Dear Users,
I am facing one issue in HRMS:
i have a list of jobs defined in a translated value set.
whenever i am updating one value in the value set the changes are not affecting the job list.
Please advice.

What is the validation type on your value_set. Is it translatable Dependent ?
You can search for the values from -
Navigate to Application Developer --> Flexfield --> Key --> Values
On this form, you will see a small Globe on the menu bar.. make sure all the translatable values are updated.

FndLoad updates wrong value set values

When uploading value set values, fndload updates both US and N language value descriptions. Supposed is to update only N language values.
Step by step what I have done.
*1. Set NLS_LANG environment variable*

*2. Downloaded value set*

I have investigated that its happening because of the update statement which is called by the fndload control file. Procedure fnd_flex_values_pkg.load_row line 708:
update FND_FLEX_VALUES_TL set

DESCRIPTION = X_DESCRIPTION,

Problem is with this statement and userenv('LANG') in (LANGUAGE, SOURCE_LANG);, because there is included SOURCE_LANG which not always is the same as LANGUAGE. Therefore the update statement updates also US language values which source language is N
Any suggestions how to override this problem?

Thanks for the tip, but it is the same if I set the NLS_LANG environment variable *"export NLS_LANG=NORWEGIAN_NORWAY.WE8MSWIN1252"* before upload.
I will try a workaround. Update the source_lang so it is the same as language and then upload with fndload.

How to clear value set values from node info

Hi,
I have set some values on value set to display on a dropdown in my view. using following method.
l_node_info->set_attribute_value_set( name = 'XYZ' value_set = l_value_set ).
Now i need to clear node info value set. Otherwise particular attribute which i used for dropdown is always showing values added .
Please suggest how to clear value set.

Hi,
Interface IF_WD_CONTEXT_NODE_INFO is for metadata of a node. It has nothing to do with the values in dropdown list.
In order to manipulate the values in the dropdown of an attributes, you can use the IF_WD_CONTEXT_NODE.
As you are saying its a dropdown, what I can suggest is to write supply function for the node.
And then get the index (V_INDEX) of the value you wanted to see in the dropdown list, and then use the following code in the method WDDOINIT
LO_NODE->SET_LEAD_SELECTION_INDEX( INDEX = V_TABIX ).

X-axis values - Set values based upon constant date

I am creating a line graph. I am plotting based upon date/time. I'd like to use a constant date across the x-axis. IE 8:00, 8:15, 8:30. Within the constant value there could be many points or no points. For example there could be a point at 8:01, 8:02, 8:05 and then a point at 8:35. Along the x-axis the label should remain constant at 8:00, 8:15...

How to reuse a value set in the filter into an LMD process

Using apex 3.2, I'm wondering how to re-use the value currently set into the filter (interactive report) into a LMD process attached to a button created on the same page.
The process on Submit - after validations and computations, I presume, should look like to the following statement, but in a dynamic way:

I tested the following clauses options, which none of them work:
a) where study = :STUDY
b) where study = :IR_STUDY
setting the debbug to on, I could realize that the report was based on (apparently, APEX generates APXWS_EXPR_1 bind variable for the first parameter and APXWS_EXPR_2 if a second parameter is used into the filter, and so on...) :
where ("STUDY" = :APXWS_EXPR_1)
and then saw :
0.28: IR binding: ":APXWS_EXPR_1"="APXWS_EXPR_1" value="ABCD"
0.28: IR binding: ":APXWS_MAX_ROW_CNT"="APXWS_MAX_ROW_CNT" value="10000"
of course, I thought that the clause 'where ("STUDY" = :APXWS_EXPR_1)' could work. Unfortunaltely, not.

but I don't know how to execute it from putty ? Can some one help me.Use the same command. Just make sure you are logged in as applmgr user and source the application env file before you run the command. Also, make sure you issue the command in a directory where applmgr has read/write privilege.

Verify a value against value set

Hi,
I am trying to import price list lines along with Pricing attribute values.

Hi,
You can query the fnd_flex_values or fnd_flex_value_segments_vl to find the name of the value set defined.
Another point is that the Value Set is defined of validation type Table so the values are dependent on the base tables.
There are no such API's to cater the need for Verfying a Value against a Value Set.

You can find functions and procedure for Value sets in packages FND_FLEX_VAL_API or FND_FLEX_VAL_UTIL.
Example : get_table_vset_select gives you the select statement of your value set. Executing this statement will allow you to validate your values.

Hi,
You could use FNDLOAD to download the values, and edit the ldt file before uploading it back using FNDLOAD.
Search My Oracle Support for "FNDLOAD afffload.lct", you should get couple of hits which should be helpful.

