrupted, but i have since tried many different video files and many different formats. This message continues to come up. I have even reinstalled DVD Studio Pro and nothing has changed.
    I don't have any clue what's causing this message or how to fix it???
    I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE THE HELP! THANK YOU!

    Thanks for the help. I figured out the problem or at least one of the causes. I deleted the update: user->library->preferences->com.apple.dvdstudiopro.plist and it fixed it.
    That does not delete the update, it is deleting the preferences (which is one of the things always to do when things go nutso

  • "My Yahoo" page loads up as a blank white page, with no error messages or anything. Any ideas why?

    I started a thread on this topic many months ago, and have yet to see any reply for support for this topic. The issue I have had now for over 6 months is that Firefox will not load my "My Yahoo" page at all. I get no error messages or anything, just a blank, white screen when I try to load it. I can load this same page in IE as well as Chrome, but I much prefer to use Firefox if I can. I did follow all of the instructions and ideas that are out on the forum for handling similar problems such as this, but with no success. Clear Cache, History, etc, as well as disabling Add-Ons, restarting, etc, as well as setting proxy settings to No Proxy, etc, etc. Does anyone have ideas ideas as to why Firefox is no longer able to load "My Yahoo" page, but I am able to load things like my Yahoo Mail page successfully? Thank you in advance for any ideas anyone has on this.

    Firstly, a heartfelt "Thank You" for the prompt reply. I have gone through the steps you outlined above in the past, with no success, but I did them again just to be certain. One other thing that took place since posted this a few days ago, is that I "Updated Firefox, to 9.0.1 and after I did that, then Firefox would not even load at all. I kept getting a Firefox has crashed pop up, etc. So I figured before I could go through the steps you outlined above, I needed to "Uninstall and Reinstall" Firefox once again. I did this, and loaded the Yahoo Optimized version since apparently the generic version of Firefox, 9.0.1 must have some bugs that did not allow it to load up on my computer. After reloaded Firefox, I proceeded to go through the steps you have outlined above, and as typical, I still have the same problem, even in Safe Mode. My Yahoo comes up as a Blank White Page... no error messages or anything, just a blank white page. Since I have posted this I have been forced to use Google Chrome, and I really hate using that browser, but I don't know what else to do here. Any other ideas please? Thank you once again.
    Note: Even as I am typing this Firefox is coming up with a pop up window, suggesting I update to version 9.0.1 since it is a security and stability update. However I won't do this, because the last time I did, Firefox would not load at all.

    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
    Did the iOS device connect before?
    Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
    .- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

  • TS2634 While using my Ipod with a Sony sound dock, it randomly gives me an error message of "incompatibility."  Any ideas?

    While using my Ipod Touch with a Sony Sound dock, it randomly gives me an error message - "incompatible."  It honestly worked perfectly for an hour, then suddenly stopped being compatible?  Any ideas out there? I have:
    started, restarted.
    Plugged, unplugged.
    Tried dock with a different ipod- worked fine.
    Help!

    It's a Touch, not a phone, so not sure how to answer if it's a 4G... sorry:)
    Inspection doesn't yield anything obvious;  I've tried a soft toothbrush and air duster spray, to no avail...
    The Ipod touch does work on another device;  I'm still trying to figure out why it worked for several hours this morning, then get the message that "this device is not supported by this Ipod."   Wierd.

    Cool Edit Pro as far as I recollect could only use Direct X audio plugins. Perhaps your Waves plugins are VST which Cool Edit didn't support.

  • Why is 1.5 giving an error message on opening.wav files?

    I have recently bought an Olympus VN-8500PC Digital Voice Rrecorder but when I try to open the .wma files it creates into Audition I get an output device error message "undefined external error" the files will open into WMA just fine. I am running Windows 7 but have been lucky so far in that Audition 1.5 is fine.

    AA1.5 should be able to open these files without difficulty, certainly. You have several options here - firstly, try reinstalling it; this has been known to cure all sorts of problems that on the face of it, don't make sense. Secondly, post a small file somewhere so that somebody else can try opening it, because it's just possible that it's a non-standard file (although it shouldn't be). Thirdly, it's possible that it is a legitimate file, but the header isn't recognised correctly. To test this out, try opening it as a RAW file and then telling Audition that it's actually  WMA data - if it opens then, it's definitely the header at fault.
