URL Link works 1st time only

I created a report that displays a document name with a URL link to the document. 1st time to access it, works fine in both IE and Firefox, but the second time accessed, it hangs.
The only "unique" thing I am doing is wrapping the anchor in a paragraph tag with a title for the paragraph so that it displays a short description on mouse over. Seems like when I wasn't using the paragraph it worked every time.
I am using the following query for the report:
select '<p title="' || short_description || '">' ||
*'<a href="' || content_url || '" target="_blank">' ||*
content_title || '</a&rt;</p&rt;' content
from program_content
an example generated is:
<p title="One page list 5 reasons to standardize / purchase CRM OD for internal use.">Top 5 Reasons to Standardize on CRM OD</p>
Any ideas on why this doesn't work on a second access?
Thanks,
Stephen

Hello
I think the usage of paragraph should be eliminated.
You need to use title in A tag

  • New iSight - Why did iChat AV Work 1st Time but Not Since?

I recently bought an iSight to use with my sister in Minnesota (I'm in Canada, eh). It worked perfectly - the first time I used it after installation. I haven't been able to create a connection with my sister since.
Between the first connection and my second connection attempt, my sister installed a Linksys router and turned on her Mac firewall. She is still able to use iChat for video chats with other people without a problem. Nothing has changed at my end (I have a Linksys router, too, and my Mac firewall has always been on). Sadly, I don't have anyone else with whom to test my connection, but as I said, nothing has changed on my system.
The error message accuses the invited party of failing to respond. This is simply not true. The invited party always "Accepts". (We've alternated initiator and responder roles.)
I've reviewed several support documents including the one about using iChat with an NAT router, although I don't think this is the problem. I opened the ports in my router and after this I was still unable to connect, but for a different reason - "insufficient bandwidth". Restoring my router to the previous configuration (i.e., no special adjustments to ports) restored the original error message ("failed to respond").
I checked my Quicktime and various system preferences and they were correct. This isn't a surprise since iChat did work with my system the one time.
I'm reluctant to keep fiddling with various settings when my original setup actually worked - once.
Thank you for pondering my problem!
    James

    Hi.
I apologize for not noting the model of router. I'm using a Linksys WRT54G wireless, but my eMac is hooked up with a wire (the wireless is for another Mac). I'm not sure what my sister is using but I will find out.
I agree that it looks like all this is her fault, what with the router and the firewall and the what-not, but I'm mystified by the fact that it worked the first time.
I've printed off some of the other threads and I will try a few other things.
    Thanks you very much!

  • URGENT Help - navigation not working 1st time thru on deployed apps.

Using update 6, and exporting a WAR file that, by hook&crook, I can actually get to deploy on Sun Application Server Platform Edition 8.1(the 2005Q1 version) on a Linux box... the app is running under an SSL-enabled http-listener on the app server.
the app works fine on the dev machine.
on the Production machine above, the user is faced with a form and an action link... almost everytime when the user clicks the link the browser goes off into the weeds, saying "Waiting for mysite.com..." and the little animation for page loading is going....
and NOTHING happens, the app never sees the click, as in any log statements in the code don't get logged (even in the linkAction_action routine), the server is quiet, and nothing happens no matter how long you wait. It doesn't even run validation - it just hangs the browser....
if you click the stop button and do it AGAIN, it's immediate!! you get the next page in the process. (and no, I can't tell my users to keep trying...)
HELP? is this an app error or a SunAppServer issue??
    This is really UGLY.
    -Kristofer

yes to all of the above. but when I moved the exact same app (*exact* same war file) to Tomcat 5.5.7, under a valid SSL cert (the same 'keystore' used above) the problem vanished.
    I have to "ship".
SunAppServer 8.1 ain't ready for me. Sorry.
    cheers,
    Kristofer

  • Play motion menu 1st time only.

Here's another Encore question for everyone,
I have a short video playing when my menu comes up (I've done this, of course, through the motion tab). I'm using CS5
My question is this: is there a way that this video will play when the disc is first loaded, but when the user presses the "menu" button, the video is skipped and lands straight on the menu?
I believe I've seen this on pro DVDs before.
    Thanks everyone!
    Steve

I think to do this you want to have a timeline (not a menu) for the intro motion. Then when menu is pressed, it will go to your menu. If you are really wanting it to keep going until menu is pressed, just loop it to itself.

  • RSDRD_DELETE_FACTS will only work the 1st time it runs in the chain

I've created a deletion program via RSDRD_DELETE_FACTS the way it states so it can be ran from a process chain.  It seems to work fine the 1st time the chain runs and then after that it doens't work.  I did a debug of it my slection criteria for my deletion are not saving even though I do the F8 2 times like it says.
    any ideas?

