Upload patch sp04 at client side

Hi friends,
We successfully installed bpc7nw version. Recently updated patches upto sp04 on BI(Ehp1 side) for CPMBPC component.
Now we have to update client side support packs to sp04(i know sp08 latest). But my requirement is to upload patch sp04. I have seen one SDN document, which gives informtion on how to upload/install patches for SP02(.NET part).
Is the procedure for updating sp04 is simliar to sp02. Did you have any url on support packs updation for client side?
any suggestion pls ..

Hi Raju,
The way the upgrade is done is similar. The only thing you need to remember is that the SP level should be the same for the application server, ABAP, and the client. You can download the SP04 for all the components from SMP.

How can i load file into database from client-side to server-side

i want to upload file from client-side to server-side, i use the following code to load blob into database.
if the file is in the server-side, it can work, but if it in the client-side, it said that the system cannot find the file. i think it only will search the file is in the server-side or not, it will not search the client-side.
how can i solve it without upload the file to the server first, then load it into database??

Hi,
Without some more details of the configuration, its difficult to know
what's happening here. For example, what do you mean by client side
and server side, and where are you running the upload Java application?
If you always run the application on the database server system, but can't
open the file on a different machine, then it sounds like a file protection
problem that isn't really connected with the database at all. That is to
say, if the new FileInputStream (binaryFile) statement fails, then its not
really a database problem, but a file protection issue. On the other hand,
I can't explain what's happening if you run the program on the same machine
as the document file (client machine), but you can't write the data to the
server, assuming the JDBC connection string is set correctly to connect to
the appropriate database server.
If you can provide some more information, we'll try to help.

I have few requirement in the crytsal report asp,net page:-
1) If user click Print button of crystal report viewer toolbar then it goes to PDf then its show me all of my pages instead of showing me the current page on which i click print.
2) I want to use client side print..if user click on a my print button then i need to show print dailogue like image above in that if user click print then i need to print that current page.. let us consider im viewing I3 Invoice number using Crysatl report viewer Navagition then it show me as 3/7 in toolbar if user click on my print button then i need to print the page 3 only.. coz user clicked print on Page3.
3)My asp.net web app is in Hosting server if user click my print button then i need to show client print dailogue and it will show my cleint connected printer. Here crytsal report toolbar and other things should be hide. It should be like what we have designed in crystal report that alone should be get printed.
4) One more thing i want is if user gives I4 invoice no. in my textbox1 then click view report button then it will show that Invoice Report now its shows two pages, here if user click print then i need to print two pages coz it has two pages...

We have troubleshooted this and the only resolutions we've found are to run zac cc, zac ref, zac pl and sometimes it seems like deleting c:\windows\system32\grouppolicy will help.
In regards to the Event Viewer entry I posted, on any given machine I can issue the command gpupdate and it will put another entry into the Event Viewer (sometimes multiple ones). I've learned through research that if I "clean up" c:\windows\system32\grouppolicy\gpt.ini the errors go away, but once the policy is refreshed they come right back.

I'm not sure how to get Zenworks to use the cleaned up version nor and I too sure what those extra extensions are and how they got in there. I may need to contact Novell in regards to this, but since I'm already working on an SR with them I figured I'd go ahead and post here first.

Here are the groups I'm using. NOTE: These have been in affect throughout the issues experienced. Users will work perfectly fine then suddenly the problem will start happening without any policy change on our side.

URGENT: Need to read file on client side from a 9i form

Hi
I have developed a 9i form and I assumed I could use TEXT_IO to read a file on the client side and insert the data into a database table. However, I have just tested the form and discovered that TEXT_IO only looks for files on the application server and NOT the client side.
Does anyone know of a forms package in 9i that will do this for me? Using ftp to get the file onto the application server is not really an option.

We are sure that we do not have the WebUtil package installed in our environment. We are using a thrid party forms 9i application which we can tailor by adding our own forms to the existing menus. The third party application has some upload screens provided that are able to do upload a file without using WebUtil. Is there any other way this could be done? I have asked the third party to provide some asistance with this but they are not too forthcoming. Is there any other way you know of using Oracle/forms that allows a file to be read on the client side and sent to the application server? Oracle logs was mentioned by someone I talked to but this means nothing to me.

"ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel error" in client side

Problem Description: we have a production server that oracle 11gr2 installed and oracle clients (application servers) with 11gr2 clients. Sometimes we encounter internal server error 500 at the application server side; and when we check out the application server logs we see ORA-03113 error code.

what could be the problem or how can i trace it in order to determine the exact problem? is there any parameter that i need to adjust in client side to ensure that every connection reaches the production server ?

There is often an ORA-0600 or ORA-7445 behind these.
These should produce an entry in the alert log and an associated trace file which a) can be used in the ORA-600/7445 lookup tool on Metalink and also uploaded to Oracle Support.

"If you connect to the database with the DriverManager.getConnection() method, then use the connect string jdbc:oracle:kprb:. For example:
DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:kprb:");
Note that you could include a user name and password in the string, but because you are connecting from the server, they would be ignored."
So if you're coding a shared class that is to run on both the client and server side, you might do something like this:

Full mask permission in SharePoint using Client Side Object Model

Full mask permission in SharePoint using Client Side Object Model does not include all the base permission while it does have all base permission in server side . Is this a bug ?
Or do we have any workaround for this.
BasePermissions.Set(PermissionKind.FullMask); is not updating all the permissions.

Creating/copying documents using client side object (javascript)

Hi
I want to the user to press a button and this creates or copies documents (Excel) into a document library on the same site. There are many examples showing how to do this for a list but how can it be achieved for documents?
I've looked at SPFile.CopyTo method but dont know how to use it.
So the source file would have a number of destination files and the name and column data would be altered at time of creation. Looking for a client side javascript solution.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to copy or create excel files into a document library using JavaScript Client Object Model.
For copying excel files, you can use get_files function to get files within a specific folder , and then you can use file collection
push function to copy files and get_name function to get the file name.

XSL Fragment into HTML via Client-Side Transform

I am designing a site for a school. I searched and found the
post here from July 25, and I have also read the Dreamweaver
help file till I'm blue in the face. They talk all around the
answer but never definitively say if it's possible to do this.
Dreamweaver help mentions:
-- Workflow for performting client-side xsl transformations
Do one of the following:
In your Dreamweaver site, create an entire XSLT page. See
Creating entire XSLT pages.
Convert an existing HTML page to an entire XSLT page. See
Converting HTML pages to XSLT pages.
All the online tutorials show server-side transforms but I'm
not skilled in that...nor do I know if the hosting entity will
provide that level of access to their .NET server.
---- ok. that's the background of the situation. Now to my
problem. ---
We plan to have two mutually exclusive areas on the home
page, such as news & events, that will be updated by a single
school employee. The plan is to create two XML text files that one
teacher can update.
The XMLfiles will be manually uploaded to the web site and
the home page will read that data into properly formatted
information on the home page. I would greatly prefer to keep the
entire process as a client-side procedure.
I have created and linked XSL fragments to the XML data.
If I try to copy and paste code from the XSL fragment into
the index HTML page, I get nothing.
Success comes only after converting the home page into an
XSLT 1.0 file using Dreamweaver and copying and pasting the code
fromt he XSL file into the newly created XSLT file.
Hence my questions:
1 Can I bring these XSL fragments into an HTML home page or
do I have to convert it to XSLT?
2. If I must convert the HTML file to an XSLT file, can
people still type the website address in as www dot site dot com
and the XSLT file will open without anyone knowing the difference?
3. Can I even do this with a client-side transform?
4. Is it possible for one page to reference two separate XSL
fragments pointing to the two separate respective XML files?

There does not seem to be a header involved that prevents caching.
You mention the "legacy ActiveX" control. In which sense is this control involved in the usecase? In my scenario I am pointing the browser to the XML document that has an associated stylesheet and the browser automatically executes the transform.
I am not explicitly triggering the transform via some script in the page.
Does the ActiveX control still play a role in this scenario?

