Upgraded fcs and no client conect

i just upgraded my FCS and now my clients will not connect. the computer restarted after the up grade and i followed the best practices, but now there seams to be no web interface for the clients to connect to?
any one have any surgestions

What upgrade did you do? If you just went to 1.5 you may want to follow the step in the kb article here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3836. If it was just a minor upgrade, however, you should be able to just download the client again via http://hostname-of-server/finalcutserver and connect.

hi, really sorry as I said I'm somewhat of a newbie, was waiting to see what you guys thought might be relevant so I could tell you what I've got, here goes:
    graphics card: nvidia geforce GTX660.
DE/WM (I assume is desktop environment): gnome
unsure about how I start X (sorry I understand I am a newbie)
oh and everything does seem to be hanging, ctrl-c does nothing.
there were no messages from the update, I checked pacman and didn't see any warnings, (is there any kind of log I can check in case I missed something?), I've chrooted into the disk through the installation medium to reinstall the graphics card drivers (as suggested here https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=153206)

  • Upgraded and Migrated Clients Still Connecting To Old MP

I'm doing a migration from one site to another and I've just started with one ip range boundary. I did a discovery on the new systems and they all show up in my new site and the clients are getting installed. The only problem is that they are still connecting
to the old MP. I can see this in ClientLocation.log. What am I missing?
    Orange County District Attorney

    Hi,
Could it be that the SCCM clients in the old site was distributed uisng a GPO? That GPO is "tattoing" so you need to clear that value in the registry if that was used otherwise that will overwrite all ways to set/discover the
    site code for a client.
Here is a post on the topic:
    http://blog.coretech.dk/heh/new-agents-will-not-re-assign-to-configmgr-2012-site/
Also check which site have Boundary Groups configured for site assignment as well. that could alos cause this issue.

  • Upgrade Error Failed to upgrade SAP Business One Client

    Hi All,
I have upgraded one of our customers from SAP 9.0 to 9.1 PL5.
Everything upgraded successfully through the wizard. When launching the client, the 32 bit client upgraded with no errors. When attempting to open the 64 bit client  I get the error above. I have also uninstalled the 64 bit client and re installed from the B1-Shr folder with the same result.
This is a 64 bit Windows Server 2008 R2 machine. Log files are not showing any errors.
Has anyone never ran into this?
    Sincerely,
    Chris Sorensen

    Chris
I just had this happen with PL06.
It gave me this message for both 32 bit and 64 bit client
When I checked - even though it said it had not upgraded the 32 bit client it already had.
With the 64 bit client I had to 100% reboot and go directly to the client upgrade and then it worked.
You might try that.  Seems like something was interfering with it.

  • Are there any problems with Snow Leopard Server (Xserve) and PPC Clients

    Hi,
are there any problems identified yet with Snow Leopard Server, installed on a Xserve and PPC Clients running Mac OS X Tiger and Leopard?
Currently I have a Xserve Intel running Leopard Server and about 12 Mac Minis PPC running Mac OS X Tiger and Mac OS X Leopard. The Xserve serves services like DNS, OpenDirectory, Software Update Server, NetBoot, etc. All users have Home Directories stored on the Xserve.
Now I want to install Snow Leoaprd Server on the Xserve, but I wonder if there are any problems using the PPC Clients? I have read something like this on a german website.
    Thanks!

We've actually found that the Server 10.6.3 DVD does an amazingly smooth job of upgrading 10.5.8. We've been upgrading our production servers and nothing has gone wrong yet. Snow Leopard employs an archive and install method of upgrading which results in an install which is very close to a clean install. So it's been very convenient for us because our servers are used as Windows PDCs and it's a pain in the *** to have to re-join all PCs to the domain if we start from scratch.

  • Latest FCS and 20" 2.4ghz iMAC...

running 2gig of RAM with the ATI Radeon HD2400T (128MB card), with an external FW800 RAID -- project footage shot with HVX200 P2 -- 720/24P Native... Anyone running this type of configuration, cutting this format? Will it RUN on the new iMAC?
I'm looking to use the FCP and Motion applications only.
I'm assuming once I purchase the FCS and OS upgrade for our 17" MBP, I can load the upgraded FCS onto the iMAC (provided its not on any other Mac)

Sure it will. I would look to max out the RAM though. I am runninga 17" MBP with about the same specs using very similar footage and it does very well.
I'm looking to use the FCP and Motion applications only.
FCP will run fine, you may find Motion a little sluggish with that video card.

Per the EULA you may have FCS installed on one desktop and one notebook as long as they are not being used at the same time and that they are owned by the same person.

  • Are admin and office clients always updated for each service pack.

