Upgraded my 2g iphone to a 3gs
Hi:
I upgraded my 2g iphone to a 3gs 16gb, I noticed that it did not come with the cradle that the 2g had. The cables are the same and interchangeable, however when I tried the cradle in the new 3gs, I found a resistance. It does makes sense to me, if the cables are interchangeable, the cradle should also be for both. I do not want to force it before I make sure that this is the case or not. Could some one help me with this issue.

I have just bought a new iphone 4 as an upgrade to my iphone 3GS. How can I transfer all my apps including saved levels in games etc. and data and folders to the new iphone 4 and keep facetime etc on the new iphone 4. i have just upgraded from an iPhone 3Gs to an iPhone 5. I am trying to transfer all my content via icloud but having problems logging in - it keeps telling me the server is not responding. Nano sim hasn't yet been registered - does this affect things?

I have a iPhone 3GS that I am about to upgrade to a iPhone 4S. I am still using version 4.0.1 since I am always skittish about changing anything. The most important things that I need saved are my Contacts, Calendars, and Notes. I upgraded to a newer PC and I don't think that I can sync all the same options as I could before. I am using iTunes 10.6.3.25. I want to be sure that I can transfer my Contacts, Calendars, and Notes t the new phone. Any help will be ppreciated!!
That's not a problem bro... all you need to do is to hold on your power bottom for 3 sec. (keep hold) after hold your home bottom for 7 sec. (with your power bottom). after 7 sec. release power bottom (only) and keep hold press your home bottom. then DFU mode... now you can update the latest software,,, keep watching youtube for more info.

ThanksIf you restore your new phone from the backup of your old phone & re-sync the same itunes content, as described in the support article, your new phone will be identical to your old phone relative to content. This is the route most people want to go. You can set it up as a "new" phone, the choice is yours. If you restore from a backup, all you'll have to enter on the new phone is email passwords & wifi passwords. They aren't copied to the new phone for security reasons.

I have just rceived an upgrade to an iPhone 3GS. Now, when I visit the Store all the prices are in US dollars, not a big problem but I cannot edit my card details or contact to a UK address. I cannot see how to change this.

I tried to restore the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast but feedburner refused.
I know that I missed things up but I still have hope in working things out.

Okay, I just read an article stating that it will cost a fat wallet to upgrade from the 3G to the 3GS, because of the whole contract early/late upgrade thing whatever. I still have the normal iPhone and I didn't upgraded to the new 3G. My contract has long been done and fulfilled. Do I have to pay the same crazy amount as 3G users to upgrade or will I have the benefit of buying it with the original $199/$299 price?

I think you may have some luck here. As you said, you have already completed your 2-year contract, right?
If so, then I think you can enjoy that subsidized price by opening a new two-year AT&T wireless service contract.
Still, I think you should contact AT&T to clear this ideas. Hope this helps! -

A couple of months ago, I upgraded to an iPhone 3GS from an iPhone 3G. I Really enjoy the 3GS, but I still like to use my 3G as an iPod. My question is, If I update my 3G to the new 3.1 software will it update the phone or will it brick it because it is no longer activated on a cell network?

New iPhone OS renders 3GS inoperable and unusable
Beware of upgrading your 3GS to a newer version of OS. I purchased a newer 3GS phone in April 2010 and now it has been rendered simply worthless and unusable. I spoke with Apple support who simply moved me to the very latest OS several weeks ago. The problem of unbelievable slowness and delay in keyboard response and recognition has rendered my 9 month old iPhone unusable. The representatives at the local AT&T store confirmed my worst fears and cringed at my demo of slowness during simple calling and waiting between most menu changes of 3 to 5 seconds and more. My coverage with AT&T in my marketplace is marginal and this phone issues has simply broken my loyalty with AT&T. I placed my order for a new plan and number change to Verizon with a Droid Phone. I really think this problem has been brushed under the rug by Apple and it will cost them many converts to phones that look and operate as simply as their iPhone products. Buyer Beware.

I upgraded from an iphone 4 to a 4s, after a few initial problems and two restores, everythings seemed to be working...until I went to play some music, all music loaded to itunes via CD's played, but ALL purchased music from itunes does not play...i click on the song and the screen flashes to the image then goes back to the list of songs, so the purchased music shows up...just does not play. Can anyone help resolve this problem? Thanks!
here is an interesting thing: take the iphone and set lock screen to never. Now make an email with siri--be sure to activate her with call button. get to the body and get some text in there. then just stop talking. LOCK SCREEN APPEARS!!!!!! and of course you draft is gone.
There does seem to be a work around for some--maybe all these issues. Don't use the call button--use the buttons on the phone.
Siri seems to behave properly with scenerio above---sans call button. She does not go to lock. -

I recently upgraded from my iPhone 3 to iPhone 4s. My old iPhone had not completed a sync in some time because of a faulty cable. But the old phone still will not sync properly even with the new cable.
Now that I have my new iPhone, I would like to first sync the old phone so all the data will be available for the new phone. I would also like to have an extra copy of my audio ebooks on the old iPhone so my husband and I can both listen at the same time using earphones while driving long distances in the car and then discuss the book. We have been unable to do this with the old iPhone alone due to constant road noise.I'm not sure what made the difference, but I tried again and it worked this time. ???????????

My husband and I have upgraded our phones (iPhone 4s and iPhone 5) to the iPhone 5s. We have given 2 of our kids the "old" phones and want to set them up as an iPod touch. Both kids have email and need to be able to text (iMessage).
I have read multiple posts on how to do this and I am still confused.
Apple ID/ICoud:
We want to be able to monitor what they do, but do not want their devices linked to our emails/contacts/etc... Each kid has their own email account. So, from what I have read the best way to do this is to use our family Apple ID, but set them up with a separate iCloud account? Is this correct?
Reset/Restore/DFU:
To start fresh we have done multiple factory resets. I did one that someone said was a DFU and a plan ol' factory reset, etc... Not sure the difference. However, when I do that I get the "hello" screen and am able to start setting the phone up anew. However, when I go to set the phone up as an iPod I end with the same result.
So, here is what I am doing (tell me what I am doing wrong):
Hello Screen
Asks me to select language and selecting: English
Select Your Country or Region: United States
Choose a Wi-Fi Network: select my home wi-fi network
Enter password: entered my home wi-fi network password
Activiate iPhone - wants me to enter Apple ID and Passwordsays that this iphone is currently linked to an Apple ID (k*******@gmail.com). Sign in with the Apple ID that was used to set up this iPhone.
Location Services - I have enabled location services
Set Up iPhone
Set Up as New iPhone
Apple ID
Options are to sign in with your Apple ID or Create a Free Apple ID
Or I could "skip this step"
I signed in with my Apple ID
Terms and Conditions - Agree
iCloud - I can select either to use iCloud or Don't Use iCloud - I selected use iCloud
Find My iPhone - I can select either to use find my iPhone or to not - I selected use find my iphone
Once I do this it says iMessage and FaceTime and shows the following:
my email
my other child's cell phone number
and my husband's work phone number
This is where things do not make sense. I only want the phone set up with the current child's email address. Where did I go wrong?There are a number of Apple services: iMessage, FaceTime, iCloud, Game center, Find My iPad, etc.
Now, to share apps, music and books you need to have the same Apple ID:
iPad's Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID > Your purchasing Apple ID.
For the other service, your wife should have her own Apple ID.
All she needs is a valid e-mail address, apply Apple ID below:
