I keep getting these reminders to update. I check and it's always for the same version I have already.
As far as I can tell the app works properly otherwise.
What is up? How do you make this stop?

There are a lot of fake update sites and apps. So far they seem to have mostly targeted Windows, but maybe Macs are next. What do these update prompts look like (screen shot would be best - but you can't email it!)

hello, java is not the same as javascript (the later runs in the browser without any plugins necessary).

from the system information you've submitted it appears that the java plugin by oracle is already present on your system (but not the latest version). if you're having problems downloading java update 7 from java.com you can also use the inbuilt updater for java, that is accessible in the windows control panel (see [http://www.java.com/en/download/help/java_update.xml]).

Finally got through to tech support and found someone who seemed to know what was going on, he walked me through and using appleid.applesupport got me to a point where i could get a new password for the apple id that kept showing up.

I currently have iTunes version 7 and I need to upgrade to version 10. I am afraid of losing all my music if I just download 10 and when I use the "Check for updates" in the version 7 help menu, it tells me the server cannot be contacted.

Back up your music and install from the website. You probably won't need to do this, but if your library is erased, restore it from the backup.

Apple needs to test the carrier if they offer LTE as expected.
If your country/carrier is not on the list then there's no LTE on your iPhone.

But, unless I missed something, you are doing the repair with Aperture 3.5 so if 3.5 can't open an earlier library before doing the upgrade then unless I'm missing something the library will be upgraded before the repair is run, no?

You got me there, Frank - I wondered about the same thing, but Aperture is behaving differently, when upgrading a library, depending on if you are launching into the First Aid Tools or not.
I repeated my experiments, to explore this difference:
I restored an Aperture 3.4.3 library and launched the First Aid Tools:
Apertur went directly into First Aid Mode without first asking to upgrade.
Then "Repair" asked to be allowed to upgrade the library as you predicted.
During the upgrade "Aperture"showed "Rebuilding", not "Repairing" or "upgrading".
Second experiment: When I only double-click the 3.4.3 library instead of repairing, the upgrade alert is very different:
It takes a shorter time and does not show "rebuilding".
I am quite certain, that Aperture will use a different upgrade prodecure, when launched into the First Aid panel for repairing or rebuilding.

The music is yours on your drive, only you, or malware or a drive crash, can delete that data.
pLeAsE make backups of your valuable data.
Apple makes it's easy in iTunes, File > Library > Backup to Disk Feed it DVD-R's label and data, or use a external drive.
Apple doesn't reinssue downloads. The music is yours you bought it.

Basic troubleshooting from the Users Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

My biggest suggestion would be to check and make sure that the app works with iOS 8. If their app is not compatible, then there is a possibility that the app will crash every time you open it or some other way that makes the app unusable and then you would be unable to access that data. As long as the app is compatible with iOS 8 then updating your OS shouldn't cause you to lose any of the information within the app. As others are suggested, make sure you have a backup but just note that once you update to iOS 8 you cannot revert back to an older version. Find out if your app has any way to export the information to another format that you can save and access via a computer before updating.

Hi, so I got my new computer loaded up with iTunes and I want to be able to move my music from my old iPod to my new iTunes library without losing any of the music I already have placed on the iPod. How would I do this? And please I'm not too savvy with the new iTunes layout and such so if you could make this easy in layman's terms that would be great.

If you purchased all songs in the iTunes Store, plug your iPod to your Mac or PC and iTunes will ask you to transfer purchases.
