Use additional mouse buttons in javafx

Hi to all
Is there a possibility to use events for additional mouse buttons, like the next or previous mouse buttons, in javafx? If I use the setOnMousePressed event on a node, it only throws an event for the "PRIMARY" "SECONDARY" and "MIDDLE" buttons.
node.setOnMousePressed(new EventHandler<MouseEvent>() {
      @Override public void handle(MouseEvent mouseEvent) {
          System.err.println("mouse button: " + mouseEvent.getButton());
If i use this java application (http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/events/mouselistener.html) it is also possible to throw events for the next or previous mouse buttons of the mouse. But not in my javafx application.
Thanks in advance...

Hi
Please look at class MouseEvent at method getButton()
Enum Constant and DescriptionMIDDLE
Represents middle (button 2) mouse button.
NONE
Represents no button.
PRIMARY
Represents primary (button 1, usually the left) mouse button.
SECONDARY
Represents seconday (button 3, usually the right) mouse button.

  • Clicking noise when using the 'mouse' button

I'm not sure what the button is called, but I'm sure ya know what I mean. I've had my macbook since August and this had just started happening. When I used the clicking button, it's harder to press, almost like there's something under it, and it makes a noise like it's getting stuck but then going down all the way. Anyone else have this issue or know what's causing it? Should I just get a mighty mouse?

Follow the instructions in this article released by Apple.

    Best.

  • Using right mouse button as secondary button

I have just received a replacement Apple wired mighty mouse because I couldn't get the right mouse button to work as a Secondary button. However, I have exactly the same problem with the new mouse!
I am using the latest update to OS X 10.4.8, with the latest firmware in my Intel Mac Mini.
Strangely enough, if I reverse the buttons, i.e. set the right button to Primary, and the left button to Secondary, the Secondary button works fine. In all cases both buttons work fine as Primary buttons. Any ideas why the right button won't work as a secondary please? Has anybody else had this problem?

Doh! Thank you, thank you. After two replacement mice and many calls to Apple technical supprt, you have found the problem in two minutes It's a little strange having to wave the left finger about in the air while using the right button though - not a very ergonomic design.

  • Select record using Right Mouse Button

How can I use the right mouse button to select a record in a multi-record grid?
The default bahavior for Right Button is the Popup Menu.
    null

Have you look at how to use the "when mouse triggers" perhaps create a db object for the triggers with the action you wish it to accompolish and include them in all your forms. The help system in forms, displays examples of all triggers and some of there uses and actions.

  • Anyway to make mouse button 4 and 5 not go back and forward but still retain there functionality with other programs

This has been brought up a few times but Mozilla refuses to add this functionality or to simply explain to us why they cant. And please do not tell me to just use X-Mouse Controls because there is absolutely no reason why this can't be done or explained to us.
Don't really care if this counts as spam...this issue has been annoying since Ventrilo and Firefox has co-existed.
Thank you, Have a nice day!

You can't do this for Firefox without using X-Mouse Button Control AFAIK.<br />
Firefox doesn't have support to change those mouse button actions and at least that program appears to work as reported by some.

  • Software based trackpad/mouse button issue

I have been experiencing a recurring issue with my the trackpad on my macbook when trying to select the "Close" icon in the tops of windows, and also when pressing confirm/ok buttons within system setting changes.
Basically when trying to click on the icon with either a tap on the trackpad of by using the mouse button, the "click" will not register. I can click and select other windows and icons on the screen, just not the close or confirm buttons. The only to rectify this is to click into another window, and then come back into the one that I wish to interact with.
Has anyone had the same issue and knows of a fix?

I am experiencing the same thing.
It seems what is needing to happen is for the 'mouse's state' to be emptied or resetted when onRelease or onReleaseOutside of an osx app button.
This is so annoying as it happens with some macs (like mine) and not others. In my case, I click on the red X and it does nothing. I click again and it minimizes. So bloody annoying.
I am using the keyboard more frequently now to close my apps, but I shouldn't have to. It's ridiculous.
Also it's happening with minimized items in the dock.
If I have a series of minimized items and I click on them in a row to restore them all, it will only restore the first one (or every other one) I click on and then I have to refresh my 'mouse state' by clicking on something else and then going back to the dock to restore (and I loop this procedure).
I tried this on the mac pros in the store, and it doesn't seem to be an issue.

  • Cant use right mouse buttton after open a Menu

After I open Menu (all in this) Firefox crash using right mouse button. It do it every time, so I must reset Firefox to use right button.
How can I do with it (but, "don't use Menu" isn't an answer :P ).

