"Unterminated value for attribute '' in XML Tag ''.(SBL-UIF-00265)"

Getting this message when I do Edit Web Layout for a view in Siebel tools 7.8.2 "Unterminated value for attribute '' in XML tag ''.(SBL-UIF-00265)"...Anyone have any idea why I am getting this message?

Thanks Joseph,
Actually I looked at the Refer ID 1280569.1 before also, some how I could not figured it out the exact location as I was searching for two "(double quotes).
Today I tried again and finally I found out the culprit. In my case actually there was no two double quotes, instead the " (double quote) was missing.
Thanks again.

• Spec oversight? Using dynamic-attributes in XML tag files

I have a couple of tagfiles that generate form elements with specific conventions for the 'name' and 'value' attribute. Basically, a data binding framework.
Dynamic attributes are useful because you can delegate all the usual html attributes to the generated HTML form element: SELECT, INPUT, id, class etc.
The usual way to do this is to concatenate all the "pass-through" attributes to a string, and append this string to the element generated:
<input type="hidden" name="foo" ${dynattrs}/>I'm wondering how to do this in a tagfile in XML format (mytag.tagx), since the XML format forbids syntax like in the example above.
jsp:attribute won't help much, if it's nested inside a c:forEach: it won't apply to the right element.

Ran into the same problem with 'optional attributes'. (see post "JSP 2.0 Tag files outputting elements with conditional attributes" http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=45&threadID=681033)
Found a solution that is not very elegant but does work and saves you the trouble of reverting to Java Tags. Consider the following tag-file that outputs an html input-tag with conditional attributes:

<jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="1.2"
xmlns:c="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core">
<jsp:directive.attribute name="name" required="true" type="java.lang.String"/>
<jsp:directive.attribute name="id" required="false" type="java.lang.String"/>
<jsp:directive.attribute name="value" required="false" type="java.lang.String"/>
<jsp:directive.attribute name="disabled" required="false" type="java.lang.Boolean"/>
<jsp:directive.attribute name="hint" required="false" type="java.lang.String"/>
<jsp:directive.attribute name="cssClass" required="false" type="java.lang.String"/>
<jsp:text><input type="text" name="<c:out value="${name}"/>"</jsp:text>
<c:if test="${!empty id}"> id="<c:out value="${id}"/>"</c:if>
<c:if test="${!empty cssClass}"> class="<c:out value="${disabled?(cssClass + '-disabled'):cssClass}"/>"</c:if>
<c:if test="${disabled}"> disabled="disabled"</c:if>
<c:choose>
<c:when test="${!empty value}"> value="<c:out value="${value}"/>"</c:when>
<c:when test="${!empty hint}"> value="<c:out value="${hint}"/>" onfocus="if(this.value=='<c:out value="${hint}"/>')this.value='';"</c:when>
</c:choose>
<jsp:text>/></jsp:text>
</jsp:root>In answer to your question: Yes, it looks like an oversight. Using the jsp:attribute tag in a c:forEach doesn't work because the attribute is then applied to the forEach tag. You would have to put the attribute-tag inside a jsp:body tag (inside the forEach). Then it would apply not to the forEach tag but to the tag enclosing the forEach. However, this doesn't work either, or at least it doesn't work in Tomcat 5.5. Could be a bug though, JSP 2.0 is still very buggy (for instance, using a tagfile inside another tagfile from the same taglib doesn't seem to work either...)
Anyway, if you ever find a good solution please let me know by posting to this topic!
TIA

Maybe the problem#1 can be solved with a simple pl/sql using REPLACE statement. start with the <RESPONSE and look for the end > and get the entire string and replace that with only <RESPONSE> or maybe you can achieve this using xmldom to delete the attributes as part of the element.
PRoblem#2 can be solved in this way.
select xmlelement("MY_RESPONSE",
xmltype('<RESPONSE xmlns="http://testserver" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://testserver response.xsd">

• Oracle UCM distinct values for attribute in GET_SEARCH_RESULTS ResultSet

hi, can anyone, please, tell if there is a way to get a distinct values of resultset of GET_SEARCH_RESULTS?
I mean, is it possible to obtain distinct values with custom where values of attribute through api?
I need to build somewhat like autosuggest feature, but afaik there is no such service.
Alternatives are
- build my own service which can accept query text, pass it to GET_SEARCH_RESULTS, get results, calculate distinct and output it in hda - i dont like this idea, becouse it means getting whole result set into java while it is efficient to handle in DB
- customize CHECK_IN/UPDATE services to update cached distincts (that means no grouping on custom queries)
May be there was some sort of discussion or blog note?
Thanks in advance.

