Unzip the disk1 files

I can't unzip the zipped disk 1 files for the installation of Oracle 9i database. I find no programme for the unzip of the files with the file extention .cpio

Hi Hugo,
1) Create directories to extract the files { say
Disk 1 , Disk 2 , Disk 3 }
2) cd Disk1
3) cpio -idmv < filename.cpio
or
cpio -idmv < filename.cpio.gz

  • Problem in unzipping the zip files

    Hi,
    I have created a program to unzip the zip files. But when i try to zip it is creating the zipped files outside the folder where it is to be zipped.
    what is wrong with my code.
    if the zip file is migration.zip
    if the path inside the zip file shows
    and the path inside says this
    /codebase/scripts/
    it would create migration folder and create codebase folder outside the migration folder

  • Problem in Unzipping the zip file

    Hi
    I have created a program to unzip the zip files in the folder named after the zip file
    it is working well well when u try to zip zip files put in a directory
    i.e u create a folder name contents and put files into that and then zip it
    but when u directly create a zip file , without putting in a folder
    it creates the folder and zip the files outside the folder
    Another problem is that with the path
    for e.g. suppose the zip file name is contents and path should show
    contents/filename.txt but there are some other files whose path shows
    res/file.txt. In this case it creates a folder of res and put it outside the
    folder with the name of zip file
    I have pasted my code :
    //Unzip the zip files to the folder with their name
    import java.io.BufferedReader;
    import java.io.File;
    import java.io.FileOutputStream;
    import java.io.FilenameFilter;

  • Unable to unzip the downloaded files

    So that we may better diagnose DOWNLOAD problems, please provide the following information.
    After downloaded the 9i for Windows (disk1,disk2,disk3). I cnnot unzip the file. I get the foloowing message from WinZip message box: "The WinZip Wizard cannot open this file; it does not appear to be a valid archive. If you downloaded this file, try downloading again. If you want to add the file to an archive, first create or open the archive, then drop the file again."
    I downloaded the file again and still get the same message. What do I need to do? Thank you for your help.
    - Server name
    - Filename 92010NT_disk1.zip
    - Date/Time
    - Browser + Version
    - O/S + Version
    - Error Msg

    It is quite easy to solve your problem. Double click your disk1 or anyone of the 3 and right click the zipped folder then click on extract all. Do the same for all the 3 disks. You should find at the end exe file on disk1. Good luck

  • Error in unzipping the downloaded file

    I am having problems in unzipping the downloaded oracle personal version 8i file.
    Server name : PC pentium II intel
    File name : psoracle81798
    Date/Time : 07/10/2002 9.50 pm ET
    Browser : IE
    O/S : Windows 98
    Error Msg : the unzip software programs gives this error : Header Error .. (missing or corrupt)
    Please help to unzip and install.
    Thanks,
    Adi

    I am getting the same problem when trying to download the Oracle 9i Disk1 and Disk2. Disk3 works fine.
    Looking at the file sizes they are 1/3 of what the size says that it will download.
    Disk1 is over 50MB what is downloaded is only 277MB. It looks like it goes through as the ftp stops and then I see a boz come up copying the file from a temp area to the directory I specified.
    I am on IE 5.50. with 128 bit encryption. I am on a Win2K server.
    What is the solution here? I've been trying to download for 3 days now.

    I've written a replacement zip file creator class. Not much tested but it seems to work, however I've yet to try it with the version of WINZIP that rejected my previous attempts. Oh, and the stored dates are garbage.

  • Where in Photoshop directory do I unzip the following file

    Hi,
    I found some royalty free frames on the internet that I used before, but I reinstalled my Adobe Photoshop CS due to computer problems, and can't remember where I extract the file to. The link is as follows:
    http://gimei.deviantart.com/art/15-illustration-frames-61296653
    It's the 15 ornate frames downloaded in a .zip file. I have Win 7. Please help. Thanks in advance.

