Hi, have a ServletTest.java compiled, whenever I try to deply using the SUN Deploytool i get an Exception -> Unsupported major.minor version 48.0
What does it means.

This is the message I get when opening up a Word doc from a cross-country client:

Unfortunately, he's out of touch for the next week so I have no idea which version he is using...although a look using BBEdit reveals this in the footer of the doc: Microsoft Word for Windows.
Is there a list of supported and unsupported versions of Word, so I can be prepared for my next encounter with this message?

If you can open it up, is the formatting of great importance, or is it just the information you need? If its info, copy from BBEdit and paste into your Pages doc. Sometimes you can open it in text edit and then save as a different format. (I think its text edit, one of the OSX word processors opens word docs ok.)
Sorry, this also appears as a problem in Numbers (believe it or not, its also a problem with Office 2007 for windows too). The explanation gets a bit complicated, but there are so many variations of how a M$ document is created. (not all docs are made by M$ products remember, but exported from other programs on different systems, even if it says "Word for windows").
Because of the varied amount of things that can be wrong (that M$ products seem to overlook, or fill in the gaps that would normally cause an error), there is no hard list of non-compatible versions.
This is just as we ( a bunch of nerds here and around the web), have found out from experimenting with different versions and such.

You could try opening the Excel document with LibreOffice and then resaving it in a compatible version before opening in Numbers.

Hello,
Try uninstalling 488.2 driver, then uninstall MAX and then reinstall the 2.1 version for 488.2 from CurrentGPIB driver versions. Also make sure you are the administrator while you uninstall and reinstall.
I have not seen this problem happen before so I hope uninstalling and reinstalling helps solve this problem.

ADFv: Unsupported operation exception.

Hi ,
I am using for development my newly application as JDeveloper11gR2/ADF11g
Currently I am getting Error When I doing Multiple row selection(select all row) by pressing Ctrl+A then a error shows as "ADFv: Unsupported operation exception." . But it works selected all row after prompting that error! :)
I have search over google but did not find any solution .
Did any one faced such problem? Please let me know with your solution .

Based on the following note in JDeveloper 11g User Guide, i have removed the property settings for selectionListener and selectedRowKeys propery value in the table where multiple selection is enabled. These proper settings are set by default as the signle row selection is table's default behaviour. Removing these property values are fixed the error.
Note: You should not select the Row Selection checkbox, because
when you do, JDeveloper automatically binds the
selectionListener attribute to the makeCurrent method on the
CollectionModel class and the selectedRowKeys attribute to the
selectedRow property on that class. Both are designed to work only
for single selection tables. Make sure that for any table for which you
need multiple selection, that neither of these attributes are populated.

On my new Asus N550JV with pre-installed Windos8, I have many times a fall-out of the Network connection with WIFI since I used Windows 8 and after upgrade to Windos 8.1 Did not solve this problem.

Based on the description, you get message "You are running an unsupported version of Microsoft Windows.(Windows8.1)" when you use the DETEKT tool to detect Windows Server version.
For this issue, I recommend you ask in the Windows forum which is staffed by more experts specializing in this kind of problems. You can get better help there.

Office 365 hosted Exchange Outlook 2013 "The resource you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft Exchange"

I have Outlook 2013 downloaded from my Office 365 account and am getting the error "The resource you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft Exchange". I have added all the steps I have followed so far below.
We changed over to the Office 365 hosted Exchange from 2003 Small Business Server yesterday. I have backed up my Outlook 2010 then uninstalled all Office applications and rebooted.  Then downloaded the Office 2013 suite from my account
and installed it.  Ran the desktop setup to "Set up your desktop applications to work with Office 365."  Went to the control panel and launched the mail tool, made the
profile and named it Outlook and it auto filled with the correct info.  Clicked Next and it all checked as good, but when I launch Outlook I get the error "The resource you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft
Exchange". I have rebooted the laptop and recreated the account three times with the same results.
Any suggestions?

OK. So we solved the problem. At least in my case.
We deleted the profile again then jumped on a neighbors wifi and then ran the desktop setup from Office 365 again. Then we launched the mail setup tool, created a new profile and entered the information for the account. After this took we launched
Outlook and everything is working fine.
One thing to point out is that prior to the time that it worked, when I would create the profile and open it to set it up, it would auto fill the two available fields Name and Email Address. On the last run it didn't auto fill and I had four fields
to fill out. Name, Email Address and Password (x2).

5420 "unsupported version"

Wondering if anyone's seen this one. 5420, 2.1.2 running. Any initiator I try to connect -- Cisco (Windows and Linux), MS, Novell, old versions, new versions, -- is rejected with an "unsupported version" reason. Ethereal trace shows an error 0205 and that the target version max = 2 and the version active = 2, where the initiator proposes 0 in both fields. Same failure occurs with 1.1.5... any ideas?

You are probably trying to use draft 20 drivers on the initiators and the 5420 only understands up to draft 8. The 5428 and 5428-2 began using the draft 20 specifications with the 3.x code. 2.x code is draft 8 and that is the highest the 5420 can run.

Unsupported version of Excel

I could not open a downloaded .xls spreadsheet with Numbers. I got an error message that it was an unsupported version of Excel. Any ideas how I might open it?

You might be able to open it in a free program like open office and save as a newer version of excel.
Otherwise you need to find the originator of the file and ask that they save in a newer version. (Or someone else that has a newer excel that can open it and do a save as)

Was it created with an older version of Excel? Do you know anyone who has a newer version of Excel and can resave it for you? There may be a standalone converter but I'm not aware of it.

i'm using microsoft sql server 2000, and keep getting this "unsupported method" exception when trying to use the beforeFirst method from the ResultSet object. the only method i can get to work is next. has anyopne ever come across this problem?

I'm not really familiar with the SQL Server JDBC Drivers, but I would be surprised if they didn't support this feature. One thing you could do is verify that you are working with the correct cursor. In order to move back and forth within a ResultSet, you need to use a cursor that allows it. When creating a Statement or PreparedStatement, you can provide cursor information using defined CONSTANTS.prepareStatement ps = conn.prepareStatement(sql,ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE,

I assumed that it was due to the java-compiler pointing at the wrong JDK so I made the necessary changes to the server.xml. However, this has not made ant difference.
Has anybody else encountered this problem, and if so how did they fix it?

I guess you have windows, and the environment path you can set through dialog of system settings. Right click 'my computer' and choose properties. Find the button for environment settings. Somewhere here you will see Oracle has added som reference to the 1.3 version. Adjust this so it works.
Or, you can run the actual correct verssion of Java you would like from the commandline.
Instead of running:
c:\>java <Program name>try running by spesifying the correct java.exe path:
C:\>c:\program files\java\jre 1.6.0_07\bin\java.exe <program name>Hope this will help
