Updating FND table owner password after database import/export?

We created a reporting instance from our production environment, and moved the EUL to a new schema through a database export/import process - not the Discoverer Administrator export/import process. The password associated with the owner of the FND tables is embedded within the EUL in production. When this was moved to a new schema in our reporting instance, this password "came with" the EUL. However, the password for the FND table owner is different in the reporting instance than it is in production. Is there any way to update this after the fact for the owner of the EUL?
Here's what happened: EUL_OWNER1 is the owner of the Applications mode EUL in production. The copy was taken of production to create the reporting instance. At that time, EUL_OWNER2 was created in the reporting instance, and the tables and data owned by EUL_OWNER1 was exported and imported into EUL_OWNER2. The reason that we did this was to lock down security and keep people from running reports against production, hindering the performance of the overall system. The APPS password (which owns the FND tables), which was required when creating the EUL_OWNER1 EUL in production, is different in the reporting instance. When you log into Discoverer Administrator as EUL_OWNER2 and try to validate folders, you get "ORA-00942: table or view does not exist" errors for all of your tables. Basically, that user cannot view those tables because it does not have the appropriate APPS password.
Can this be updated somehow? Or do I have to re-create the EUL for EUL_OWNER2 by using the Discoverer export/import functions? Thanks.

Hi,
I don't think the FND password is embedded in the EUL tables. What you will have lost by moving the EUL through a database export/import is all the grants that gave the EUL owner access to the FND tables and other Apps objects. These can be reapplied at the database level. However, the EUL owner does not actually need access to the tables that are mapped into the EUL as you can refresh these when you connect as an Applications user.

Scenario: Windows 7 remote user forgets the cached password for her laptop and uses FIM 2010 R2's Reset Password invoked from the login screen. The domain password change is successful, but the user still cannot login to the laptop as the

Privilege errors after database import

I just built an database server with window 2003, oracle 10.1.0.4 with 10.1.0.2 version of oracle workspace manager. I imported my database (with the same DB versions) however I'm not able to execute the dbms_wm commands. My test user has the wm_admin_role and is able to enable and disable versioning however, I can not create a workspace. I get the following error when I attempt to run dbms_wm.GrantSystemPriv logged in as any DBA user with wm_admin_role:
ora-20076: insufficient privileges to grant priv_ANY_WORKSPACE
ora-06512: at "SYS.LTPRIV"
ora-06512: at "SYS.LTPRIV"
ora-06512: at "SYS.LT"
I am able to select dbms_wm.getworkspace from dual and 'LIVE' workspace is returned. However, if I attempt to run dbms_wm.gotoworkspace('LIVE') it returns
ora-20122: workspace 'LIVE' does not exist

Unfortunately this is NOT the solution. The sys.portal_login only works for the current sql-session. As soon as you login for a second time, you have to execute this procedure again. So, the upgrade to 309 is still not possible.
According to TAR 2063294.55 Oracle will NOT support full database exports/imports for backing up Portal environments. They only accept the Portal import/export-utilities (which are unreliable and unworkable) and database-filebackups (which are not possible if you want to restore only one schema).
So, my Portal-308-environment is working now, but it can never be upgraded to 309.
Or does anyone else has an option?

We need to migrate database from one server to new server using same database version 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.1.0). We have some production objects in sys schema. We took full export using full=y and then import on new server using full=y. Other objects belonging to different tablespaces and users has successfully imported but production objects i.e table in sys schema not import.
We used following commands for export and import:
# exp system file=/u01/backup/orcl_full_exp.dmp log=/u01/backup/orcl_full_exp.log full=y statistics=none
# imp system file=/u01/backup/orcl_full_exp.dmp log=/u01/backup/orcl_full_imp.log full=y ignore=y

First of all it is not good practice to keep user object in the sys schema
second you are useing version 11gr2 what not you go for datapump export/import method.
third, did you get any error in import, what is the error

Updating a table binded to a database

I am using a table binded to a table inside a database. How can the database be updated when a new row is added to the database. I am using the persist command in a separate session EJB to add the new row.

you mean how can the datatable be updated when the database is updated.
Use Ajax to poll for a change I suppose. Perhaps you could set a session variable or something that says that the data is dirty, check that value through an Ajax call and then refresh the datatable when the variable is true (don't forget to set the variable to false again, or else the table keeps updating!)

