Updating XSD in BPM process

Hi
I created an xsd and used it in process, create UI(webdynpro) using the same.
now when i change the xsd, the changes are not reflected in the context data in webdynpro.
How to update context data in webdynpro with the updated XSD.

Hi,
I am not sure about the exact process, but you can do this way.
Open your WDJ component Controller and create the Context variables and map them to the Interface Controller (copy from the CC Context and Paste in the Interface Controller Context). now come back to your BPM Component and open the Task which is calling the WDJ Application and do a REFRESH of the UI Component associated property.

Updating WS proxy files in JDeveloper after updating XSD in BPEL process

Hi all,
I have a couple of BPEL processes with variables from one huge XSD deployed to my server. I have created WS Web proxies for these processes in my application in JDeveloper and I'm calling these processes through these proxies. When I have created these files through the wizard in JDeveloper it has also generated types and runtime classes.
Now this XSD for all BPEL processes is changed a lot. Is there a way to update those classes in JDeveloper or do I have to delete all the proxy classes and then generate them from scratch?
I hope my question is clear and someone could give me some help.

you could use ant to generate the resources for every webservice, so you don't need to use the wizard itself.
Oracle supplies some ant targets to do the job, so you could make a single script to generate them for all your services

BPM Process chain takes long time to process

We have BI7, Netweaver 2004s on Oracle and SUN Solaris
There is a process chain (BPM) which pulls data from the CRM system into BW. The scheduled time to run this chain is 0034 hrs. This chain should ideally complete before / around 0830 Hrs. <b>Now the problem is that every alternate day this chain behaves normally and gets completed well before 0830 hrs but every alternate day this chain fails</b> there are almost 40 chains running daily. Some are event triggered (dependent with each other) or some run in parallel. In this, (BPM) process chain, usually there are 5 requests with 3 Delta and 2 full uploads (Master Data). The delta uploads finishes in 30 minutes without any issues with very few record transfers. The first full upload is from 0034 hrs to approximately 0130 hrs and the 2nd upload is from 0130 hrs to 0230 hrs. Now if the 1st upload gets delayed then the people who are initiating these chains, stop the 2nd full upload and continue it after all the process chains are completed. Now this entire BPM process chain sometimes takes 17 -18 hrs to complete!!!!!
No other loads in CRM or BW when these process chains are running
CRM has background jobs to push IDOCS to BW which run every 2 minutes which runs successfully
Yesterday this chain got completed successfully (well within stipulated time) with over 33,00,000 records transferred but sometimes it has failed to transfer even 12,00,000 records!!

Also within the zip file refer BPM Infoprovider and data source screen shot.doc please refer this file as the infopackage (page 2) which was used in the process chain is not displayed later on in page number 6 BUT CHAIN GOT SUCESSFULLY COMPLETED
We have analyzed:--
1)     The PSA data for BPM process chain for past few days
2)     The info providers for BPM process chain for past few days
3)     The ODS entries for BPM process chain for past few days
4)     The point of failure of BPM process chain for past few days
5)     The overall performance of all the process chains for past few days
6)     The number of requests in BW for this process chain
7)     The load on CRM system for past few days when this process chain ran on BW system
As per our analysis, there are couple of things which can be fixed in the BW system:--
1)     The partner agreement (transaction WE20) defined for the partner LS/BP3CLNT475 mentions both message types RSSEND and RSINFO: -- collect IDOCs and pack size = 1 Since the pack size = 1 will generate 1 TRFC call per IDOC, it should be changed to 10 so that less number of TRFCs will be generated thus less overhead for the BW server resulting in the increase in performance
2)     In the definition of destination for the concerned RFC in BW (SM59), the Technical Setting tab says the Load balancing option = No. We are planning to make it Yes
But we believe that though these changes will bring some increase in performance, this is not the root cause of the abnormal behavior of this chain as this chain runs successfully on every alternate day with approximately the same amount of load in it.
I was not able to attach the many screen shots or the info which I had gathered during my analysis. Please advice how do I attach these files

Normally index creation or deletion can take long time in case your database statistics are not updated properly, so can check stat after your data loading is completed and index generation is done, Do creation of database statistics.
Then try to recheck ...

