Upgrade Analytics 7.8 - OBIEE 10.1.3.3.2 - Scheduler configuration

Hi,
I have upgraded the analytics environment 7.8 to OBIEE 10.1.3.3.2.
I have configured the OBI Presentation Services to identify the credential store :
extract from instanceconfig.xml :

Presentation and Scheduler services start up but when I try to connect to Answers, I get the following error message :
Unable to contact server.
An encrypted password was found in the credential 'admin', but no decryption passphrase has been specified. Please ensure that a decryption passphrase is specified in configuration. See documentation for details on how to configure the credential store.
Error Codes: WUDC2HWW

Yes I have solved it by rerunning cryptotools utility , and don't encrypt the password. It seems there is a bug in the process of encrypting the pwd. Now it works fine

    We are also planning to upgrade Siebel Analytics 782+Infa 712+DAC to OBIEE 101341+ Bi Apps 7962+Infa861+DAC101341. We are using Sales Analytics module. Have a few questions regarding this situation:
    1. After upgrading SA 782 to OBIEE 101341, we got a seeded rpd for BIApps 7962, but we also have a SA 782 rpd which has been customized with some changes. I have seen the Repository upgrade steps mentioned in Upgrade guide for Informatica Power Center User and it has the process of Equalizing the rpds and merging. If I use this will I be getting my customization's merged in to the out of box BI Apps rpd under the same business model?
    What would be the best way to merge these two rpds, two way merge and keep the business models seperate or try to redo the customization in the new rpd?
    2. For DAC, does all customization's have to be moved manually into the 101341 or can be exported?
    3. For Informatica while upgrading the repository to 861, does the repository from version 712 has to be restored into the same database schema as the out of box 861 repository? Or restore the old 712 repository into a new database schema, upgrade the content and use the Informatica Repository manager tool to copy the custom folder s from old repository to out of box repository is enough?

    Just to clarify, let's say you have tab 1 Google results and tab 2 something else. When you Ctrl+click a link in tab 1, it opens between tab 1 and tab 2 instead of at the end? Here's how you switch that:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''tabs''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the '''browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent''' preference to switch it from true to false.
    You can switch back to an earlier tab and test. Success?

  • Upgraded  the phone to ios5.1 and now is stuck at configuring iphone

    upgraded iphone 4s to ios5.1 and now is stuck at configuring iphone.  Also, restored the phone but no luck

    I upgraded my iphone 4 to ios 5.1 as well and now it stuck in recovery mode for almost 10 hours since yesterday. I tried restoring it on my itunes but failed. My phone now could not be recognized on itunes and everytime i restore it, it shows an error occuring (1) I got no idea how to solve it now and i have no more phone to use.

    Can siebel analytics 7.8.2 and obiee 10.1.3.4.1 be installed on the same machine? Can I have 2 separate folders Siebel Analytics and Siebel analyticsdata for 7.8.2 installation and OracleBI and OracleBIdaata folders for the 10.3.4.1. installation?

  • Find the built reports without accessing analytics page in OBIEE 11g

    Hi everyone,
    I am working with OBIEE 11g. This week I got a problem, I am unable to start the BI Services. I just can access Weblogic Server Console and Enterprise Manager but not the analytics page where I can build dashboards, answers, agents etc.
    I have done a full backup of the server where the whole BI Application resides. But after the backup, I have added many reports. I have the copy of the repository file .rpd after adding these new reports. What I am proposing now is to make a backup of the server actual state, then restore the old backup of the server and use the copy of the repository file. But it requires a lot of work to add the reports made before. Is there any way or place where to find the built reports even though the BI services are unable to start? I can acces the WLS and Enterprise Manager. If it is possible to find the reports, we can just restore to the last backup of the server and resolve the problem. Please help me.

  • Warnings in the Upgrade Log file for OBIEE 11G from 10G

    I am new to OBI 11g.
    I have installed simple type OBI 11g (version - 11.1.1.5.0) on a single server(Windows 2003, RAM-4GB,CPU-2.8GHz Dual Core ). I used upgrade assistant to upgrade the RPD & Webcat from 10.1.3.4.1 version to 11g, but I got about 50K warnings in the upgarde log file for the web catalog. They were basically 2 types as below -

    Does someone know this warning and if this requires a fix or it would not impact any reports or dashboards? This error is about 25K times in the upgrade log file.

