Unresolved methods used in Java demos

createImageIcon() cannot be resolved, what class does it belong to ?
makeTextPanel() cannot be resolved, what class does it belong to ?
Can someone give me instructios to find the map that outlines the path to the secret garden containing the vase with the buried instructions on how to obtain the phsycic powers needed to work out how to call these god forsaken methods that are listed in the demos but cannot be resolved when I try to use them for f***k sake, what monkey is responsible for this mess ?
Why is everyone wasting my time ?

Problem solved:
I copied the *.JAVA example directly into my editor (Eclipse IDE) and it worked with no reolution issues.
I edited the example to suit my needs.
I do not know or care why my original source code was having issues resolving these methods.
It works now, so that's good.
I don't have time for understanding, only results matter.

  • Difference between invoking a method using reflect.proxy and reflect.Method

    Could any one tell me the difference between invoking a method using reflection java.lang.reflect.Method and java.lang.reflect.Proxy
    using both the class, we can invoke a method at runtime
    1)
    Method mthd=cl.getMethod("methodName",parameterName);
    Integer output=(Integer)mthd.invoke(new RunMthdRef(),input);
    2)
    Proxy.newProxyInstance(super.getClass().getClassLoader(), new Class[] { adapter }, new SomeClass(this));
    Does anybody have any idea?

    The two idioms are fundamentally different. Using java.lang.reflect.Method is how we call a method on a class, using Proxy is how we intercept that method call. An exercise for you, to illustrate that they do not do the same thing: write a simple class with one method, then use java.lang.reflect.Method to invoke that method, and then use a Proxy to invoke that method

  • Synchronized method in a java class used by many interfaces

    My interface (idoc to file) is using a java class, which has one method that reads a table from a central database and after doing some calculations updates it.
    (The interface instantiate the class inside a user-defined function and calls the method there.)
    The problem is that if somebody sends 100 idocs at the same time, there can be a “dirty read”, I mean, a read just before other interface updates the table.
    We want the following:
    Interface 1:
    -          Read counter from the table (counter = 5 )
    -          Increment counter (counter = 6)
    -          Update table with that counter (table with counter = 6)
    Interface 2:
    -          Read counter from the table (counter = 6 )
    -          Increment counter (counter = 7)
    -          Update table with that counter (table with counter = 7)
    RESULT: The table has the counter = 7
    But what is happening is the following:
    -          Interface 1 reads (counter = 5)
    -          Interface 2 reads (counter = 5)
    -          Interface 1 increments counter (counter = 6)
    -          Interface 2 increments counter (counter = 6)
    -          Interface 1 updates table (table with counter = 6)
    -          Interface 2 updates table (table with counter = 6)
    RESULT: The table has the counter = 6 (WRONG)
    I made the method synchronized. What I was expecting was that only one interface (i1) could enter the method (read the table and update it) while other interfaces running at the same time would have to wait until i1 finished that method.
    My first test indicates that's not happening. Can anybody help me to find a solution?