I was able to fix our issue of it not deleting after the 1st run.
You can create the delte program using RSDRD_DELETE_FACTS.  when you hit execute you will need to put in the data target and then select Generate deletion program and give it a name.
then you will need to go into the code it generated and comment out the line below.  If this is not commeted out it deletes this from the table everytime and it doens't save your deletion parameters.
DELETE FROM DATABASE RSDRBATCHPARA(DE) ID L_UID.
    Hope this helps

  • Firefox will only open websites via url link, does not even attempt to connect through the address bar.

I can only open Firefox websites by using a url link. If I try to type something in the address bar it will not even attempt to load the page, no loading circle, no error or no connection message. I'm at youtube.com and I type in google.com and slap ENTER. Nothing happens. Nothing. I slap the ENTER key a couple more times to similar effect. I can open blank new tabs, but can't get the address bar to work. I can right click videos and have them open correctly in new tabs or windows, but the address bar refuses to do anything.
Internet Explorer works perfectly fine though. Despite the ads.
I've updated reinstalled, disabled my firewall, restarted firefox, restarted my computer, hasn't accomplished diddly jack squat. If anyone has any idea what's going on here I would highly appreciate your help.

    Hello,
Try clicking on Tool --> Options --> Advanced --> General tab. Uncheck "Use Hardware Acceleration... ". Do you have any add-on like avg safe search installed?
    Hope that helps.

  • URL Links not working in ADE

I have created URL links in a PDF ebook using acrobat.  The links  work just fine in Acrobat.  When I try to click on the link in ADE 2.0 some of the links aren't recognized, meaning they're not clickable.  Is there a certain setting that should be used in acrobat to ensure that links are clickable in ADE?.  It's important that they work in ADE because once DRM is added to the file, it will only be readable in ADE.
Thanks in advance for any help

Clear Safari, close Safari and reset the iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data.
In order to close apps in iOS 7, drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Multiple url links not working in flash catalyst

    Hi,
I hope there is a simple solution that I have mistakenly overlooked - I have a flash catalyst file for my homepage with about 6 different url link buttons (full size images) each of which fade in one at a time, and take up the whole flash screen while visible. When one particular image (converted to button) is visible, I want people to click and go to the relevant link for that picture. However, no matter when I click on any image, the only link that works is the top button (even though it's hidden.)
I am still new to Catalyst and your help is so greatly appreciated!

I suspect it might be in how you might have made your button. Can you post your project? I can take a quick look.

  • One work process can only process one user request at a time?

    Hi,
How to configure the how many work processes for 80 concurrent users login daily. One work process can only process one user request at a time? Does this mean a login user has a dedicated work process servicing him. Or many login users interleave a work process's service? ,clarify the same.
    Thanku

There are different types of work processes and the number needed depends on the number of transactions that will take place in the system. We are running 80 concurrent users with 15 dialog work processes. Please see the link below for an explanation:

  • PDF Bookmark works on 1st click only :(

    Hi all:
I've gotten links to PDFs in my RoboHelp project to work, but have one problem that I cannot seem to solve.  This issue happens with IE and Chrome (have not tried Safari) but not with FireFox.  The first time I click a PDF link from my WebHelp project (yes, it's posted on a server), the help link works fine. The PDF opens to the named destination.  Subsequent links to different destinations in the same PDF, however, update the browser with the proper URL but the PDF does not change to the new location.
    eg:
    Link1:
    http://10.20.160.7:8080/help/test/cdm_agent_guide.pdf#cdmasi
Displays the PDF opened to the page tagged with cdmasi
    then click this:
    http://10.20.160.7:8080/help/test/cdm_agent_guide.pdf#cdmacdm
Page seems to be loading but...
URL status bar shows the above URL, but the PDF has remained on the ASI topic (Chrome) or a blank page displays.
Click the URL bar and refresh to load the link
The PDF moves to the correct topic.
    Note:
This behavior is the same whether i use foo.pdf#nameddest=string  or foo.pdf#string
Again, if I use FireFox, the pages load great. In IE/Chrome, not.
    Deets:
    IE 11.0.9600.16428
    Chrome 33.0.1750.146
    Firefox 27.01
    Windows 7
    RoboHelp 10
    Acrobat Pro X
    Acrobat Read 10.1.9
I am pretty sure this is not a security thing or the first instance would fail. Also, it's not a Mark of the Web thing; we dont have that enabled for the project.
Am I missing something obvious about forcing a refetch of the PDF?
    D

I wonder if there is anything in the Acrobat forum that would help? Maybe others have experienced with links from websites rather than webhelp.

