Urgent: unable to call a plsql stored procedure with a struts data action

Hello ALL,
I'm trying to call a plsql stored procedure within a struts DataAction,
The scenario is:
When a user a click on a button, then it should call a specific stored procedure,,
I create struts data action a class to handle the event which is to call the procedure
Here is my code:
public class RequestAction extends DataForwardAction
public void onCall(DataActionContext ctx)
String amDef = "model.AppModule";
String config = "AppModuleLocal";
ApplicationModule am =
Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(amDef, config);
try{
AppModuleImpl myAm = (AppModuleImpl)am;
DBTransaction tr = (DBTransaction) myAm.getTransaction();
CallableStatement stmt = tr.createCallableStatement
("begin pkg_test.test; end;", DBTransaction.DEFAULT);
stmt.execute();
stmt.close();
tr.commit();
catch(Exception e){System.out.println(e.getMessage());}
Configuration.releaseRootApplicationModule(am,true);
but when I ran the application and click on the button, I got the following Exception:
04/07/08 00:45:50 ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
PLS-00201: identifier 'PKG_TEST.TEST' must be declared
ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
PL/SQL: Statement ignored
It seems that the DBTransaction object unable to see the stored procedure,
Am I do something wrong or miss something???
I've checked the examples on the OTN HOW TO, and searched in the JDeveloper Forum but unable to find an answer,
Please anyone can help???
Thanks a lot
With Regards,
Hayat

Here's an example application that illustrates how to do this. I haven't had a chance to writeup a little paper to go with it yet, but will as soon as I have a chance.
http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/tips/muench/storedproc/CallStoredProc.zip
See the "callStoredProcedure" method in the application module in the Model project.
See the "callStoredProcedure" method binding in the binding container of the "CallStoredProcedure" data page.
Notice the name "event_callStoredProcedure" of the (Call Stored Procedure) button on the CallStoredProcedure.jsp page which triggers the declaratively invocation of the method.
You could also call the method from code in a custom data action.
The code example illustrates how to create your own JDBC prepared statement for invoking the stored procedure, and doing it in a way that is efficient by keeping the prepared statement around across invocations.

    does anybody know, how to call stored procedure with more than one argument?
    How to do this with one argument is known -

  • JDBC receiver adapter to call MS SQLServer stored procedure with parameters

    We are trying to use the JDBC receiver adapter to call a stored procedure in MS SQLServer with parameters.  According to the help documentation for the JDBC receiver adapter for action=EXECUTE,  "The elements within the stored procedure are interpreted as parameters" and "The parameter names must be identical to those of the stored procedure definition".  The parameters within a MS SQLServer stored procedure are required to begin with the '@' symbol.  The element names within a XML document i.e. used to call the stored procedure can not contain a special character such as '@' in the first position.  For all of the tests we have done where the parameter name in the XML document omits the '@' character, the parameters are not being received by the stored procedure.  Is there a way around this  problem?
    Thank you,
    Harold

    Hello Harold - I am facing the EXACTLY SAME problem.Pls let me know how did you fix this problem ?
    This is the message I am passing on to the DB SP:

    </JournalData>
       </StatementName>
    </MRIRequestInbound>
    Out of which,
    <NewDataSet> tag contains the value of the parameter in the SP. So, my value to the SP's parameter is :

    Any clue ?

    Error:"wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'CM_TEST_PROD' "
    or
    Error: "not all variables bound"
    If I use without output parameter, in Command mode, It works fine.
    call cm_test_prod([Param.1],[Param.2])
    or
    call cm_test_prod('[Param.1]','[Param.2]')
    works without error.

    Hi,
    @Marcelo,
    I  used your package just by replacing 'varchar2' instead of 'varchar(100)''. I got the error message 'ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement'. I didn't understand how we handle output parameter with this:
    Query = Call MYPKG.MyProcedure(1,'Test FixedQueryWithOutput',?)
    What is Query in here? If we have two output parameters, how would we get the outputs?
    My procedure is:
    CREATE OR REPLACE
    PROCEDURE XXXXX.CM_TEST_PROD_OUTPUT(v1 in number,v2  in number, v3 out number) IS
    BEGIN
      update test_table set no2 = (v1+v2);
      commit;
      v3 := v1+v2;
    END;
    declare
    a number;
    BEGIN
      cm_test_prod_output(1,6,a);
    END;
    if I use this
    call cm_test_prod_output([Param.1],[Param.2],?)
    with FixedQueryWithOutput mode,
    I get the following error:
    ORA-06553: PLS-306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'CM_TEST_PROD_OUTPUT'
    @Mike,
    I already tried both with quotes and without quotes, also I tried both with number output and with string output.
    As I mentioned before, if I use number inputs without output in Command mode,
    call cm_test_prod(http://Param.1,http://Param.2)
    or
    call cm_test_prod('http://Param.1','http://Param.2')
    works succesfully.

  • Stored Procedure with Table as data type , DBAdapter  configuration

    i have a stored procedure .
    XXyyyy_QP_PKG.XXyyyy_QP_PRICE_BOOK_PUB(l_xxyyy_prc_dtl_tbl,l_xxyyy_prc_brk_tbl,l_status,'New',5840,'New');
    where l_xxyyy_prc_dtl_tbl ,l_xxyyy_prc_brk_tbl are the tables as output parameter.
    Steps Performed for above scenario :
    i have created database adapter using stored procedure configuration, that created a Wrapper procedure during the configuration in Oracle DB.
    and thus i can find bpel_*******Create.sql and bpel_*******DROP.sql files got created .
    When i actually gone on package which crted by dbadapter , that are errored out , then i have manually droped and ran the create script .
    create script will results in some compilation erors of procedure .
    How can i fix this problem ? If i have same scenario which is for ORacle API using Oracle Apps adapter that creates correct wrapper procedure .
    how all these can be achieved .
    Not sure whther this DBAdapter really works in these scenarios or not .

  • How to call PLSQL Stored procedure in ADF?

    Hi!
    I am using adf for our development. We have existing stored packages and I want to use them. The problem is how can I call those PLSQL stored procedure in ADF.
    Thanks in advance
    alvin.

    Hi,
    a stored procedure is called by the business service. If e.g. your business service is ADF Business Components then you call a stored procedure from the Application Module's transaction. Call a PLSQL procedure using a prepared statement. Similar you call stored procedures from EJB or TopLink business services
    For ADF Business Components see

  • Calling Oracle Stored procedure with OUT parameter from ODI

    Hi,
    I called an oracle stored procedure with following anonymous block in the ODI procedure.
    Declare
    Status varchar2(10);
    Begin
    OTM.DeleteTarget('E_KPI_TARGET_VALUE', Status);
    End;
    I want to capture the OUT parameter STATUS value in a project level variable.
    And based on its va;lue I would like to choose between 2 interfaces in my package.
    Please help me in doing this.

    Hi,
    For that kind of situation I commoly use:
    1) one step with:
    create or replace package <%=odiRef.getSchemaName("W")%>.pck_var
    Status varchar2(10);
    end;
    * transaction 9, for instance
    2) step
    Begin
    OTM.DeleteTarget('E_KPI_TARGET_VALUE', <%=odiRef.getSchemaName("W")%>.pck_var.Status);
    End;
    * transaction 9
    3) then, at an ODI variable, use a refresh like:
    select <%=odiRef.getSchemaName("W")%>.pck_var.Status from dual
    at same logical shema where the package was created.
    Does it make sense to you?

    Could you pls show me where I'm wrong in the following codeI don't know, you're doing a lot of things I have never tried. But "decimal data error" most likely means that the stored procedure is expecting packed data and the driver is giving it zoned data, or vice versa. You could confirm that by dumping your variables inside your RPG. If that is your problem, you could work around it by redefining your BDAMT parameter as integer or string and reformatting it in the RPG.

  • How to generate XML Publisher report from PLSQL Stored Procedure in APPS

    Hi,
    I have concurrent program of type PLSQL Stored procedure.I need to generate XML Publisher report from the same.I have changed the output of the concurrent program as "XML" but when I tried running it,the XML tags are not generated.Due to this I am unable to create the template.Its a urgent issue.
    Please help me out .
    Thanks in advance.
    Kaveri

    Hi Kaveri
    Sadly there is nothing magic about that output field. The only program type that you can flip it to XML and then magically get XML is for Oracle Reports. For plsql you will need to recode the plsql to generate XML rather than text that you have now.
    You have some options, best option first:
    1. Move the sql to a data template - check the user guide and blog for help or
    2. Use SQL XML or XMLGEN (not great for large datasets) or
    3. Use dbms_output.put_line and write the XML file manually - not performant at all

    On top of what jschell says, this just looks wrong in terms of how Oracle's internal Java works as well.
    [Have a look here |http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/codesnippet/jdbc/refcur/index.html] (unless things have changed significantly over the past few years for Oracle Java).
    Is the db you are querying a different one to the one this Java is stored in?

  • Call stored procedure with OUT parameter

    Hello,
    I have created a short-lived process. Within this process I am using the "FOUNDATION > JDBC > Call Stored Procedure" operation to call an Oracle procedure. This procedure has 3 parameters, 2 IN and 1 OUT parameter.
    The procedure is being executed correctly. Both IN parameters receive the correct values but I am unable to get the OUT parameter's value in my process.
    Rewriting the procedure as a function gives me an ORA-01460 since one of the parameters contains XML (>32K) so this is not option...
    Has someone been able to call a stored procedure with an OUT parameter?
    Regards,
    Nico

    Object is Foundation, Execute Script
    This is for a query, you can change to a stored procedure call. Pull the value back in the Java code then put into the process variable.