    Hi Bhavesh,
    If the QOS is EOIO this means that the integration engine manage the call to the mapping program (and all the other blocks) inside an "internal" synchronized method.
    So this means that in this case you do not need to manage the queued access (synchronization) inside your custom java code because it is already enveloped in a queued block by XI.
    The problem that Jorge had can be easily reproduced using the sample code that follows:
    <b>class Synch Object</b>
    import java.util.Date;
    public class SynchObject {
         String strName;
         public SynchObject(String strName){
              this.strName = strName;
         public synchronized void syncWrite(String strCaller) throws InterruptedException{
              Date now;
              now = new Date();
              System.out.println("-- " + now.toLocaleString() + " " + strCaller + " entering syncWrite of " + strName);
              System.out.flush();
              Thread.sleep(1000);
              now = new Date();
              System.out.println("-- " + now.toLocaleString() + " syncWrite of " + strName + " called by " + strCaller );
              System.out.flush();
              Thread.sleep(1000);
              now = new Date();
              System.out.println("-- " + now.toLocaleString() + " " + strCaller + " leaving syncWrite of " + strName);
              System.out.println("");
              System.out.flush();
    <b>class Caller</b>
    public class Caller implements Runnable {
         String strName;
         SynchObject target;
         int intMax;
         public Caller(String strName, SynchObject target, int intMax) {
              this.strName = strName;
              this.target = target;
              this.intMax = intMax;
         public void run() {
              for(int i=0; i<intMax;i++)
                   try {
                        target.syncWrite(strName);
                   } catch (InterruptedException e) {
                        e.printStackTrace();
    <b>class Workbench</b>
    public class Workbench {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              // TODO Auto-generated method stub
              SynchObject sObj1 = new SynchObject("syncObj1");
              SynchObject sObj2 = new SynchObject("syncObj2");
              Caller c1 = new Caller("caller1",sObj1,2);
              Caller c2 = new Caller("caller2",sObj1,2); '[*CHANGE*]
              Thread ct1 = new Thread(c1);
              Thread ct2 = new Thread(c2);
              ct1.start();
              ct2.start();
    Run the workbench class to see what happen when setting QOS EOIO (the synch object is the same).
    To see instead what happen now (missing synchronization) you have to change in Workbench class the statement
    Caller c2 = new Caller("caller2",sObj1,2); '[*CHANGE*]
    with
    Caller c2 = new Caller("caller2",sObj2,2); '[*CHANGE*]
    The reason is that every instance of the mapping program declare a new instance of the "Synchronized object" so the calls are synchronized inside the same mapping program but not between several mapping program.
    Hope this give you a better idea on this problems with java synchronization, but if you have further doubts (I know it's a little bit tricky ) feel free to ask.
    Kind Regards,
    Sergio

    Hi, I have an application running on weblogic that I want to undeploy using a Java method or call.
    Is there any way to do that with a weblogic specific API or something like?
    Thank you!

    Hi Carolina,
    Please ignore My previous response…I have found the reason why the “start()”was not functioning properly…. The application takes some time to get distributed …Before that “start()” should not be invoked…so Please put some Thread.sleep() there….
    Target deployTargets[]=new Target[1];
    deployTargets[0]=targets[0];
    ProgressObject processStatus=deployManager.distribute(deployTargets, new File(applicationLocation), null,options);
    DeploymentStatus deploymentStatus=processStatus.getDeploymentStatus() ;
    System.out.println(“UnDeploymentStayus.getMessage(): “+deploymentStatus.getMessage() );
    <font color=red>
    ////////////////////////HERE WE NEED To SLEEP Sothat APPLICATION GETS DISTRIBUTED SUCCESSFULLY////////
    Thread.sleep(5000);

    TargetModuleID[] targetModuleIDs=deployManager.getAvailableModules(ModuleType.WAR, deployTargets);
    System.out.println(“\n\t targetModuleIDs [] = “+targetModuleIDs);

  • How to return a object from a method in a java program to a C++ call (JNI )

    Sir,
    I am new to java and i have been assigned a task to be done using JNI.
    My question is,
    How can i return an object from a method in a java program to a call for the same method in a C++program using JNI.
    Any help or suggesstions in this regard would be very useful.
    Thanking you,
    Anjan Kumar

    Hello
    I would like to suggest that JNI should be your last choice and not your first choice. JNI is hard to get right. Since the JNI code is executing in the same address space as the JVM, any problems (on either side) will take down the entire process. It dilutes the Write Once Run Anywhere (WORA) value proposition because you need to provide the JNI component for all hardware/OS platforms. If you can keep your legacy code(or whatever you feel you need to do in JNI) in a separate address space and communicate via some inter-process channel, you end up with a system that is more flexible, portable, and scalable.
    Having said all that, head over to the Java Native Interface: Programmer's Guide and Specification web page:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/jni/
    Scroll down to the Download the example code in this book in ZIP or tar.gz formats. links and download the example source. Study and run the example sources. The jniexamples/chap5/MyNewString demo creates a java.lang.String object in native code and returns it to the Java Language program.

