  • How to use PropertyChangeSupport for a bean from another bean

    Hi all,
    I have a bean A that doesnot implements the PropertyChangeListener or have a PropertyChangeSupport as one of its member and I cant change its design. I want to fire an PropertyChangeEvent when a property is changed. I added A to PropertyChangeSupport of another bean B. The problem is that even if the Property of Bean A is changed it doesnot fire a event. Can anybody let me know how to do it?
    Thanks,
    Amit

    You need to wrap bean A inside another bean (B) that
    implements the accessor and mutator methods of Bean A
    and adds property change support in those methods
    where appropriate. You hide the actual instance of
    bean A inside an instance of bean B so no instances of
    bean A are visible to the application.This is OK, unless you don't want to change all places where A is referenced. You could subclass B from A, as long as the accessor and mutator methods are not final. Of course, instantation still has to know about B and you will have to cast to B, or use reflection, to add and remove the listeners.

  • How to use type, packages, functions, and procedures in another schema ?

    I have two target schema in one OWB project, such as A and B. In a mapping of A, I would like to use some types, packages, functions, and procedures from B. I have tried the method of synonym as suggested, but I could not find the metadata of these when importing ... The only type of synonym I can import is the synonym for table. Is there a bug for synonym?
    If I cannot use synonym for this issue, is there another way to solve the problem?

    Now, in some instances you will absolutely need to create the second module as Carsten describes, however it should also be noted that you can reference objects in things like Expressions even if you have not loaded up the metadata. It is only when you need strong binding that it becomes neccessary to import objects. For everything else, as long as the reference will resolve at compile-time then you are good to go.
    For example, I have a function in one target schema (S1) and a private synonym to it in another(s2). A mapping in the S2 schema has an expression object that uses the synonym to the function in the expression property for a couple of the output attirbutes. The synonym has not been loaded into metadata - indeed OWB has no knowledge of its existance. But it resolves at compile time so the mapping validates and generates successfully.

  • Using execute immediate creating a table from another

    hi friend i wanted to create a table from a select statement in a pl sql procedure. i am using execute immediate but getting problems with it pls can anyone help me.
    here is the query i am using
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'CREATE TABLE table_name AS  (SELECT * FROM  a_view   WHERE column_name LIKE '%some_string%');
    i need to know if this can be done and if yes how. pls help me its bit urgent too. the schema name is same and the privileges are available to create tables too.

    Your syntax is wrong.
    If you would use a syntax higlighted editor, it would show.
    Yout try to execute a string where another string is embedded. Please use two times single quote or use the 'q' function:
    This one is correct:
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'CREATE TABLE table_name AS (SELECT * FROM  a_view WHERE column_name LIKE ''%some_string%'')';
    or this one:
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE q'|CREATE TABLE table_name AS (SELECT * FROM  a_view WHERE column_name LIKE '%some_string%')|';
    good luck

  • Set value of variable in one bean from another bean

    Using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4, I thought this would be simple to do, but I haven't been able to figure out the correct syntax and am just learning java. In my view controller I have one bean set as pageflow scope, and another bean set as a request scope. How do I set the value of a variable in the first bean from the second bean? The first bean has setters and getters, but when I try to reference them in the second bean, it says it isn't allowed. The first bean looks like:
    public class ViewAmtsParameters {
        String asOfDateParam = null;
        public void setAsOfDateParam(String asOfDateParam) {
            this.asOfDateParam = asOfDateParam;
        public String getAsOfDateParam() {
            return asOfDateParam;
    }Thanks in advance,
    Troy

  • Clarification on application method calls from backing bean.

    Hi Experts ,
    In our application we are using two different ways to call application module methods from backing bean.
    allication module method name : addRowValidUnitInfo
    it has 2 parameters serialNumber,modelNumber
    1.
    BindingContainer bindings1 =
    BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    OperationBinding serialModelDetails =
    bindings1.getOperationBinding("addRowValidUnitInfo");
    serialModelDetails.getParamsMap().put("serialNumber",
    serialNumber.getValue().toString());
    serialModelDetails.getParamsMap().put("modelNumber",
    modelNumber.getValue().toString());
    serialModelDetails.execute();
    String result =serialModelDetails.getResult().toString();
    2.
    EWarrantyAdminModule appModule =(EWarrantyAdminModule)
    Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(amDef,config);
    try {
    String result = appModule.addRowValidUnitInfo(serialNumber.getValue().toString(), modelNumber.getValue().toString());
    } catch (Exception e) {
    finally {
    Configuration.releaseRootApplicationModule(appModule,true);
    Can any one tell me which one gives best performance and which one should be used in which situations.
    For me both are working fine but just want to know whcih is the best practice and which gives best performance.
    Regards
    Gayaz

    The approach 1 is the right way.
    Reasons:
    1) With Approach 2 - you are creating new ApplicationModule on the fly and release it at the end of the request. If you are invoking multiple method calls, you need to the same for each & every call.
    This is not reusing the existing application module.
    2) If the use cases which does calls for maintaining state across requests from the same client - across the application flow, Approach 2 cannot be used.
    Read this blog post from Jobinesh (which indirectly distinguishes both these approaches).

  • How to debug a RFC function module remotely from another R/3 system?

    Hi experts,
       I have RFC function module in one R/3 system. I am calling this from another R/3 system that is cross apps (Xapps).
       This function module is Synchronous.
      Is it possible to debug this function module from cross apps?
      Can somebody give me the steps?
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi Shree,
       Can you explain it bit more?
       Do I have to call the function  module with "IN BACKGROUND TASK"?
       Or is it that I have to just put external breakpoint in the function module?