    Hi,
I am investigating upgrading our BPC version from 7.0 SP3.   The question I have been asked by my business clients is "do the admin and office clients of BPC always get updated with each service pack?"  I assume they do because the install guide indicates that you must update them to the same version as the server.  Upgrading the client versions is always a concern here because since we don't allow the automatic update our plans have to include packaging an SMS deployment to over 500 workstations of several different configurations and locations.

    Hi,
Yes, there are changes in the clients in every service pack. This is why it's important that the version of the client matches the version on the server. We've seen issues where there was a mismatch and no one could log in because of the changes in the client.
I would advise always updating the clients when adding a new service pack.

  • Upgrading SQL and 2007 question

I am upgrading a client from SQL 2000 to 2008 and also upgrading them from SBO 2005 to 2007.  I assume that I will need to upgrade SQL first and then SBO?
    Is this correct?
    Thanks, Jeff

    Hi All,
To clarify. There is no need to uninstall anything related to SAP Business One when performing an upgrade.
Follow the steps in the upgrade guide and all the components will be upgraded automatically
    Server tools,
    SBO-Common
    B1 client,
    B1 database
Please also check with Microsoft any issues you might face when upgrading MS SQL 2000 to 2008, I have not heard of any though.
As always, ensure you have full backups of all databases including SBO-Common and that you test fully in a demo environment first. Also Note 1000846 is quiet useful.

  • FEP and SCEP Client updates

There multible versions of client deployed at same time. I'm using stadard software updates deployment process to keep clients up to date. NOT talking about definitions, but client version!
I have FEP and SCEP clients out there. When I go to All software updates and search for "endpoint protection client" I will have four FEP (4.1.552.0, 4.3.215.0, 4.5.236.0, 4.6.305.0) updates and three SCEP updates (4.3.215.0, 4.5.216.0, 4.6.305.0)
to client deployed in the same update packages! All of them with various number of Required and Installed status.
The obious reason for this is that older client update packages are not marked as superseeded updates. Any thoughts on why? I am going to exclude old ones with custom severity method, but is there a automatic method available?
    .Marko

Multiple SCEP/FEP updates are required, because SCEP/FEP agent can update only N-2 versions e.g. you cannot install SCEP version 4.6.305.0 to a computer with SCEP 4.3.215.0. You need first to upgrade 4.3 to 4.5 and then to 4.6.Because there might be earlier
versions in the environment, there must be multiple SCEP/FEP versions available.
Check the following blog article for more details:

  • Upgrading db2 connect thin client from v9.1 to v9.5

I'm looking for instructions on how to upgrade the db2 connect thin client CLI and JDBC drivers from v9.1 to v9.5 (latest fixpack). I found note 867976 describing how to update the JDBC portion. I'm wondering if there is an official way of upgrading the CLI client, now that this is normally automatically installed as part of the SAPINST process.  We want to upgrade our system from v9.1 thin client ot v9.5 thin client to use the new functionality.
(We have instructions for upgrading from v9 Fat client to v9.5 thin client.)

1.Copied new driver version into db2_clidriver and jdbc folders.
    2. Ran db2radm to bind new collection
    3. Used sappad to change connect.ini file back to Unix format.
    4. Restarted Cluster.
    New version working now.

  • Co-existing 9i and 10g clients

I have a mobile application running on about 300 9i Lite clients on WinCE 3.01 syncing over GPRS with 9i Mobile Server and a 9i database. I'm planning to upgrade the clients to a WM5/6 device and want to avoid a big bang cutover.
My initial thought is to upgrade Mobile Server to 10gR3, keeping 9i DB and the existing devices on 9i Lite. I would then introduce 10g Lite clients in phases so that the 9i Lite clients would be replaced over a couple of months.
I've had various reponses from Oracle about how well 9i and 10g clients will co-exist against a 10g Mobile Server - the summary of which is that it should work but it's not recommended or supported.
Does anyone have experience of whether this is a viable production solution during the transition period? Or are there any better ways to do a phased client cutover?
    Thanks.

I am in a similar predicament at the moment as well. I know they can co-exist, but I have run into issues on a win32/webtogo platform. I will update this post if I find a bullet proof way of doing it.

  • Upgrade from Snow Leopard (Client) to Snow Leopard Server

    Hi,
can I upgrade from Snow Leopard client (10.6.3) to the Server (10.6.3) without having to reformat my disk and delete all the apps etc?
    Thanks

    Hi Michele,
Upgrading from 10.6 to 10.6 Server is unfortunately not possible without an erase and install of the Server OS.
If you want to preserve your Client OS initially, you could split the primary disk partition and install 10.6 Server on the other partition, then remove the Client OS partition when ready and reclaim the disk space for the Server partition.