How to carry out an action on a task in a bpm process from another adf app?

Hi everyone,
We have a simple BPM process with only one human task with two actions: approve and reject.
We want to know if it is possible to approve or reject this task from another adf application; I mean by clicking a button on a different page - not using the Actions menu in workspace, can I change the status of the task to approved or rejected and remove the task from the workspace of the assignee?

I think you can use ItemAdding event to update your fields. This works better for you instead of ItemAdded event.

Calling Oracle BPM Process Web Service from Oracle Service Bus

I am using Oracle Service Bus 10gR3.
I have developed simple BPM process through Oracle BPM studio 10.3.1.0.I then followed steps below
1. Create a Process.
2. Expose the Process as a Web Service.
3. Run the project. This starts the Process Execution Engine.
4. Create an ALSB External Resource of type Management Host.
5. Create a second ALSB External Resource for registration.
6. Register the End Point
Until this point everything is fine. Then I created one project through Oracle Service Bus console. Under that created WSDL, Proxy Service and Business Service Folders. I am using the web service created through BPM studio as teh Business Service in SB . I then created one proxy service to route the request to the Business Service.
Finally when I try to test the Proxy Service by launching test console, I get the

Unable to Trigger BPM Process from ECC --- Need Help

I have created a BPM and exposed the Process as a web service. Now when ECC team is trying to trigger the BPM through the provided Web Service, they are getting the below error.
Issue is that the messages fails in ECC with the Status u201CSystem Erroru201D and this is due to reason below :
"The RM Source endpoint requests this acknowledgement by including an
<AckRequested> header block in the message. An RM Destination that
receives a message that contains an <AckRequested> header block MUST
respond with a message containing a <SequenceAcknowledgement> header
block" (Web Services Reliable Messaging Protocol 1.0).

How to set a base64binary to hexBinary in BPM process

I've the following scenario:
I need to insert a binary from a BPM process to database using a data access web service implemented with ADF Service Interface. In the process a binary value is treated like xsd:base64binary while the ADF web service treats binary values as xsd:hexBinary. Inside my BPM process I got a service task making a service call to the data access webservice and invoking an InsertPhoto method. During the process I obtain the image (as a binary) I want to insert in the database and, using associations, I map the image value to the binary field required as input for the insert method. There's no error during the implementation but after deploy and test the process I got the following error, asociated to the service task:

Done. The solution was just go to the ADF web service schema definition (xsd), look for the InsertPhoto method message and change the type of Image (the binary field) from "hexBinary" to "base64Binary" and redeploy the web service application.

BPM Process Creation: Can't find bundle oracle.bpm.fusion.soa.msg

I cant create a BPM process in my Jdeveloper .4, .5 or .6. I have updated all them with the BPM extension. While creating a BPM application, the technologies being included in the application, i.e. BPM and SOA are correct. However, on the next page, I can't see any templates. Even if I click finish at that page, only a simple SOA project (not a BPM one, since the BPM Project Navigator tab is absent) gets created with an error log:

Guessing you might hear from Oracle that the URL reference in your thread below is pointed to an the old version and that the classes are no longer supported.
As you know, this is not the case - the URL you have in your thread for the API is the latest for 11.1.1.6. Both classes you mention should be supported (at least according to the Javadoc) and in a recent search I was not able to find them either.
Might be worth a call to Oracle Support to either straighten out the Javadoc or get you a patch.

BPM Process Instance Id

Guys,
I'm expecting BPM process instance id to be in progressive sequence.. But it is not.
I created an instance at 10 am , id is 120074
Then i created an instance at 11 am on the same day, id is 110089.
Is this possible? Do anyone knows how it works?