API to create value set with attribute values ?

I was hoping someone might be able to help with this question.
I am creating a series of value set values using fnd_flex_val_api.create_independent_vset_value and fnd_flex_val_api.create_dependent_vset_value as part of a migration.
These APIs do not allow you to pass in attribute column values.
How can you create a value set value which has attribute values populated ? Is there another API does anyone know ?

Make diffrence between values set by user and others by binding

Hello, I'm working with comboboxes. Selected Value is sometime set by user and somtimes set by bindings. I have to launch actions only when the selected value is set by user. Is there any possible way to do it? Thank a lot.

Value Set Changes

Hello,
We need to change the description for some values of a value set.
Now,these values are already assigned to employees and there are no changes but they should show the new description when we see them thru Oracle forms.
I've modified the description for the value set values and it was compiled succesfully.Now,if i look at the employee records,they still have the old description.
The new description is only seen if i select the value again and save the record.
Is there an easy way to do it automatically (with out scripts/manually)as 1k employees should see the new description .

We are not making any changes to the actual values of the value set,but only the description for these values,i.e,
in the table fnd_flex_values_vl ,we are not making any changes to flex_value column but only changing description column .
My question is,because we are not changing the actual flex_value ,but only changing the description for this ,is there an easy way for this new description to appear on the Oracle form without re-assigning the same value (manually or through a script) so that the new description appears .

FNDLOAD fail update parameter's value set in concurrent program

I am try to update 1 parameter's value set from one enviorment to other using the following script but that parameter is still using old value set:

if date of parameter (or valueset) in ldt earlier than date of parameter (or valueset) in system than no update
you can try to use CUSTOM_MODE=FORCE

I have an input field in the datatable with the valueChangeListener

After calling the valuechange method, the screen output doesn't update the cost.
How to update the table value in the valuechange event?

As you're misusing the valueChangeListener to set another input field, you need to skip the update model values phase. Otherwise the value set in the valueChangeListener will be overridden by the submitted value. You can do this by calling the FacesContext#renderResponse() inside the valueChangeListener method. This will shift the current phase immediately to the render response phase, hereby skipping the update model values and invoke application phases.

Get/Set values from a drop down list

I am trying to modify the http://www.netbeans.org/kb/60/web/web-jpa-part2.html so that instead of entering the data from a text field (in update & add) the values come from a drop down list from a table. I have drop down lists that are populated bothe from the DB and hard coding. When I run, I am able to see the options on the DDs. But none of the CRUD work. I think this is because my set and get for the drop down is wrong. Then again, I also have a few text fields from the original example which also don't seem to work. Here is a piece of my addButton():

cell A1 contains the string One-Piece, cell B1 contains the 'associated' value 160.
cell A2 contains the string Two-Piece, cell B2 contains the 'associated' value 130.
cell A3 contains the string Three-Quarter, cell B3 contains the 'associated' value 150.
Now table Main
In column B the cells contain a pop_up menu with four items like the ones described by Jerrold.
In column C of the cells contain the formula :

I enhanced it since yesterdays because I forgot to treat the case when cell is blank in column B.

As you are in Stoke-on-Trent maybe your system is set to use the comma as decimal separator.
If it's that, you must replace the comma by semi-colons in the formulas (you may see them in my screenshot).

The Tabular Form Element based on item_type column of SQL query is Displayed As Select List (based on LOV) referencing a named list of values which have the following properties
Display Value     Return Value
Hardware Asset    HA
Backup Device     BD
Computer System   HSThe Tabular Form Elements for the report attributes for hardware_id, backup_dev_id and hardware_os_id are all Displayed As Select List (Based on LOV).
What I want to do is only display the Select List for the FK depending on the value of the Select List on Item Type, e.g.
Item_Type is 'HA' then display Select List for hardware_id, do not display and set to NULL the Select Lists for backup_dev_id and hardware_os_id.
Item_Type is 'BB' then display Select List for backup_dev_id, do not display and set to NULL the Select Lists for hardware_id and hardware_os_id.
Item_Type is 'HS' then display Select List for hardware_os_id, do not display and set to NULL the Select Lists backup_dev_id and hardware_id.
There are properties on elements to conditionally display it but how do we reference the values of the SQL query Updateable region? they are not given a page item name?
Also on the Tabular For Elements there is an Edit tick against a report item - however when you go to the Column Attributes there is not a property with which you can control the Edit setting.
What's the best way of implementing this requirement in APEX 3.1?
