Update OS 4.3.2: spontaneous Vodafone iPhone 3Gs reset/crash after phonecall ends

After upgrading my 3Gs from 3.x to 4.0 my Vodafone iPhone reboots spontaneously during and after a phonecall is made.
Upgrade OS 4.3.2 is supposed to fix this issue, but it hasn't solved this problem. This problem persists!
When is Apple going to fix this issue permanently?

It seems that there is no soultion, check my post also the same.

I have exactly the same issue as described above : I installed the update 5.1.1 on my iphone 3GS and since then, I can not turn it on anymore. In Itunes, I get an error 37 when I am doing a restauration and it stops.
This error has nothing to do with firewall : I tried to restore the phone on several computers, including in an Apple reseller and it did not work anywhere.
I spent several hours on phone with the hotline from Apple which arrived to the conclusion that it is a hardware issue, but the phone was working perfectly fine until I installed this update!

yes there is a sign on the top of the screen that shows phone is LOCKED....may be that is why the phone didn't recognizing the sim...i think first i need to unlock it again then hopefully phone wil start working again ..but i dont know HOW TO UNLOCK ???...need help from u guys with this .
Actually this is my brother phone who is using in USA ,later he gifted to me , i m using iphone in INDIA now,
when i first insert the sim it was working so well..after couple fo days i tried to update with IOS5 ..after the updation problem coming ALL the Way.....how do i unlock it again , i think its jailbroken now...???

i guess the above link can solve my problem but i didn't try this process on my iphone yet may be it will harm some of iphone applikcations...?? like SOUND LOST. mailing problem etc...the guy who doing the trick in vedio says u need AT&T sim to do it on ur phone..
i dont hv AT&T sim in india i hv airtel sim...what if if i exactly the follow the guy vedio process will my IPHONE unlocked again...with no harm with application ...is it good to do so...? plz let me knw or tell me the genuine procedure.

I have iphone3gs just upgraded to iOS5 just now.
So far i am not experiencing any slow down because of the new iOS.. Rather i feel like its slightly faster than the previous version (4.3.5)..
One of the first thing i want to try was the location based reminders.. After upgrade i coudn't find the option, and went trough the user manual to find out that it is not available for 3gs..:(

No, it doesn't have to be a software issue. If it were, I would expect the millions of other iPhone users, specifically 3GS users running iOS 4 to be experiencing the same problem. They simply are not experiencing the same issue.

That would tend to indicate a hardware or network issue, most likely hardware. Have you ruled out the SIM card by replacing it?

Did you try using the device for a day or say as "new" before restoring your backup? It's very likely that the issue is simply a corrupted setting in your backup.

IPhone 3GS just CRASHED!

My Iphone 3GS just crashed. It has been a little slow to respond today (camera didn't come on immediately, FB freezing, dropped a call and then wouldn't hang up) but it seemed the problem was mostly with FB. So, I uninstalled FB and reinstalled it. While it was installing I went to play a game (iFarkle) and it opened but froze. And that was it. I couldn't turn the phone off. Nothing. I tried resetting but to no avail. I haven't backed up all my photos and videos (of my kids) - I know, bad me - so I would REALLY not like to restore it as I will lose everything, right? Any help out there???

I need help bad!! I have a iPhone 3GS 32 GB and right now it's swapping back and fourth between a wallpaper screen and the regular screen when you first get it. It will allow me to slide the bar but only when one of the screens first pop up. After that it freezes up and goes to the next screen. How can I update my iPhone 3gs to iOS4, after iOS5 came out?

I am still running iOS 3 (1.3) on my iPhone 3GS and I'm happy with it - but all the new apps requires iOS4 and now I'm sick of this. I want iOS4 (and not iOS5, cause it will drain my battery as far as I've understood).
How can I update my iPhone 3GS in a normal way to iOS4, through iTunes or another easy way? I have never jailbreaked an iPhone so I don't know too much about "backdoors" into my iPhone.

The only Firmware in the iOS 4 series that Apple is still signing for the iPhone 3GS is 4.1. So you could restore to 4.1. You will have to download the 4.1 IPSW from Apple, and then install it with iTunes, Option Click Mac or Shift Click Windoz, on the Restore Button and then select the 4.1 IPSW on your computer. The current iTunes may give meaningless Errors, I doubt because you are Upgrading. But if Error Message is given you will have to search the Web for ways to Exit Recovery.

I did the update it offered in itunes when i connected my iphone 3gs today, all went well. Now I see my music but I cant hear it, its not highlighted so that when I click a song it can play. Anyone have any idea whats up?

Check this and see if you have your music there. Or check wherever you have you rmusic stored.
I've never heard of an iOS device update that deleted the music in iTunes.

IPhone 3GS unresponsive/bricked after iOS5 Update

First let me start off by saying that I feel Apple is a SUPERIOR company and 99% of the time have excellent things to say about their products. I will, and in this case have once again, continue to buy their products over any other company. That being said....
I updated my iPhone 3GS on 12 Oct 11. When the process was almost completed I received the message that iTunes was unable to continue with activation at this time. I have called customer support numerous times (Case ID: 252118395) and have gone to the Apple store where I live. No one can seem to figure out what happened with the update or my iPhone. I tried reinstalling the OS over 50 times now and receive the same message. I went three days without a phone before I was forced to buy the 4S model. I am a career soldier waiting to deploy and going that long without a phone was unacceptable. All my 3GS has on the screen now is the gray screen saying "iPhone" and different languages scroll across. The last 4 times I have contacted Apple reference this I sit on hold for about 20 minutes and then it just goes to a ringing sound with no answer. This is absolutely unacceptable and I know Apple is a better company than to just keep giving me answers of, "I don't know what's wrong; keep trying; Give it more time." The Apple store manager at the Colorado Springs store told me it was because iOS5 wasn't compatible with the 3GS model; though your website clearly says it is as I told her. I was also told by an "Apple Genius" at the same store my "best friend" in my case was to "Google" it to see about unlocking the phone and reinstalling iOS 4 but she, "Couldn't really tell me that." Of a side note the complete lack of professionalism and "hey bro" attitude at this store was in stark contrast to the professional atmosphere and service excellence that the late Mr. Jobs fostered. All I want is for my old iPhone 3GS to be restored so at least we can use it for an iPod Touch. I have exhausted all attempts to contact Apple. A prompt response would be greatly appreciated as I know you are a much better run company than this and you give no real e-mail link to help out with such matters. Has anyone else had this issue???

My iPhone 3Gs is not detecting any carriers. I have just upgraded to ios 5.
I have tried my SIM in another phone and it is working OK. The phone was unlokced by O2 and I have tried an O2 SIM in it which also does not work.
When I manually search for carriers then none are found.
I'm beginning to think this is a hardware fault.
Any ideas?