There is a range size setting named InstanceKeyBlockSize at the BPELConfig:bpal MBean which drives the range of IDs each managed server gets hold of. The default for this is 10000.
When the servers start they pick their ids reading the next block from ID_RANGE table and updates the table for next availabe range.
Say you have 2 nodes , one holds keys from 10000 to 19999 and the other holds from 20000 to 29999 , depending which node you are on you get the next instance id from that pool.
This expalains why one process has an Id starting with 120*** and the other with 110***

BPM processes,receiving signals (events) & correlation to existing instance

BPM 11g/SOA Suite 11g (R1 PS2)
I am wondering whether it is possible to receive signals (EDN events) into a running process instance. The documentation describes how a process can be started by an event. I would like to be able to feed an event (signal) into a running process (just like we do with correlation in BPEL processes). Is that possible - and if so, how?
Along the same lines, can BPM processes receive messages through externally exposed WebService operations - into correlated process instances? For example: I have started the process to create a new employee in the organization and I want to inform the process instances taking care of this employee that she will start on a later date than originally assumed (or not at all because she has accepted another job). I know the unique employee id for this new hire. How can I configure the BPM process such that this incoming call after the instance has started is fed into a Receive activity in the process instance working on this employee?
Maybe a similar is question would be: can a message catch event be used without a corresponding message throw event - to catch incoming messages asynchronously and not related to a message sent by the process instance.

I also tried DB Adapters and it is not working for my scenario. Needed help/pointers from a BPM Guru \.
As per my business scenario, If there any update in the database (offline approval. not using worklist) then i should complete the running BPM process for approval.
1. To achieve this, I created a adapter to poll and it is working in polling. What is not working is picking the update in process and mark is closed/complete.
2. I tried using Catch Event with continuation mode (but it needs throw event to begin with).
3. I also tried ‘Receive event’, which also needs start event for continuation.
4. If i use Initiate mode for catch event then it initiate a new process and mark it close and does not do anything with original process (having this catch event). This catch event is still waiting.
5. If i use “receive” event with Initiate mode then jdeveloper is giving compilation time error saying that some service is not referenced in composite.
6. I have also tried other options of using “Sub-process” or another process and invoking it but nothing seems to work.
Any help/pointers? Thanks a lot.

Problem in generating WSDL file for triggering BPM process

Hello Experts,
I have a working BPM process which I want to trigger using a web service. I am referring following blog link to generate New WSDL file and perform further operations:

However, it everything goes well until I set the type for the "New Element". I want to set type to context of my component controller. So I selected Set type --> Enclosing Project and I seleted Context of my component controller.
Upon saving this, I am getting this error:
"../../rep/ui/com.sap.demo.wd_ui_mna.wd.comp.c_fillmynameage.C_FillMyNameAgeInterface.xsd" is not a path relative to "src/wsdl/NewWSDLFile.wsdl" because it contains too many '../'
I am not sure what is happening here. I have also removed the response element(s) from WSDL source.
What am I missing here?

How to start BPM process WSDL from WDA

I need to start BPM Process from SRM ECC with WDA; i have been through this link ;

- I have a WSDL in order to start BPM process and works fine as i successfully call it from EP Java AS with WDJ..
- What i need to do is to trigg it from SRM Screens so i need to call this WSD from ECC, so;
When i try to create a consumer proxy using external wsdl option, after putting in WSDL Url it throws an error;

BPM Process Context Issue

Hi Experts,
Can i use WDJ context as process context in BPM(Once i assigned WDJ component to a Task, i can able to see the WD context in Data types ) or we have to create a separate xsd in BPM. i came to know about this functionality so only asked.
Also i want to pass more values during starting of the process. I know it can be done through WS. Any other option is available?

Hi Arun,
You are triggering the Process in WDJ with a webservice. so the values you assigned to the WS attributes in WD will be available in Start event of the Process.(not in the process context)
Now you can have mapping between your start event and process context to get the data in process context and use it further steps.