  • Url links in swf work in standalone, but not when opened in browser

I am currently using flash to create an electronic press kit.
In that, i have 2 links to youtube (since embedding the videos was
not an option, making the file too large), and one link to
yousendit for the viewer to be able to download a pdf file.
Now when i open the swf by double clicking on it (which i can
do, but when on another computer, that has flash player installed,
the swf will not open unless opened through a browser....not sure
if that is just something where you can open an swf strictly by
itself only if you actually have flash or what....that is another
issue), but anyways, when i open the swf by itself, the links work
correctly. once opened through a browser, the links do not work.
    Safari error:
Adobe flash player has stopped a potentially unsafe
    operation.
The following local application of your computer or network:
    (location of swf on harddisk)
is trying to communicate with this internet-enabled location:
    youtube.com
To let this application communicate with the internet, click
    SETTINGS.
You must restart this application after changing your
    settings.
Of course i did that, and it didnt happen.
My question is however, even if this is a simple security
issue/setting within the browser, is there any way to get around
this? Because when sending this press kit out, the last thing i
want is for the viewer to have to take the time to change their
browser settings and try to get this to work and all that stuff.
    Any help would be appreciated.
You can also download this swf at the following link:
    http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.ph...661F585ACE0521

The reason the swf doesn't open up by itself on other
computers is that it needs a Stand Alone Flash Player to do so.
Most people have the Flash plug-in for their browsers, but not the
stand alone player. If you are sending it out as a self contained
file you need to make a Projector file. It contains the SA + swf in
one file, which adds weight. Also, you need to make a Windows one
and and a Mac one. If you are using CS3, I think you can make a
Abobe AIR app that is universal, granted you install the free AIR
plug-in controlls for Flash ( I THINK. My knowlege is not totally
    up to date) .
As for the links not working in the browser, its seems like
they should work. Your posted link for the file is broken, so
couldn't see. What is your code for the buttons? Are you calling
JavaScript in your html page? I've had problem with that usually a
    syntax error or IE.

Might be worth checking on the Acrobat forum.
Also probably worth seeing if they work on v1.7.2 (*2), on Sony Reader(*1), and on ereader devices and tablet ereader apps such as Bluefire.
It could easily be a bug in ADE2.0, there are very many of them.
Lots of people including me still use 1.7.2 for that reason; but you may not have the choice of what to expect your readers to have.
    ~~~~
    (*1) you can use Sony Reader; free download from Sony intended to run with Sony eReaders but works quite happily without.  I prefer ADE1.7.2 to Sony Reader. https://ebookstore.sony.com/download/
    ~~~~~~~~~
(*2) There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1).  Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-editions/kb/cant-install-digital-editions.html
The forum software is sometimes corrupting the link above.  There shouldn't be a blank in 'editio ns.html'.  The following redirects to the same page: http://tinyurl.com/diged172
Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.
It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.
Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library.

  • Url link with target="_blank" hangs in Internet Explorer 7 BUT works fine in IE6, FF, Safari?

Okay, so I have a SWF embedded on a page, which has a link to a target="_blank" url, and it works in every other browser, INCLUDING the notorious ie6, but NOT in IE7?
IE7 just opens a blank page (without the address in the address field) and displays 'connecting...' and stays there forever.
    • I even manually typed in the adress of the site I'm trying to access with the link, and the page opened just fine in IE7.
But when I click on the link from the SWF, it hangs again and doesn't open. I manually typed in both addresses with and without the 'www' (i.e. http://somewebsite.com and http://www.somewebsite.com) and both opened in IE7.
But the link from the SWF ONLY opens a blank page with the 'connecting...' and stays there forever.
    • I feel like it was working previously, but I could be wrong. Besides that, it is working in ie6, of all things. So I don't get it?
    • This also happens with other website that have a link with target="_blank" in IE7, so it's not only my site.
As always any leads are greatly appreciated.
Site with the SWF with the link with target="_blank":
http://solarinkgraphics.com/web.htm          • clicking on the IMAGE or the "ENLARGE" link should take you to a target="blank" url
    Site it should go to:
    http://thehoneymoonphase.com

First off that first link to the graphics site does not work.  Getting a page not found error.  Although I was able to do a quick lucky guess and added an "l" to the end of the address and it worked.
Second, because the link is embedded within a Flash document, your problem will lie within the ActionScript code as opposed to the HTML.  Thus you would be better off posting this in the Flash forum with your ActionScript code to get better troubleshooting responses.

  • UploadedFile & https Only work first time upload ????

I am using 10.1.3.4 Jdev. I use UploadedFile interface to upload files from local PC and ftp files to unix server. My "upload" web page works between my local PC and Unix server, but it only works first time upload file and ftp between
https server (application server--weblogic 10.0) and Unix server. If I just use http without SSL and my codes work fine you can upload file as many times you want and ftp them to Unix server. I used FTP not sftp to transfer files from application server to unix server. Can anyone shed some lights on my head ???? Thx.

Yes. I changed my code to SFT from ftp. it works. Thx. This URL for sftp: http://www.jcraft.com/jsch/ and is very good .
