Updating variable no. of records in a DB from JSP

I have a page generated dynamically (by querying the DB). This page lists all the vehicles which are to be approved. The list has a column of Applcation nos., another column of the proposed Registration nos. and a check box against each row (each row has an application no and a registration no). Depending on which applications have been OKayed (which is done by checking the check box), the Database is to be updated on hitting the "submit" button. How can I do that as the no of rows selected (records) can be different each time. Also is it better to update the Databse directly from the jsp page (if it can be done) or is it better to use an EJB to do this (the jsp calls an EJB which updates the Database), in which case how is it done?
I am a beginner so please help me out.

I will try to help you, but in fact I'm a newbie too (1 months of experience).
First you'd better create an EJB that will run your statment on your server instead of your client (you will earn time).
Otherweise you can use a resultset with an update method according to your variable type. If you choose this way be careful to set up an JDBC 2.0

not sure what your model is, but if it is Business Components, I think I would expose the properties as a client method on the application module. This way all JClient panels and frames will have access to it. You could use a HashMap to store the data in teh app module.
If JDBC supports the record type, then you should be able to call it via a prepared SQL statement. If not, you may consider writing a PLSQL accessor to your stored procedure that returns something that can be handled.

Equipment master record updation in Asset master record

Dear Friends,
I have a query with regard to Equipment master record updation in asset master record. Here we have created equipment in Plant maintenance module and we have created asset in AS01 tcode. When we give the asset number to PM module guys, they can easily update the asset number in their equipment master by changing the equipment master record.
But when we enter the same in asset master record in 3rd tab allocations tab, initially it is accepting the equipment details like equipment number, category, object and tech description, but the same is not available after saving.
Please let me know whether I have to do any customization in asset settings inorder to get the equipment number populated in asset master record.

If every row in the table has a distinct id_pel, then what
you ask is actually an impossible question. It will have no answer.
Distinct IDs imply that the resultset will contain
at most one distinct value of id_pel. That means, there can

turn means the update query can update at most one row at a time.
If, however, the resultset of
rec consists of multiple rows, it will mean that there are

How to update Records of SAP table from .CSV file

Now I want to update the all fields in SAP table with the Internal table.
I want to use Update statement.

You can pre-load all the records into another internal table

...change required lt_dbitab fields: <fs>-comp = <fs_csv>-comp...

ant then you can do mass-update
update dbtab from table lt_dbitab.
From performance view, this solution should be much faster than iterating lt_csv directly and updating every single database record

Checking for an updated variable value in symbol timeline

I'm making a puzzle which involves moving crates in a specific order to get a character from one side to the other. Take a look at http://tinyurl.com/c4vwcj9 to get the gist of it.
Each crate is a symbol with it's own timeline. A crate may only move a pre-determined direction and distance once clicked. No more than 2 crates can be pulled out of the grid at any one time.
The timeline of each symbol has three states: "Original", "Moved" and "Returned".
If you have a play around with the puzzle as it stands so far, you will see most of the logic arguments work ok. However, the problem I have is when you pull a crate out of the grid and it needs to check if it can move back into place.
To see what I mean:
- Pull out the bottom left corner crate
- Move the crate to the immediate right, thereby blocking the previous crate
- Try to move the bottom left corner crate again (you should get an error message and it shouldn't move - this is fine)
- Move the other crate back to it's original position to unblock the previous crate
- Try to move the bottom left corner crate a final time (you still get the error message and it doesn't move - this is not fine!)
A quick debug has revealed the second mouse click doesn't fetch the updated variable AFTER the symbol timeline begins to play, but the same methodology works just fine for crates that check for impeded movement BEFORE a symbol timeline is played (try one of the inner crates). Why isn't it getting the updated value and what can I do to solve it?
Below is a sample of the code specific to the bottom left crate. I've highlighted the variable and arguments specific to the problem. Please excuse what is no doubt poor Javascript coding conventions - I only started learning this last week!

Well, that would depend on what calendar you are using.
If you are simply relying on the calendar on the device, well, that's not very smart. Restoring from backup should put everything back.
If the calendar is synced with another service, like Google, iCloud, Exchange, do the entires still exist there?
If the calendar is synced with Outlook or iCal on your computer, do the entries still exist there?

New to ABAP -- Need help with any BAPI to update the vendor master record

I have a requirement to update the vendor master record ( ie purchasing block data inlfa1 and lfm1 table )directly. i have created the report but my problem is i am updating tables directly by using modify which is not correct according to SAP hence i want to use bapi whereby i can change the fields of the table. does anyone know any bapi which can modify the lfa1-sprem field and lfm1-sperm field. Plz hep me. They have specifically asked me to do it using BAPI's.

How do I insert a session variable into a record?

I can’t figure out how to insert the value passed by a
session variable into a record.
I have a form I want to use to insert a record. I pass
session variables to this page and want to insert one of them into
the record. The session information is:

MQ:OSB Assign action failed updating variable "ServiceRequest"

We have a problem with the MQ adapters in Oracle Service Bus.
If we (by accident/break testing) put messages on the queue that are invalid XML (such as "Banana" as plain text), the OSB goes into an infinte loop with this message, as it can never be dequeued due to:

Master data update bringing in multiple records for single entry

Hello,
I found that if I deleted and reloaded data in a master data object, it was showing me correct number of records. However, just a full update was not overwriting it with correct number of data records. there were always 1 or 2 extra blank records. I thought master data update should overwrite previous records and we need not delete and reload it.
Why would this happen?

Are you refering to time dependent master data? From to values are present?
If so, that's the correct situation, since BW (OLAP) instead of R/3 (OLTP) allows you to mantain historical data, i.e., a material can be valid from a specific time period with several attributes and other attributes can be valid for the same material in another time space.

Updating only the last record.

Hi,
I have a scenario where we get more than 1 record based on style. Everytime the new record comes in, I need to update the last record inserted. It requires a procedure to do it, but need some help on how to just update the last record only and not all the previous received records.
Here is the scenario.

so now on next run when i get another record

now the procedure should insert the incoming record and also update the expire_date for the previous record to a day before date_received for the new record. I am ok doing it when its only 2 records , but when i get another record of same style, i dont want to update all the previous received records. I only want to update the last record on file.
can anyone suggest?

Update Statement Duplicates the record

the update statement updates the fields and at the same time it duplicates the updated data in new record.

Be aware that what you do is nt the preferred way to work with forms. The best way would be to make your block a database block based on your table, put something in the WHERE-clause and populate the block using an EXECUTE_QUERY. then, do update changed data in the block, just issue an COMMIT_FORM, the update itself will be done by forms .

Unwanted updation of purchase info record

Hi All,
We have an issue where the field "Vendor Mat. No." is getting updated automatically from somewhere ininfo record. We delete this value and keep the field as blank. But after some days the old value appears again.
In the change log I can see the entries as old value "XYZ" and new value blank for several dates. But I do see an entry as blank to "XYZ".
Can someone give me an idea what could be going wrong here?

It is finally clear now that the vendor material number is updated in the info record from the PO. But now the user does not want this to happen.
So I tried by maintaining default values for buyers in configuration at IMG --> Materials management --> Purchasing --> Environment dat --> Define default values for buyers
We have default values mainatined here with info record update indicator as blank for purchase order. I have maintained the same default value in user master parameters as EVO.
Now when I create the PO I still get the info record update indicator ticked. How do I get this unticked as default?
Also please let me know what could be the other problems arising if the info update indicator in not ticked in the Po in future?