    It's a psd file with frames on different layers, so it doesn't install in any specific place for photoshop.
    Just unzip the file in the place of your choosing, open the psd in photoshop and drag a frame over to
    the photo you want to use it on.

  • Cannot unzip the image file from Sun

    I have downloaded the first compressed install CD image file from Sun. But it cannot be unzip. I used almost all of the unzip software(such as Winzip, WinRAR, PKUNZIP for DOS and for Windows).
    Anybody can help me?

    OK! I downloaded for the 5th time without using GetRight and I can now unzip the file in question. For some reason GetRight chokes on this zip file only. All of the other images were downloaded using GetRight and they unzipped just fine. Go figure...
    My reccomendation to anyone else using a download tool like GetRight and having the same problem is to disabled the tool temporarily and just do a normal download through your browser.
    Hope someone finds this useful.
    Bob C.
    Make that another ditto!!! I have downloaded the
    first CD image for x86 Solaris 4 times now. Each time
    the download has succeeded without error, but I can
    not open the zip file. I have been using GetRight 4.3
    to do the download rather than straight FTP or HTTP so
    maybe this is the issue, but I have never had a
    problem using this tool before.
    Help anyone!?!?!?!

  • Not unzip the .gz file

    I am installed Solaris 8 on the sun sparc machine. i want to install the ssh on the solaris. i have download from sunfreeware.com. but i am not able to unzip the .gz package. can any boyd help me.

    If it's from sunfreeware, it won't be a tar file.
    Sunfreeware has a big red link on the left that details how to install their packages (including run gunzip on them)
    http://www.sunfreeware.com/download.html
    If you don't have gzip for some reason, you can get the sunfreeware package, and it is not compressed.

  • Unzip the freeware file

    I downloaded all the files of Oracle 9i for the Sun Solaris 8 machine Intel Plateform. I can't somehow unzip the files. I can't run cpio utility if it is not unzipped. I tried every thing such as gunzip -d, gzip, zcat, and uncompress. It gives me that it is not in the gunzip, gzip, and compress format.
    Has any body hat the same kind of problem?
    Thanks,

  • Unzip the Installation files in UNIX

    Hello all,
    I want to install Oracle 11g R2 on Solaris SPARC 10.
    I downloaded the .zip files from the Oracle website and i moved through FTP to the Solaris server.
    I want to unzip both files into one file called database. how can i do that ?
    I used: unzip filename_1.zip -d database and unzip filename_2.zip -d database
    It is creating the database folder and inside it 2 folders filename_1 and filename_2. i want it to create the contents directly under the "database folder".

    Hi;
    >
    I want to unzip both files into one file called database. how can i do that ?Use this
    unzip xxx.zip -d database

  • Can I unzip the .ipa file and edit the application.xml file

    I want to modify the below info to also have an additional string value of 2, which somewhere along the line tells something somewhere that the app can run on the ipad. Is there some info in the compiled application that will error out if I modify this document?
    <InfoAdditions>
    - <![CDATA[ <key>UIDeviceFamily</key><array><string>1</string></array> ]]>
    </InfoAdditions>
    into this
    <InfoAdditions>
    - <![CDATA[ <key>UIDeviceFamily</key><array><string>1</string><string>2</string></array> ]]>
    </InfoAdditions>

    you can change the file extension to zip, unzip it, find the application.xml file in one of the subdirectories, edit it, rezip the files, change the file extension to ipa and install.

  • I backed up TBird with Mozbackup, but cannot restore: I unzipped the PCV file but how do I restore my profile from that?

    The unzipped PCV file includes an address file and multiple mail files in plain text.
    What next?

    Why do you say "of course"? You didn't tell us what you had or hadn't done, so someone needs to ask.
    It would seem that mozbackup didn't make a legitimate "zip archive", or is buggy and doesn't recognize a good zipped archive.
    Since you have unzipped it manually, you are now in possession of your old profile, so you could follow the usual steps to reinstate an old profile into a new Thunderbird. Essentially, you copy the contents of the old profile over the contents of the new profile.