If you do not declare "SearchEngineName" as part of the request, whatever value is defined in config.cfg is used. This behavior is by design.
Setting it in your request allows you to override the system setting in order to use another search engine, provided that the rest of the underlying parts are in place for the engine you are trying to use. For example, if your system setting is "DATABASE.METADATA", setting your individual request to "ORACLETEXTSEARCH" will probably fail, since the Oracle full text indexes would not exist. But if you are doing just metadata searching based on a couple of columns, and don't need the full text part for the request, it's a good way to craft a very specific search. Combined with a couple of database indexes on the columns in the where clause, it's also a good performer.
I do "SearchEngineName=DATABASE" usually in conjunction with the parameter "SearchQueryFormat=Native" so I can create some database specific queries in native SQL (and thus avoiding the need to figure out the exact internet or universal syntax.) Your mileage may vary.

• DataWriter - removing attributes from xml tag at the start of document

Hi,
I'm using DataWriter for generating a large XML document, however I do not want the attributees of the starting xml tag to appear in the final file.
Eg: I do not want to output the part highlighted in red.
What could be the possible ways to do it? I prefer if it can be removed in the begining itself instead of parsing the document and removing in the end.

• Set default value for checkbox in XML definition

Hi,
I'ld like to set a default value to a checkbox (bound to UserDataSource) within the XML definition of my form.
Is this possible, and if so, how??
I'ld also like to know if there is a description available of all possible tags/combination in XML batchactions.
Kind regards,
Joeri

Hi Joeri.
I'm afraid you can't do that via XML, I think the only way to ensure that you have your box checked is through a UserDataSource, so use the Collections tab to connect your checkbox to an appropriate UserDataSource, and in the code, you can re-bind the checkbox to another datasource.
I hope my idea was clear

if ME->LOCK( ) = FALSE.
return.
endif.
endif.
flag entity as modified
ME->MY_MANAGER_ENTRY->DELTA_FLAG = IF_GENIL_CONTAINER_OBJECT=>DELTA_CHANGED.
endif.
ME->ACTIVATE_SENDING( ).
change value
<VALUE> = IV_VALUE.
log change
set bit LV_IDX of ME->CHANGE_LOG->* to INDICATOR_SET.
endif.
else.
check if it is a real read-only field or a display mode violation
assert id BOL_ASSERTS subkey 'READ-ONLY_VIOLATION'
fields ME->MY_INSTANCE_KEY->OBJECT_NAME
IV_ATTR_NAME
condition ME->CHANGEABLE = ABAP_TRUE.
endif.
and in debugging I found that if part ( ME->IS_CHANGEABLE( ) = ABAP_TRUE and
LV_PROPS_OBJ->GET_PROPERTY_BY_IDX( LV_IDX ) ne IF_GENIL_OBJ_ATTR_PROPERTIES=>READ_ONLY) fails and hence else part is getting executed and hence my field a real read-only field or a display mode violation is happening according to comments in code.
What shall I do so that I would be able to change the screen field value?
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hi,
Try this:
data: lr_entity type cl_crm_bol_entity.
lr_entity = me->typed_context->crechkresph->collection_wrapper->get_current( ).
lr_entity->set_property( iv_attr_name = 'PO_NUMBER' value = '').
Also, make sure the field is not read-only.

• Search for, edit, and delete XML tag (Adobe InDesign Server CS5)

Hi all,
I'm working with Indesign Server CS5 and JavaScript, though having some trouble coming up with a solution to a problem...
I need to build a JS script (called through SOAP) that will enable me to search an InDesign file for a given XML tag.
Upon finding the XML tag, if the 'action' variable is set to delete, it should delete the tag and its contents.
If the action is set to edit, it should change the contents of the tag to some user-specified content.
The primary caveat is that the XML tag is variable, as is the XML structure of the InDesign file.
Here's what I have in mind, in pseudocode:
function findXMLTag(tag, action) {
app.searchForTag(tag);
if (tagIsFound) {
if (action == "delete") {
tag.delete;
} else if (action == "edit") {
tag.contents = "Updated content";
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Ben Kay

'searchForTag' can be implemented as a recursive function.
Recursion is defined like this: I thought, "I'll just search this forum for 'recursion'." The first post I found was one of my own, suggesting that the poster should search the forum for 'recursion'.
Here is an example: find the XML Element [
]
And another: Remove xml element using JS[CS3] (read carefully, as the OP got stuck on how to successfully remove an element and continue)
And one, using XML Rules -- which I'm totally unfamiliar with, but may work for you: Changing Values in XML tags

To get the tag name, you can use the following XSL stylesheet:

<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
<xsl:template match="node()">
<xsl:value-of select="name()"/> <xsl:text> </xsl:text>
<xsl:apply-templates/>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>