  • Passing Parameters via Post Method from Webdynpro Java to a web application

    Hello Experts,
    I want to pass few parameters from a web dynpro application to an external web application.
    In order to achieve this, I am referring to the below thread:
    HTTP Post
    As mentioned in the thread, I am trying to create an additional Suspend Plug parameter (besides 'Url' of type String) with name 'postParams' and of type Map.
    But when I build my DC, I am getting the same error which most of the people in the thread have mentioned:
    Controller XXXCompInterfaceView [Suspend]: Outbound plug (of type 'Suspend') 'Suspend' may have at most two parameters: 'Url' of type 'string' and 'postParams' of type 'Map'.
    I am using SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio Version: 7.01.00
    Kindly suggest if this is the NWDS version issue or is it something else that I am missing out.
    Also, if it is the NWDS version issue please let me know the NWDS version that I can use to avoid this error.
    Any other suggestion/alternative approach to pass the parameters via POST method from webdynpro java to an external web application apart from the one which is mentioned in the above thread is most welcome.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Anurag

    Hi,
    This is purely a java approach, even you can try this for your requirement.
    There are two types of http calls synchronous call or Asynchronous call. So you have to choose the way to pass parameters in post method based on the http call.
    if it is synchronous means, collect all the values from users/parameters using UI element eg: form and pass all the values via form to the next page is nothing but your web application url.
    If it is Asynchronous  means, write a http client in java and integrate the same with your custom code and you can find an option for sending parameters in post method.
    here you go and find the way to implement Asynchronous  scenario,

    I assume here that your application is deployed on a different physical machine of where LCES is deployed and running.
    Do the following test:
    - Say that LCES is deployed on machine1 and your application is deployed on machine2. Ping machine1 from machine2 and note the ip address.
    - Ping machine1 from machine1 and note the ip address.
    The two pings should match.
    - Ping machine2 from machine1 and note the ip address.
    - Ping machine2 from machine2 and note the ip address.
    The two pings should match.
    Usually this kind of error would happen if your servers have internal and external ip addresses.

    JAVA Mapping :If you have complex mapping in your scenarios and also some times if you have more than 100 field to map then better to choose the JAVA MApping
    Java Mapping uses 2 types of parsers. DOM and SAX. DOM is easier to use with lots of classes to help you create nodes and elements, but, DOM is very processor intensive.
    SAX parser is something that parses your XML one after the other, and so is not processor intensive. But, it is not exactly easy to develop either.
    DOM and SAX are APIs
    In NWDS we have to develop the mapping and create jar and archieve and import it under Iported archieved in IR. this can be used in Interface mapping.

  • How to import custom java jar/class into oracle to be used in java proc ?

    Hi
    I would like to know how to import custom java jar/class files into oracle to be used in java stored procedure.
    I am developing a oracle pl/sql procedure to call java program. The java program will be created as procedure and will be published.
    But, my question is that I do have a other external jar/class file that need to be imported into this java program.
    example
    raise_sal.java
    import java.util.*;
    import oracle.sql.*;
    <<reference other java programs >>
    import cmpmsgsvc.xxxx.* ;
    import cmpmsgsvc.yyyy.* ;
    import cmpmsgsvc.zzzz.* ;
    how do I import the cmpmsgsvc jar/class file into oracle so that I don't have any
    compilation errros on raise_sal.java program ??
    what are the steps to import/compile and validate to do this?
    thanks for your help in advance.
    Thanks

    Problem is that, I have 6 jar files that are needed to be included in the main java program. And, there are more than 50+ classes, propertiers in those 6 jar files.
    It might be not good idea to have all those 50+ classes in the production database.
    Is there anyway that I keep all those 6 jar files in unix box (our's is oracle erp installation with oracle being installed on unix box) and just refer them in the main java program. I mean database will be loaded with main java program and it should able to refer other 6 jar files from unix.
    if we create a directory and keep all jar files in there and include that directory in classpath variable, does this works? or what is other method?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks

  • [E2010][EWS-XML][JAVA]How to get the properties of meeting rooms in Exchange 2010 using EWS Java API

    When you look at meeting room properties in Outlook 2010, you can see 'City', 'Country/Region' and 'Department' information.
    Is there any way to get this information using EWS Java API?

