URL truncation error

Dear All,
We have completed the technical upgrade for our BW systems. We are now doing the functional upgrade.
We are now migrating our report Object to the new JAVA Runtime. We are using the old 3.5 Role menu item and have enhanced this with note 1075789 in order to display the 7.0 objects in the role menu.
We are now facing an issue when we call up a query in the JAVA runtime out of the Role menu. The first time we call up the query it is starting a kind of endless loop where the system keeps on changing the URL in the status bar of the browser. If we abort this by pressing F5 (refresh) in the browser and restart the same menu entry again the query gets started properly in the JAVA runtime.
We analyzed the problem and found the following issue in class CL_RSR_WWW_ITEM_MENU   and method ADD_MENU_ITEM. During the first call of the role menu template the URL of our query gets truncated within this method. During the refreh call it is build up correctly.
Has anyone faced this issue. Any pointer to solve the issue will be appreciated.
Regards,
Niraj

No. That passes a parameter named
action. You need to give the parameter the correct name:
cpass.cfm?username=hellobuddy

  • URL truncated in navigation for the entire list

    After upgrading SharePoint from 2010 to 2013 all sites that contained a link in the left nav had the URL truncated, ie /PWA/SiteName/Lists/ListName/Item/displayifs.aspx?List=7dc68b64%2Da8fa%2D4d84%2D9610%2D67ba46ec9395&ID=198&Source=http%3A%2F%2FServerName%2FPWA%2FSiteName%2FLists%2FListName%2520Database%2FSummary%2Easpx&ContentTypeId=0x0100ECE434058AE6EF429B5E10D89A723A4F
    got truncated to /PWA/SiteName/Lists/ListName/Item/displayifs.aspx.  We have few hundred sites like this (ie built from the same template) so manual updates are not feasible.
    1. Why did this happen?
    2. How can we get this fixed through automated means?  We have 2010 DB content available for restore, I think this is the only option to restore the p[articular table.

    Alex,
    I was able to fix this with PowerShell using reverse mapping you describe, it was a bit of work, but once I got it working for one I batched others using Excel/Word mail merge.  This appears to be a bug introduced somewhere between RTM and SP1.
    This is a synopsis of how we got this working:
    1.Export list with item and URL to Excel
    2.Extract URLs from list using macro <=GetURL(A1)>
    3.Discard anything past /default.aspx in URL list
    4.Mail Merge PowerShell cmdlets with URLs
    5.Execute the cmdlets (batch of 1000 lines)
    Excel Macro
    1.Get into VBA (Press Alt+F11)
    2.Insert a new module (Insert > Module)
    3.Copy and Paste the Excel user defined function below
    4.Press F5 and click “Run”
    5.Get out of VBA (Press Alt+Q)
    Function GetURL(rng As Range) As String
        On Error Resume Next
        GetURL = rng.Hyperlinks(1).Address
    End Function
    PowerShell cmdlets
    $w = get-spweb "http://sharepoint/site1"
    $l =$w.lists["ListName"]
    $d = $l.items | where {$_['Title'] -eq “«Item_Number»”}
    $did=$d.id
    $w2 = get-spweb "«URL»"
    $a = $w2.Navigation.GlobalNodes
    $o = $a.Navigation.QuickLaunch
    $oid = $o | Where-Object {$_.title -eq "Item Name"}
    $u =$w2.Navigation.GetNodeById($oid.id)
    $u.Url = "/site1/Lists/ListName/DispForm.aspx?ID=$did"
    $u.update()