  • Problem while invoking a Stateless Session bean from another bean

    Hi,
    I have a peculiar problem while coding with Stateless Session beans. Maybe you guys can help me out over here. The scenario is as follows
    There are 3 Stateless Session beans. Let Us say Bean A, B and C. There are three methods, method1, method2, and method3 inside A, B and C respectively.
    From A.method1(), B.method2(), and C.method3() are being invoked sequentially. Each of these methods does some JDBC operation and then returns.
    The problem is this, if C.method3() throws and exception, then I am unable to rollback the changes made by B.method2(). Those changes get "Committed" to the database.
    All the 3 beans have Bean managed persistence property set. I am using WebSphere 6.1.
    Any insight on why this is happening would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks In Advance
    Amardeep Verma

    Hi,
    This is a matter of calling all three methods in the same transaction context. Most easy way of doing this is having a 4th session bean containing a method calling the other 3. Make sure that the Transaction Attributes are REQUIRED, which is the default.
    If the calls a to different backends/databases, you need global transactions and therefor XA complient database and drivers.

  • Using Field symbol to fetch data from another program

    I have a requirement where i need to fetch value  of a field from one of the function pool so i have written a sample progam to check the logic but its doest seems to work its giving dump.
    Basically i want to know how to use <programname><fieldname> with fieldsymbol.
    REPORT ztest1.
    DATA test(25) VALUE 'ggg'.
    submit ztest.
    report ztest.
    constants: lv_memory(25) type c value '(ZTEST1)TEST'.
    field-symbols: <fs2> type char25 .
    assign (lv_memory) to <fs2>.
    write : <fs2>.
    I am getting same field symbol assignment dump

    Hi Rahul,
    You can use this concept in between the FUNCTION MODULES where both are
    under same FUNCTION GROUP ( as both the FM's have same global memory area ).
    And also if you are calling an FM or method from your program  ,you can have the data of the calling program in that called FM or METHOD.
    Hope this may help you.

  • How to make validation in Bean and select value from another table

    I want to know how to select data from table in backing bean according to primary key i have
    the problem is that
    i have a table Employee_Salary contains Employee ids and their salary
    Empoloyee_Salary table
         Employee_ID      Number
         Employee_salary Number
    And Another table Called Employees
    Employees table
         Employee_ID     Number
         IsManager Varchar2 its value is [*Yes or NO*]
    and other columns that i don't care about this table
    i have on a jsff page an <af:table> this table is editable this is the Empoloyee_Salary table
    *i want to check before save or after insert if this employee is Manager [from Employees tabke(yes or no)] the salary*
    cannot be less that 100
    i want to know how to make this how to select the value from employees table according to the id i have in the employee_salary table how to make this and make this validation
    i have to select IsManager from Employees Table to see if this manager or no
    i want to know how to make this in a bean
    i use jdeveloper 11g
    and my project is ADF Fusion project
    and the page that have the Emplpyee_Salary table is JSFF
    thanks in advance

    You might want to write this code in a validator on the entity object if it should apply from every screen.
    If you want to access view objects from a backing bean the basics are here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/web.1111/b31974/bcservices.htm#sthref918

  • Can I use iTunes Match to add songs from another computer

    Now that I have iTunes Match running on my home and work computers can I add songs to my library from either one. I often get (non-iTunes) music while I'm at work and want to put it on my iPhone right away, but since my phone is synced to my computer at home, The only way I've been able to do it is bring the files home, put it on that computer and then load on my iphone. Does iTunes match eleviate this? Is there another way to do it?

    Yes, iTunes Match alleviates this situation.  As long as iTunes on both of your computers is using the same Apple ID, you can add songs to either one, and once they have uploaded to iCloud, they will be available on any of your iDevices AND in iTunes on the other computer.

  • Using an array in one class from another

    If I create a new string array in a class, and then set the values in that class, how can I use these value in another class? The way I have tried is to create a new instance of the class that holds the array, but when thinking about it, if I create a new instance surely the value in the array wont have been set? hence why when I am trying to use the array all the values are null.
    Thanks

    You could create a member variable in one class, making the the variable of the other class' type. Then simply call one of the member object's methods, passing the array reference as an argument.

  • Calling a session bean from another bean

    Hi,
    Using weblogic server 6.1, I am trying to call a session bean, B, from a session bean A.
    After importing B's package, I have added the following code to A's implementation:
    try {
    Properties h = new Properties(); h.putContext.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
    h.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "t3://localhost:7001" );
    Context ctx = new InitialContext(h);
    Object tempHome = ctx.lookup(JNDI Name of B);
    BHome home;
    home = (BHome)javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow(tempHome, BHome.class);
    catch(Exception e){...}
    I can compile the code successfully but when I run it,I get an error saying:"java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: B.BHome"
    Can someone please tell me where I am going wrong?
    Thanks in advance,
    Fauzia

    I haven't used that web server but I have had the same kind of problem with ours.
    My guess is that you are compiling this in an environment where the home class is in the classpath. When you run it, though, this class cannot be resolved. Usually we have this problem when the class that is trying to get the bean is unable to find the remote jar.

  • Using import script to read data from another location

    Hi,
    I need to find a way to import, in one location, the data of all other locations (with some additional transformations) using an integration script.
    I think I should be able to read from the recordset returned by farsTable, but I need to know how to find the table name that contains the data from my other locations.
    Thanks in advance,
    Julien

    First you will need to read the tpovlocation table to get the location key and segment key for each location to be read. You can then either read the relevent tdataseg(index) table where the index is the segment key from the location table, or alternatively you could try to access the data from the View (which i think is Vdata) in which case you you will not need the segment key.