Client side conflict solution fails

Hallo,
In our application we want to resolve synchronisation conflicts on the
client side.
For a specific SyncBO. We want the the client data to be dominant.
To achieve this we tried two ways of conflict resolvance:
1. We used the ErrorConflictInbox to loop over all conflicts for that
SyncBO and used the method acceptClientSyncBo on the SyncBoResponse
object

In the first case we did not get every conflict, in fact we only got
ONE unresolved conflict and the next time we only got SyncBoResponses
with status resolved.
In the second case we were able to process every conflict, but than the
following problem which applied also to the first case occured:
The SyncBoResponseState was changed to RESOLVED, but the BusinessObject
remaind in state 16 (BusinessObject.STATUS_IN_SYNC) and the client-/
and serverdata differed.
As far as I had understood, the client data now should have been send
to the server on the next synchronization, but the data had not been
synchronized until the BusinessObject had been changed again on the
client.
As it seemed to be necessary to change the data after the conflict had
been resolved, to make it synchronize again, we tried to make a change - change back cycle on some data, but although the BusinessObject's
state changed to 8 (BusinessObject.STATUS_GLOBAL) on the first change,
the state went back to 16 on re-modification.
More importantly the data had not been synchronized when the client was
synchronized again.
Has anyone done this before and am I on the right way? Why does not it work?

your first code doesn't have any problem at all. im just
wondering the line with //????// comment. do you assume
that the first iterator object is a resolved conflict?
after resolving the conflict, the SyncBoResponse instance
having a RESOLVED will stay in your local repository. you
have to call delete() method.
by the way, at which timing does your application resolve
the conflicts?

the same thing goes to your 2nd code. you have to call the
delete() method of the SyncBoResponse once they are processed.
what really happens when you invoke the acceptClientSyncBo
method is that
1)the quarantined client SyncBo is copied to tempObject
2)the server data is applied; making the client SyncBo a
global image - state GLOBAL/SYNCHED
3)the client modification is applied using the tempObject
-> client syncBo state is now INCONSISTENT; there's a delta
data to be uploaded.
4)SyncBoResponse is transitional to RESOLVED
on your next sync, this delta data will be sent to the server
just like a normal delta upload. until your success response
for that delta upload message is received in the client,
your SyncBo will be in its INSYNC state.
hope this clear up some of your doubts.

The Group Policy Client Side Extension Group Policy Shortcuts may have caused th e Group Policy Service to terminate unexpectedly.

Hi all,
Having an issue with the shortcuts Group Policy extension applying to our Windows 7 machines. It was working until last Wednesday and since then users get a Group Policy Client service error when logging in.
We have narrowed it down to the shortcuts extension, if the extension is disabled then a user can log in, if enabled and empty then the following error comes up. With all the investigation we have done so far it seems as though something on the client is
making this happen.
We have –
Copied the original policy
Exported and imported the policy
Deleted all the shortcuts
Deleted all the shortcuts and created a brand new shortcut
And the same thing happens. Only if you right click on the Shortcut Extension and select disable then the user can log in
When running Gpupdate /force we get the following error

How is the issue going? Does this issue happen to all Windows 7 clients? I am not sure this can be helpful but we can give it a try to install the following hotfix.
Some Group Policy preferences are not applied successfully on computers that are running Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

Struts 2 Client side validation getting skipped.

I am doing a simple program using struts 2. Usually in struts2 bean class will be combined with action class unlike in struts 1.2. But for enhancing readability I made a seperate bean class and I reference it in my action class. But after seperating bean from action class Client side validation using xml is not happening. It is getting skipped. But server side validation inside execute() is happening. Will anyone please help me to find a solution to make client side validation run.

I was trying to do it through creating a new validators.xml where I would redefine all struts built in validations and add de definition for my custom Validation (<validator name="checkUser" class="com.custom.CustomUserValidator"/>). Then I define the ActionClassName-action-validation.xml refering to my custom validator (checkUser). The com.custom.CustomUserValidator Class has to extend FieldValidatorSupport or ValidatorSupoort (depending on what kind of validation).
Ok that's it, this is the theory, now the custom validator (checkUser) is executed before my action but I don't know how to do it so that if the validation fails i return to the same page showing the error message to the user without having to execute the target action. Does anyone know how to do this????