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

  • Numpad Zero on Keyboard locks Mouse Buttons

Hi, I'm using a 2.0 ghz PowerPC G5 iMac on MacOS 10.4.10, and I've had this problem for about a year now. I'm using an Apple wireless keyboard and an apple Mighty Mouse. I've switched keyboards and mice a dozen times trying to fix this problem, and have already reset keyboard shortcuts to defaults in case that was it. It's not activating mouse controlled by keyboard, because I still can move my mouse, I just can't click anytime this happens. Which is often. Anytime I click the zero on the number pad of a keyboard, it completely disables use of mouse buttons on any mouse I try. The only way to fix it is a forced reboot by holding the power button of my iMac, it drives me insane. Please help if you can!

Mouse Keys is on. You may have turned it on by pressing Option five times. Press Option five times to turn it off. You can disable the Option control of Mouse Keys in the "Mouse" tab of "Universal Access" system preference. When Mouse Keys is on, Keypad-0 locks the mouse button down. Keypad-5 will release it.

  • PB Mouse Button, is it normal?

    Hi all
I have had a PB 1.5GHz for about 6 months with normal use......
And - it seems when I havent used the mouse button for a few minutes or use it on the center or right edge - it seems quite stiff and clicks alot when pressed (especially on the left edge) making a pretty (i think) loud click.
Does this happen to these mouses or is it faulty?
    Cheers all!

You might do a search, as this was discussed in another post. Mine works fine on the left, but is stiff, hard to click, and loud on the right side. However, it's not consistent. Very annoying....as soon as I figure out the pattern of when it doesn't work, I'll take it into the Apple store to send it off for repair.

  • I used to be able to open links in a new tab by clicking my middle mouse button, but now that I've updated it to the most recent update it doesn't work anymore. How do I fix this? I really love that feature. It works in IE and Chrome but not Mozilla.

Ok, I used to be able to open links up in a new Tab using my middle mouse button. However, I updated firefox with the automatic Updates on the 26th of October and now I no longer can open links with my middle mouse button. Why? I use this feature just about every time I go searching on the internet so I really would like it back. I couldn't find anything that it was related to in the options so I turn this over to you guys.

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode? <br />

  • After i have downloaded an album from iCloud to my new macbook pro. Itunes will only play one song at a time. If i hit the fast forward or back button will not do anything. I have to use the mouse to hit the next tidal in the album then hit play for it

after i have downloaded an album from iCloud to my new macbook pro. Itunes will only play one song at a time. If i hit the fast forward or back button will not do anything. I have to use the mouse to hit the next tidal in the album then hit play for it to play the next song. Or put it in the UP NEXT.

First, make sure these items have checkmarks next to their names in iTunes. Continuous playback only works on checked items. Itunes will play all checked items in a list whether or not they're from the same album.
If you see that nothing in your library is checked and you want to check everything, hold down Ctrl while checking an item. This checks everything.
Next, fixing the "1 of 1" problem is easily. Select all the tracks that make up the book/album. Let's say there are 15. Press Ctrl-I. Doublecheck that the album box is filled in with the name of the book, and if not, type it there. Enter "15" in the box for the total number of tracks. Click OK. Now all the items should be "1 of 15," "2 of 15," and so on.

  • When using the right mouse button in Yahoo mail inbox (Firefox 8.0.1, Win 7, Yahoo Mail Plus) the Firefox navigation window (Back, Forward etc...) is on top of the Yahoo email menu (Open, Print, Reply etc...). This happens in Firefox safe mode as well.

This also happened in Windows XP which I was using until recently.
The Yahoo mail menu is there but the Firefox menu is on top of it. I tried Firefox safe mode with everything disabled and the problem still happened. I tried Yahoo mail in IE 9 and the right mouse button works correctly.

    Can you attach a screenshot?
Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).<br />
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.<br />
You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.<br />

I guess the track pad settings would look similar to my screen shot?

  • I can not open the bookmarks tab or use the right mouse button in firefox

''locking this thread as duplicate, please continue at [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1053467 /questions/1053467]''
I recently downloaded firefox to my new laptop. I can not open the bookmarks tab or use any of the right mouse button options.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
*Download the full Firefox installer and save the file to the desktop<br>https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    *(32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    *(64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.

Huh.. Interesting. I went back to check these proceedures and found there is a difference between using the return key or the space bar as the action command.
tabbing the blue ring moves the selection and then spacebar takes that action. The return key takes action of only the blue collored button.
