Upload Korean Characters using GUI_UPLOAD/WS_UPLOAD

Hi,
I have a problem in uploading Korean Characters.
When I gte the data in WS_UPLOAD it is not showing properly .
I did the following :
1) Changed Code Page to 8500 - Korean.
2) Logged in Korean Language.
3) Used Code Page 8500 in Korean Characters as parameter.
4) Tried to use file type - UTF8, Unicode.
But I am not using Korean OS .
Pleas let me know if I am missing somehting.
Thanks,
Vijay.

Hi, Vijay.
I am using Korean OS. so I'm not sure what kind of problem is... exactly .... in your case.
Anyway, I am using that fuction. and it works well.
try like this.
First, editing a file what you want to upload in EXCEL and save it with file type 'TEXT(seperated by TAB)'.
and upload it using that fuction (but use filetype 'DAT' not UTF8)...like this.
      call function 'WS_UPLOAD'
           exporting
                filename                = dataset
                filetype                = '<b>DAT</b>'
           tables
                data_tab                = itab
in my case, it works well.
I wish I could help you.
Good luck.
Best Regards
Kyung Woo.

    NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET is UTF8

    What data type is the column in the Oracle table? The NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET would control the encoding of NCHAR and NVARCHAR2 columns. The NLS_CHARACTERSET would control the encoding of CHAR and VARCHAR2 columns.

  • Upload Excel file using GUI_UPLOAD

    I'm trying to upload a regular excel (*.xls) using the fm <b>GUI_UPLOAD</b>, though sy-subrc is set to 0 after the function call, the data that is uploaded into the internal table shows junk. Any thoughts are welcome.

    Hi Ratan,
    There is no confusion in this,
    you can do this with GUI_UPLOAD but you will not get the uploaded internal table data in
    a right and organised way.
    but in case of ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE you will get those uploaded internal table data as below.
    ROW COL VALUE
    1        1       10
    1        2       20

  • Uploading cyrillic characters using XLIFF

    Hi!
    We would like to have a multilingual application including some non-latin character sets like chinese and russian character sets.
    We have translated from the primary language English (us-en) to French (fr), German (de) and Italian (it) without any problem.
    Uploading XLIFF with cyrillic characters was also accepted by HTML DB (and we just put cyrillic characters as the XML header stated it was supporting UTF8) but as soon as we try to run the application in Russian, all characters are replaced by "reversed question marks" symbols...
    Any idea why? Have we missed something? Have we done something wrong?
    Thanks in advance for help!

    François,
    Sorry, but nothing comes to mind how you could achieve this.
    The customer uploads a file encoded in UTF-8, it is then converted in the database from UTF-8 to the database character set, and then applied to the translation repository for your application. It is that second step of the process where the conversion is taking place, and utlimately failing for your Cyrillic characters.
    An alter session won't buy you anything. It's ultimately an issue with your current database character set not being able to support the Cyrillic characters.
    I can ask around, but at this time, nothing comes to mind.

  • Can't see Korean characters properly in text messages after latest update

    Pretty simple, Korean characters used to work on my Q10 (being able to see them), but now after the latest update, they show up as half Chinese characters and completely garbled and unreadable.
    This has basically made my Q10 useless to me, and I've moved back to my Galaxy S3. While I love my Q10 and BlackBerry, all of the bugs I've encountered has sort of made me... well, not happy.
    Is there any chance this particular issue is going to get fixed?
    Thanks.

    Just as additional information: moving my SIM card to a different phone and recieving the exact same text works on other phones, so it's definitely the Q10 and latest update (as I never had an issue previously with it).
