URL history from browser

I would like to set up a web page that displays a list of URL links- a bookmarks or favorites page that you can access anywhere. When you're on a web page that you want to bookmark, I would like to go directly to my bookmark page by clicking on it from IE Favorites or Mozilla Bookmarks, etc. Is there any way to get the previous URL info from the browser and pass it to this page so that it can create a hyperlink for the previous page? It's not a referer since there is no redirection. For now, I guess you have to cut and paste the URL yourself into a text form and then create the link that way, but it would be nice to generate the link automatically.

I would hope JavaScript doesn't allow access to the
contents of the page history (except for
history.next() etc, which go there without allowing
the script to see where "there" is). Otherwise it
would be possible to transfer the history to a web
server without your knowledge. You want everyone to
know that you frequent www.gerbilinsertion.com? Kind
of a major breach of privacy.But off course you are correct. I was thinking of the history.whateveres, and my lack of javascript knowledge showed. :-) It is a good think I don't troll around the javascript forums hehe.

Acquiring case sensitive URL info from browser

In a Java filter am trying to acquire the case sensitive URL (hostname) from the app I'm filtering.
Normally, to get the whole URL, one would do something like:
String myurl = request.getServerName() + request.getRequestURI();getServerName returns an all lowercase server name from what I'm seeing...
Is it possible to get the case sensitive server name from the requested url....
For example:
http://mysErVer.cOm/myApp/
request.getServerName returns "*myserver.com*" whereas I want "*mysErVer.cOm*"
Any ideas? Am I missing anything obvious?

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that when the request is sent by the browser, it's converted to lowercase, so if you want to know what the user typed into the address bar, you won't get it. Urls are defined as lowercase anyway, so what difference does it make how it's entered?

For your issue, you need to deploy a farm solution using HideCustomAction to hide site settings link. For example to hide “Title, description, and logo” link you can use below code:

How do I prevent privacy browsing and/ or prevent history from being deleted from son's computer?

Note that removing or disabling "Private Browsing" will not make it impossible to delete private data like visited websites (history) or cache.
There are a lot of ways to clear such data, either via [[Clear Recent History]] or directly by deleting the History in the Library or sidebar.
Private Browsing makes it easier because all data is kept in memory and nothing is saved to disk, so nothing needs to be removed.
If you want to see which sites have been visited then you should look at others means outside Firefox like a router or firewall with a password protected logging feature that can't be bypassed or a program like [http://www.wireshark.org/download.html Wireshark].

I have solved the problem. I accidentally have set it to private browsing.

CAD grab part of URL from browser.

Call comes in and generates a pop in the build in browser and it turns out that it's the wrong case, so the agent browses to the correct case. How can I update the call data with the correct case number.
I'm hoping to be able to grab the new case number from the URL or from the webpage, but running into issues using the default CAD actions, anyone?

Migrating browsing history from Windows 7 to Mac.

I created a Firefox Profile and synced from Windows 7 to Mac.
Only a small amount of my browsing history was migrated (from 9 July 2013 onwards).
There are approximately 47 500 entries going back to September 2010.
I downloaded the History Export add-on and tried exporting my browsing history in the .html format. Firefox kept crashing and I could not complete this.
Is there any way to migrate my entire browsing history to my Profile and my Mac?

It is unlikely that the browsing history from a year ago is still available. In Firefox 3.5 the default setting is to keep history for at least 90 days but maximum of 180 days. Unless you changed the defaults the browsing history for 1 year ago will not be available.

Restoring from one of your old iTunes backups will indeed place text messages back on your iPhone 5. Open URL in a browser with POST request from FlashPlayer?

I have a SWF file that plays locally in Standalone Flash Player 11.2 under Win 8.1.
I'm using the standard navigateToUrl() function to open a URL in a browser, so it's not published for AIR, I make sure that request data is not empty - it contains my URLvars, the function is user initiated on click, and the request method is POST.
Still the browser sends a GET request.
Am I missing something? Is it possible to fix, so it sends POST?

I have two accounts under Windows 7, how do I keep my Firefox history from crossing over?

On one account, I choose the option of never saving browser history. On the other, to always save. When I go under the one that saves history, my browsing history of the other separate account shows up. I don't want that. Is there a way I can adjust the settings to make sure these two firefoxes stay independant of each other?

I am trying to stream a live video from Adobe Media Server. I am sending a video to the server from Adobe Flash Media Encoder 3.2. On Adobe Media Server I open the sample video player (videoplayer.html) in a browser. In the STREAM URL field I put: http://localhost/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/ liveevent.f4m. When I click the PLAY STREAM button I get the error message: URL missing from Media tag. What do I need to do?

What is the stream name that you are publishing from FMLE? If it's "livestream?adbe-live-event=liveevent" then the url should be http://localhost/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream.f4m .