    I have checked this error on Oracle support web and it says that this warning is fine as there have been some features in 10G that would not be in the OBI 11G and are not required. I am still not convinced why there should be any warning for this type of issue.
    Please let me know if someone has faced these warnings in when doing the upgrade of the 10g RPD and Webcat to 11g together.
    Just as note, the services start fine and I could login to the application with users and see the dashboards and reports although I did not check all the dashboards and reports as this is a POC before doing the actual upgrade.

  • NULL and Unspecified in Dashboard prompts after upgrading 10g to 11g OBIEE

    Hi All,
    We are working on OBI upgradation project from 10g to 11.1.1.6.5. We are facing one issue in Dashboard prompt level. If we can create Dashboard prompt on a column, its giving "NULL", "Unspecified" additionally. But, in 10g there are no extra values.
    And the 10g, 11g instances are pointing to the same database and there are no NULL, Unspecified values in Database level.
    Through some blogs and articles we found some solutions n are below.
    To remove NULL:
    -->Go to the Physical Column properties in Physical Layer and Disable the Nullable option by uncheck the box.
    -->Go to the Database Features in Physical Layer and disable value to NULL_SUPPORTED.
    -->Go to Edit Dashboard Prompt, in Choice List Values drop-down list select SQL Results.
    To remove Unspecified:
    -->Go to Edit Dashboard Prompt, in Choice List Values drop-down list select SQL Results, then write the SQL statements as columnname is not equals to "Unspecfied" ( In this way we can able to remove Null's also.)
    -->Go to Content tab of LTS, in Where clause write an SQL query to restrict Unspecified values.
    Note: CHeck with ETL, because if they maintains the Default value is Null when the Datatype is Character and they can maintain 9999 or #### if the datatype is Numeric. And check the Physical query and debug it carefully.
    But, we have very big Repository and we have huge no.of Dashboard prompts. So, its not an easy thing to manage by using above solutions. Correct me if there are any mistakes in above.
    Any ideas on this...?

    Hi Frnds,
    As of now, i found the only solution for the above mentioned issue that how to avoid NULL in dashboard prompt level:
    Go to the Physical Column properties in Physical Layer and Disable the Nullable option by uncheck the box.
    We have done this manually for all tables.

    Step 1: shut down all the application services and database.
    Step 2: Take a cold backup of both file systems (APPS Tier and DB Tier)
    Step 3: Start the database listener and keep database in open state.
    Step 4: Ensure the binutils -2.17.50.6-6.0.1.el5 .
    If it is higher than above version downgrade it to avoid the error of                relink module “MSSCPP”.
    Step 5: Increase the size of table space APPS_TS_TX_DATA, SYSAUX and enable
    auto extend on to the added datafile      
    Step 6: To check the datafile location and file ID query the below SQL statement
    SQL>select file_name, tablespace_name from dba_data_files where               tablespace_name='APPS_TS_TX_DATA' order by file_name;
    Step 7: To increase the table space size, query the below SQL statement.
    SQL>ALTER TABLESPACE APPS_TS_TX_DATA add datafile '/u01/oracle/TESTEBS/db/apps_st/data/a_txn_data_05.dbf' size 3G autoextend on;
    Step 8: unzip the necessary patches and give the permissions to application user
                 to access the patches.
    Step 9: Apply R12.AD.B.DELTA.3 - Patch 9239089
    Create $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/admin on the database server.
    Copy adgrants.sql (UNIX) from this patch directory 9239089 to $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/admin.
    Set the environment to point to ORACLE_HOME on the database server.
    Use SQL*Plus to run the script- $ sqlplus "/ as sysdba"
    SQL> @$ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/admin/adgrants.sql APPS
    Enable maintenance mode with adadmin, and set the environment to correct apps environment.
    Apply 9239089 using adpatch tool
    It prompts us the default location of the patch. We have to give the location of patch where its stored.
    It prompts us driver file which was in the patch directory, we have to give it e.g.: u9239089.drv
    Step 10: Apply Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.3 patch 9239090
    It prompts us the default location of the patch, we have to give the location. Example [/d01/oracle/NewVis/apps/12.1.3/9239090]
    It prompts us the driver file for the patch, we have to give the file.
    Example: [u9239090.drv] which was in the patch directory.
    Step 11: Apply the Online help file patch 9239095

    Step 12: Apply the consolidated patch 9817770
    It prompts us the driver file for the patch, we have to give the file.