    Hi Glen,
    I am able to understand what u have said, but do not know how to implement it with meeting rooms....
    If i am implementing
    "Get all appointments between startDate and endDate in the specified folder, including recurring meeting occurrences" in ews-java-api, as you have mentioned above, i am able to get only my appointments from the start date to end date , as i
    have given my email id and password, how to get my organization meeting room details, booked or not.
    static ExchangeService service = new ExchangeService(ExchangeVersion.Exchange2010_SP2);
    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
    // TODO Auto-generated method stub
    ExchangeCredentials credentials = new WebCredentials("[email protected]", "zzzz");
    service.setCredentials(credentials);
    try {
    System.out.println("Check");
    service.autodiscoverUrl("[email protected]",new RedirectionUrlCallback());
    } catch (Exception e) {
    // TODO Auto-generated catch block
    e.printStackTrace();
    NameResolutionCollection nameResolutions = service.resolveName("SDB1",ResolveNameSearchLocation.DirectoryOnly, true);
    System.out.println("nameResolutions==="+nameResolutions.getCount());
    for(NameResolution nameResolution : nameResolutions)
    System.out.println("NAME==="+nameResolution.getContact().getDisplayName());
    The above code gives me the output like, the meeting room in my organization with word SDB1 are
    Output:
    nameResolutions===2
    NAME===SDB1- TELCON - 1
    NAME===SDB1-TELCON - 2
     for. eg. I need to know today at what are the appointments in the room SDB1-TELCON2 and who all have booked the room.
    I do not know how to implement for the meeting room can you please help me how to give it.
    Thanks in advance.

    As I suggested in your OTHER threads - the BEST WAY to learn, and often the fastest, is to TRY THINGS yourself.
    Just posting code you get from the internet and asking others to modify it for you won't teach you anything.
    Go through The Java Tutorials. There are trails for ALL of the basic functionality that include working, sample code.
    This is the trail on 'Packages':

  • Problem calling applet method using IE

    I've searched through the forum and can't seem to find anything that can help me fix this. I'm trying to call an applet's method using Javascript. This is working fine under Netscape, but not IE. Everything I've read seems to indicate that I'm doing this right, but I'm getting "Object doesn't support this property or method" when I try to call the applet method from IE.
    In this example method, I'm trying to call the applet's countChars method, which should return the length of the string you pass into it. Works under Netscape 6.2, but not IE 6.0
    Here's my applet code:
    import java.lang.String;
    public class test extends java.applet.Applet {
    public static int countChars(String s) {
    return s.length();
    And my HTML
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <script language="Javascript">
    function refreshApplet()
    /*     i = document.forms.myForm.TestApplet.countChars();
         document.forms.myForm.output.value=i; */
         document.forms.myForm.output.value=document.applets["TestApplet"].countChars(document.forms.myForm.input.value);
    </script>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <APPLET CODE = "test.class" WIDTH = 400 HEIGHT = 400 ALIGN = middle NAME = "TestApplet" scriptable="true">
    </APPLET>
    <br>
    <form name="myForm">
    <input type="text" name="input">
    <input type="button" value="click me" onClick="refreshApplet();">
    <hr>
    <input type="text" name="output">
    </form>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>
    Thanks in advance!

    I have very similar problem, my applet works OK using Netscape (6.2 and 7.0), but with IE 6.0 It only works with windows XP;
    The reported error is "Object doesn't support this property or method"
    Can someone please help me to solve this problem.
    Cheers

    This is my code:
    - I call the applet using javaScript and input the method setData with two strings.
    function graphic()
         var dataZenith;

         dataZenith = graphicZENith(); //Call other Javascript functions
         dataManual = graphicManual(); //Call other Javascript functions
         document.AppletOne.setData(dataZenith,dataManual);
    I run the applet with this HTML code:
