Update custom attributes in WebUI using 9iFS

Updating custom attributes of subclassed document in WinUI is
working. Through the WebUI the attributes appear to be readonly
(which is not the case).
Did I forget something or is it still not possible to update
custom attributes from the WebUI and do I have to write a
servlet/JSP+bean to accomplish this?

Yes. You have to write a servlet/JSP+bean to update the
attributes. You can also upload XML file to update your
attributes.

Hi,
Are you sure this is the right namespace? The default namespace is com.sap.security.core.usermanagement.
You can get all namespaces and the names of all attributes defined for a user using methods getAttributeNamespaces and getAttributeNames : [Interface IPrincipal|http://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW04S/current/se/index.html].

Custom Attributes in UME

I have defined some custom attributes in UME.I created a user creation application which takes parameters from another application. I am using the below code to create the user.

I'm sorry I can't help you with your problem but maybe you can help me with mine....I cant even get the custom attributes to appear. The task processes a BOR but i've tried with UM attributes with no luck. Can you see an error here?

Assistance with Powershell custom attribute population

I'm currently undertaking an exchange 2003 to exchange 2010 migration and as part of this am having to redesign the email address policies. Our legacy recipient policies have worked well by targeting exchange alias but in 2010 this won't work.
We have a number of exchange domains and in order to update the email addresses for a group of users we have decided to use custom attribute 15 to target these AD groups, however updating this manually for over 2000 users would prove very time consuming.
Exchange 2010 seems to be geared towards powershell and as it's still early days in my knowledge am looking for assistance.
Does anyone know a powershell command I can run to update custom attribute 15 for users of a specific security group?

I am no exchange expert but also not sure what you mean by custom attribute 15. Since you want to update "users" in a specific "group" I assume this will be in Active Directory?
If so, you can use the AD cmdlets to get the job done. On a machine that has AD users and computers installed you can do something like this:
Import-Module ActiveDirectory
Get-ADGroupMember -Identity groupName | ForEach-Object{
Set-ADUser -Identity $_ -Replace @{customeAttributeName = "Replacement"}
This hasn't been tested as I do not have an environment to test in, and not sure on the custom attribute name or what needs to be replaced with, so you will need to replace groupName with the group in question, customAttributeName with the correct name and
"Replacement" with what you are replacing.

Updating custom boolean attribute in Active Directory via OIM

The adapters delivered with the AD connector support updating standard attributes (string) and multi-value attributes, but I can't seem to figure out how to update a custom Boolean attribute in AD via OIM. The delivered Boolean fields all appear to have custom adapters (ie Account Locked, Password Never Expires, etc.)
I've tried using the delievered adpADCSCHANGEATTRIBUTE adapter, but it fails (as expected) with:
+com.thortech.xl.integration.ActiveDirectory.tcUtilADTasks : updateDetails : Attributes cannot update:[LDAP: error code 21 - 00000057: LdapErr: DSID-0C090B73, comment: Error in attribute conversion operation, data 0, v1772 ]+

No I don't have custom boolean attributes in AD. But I added custom attributes of other types.
When you say custom, do you mean it did not come with the out of the box AD connector, but exists in the Active Directory of your organization?
There are a few attributes in AD which look like they are boolean when you see the AD console but are actually different. Look at the link for details.

Getting error message while updating Job attributes using PP03 for IT1641

We are getting error message while updating Job attributes using transaction PP03 for IT1641 (WC Attributes for JOB): 'Client has status not modifiable'.
Update to the infotype 1641 should not require open SAP system. Would anyone suggest any SAP note/solution?

Update marketing attribute and customer master data via Survey Response

Hi,
I am creating a marketing survey. I have come to a point where I am able to get the reponses posted by the business partners.
Now I would like to update the BP's directly when they respond. The challenge here is I want to update both Marketing attribute and Customer master.
Is this possible with standard function modules. I am using version 4.0. Please let me know.

I doubt whether there exists such note. The note 1026956 which you mentioned is for enhancing the Search for Custom attributes. For Enhancing the Result list you need to do custom development.

Error in updating custom database table using UPDATE SET Command

Hi,
I developed an automated collection system program in one of our clients simulating FBE1 (Payment Advice Creation) and F-28 (Posting of Incoming Payments) transaction codes. Upon posting, we encountered an error in PRD server wherein, for some of the posted items, the STATUS field in our custom table was not successfully updated. We tried to reverse the clearing document and debug the program. Upon posting, we were able to successfully update the status. We could not simulate the error in QAS since all the postings in QAS were successful and all status' relating to these postings were updated as well. We tried posting multiple times and the program seems to be working fine. In PRD, this behavior is just random and there is no specific pattern as to how the error occured. Provided below is the code I used for updating custom table ZFIACSF28. The STATUS field should be equal to '4' once the posting is successful. We are not sure if this is a database related issue. 7 users are authorized to do the postings in PRD and they are using the same user account.
CODE:

it's not possible that status isn't updated in zfiacsf28 while date and time are updated there, because it's hard coded.
There must be other programs that also change your table zfiacsf28 and maybe clear those fields. Maybe the key fields zor and customer cannot provide duplicate access, what is the meaning of field zor ?
Please check the where used list of table zfiacsf28 to find other update programs.

How can i add custom attributes to a new Class Object using the API ?

Here is my problem. I just created a subclass of Document using the API (not XML), by creating a ClassObjectDefinition and a ClassObject. Here is the code :

Everything seems to be OK since i can see the new class when i use ifsmgr. But my question is : how can i add custom attributes to this new class ? Here is what i tried :

is used to check for erronous cases only
and it shouldn't be used otherwise.

Issue in Updating Customer specific fields in WBS using BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI

Hi Experts,
I am able to create the WBS element using BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI.But the issue is i am not able to update customer specific fields even after passing the fields as per specification in Function module documentation. I have also created an implementation of BADI as per below specification in FM documentation:
Procedure for Filling Standard Enhancements
Before you call the BAPI for each object that is to be created or changed,
for which you want to enter customer-specific table enhancement fields, add a
data record to the container ExtensionIn:
STRUCTURE: Name of the corresponding help structure
VALUEPART1: Key of the object + start of the data part
VALUEPART2-4: If required, the continuation of the data part
VALUPART1 to VALUPART4 are therefore filled consecutively, first with the
keys that identify the table rows and then with the values of the
customer-specific fields. By structuring the container in this way, it is
possible to transfer its content with one MOVE command to the structure of the
BAPI table extension.
Note that when objects are changed, all fields of the enhancements are
overwritten (as opposed to the standard fields, where only those fields for
which the respective update indicator is set are changed). Therefore, even if
you only want to change one field, all the fields that you transfer in
ExtensionIn must be filled.
Checks and Further Processing
Using the methods ...CREATE_EXIT1 or. ...CHANGE_EXIT1 of the BAdI
BAPIEXT_BUS2001, BAPIEXT_BUS2002, and BAPIEXT_BUS2054, you can check the entered
values (and/or carry out other checks).
In the BAdI's second method, you can program that the data transferred to the
BAPI is processed further (if you only want to transfer the fields of the CI
includes, no more action is required here).
But still i am unable to update fields though i am able to create WBS with rest of the fields except custom fields.
I am using attached code to achieve this.Do we need to code anything inside method create_exit1 or create_exit2 implementation for BADI or

First observation from your code is that i could not find the assignment for the field
GWA_WBS_EXTIN-STRUCTURE. I hope you are not filling this field, that could be one reason for failure. Try to do it and let us know if you still have the problem.

But now If I append one custom field "ZFIELD" to end of table MARA, my question is how to update this custom enhancement field(ZFIELD) using BAPI(BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT)

I suggest you create your own BAPI. Just copy the codes in BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT and add your custom fields. If you want to append the data of the custom field in table MARA, first, you have to create a structure table then goto SE11, type MARA and display. Click the APPEND STRUCTURE then choose the structure that you've created. Hope this will help.

Using Rich Text Editor with a Custom Attribute

Can anyone please tell me as how can I use the Rich Text Editor with a Custom Attribute?
I want to create a custom attribute based on text datatype, but when entering the value for this attribute in a Custom Item, portal shows a normal textarea. I want that the user should see the Richt Text Editor.

Can you tell me what steps you are using to produce this, and which Portal version you are using. When I tried it, I wasn't able to reproduce it. Here are my steps:
1) Created Custom Item Type, based on Text, under
Page Groups > Shared Objects > Item Types
2) Selected Three attributes (Description, Name, Publish Date). Note Text and Display Name were already selected
3) In Add Item Wizard, configured list to allow for my
custom item type selection.
4) Then I was able to see the Rich Text Editor when editin
my custom item type.

Using LOV with bind var as custom attribute?

I have an Portal LOV which uses a bind variable.
Can I use this LOV as a custom attribute? If so, how do I specific the bind variable value?
In the display option of the attribute I tried LOV_NAME(LOV_Bind => 'value'), but the LOV is not applied.

It's been quite a while, but I think I remember trying this and not being able to achieve it. You can use a LOV with a bind variable in a report or in a form, or similar, but there is no way in an item to from specify where to get the bind variable. My suggestion if this is a requirement would be to use a portal form which submits to a stored procedure or pl/sql generated form to gather the attributes and then programmatically create the item using the APIs. Takes a bit of work, but gets you exactly what you described above.