  • For Each Loop: Truncation error on excel field

    In my SSIS package, I'm using a WMI file watcher combined with a ForEach loop to process excel files and load them into a SQL Server database as they are deposited in a drop box folder. Recently I've been getting truncation errors on one of my fields (Comments).
    I know that this is because Excel is scanning the first 8 rows to determine column length and there are several records that have a comments field that is greater than what excel determined.
    I've tried going to the excel editor in my advanced editor and setting the data type length of my external and output columns to a larger length (500 W_STR vs 255 W_STR) but I get a warning saying that the data type is not valid. I've tried adding IMEX=1
    to my extended properties in my excel connection string but no dice. Still getting truncation errors.
    I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or suggestions? I'm always getting new files so the comments field will potentially always encounter this type of error. This SSIS package runs on a production server so making a Registry change to the excel drivers
    regarding the scanning of the first 8 rows is not an option for me.
    Migince

    I wound up making the registry change for # of rows scanned by excel and that seemed to solve the issue.
    I tried utilizing an excel template but every time my for each loop scanned for a new file, the metadata was updated with whatever column length was in the first 8 records of my new file. If you've got a good example of building an excel template to set
    the column length metadata in my excel source (For Each Loop) I would love to take a look at it. Good information to know.

  • Why is exception not thrown in AseCommand when "Truncation error occurred"?

    In the below SQL, data is written to SOURCE and from there to TARGET.
    The DECIMAL columns in TARGET are deliberately smaller than those in SOURCE (eg a DECIMAL (12, 2) column populated from a DECIMAL (19,11) source).
    When I run this in an Query tool (eg, SqlDbx) I get the messages:
    "Truncation error occurred
    Command has been aborted"
    But when I run this using the .net Client (supplied with the Developer Edition of ASE 16.0) no exception is thrown (the INSERT fails though).  The method is AseCommand.ExecuteNonQuery().
    Is this deliberate?
    Is this believed to be correct?
    How can I tell that a truncation error has been raised?
    Thanks

    Hi Dave,
    I am consulting internally on this. To my understanding, this behavior is based on the ASE severity level, as returned in the TDS_EED token. AseExceptions are thrown when severity level is 11 or higher.
    Our docs are not explanatory in this regard.  Once I get clarification we will provide something in the form of wiki or KBA or doc bug to further explain the detail.  Apologize for the delay and problems this caused. I guess since the command is aborted by ASE, therefore no insertion occurs, even though ASE indicates truncation occurs prior - makes this confusing.
    The message severity, etc is controlled by ASE and the client is just following suit according to the TDS spec. Its just lacking in the client docs. This can be remedied.
    ASE does provide the option to allow truncation and not abort.  It's a set command:
    Enter a query:
    1 > set arithabort numeric_truncation off
    Enter a query:
    1 > INSERT dbo.TARGET (S_Name_NVARCHAR,S_RedComponent_DEC_15_6,S_BlueComponent_DEC_12_2,S_GreenComponent_DEC_18_10) SELECT LEFT( S.Name_NVARCHAR,8000),S.GreenComponent_DEC,S.GreenComponent_DEC,S.GreenComponent_DEC FROM (SELECT * FROM SOURCE
    ) S
    4 rows Affected.
    Notice though ASE does NOT send truncation message. This is when it is well known and accepted to insert and truncate the numeric data.
    Cheers,
    -Paul

    I don't how to put this value in table. I use code page 65001(UTF-8) and 1252, but it is not working, and giving error like
    [OLE DB Source [16]] Error: Column "DESCRIPTION" cannot convert between unicode and non-unicode string data types.
    Data Type of 'DESCRIPTION' source(External) column is varchar(240) and same- varchar(240) I used for output column and in my table's data type. I also tried with varchar(1000) for output column in OLE DB Source but same truncation error.
    I also tried to convert DESCRIPTION into navachar using below cast function but got error.
    SELECT   -- TO_NVARCHAR(DESCRIPTION) AS DESCRIPTION,
    --CAST(DESCRIPTION AS NVARCHAR(240)) DESCRIPTION,
    Please let me know how to load this value in table. Thank you in advance.