Incorrect user profile setting after database import

We migrateed the production databsae from Solaris running 10.2.0.3 to OEL running 10.2.0.5. The method we used is exp/imp and it seem everything fine. However, it found that some of the user profile (ie. IDLE TIME, ) limit is not the the same as the old database. It seem the user profile is not migrated successfully.

You can see limit value of FAILED_LOGIN_ATTEMPTS, IDLE_TIME and SESSIONS_PER_USER are different.

It is not a user profile, but the default one which already exist by default in the database and not overwritten when importing.
By the way, IDLE_TIME is same on both sides.

Is there a way to include the sys.aud$ table in a full database dp export?

I am doing an export using the following parfile information:
userid=/
directory=datapump_nightly_export
dumpfile=test_expdp.dmp
logfile=test_expdp.log
full=y
content=all
However when I run this I do not see the sys.aud$ in the log file. I know I can do a seperate export to specifically get the sys.aud$ table but is there any way to include it in with my full export?

here's more background infomation... I have some audits setup on my database for one of my users. Every quarter I have an automated job that runs that creates a usage/statics report for this person using data in aud$. at the end of the job I export the aud$ table and truncate it. However last quarter I found that there was a mistake in my report and my export did not run properly thus my audit data was gone. i also have full datapump exports that run daily but found that aud$ was not there. so that is why I thought I'd like to include sys.aud$ in the full datapump exports.
i understand why other sys tables would be left out of a full export but aud$ data cannot be reproduced so to me it makes sense to include it in a full export.
don't worry, we run our true backups using rman which is eventually how I got the aud$ data back by creating a copy of my database up until the time of the truncate. however this was quite time consuming.

My R3 database is 1.8 TB and the no. of datafiles are around 188, all are of 10GB each , how i can minimise the no.of datafiles and reorg the entire database., will it help in reducing the current database size.

Export a table to memory ID and import it in the Workflow.

For a particular requirement,
We are triggering Workflow from the User Exit MV45AFZZ.
Before triggering this WF, I am trying to export an internal table to a memory ID and trying to Import it back from the same memory ID into an internal table in the Workflow task. This is failing.
Even the name of internal tables and memory IDs are similar.
Can we do this like this? If yes please let me know how to do this.

Initially,
I have populated the values of the internal table in to a Database table, immediately called Workflow, in a task tried to retrieve the data from the database table.
But though there is some data in the table, it dint retrieve any data, as at that point the table may not be updated.
So now I used this Import export concept.
I think its in same session, but still not working,

The possible solutions are outlined in the distributed database documentation
They are
a) trigger (6.0 and higher)
b) advanced replication. Creates triggers on every table. Requires every table to have a primary key (8.0 and higher)
c) Streams (Uses logminer, has no impact on table. Requires every table to have a primary key, or supplemental logging will be used. (9.0 and higher)
d) Change Data Capture: superset of Streams (9i and higher).
If you don't require realtime updates you don't need c or d. b is difficult to manage. Using a) the source db can potentially have to wait for the target db to complete it's transaction.

Password after update! Important!!

I decided re-install the update of my nokia 6288, because there was a bug while charging...
The problem is that after the update it put a password to my memory card and i dont know what it it...
It restore all defaults, and my memory card has a password now, wich didnt exist before the update.
I just want to know the password because i have important files there and i can't access at the moment..

How to update a table in database

Hi.
i am working on HR system. I have developed a form of report engine. Report Engine form contains no any database table but text items, buttons and options.
I have placed a button and in its when button press triger i wrote a procedure to update a table record as:
Update Empbiodata
Set Status = 'Retired'
Where Status = 'On Duty'
but that button is not updating the database record. when i add a line of Commit_form, after that i faced the error message there is no change to save.
I have run this code on SQL prompt and saw working well.
please solve the problem that why this code is not working in button press trigger in the form.

if i don't have TEST table on server B whether COPY command will create this table on server B with the same structure ? If you specify CREATE as a clause the table will be created:
SQL> help copy