  • Issue with parallel operation of SAP NW SSO 2.0 and SNC Client Encryption (Logon Groups)

    Hi!
One of our customers is using the SNC Client Encryption solution to ensure encryption using SNC (based on Kerberos Technology) for their SAP GUI Dialog connections. They have lots of SAP backends DEV, QAS, PRD all with the SNC Client Encryption SNC Lib installed. The profile parameter snc/identity/as contains the following value: p:CN=SAP/<ServiceAccount>@<DOMAIN>.
    Example: p:CN=SAP/[email protected]
The customer is using one AD Service Account "SNCServiceUser" with one registered SPN "SAP/SNCServiceUser" for all systems (yes, this is not recommended... but the case).
Important: All users use group entries in the SAP Logon (saplogin.ini). Means, for SAP logon the SNC name can not be manually configured on the SAP Front End. With group logons, the application server's SNC name is dynamically requested by the message server each time a SAP GUI connection is started. The SNC Name is greyed out in this case as dynamically obtained from the applications servers profile parameter snc/identity/as.
Now our customer implements SAP NetWeaver Single Sign-On 2.0 within his landscape. Based on the Secure Login Server 2.0 (SP3) he likes to use X.509 based authentication to his AS ABAP backends using SAP GUI SNC while others still use SNC Client Encryption.
Replacing the SNC Library on the AS ABAP
The Secure Login Library 2.0 (SP3) has been installed on one of the ABAP systems and the SNC Client Encryption SNC Library (which is based on SSO 1.0) is no longer used, thus we changed the parameter snc/gssapi_lib to point to the new SNC library. We removed the old PSE.ZIP containing the keytab and created the new SAPSNCSKERB.PSE incl. the keytab and proper credentials. To ensure parallel operation, we kept the snc/identity/as value as is =  p:CN=SAP/[email protected].
After restarting the system with initialized Secure Login Library 2.0, still the SNC client encryption works fine for existing users.
    The problem
We created on the Secure Login Server an SNC certificate for the AS ABAP which has the following X.509 Distinguised Name Fomat: CN=SAP/[email protected] This is to avoid having to change the snc/identity/as to an "real" X.509 DN which would lead to non-working SNC Client Encryption for all the other users using SAP GUI and logon groups.
As soon as we install the PSE via STRUST on the system the SNC Client Encryption solution stops working with error „Server refuses kerberos key exchange“.
As part of an pilot implementation we have installed Secure Login Client 2.0 (SP3) on some test PCs. The test PC with SLC is able to perform Single Sign-On with SNC based on X.509 (incl. Encryption) to the ABAP system.
Seems the SAP System now only tries to do X.509 based authentication thus key exchange fails. The problem is, we cannot change the snc/identity/as value because of the logon groups. If we were able to do so, we would in any case set the server identity to X.509 DN and in addition create the SAPSNCSKERB.PSE incl. keytab. This should work, as confirmed by SAP see this post.
Any ideas how to solve this and have both solutions in parallel?
    Appreciate any help.
    Regards,
    Carsten

    Hi all,
we was able to fix the issue. It was an issue with the customers cluster configuration and the  $SECUDIR variable. This tricky issue leads to non working or sporadic working SNC Client Encryption...
This was how the configuration looks before:
    Environment variable $SECUDIR is defined:
    "/ABCDEF<SID>/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSxx/sec“
    sapgenpse seclogin -l -v
    running seclogin with USER="<SID>adm"
    Credentials for username '<SID>adm':
    0 (LPS:OFF):
             (LPS:OFF): /ABCDEF<SID>/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSxx/sec/SAPSNCSKERB.pse
    1 (LPS:OFF):
             (LPS:OFF): /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSxx/sec/SAPSNCS.pse
After changing the $SECUDIR to "/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSxx/sec“ and re-creating the credentials, it worked like a charm.
As a result of this we can confirm, this configuration and SNC Client Encryption works with CommonCryptoLib in parallel to the SSO configuration.
And Valerie was right with 2. SLC starting from V. 1.0 SP2 PL3 was able to convert the CN= part of the SNC Name into an SPN, was my mistake. In addition SNC Client Encryption starting from Version 1 SP1 PL1 does this also.. just to make this clear
Thread closed hope this helps someone

@ Kuncklesmac > You're right about Snow Leopard being an upgrade from Leopard. I'm aware of this. And yes previously i've been told by Apple that I needed the Box Set (not the family pack.  i am using the family pack for OS Snow Leopard) to upgrade my 10.4.11 mac - they never mentioned adding ram but i figured that out on my own and an apple specialist recommended it when i purchased Snow Leopard and confirmed that I coul duse the Snow Leopard to upgarde from Tiger (10.4.11). I've also read extensively (as i said above) that it isn't necessary (always) to buy the box set. Several 10.4.11 users report having upgraded using the Snow Leopard upgrade disk only (not the Box Set) without trouble on intel macs (also see the apple link i posted). So i'm just ondering how they did it and i cannot.