    Thanks ArthurZ for reply.
    But for testing I am just using OLEDB source and OLE DB destination only in my ssis package.
    For Column "DESCRIPTION", data type is VARCHAR(240)
    in external column, output column and target table column.
    And I tried to cast source column into nvarchar and also set target column to nvarchar to handle this kind of special characters but package is failing,
    I also tried TO_NCHAR(DESCRIPTION)
    in my source query to convert it to nvarchar but error is something like character mismatch.

    The reason is in the first line of the error.  It doesn't have anything to do with the size of your XML file - it has to do with the contents of the "MsgLev1" column.  You (or the XSD) has indicated that the values in this column not exceed a certain size - but one of the values in the file that's failing is larger than that.
    In order to fix the problem, you're going to need to increase the allocated space for that column.  In order to do that, you're going to need to find out what the required size of that data is - either from someone who ought to know, or by direct examination of the file.  If you want to know which entity has this overly large data element in it, you need to configure the error handling of the XML Source to "redirect truncation errors".  Then you can hook up the XML Source's error output to another destination where you can see which rows are problematic.

  • [Windows] file.url throw error when application executable in root directory

    Here is the bugbase ticked: Bug#3940278 - [Windows] file.url throw error when application executable in root directory
    If you launch AIR application packaged as bundle from root directory and try to get url property of any file you get IllegalOperationError.
    No matter what file url property you try to get.
    It's a big problem when you distribute your application on CD disks or flash drive.
    I'd like to ask everyone affected by this issue to take a minute and vote for the following bug.
    Thanks.

    I checked all deployment descriptions and there are no references to t3://localhost:7001. Few months back, I had the complete clustering setup working on 2 machines and now when I deploy my application on same configuration, it fails with t3://localhost:7001 unreachable error. I created a new cluster configuration on one machine with 2 managed server and it deploys fine. Can not figure out what has changed ?

    It's http://mimarchlinux.googlecode.com/file … .8.tar.bz2, just as the PKGBUILD says.
    Edit:
    If something is broken, you should ask on the AUR page for the maintainer to fix the PKGBUILD https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/openbox-menu/, but the PKGBUILD worked for me.

    openbox-menu is from the AUR and not from the repos, so changing mirrors won't do anything here. You might want to read on what AUR is and deal with the issues with the signatures first.

    First, you need to upgrade to the latest version of uln-yum-mirror to avoid these errors in future. The latest version has mitigation tools to remove RPMs that fail GPG checking.
    In this instance, you need to manually delete the RPMs that pyCURL can't download. Once you delete all the RPMs, the next run of uln-yum-mirror will download them fresh and recreate the yum metadata locally.

    Always use -Suy when installing packages, the current version is 1.2.3-2
    Also we do not support archlinux-arm, it is an unofficial port and you should use their forum/irc channel.

    ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from <LINK_NAME>
    The ODBC driver should map the varchar(max) column to SQL_LONGVARCHAR which would be appropriate for Oracle but the column is getting truncated
    Issue
    By default the SQL Server ODBC driver exposes the varchar(max) data type as a SQL_VARCHAR. When reporting the maximum size of a varchar(max) column, the driver returns 0, which is the Microsoft convention for "unlimited".
      [ODBC][25518][1399527750.588980][SQLDescribeCol.c][497]
      Exit:[SQL_SUCCESS]
      Column Name = [raw_response]
      Data Type = 0x7fffe3cbe1a4 -> 12
      Column Size = 0x7fffe3cbe158 -> 0
      Decimal Digits = 0x7fffe3cbe1ac -> 0
      Nullable = 0x7fffe3cbe1b0 -> 1
    DG4ODBC is unable to interpret a zero length as an "unlimited" size and returns an error when retrieving varchar(max) data.
    FreeTDS and DataDirect ODBC drivers  return SQL_LONGVARCHAR instead of SQL_VARCHAR with 0 precision. So there is no problem reported for these drivers.
    Is there a fix for this or is the Microsoft ODBC driver team working on a fix for the driver regarding varchar(max)?