    Step 14: Run Autoconfig
    Source the application env file. Then run autoconfig in apps tier.

    Now generate the appsutil.zip file.
    $ perl /bin/admkappsutil.pl
    Copy appsutil.zip file in DB_HOME. Unzip the appsutil.zip file.
    After sourcing the database env file run autoconfig in database tier.
    Step 15: Run Pre-Clone
    Now run preclone in db tier first, then in apps tier
    perl adpreclone.pl dbTier
    perl adpreclone.pl appsTier
    These are all the steps we used to follow in the normal environments
    Kindly let us the procedure to follow in the DMZ environments.

    Did you make sure the database patches listed in 761570.1 are applied before applying 12.1.3 upgrade patch? I don't see them listed in your post.
    I just checked 12.1.1 freshly installed instance and found following patches missing on 11.1.0.7.0 database which is installed with 12.1.1

    What sort of installation you are trying to do..???
    Enterprise or Software only..?
    From where you have downloaded the OBIEE 11g 11.1.1.6.0 dump..? edelivery or from other source..??
    Your error is saying that patch +"p6599470_111070_Generic.zip"+ is missing.
    Down load it from oracle and apply the patch. The details, How to apply the patch will be provided in that zip file only.

  • OBIEE 11G error while installation at the configuration setting(ASinstance)

    Hi Experts,
    I am trying to Install OBIEE 11G on Windows on Local PC.But getting the following error .
    "Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space" at the configuration step of ASinstance.
    I have set the virtual memory to maximum.Machine's RAM is 2 GB and Virtual memory is 4 GB which meeets system requirement for OBI.
    I have treid few options but nothing seems to workout :( . and even Downloaded and tried to Install the software again.
    Any help on this highly appreciated.

    I checked FMW_SECURITY_SERVICE_URL parameter in the NQSConfig.ini file.
    This parameter is using VIP (admin server listen to this) and not the actual IP of the server.
    Should I change this URL and point it to actual IP.
    What is the procedure to change this parameter using EM?

  • Upgrade to R2 from SCOM 2012 SP 1 UR 4 - Final configuration failed to install

    I was upgrading our test SCOM 2012 SP1 UR 4 sever to R2 and ran into the following issue:
    Setup cannot be completed…  Final configuration failed to install.
    Everything else upgraded fine.

    The log states “Access to the path 'EULA_EN_EVAL.RTF' is denied.”  I was able to find this file in D:\Program Files\System Center 2012\Operations Manager\SetupTemp\EN, but when viewing its contents I see it
    was from the SP 1 upgrade as it starts off with “MICROSOFT EVALUATION SOFTWARE LICENSE TERMS MICROSOFT SYSTEM CENTER 2012 STANDARD SERVICE PACK 1.”  Based on everything else referenced in the log file previously, it seems like it was trying to locate
    this file in D:\Program Files\System Center 2012\Operations Manager\Setup.  Also, I applied the product key after installing SP1 previously, so it was not running with an evaluation license.
    Running Get-SCOMManagementGroup | ft skuforlicense, version, timeofexpiration –a
    gives me:
    SkuForLicense Version     TimeOfExpiration
           Retail 7.1.10226.0 12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM
    The version (7.1.10226.0) is that of SCOM 2012 R2 (as I noted before, there was no rollback.)  Everything seems to be functioning fine (Console, Web Console, Reporting Services.)
    Is there a way to get it to re-run only the Final Configuration steps (which will probably fail again as the EULA file does not exist where it expects it)?  I am not sure if there were supposed to be any further
    configuration steps that did not get completed, so i dont know how stable SCOM is now.  Should I re-run the R2 installer?  Or is it OK as is?  The only info online about a SCOM Install where the final configuration failed to install dealt with
    an error upgrading the SCOM Console, which is not relevant to my situation.  This is my test SCOM environment, running on a VM.  I could revert to the pre-upgrade snapshot and see if another upgrade attempt completes successfully, but if that does
    work I am concerned that something like this may happen in my prod environment, which is not running on a VM, so has no ability to revert to a snapshot.
