Use of Xpather with OATS.

We have been using Selenium.
Now we are learning OATS. Can we use the "XPather',FireBug with OATS.
I assume we can use the isTextPresent, asserEquals etc with OATS tool.
Is this correct.

Thanks for the reply Alex.
I would like to know whether or not we can use Firebug,XPather tool (these attach to Firefox browser only). These are not related to OpenScript directly, though, the IDE/Interface is eclipse, it seems.

  • How to use XPath with XMLBean?

    Hi all,
    I'm using xmlbean for a new project now, and everything was great until I tried
    to use a XPath selection.
    I got a "java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: This operation requires xqrl.jar"
    exception, but I could not find this jar anywhere.
    I'm using the stand alone version of XMLBena. This is a small project and there
    is no need for an App Server, therefore no full WebLogic 8.1
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Silvio

    Hello Silvio -- Are you working with XMLBeans as downloaded from Apache?
    XPath support in the standalone implementation of XMLBeans is limited to
    simple expressions. The more sophisticated support available via xqrl.jar is
    included with XMLBeans as it ships with WebLogic Platform 8.1.

  • Is there any possibility to combine XPath with SAX in Java?

    HI Gentlemen,
    I have an XML instance to parse. One solution works with XPath and Document builder. However, the tree in memory is too big so that I can not build it in my storage (8 GB). Does anyone of you know a method where I use an XPath expression (Java) to select a node but with a better parser (e g SAX) which is not so space hungry? Direct access of nodes is obligatory.
    Thanks, kind regards from
    Miklos HERBOLY

    As SAX  parsers do not build a DOM structure and XPath requires a DOM structure to select elements from, XPath is not usable with SAX, but some analysers support setting the XPath expressions to analyse before invoking the SAX parser and provide the result for XPath expressions.

  • Equivalent of SQL JOINs using XML + XPath

    I have been working on a Java app for a while that takes user queries and searches various translations of the Bible. The data is stored in 66 .xml files, one per book of the Bible, and those files, in turn, are stored in a .jar file.
    The user may select 2 or more translations and see them in parallel. So for example, let's say that want Matthew chapter 1 and verses 1 to 10 from KJV and ASV. I simply use the following XPath expression: /book/chapter[@num=1]/verse[@num>=1 and @num<=10] . Then I use XPathFactory, XPath, compile() and evaluate() on Matthew.xml from kjv.jar and asv.jar.
    However, the problem is not so simple for keyword queries from the user. In such a case the tool searches for keywords in one translation and then finds the same verses from all subsequent translations. Here the XPath expression might be more like: /book/chapter/verse[contains(., 'keyword1') and contains(., 'keyword2')] for the first translation. However, if I ran the same query on subsequent translations they may or may not return the exact same set of verses (depending on language (English, Greek, Hebrew) and also on the dialect (Old English vs. Modern English)). So, my question is what is the most efficient way of obtaining the same verses from subsequent translations?
    I could simply look up the verses in the first translation, then use DOM API calls to find the chapter and verse numbers, and look those up in the other translations. But this seems tedious, SLOW, and possibly more error prone.
    Also, a second question: if I wanted to include a help file in my application's .jar file. How could I access that file programmatically? That is, how do I tell the application to look for "help.html" in the jar file so I can manipulate and/or display the contents to the user?
    And last question: since, I'm still learning my way around Java and XML, how would I go about programmatically applying a .xsl file to some given .xml input to produce HTML + CSS output? What classes, interfaces, etc. should I look up for this? And can anyone point me to sample code online for this?

    That's one way. Another is to use a templating alternative like Velocity.
    And can anyone point me to sample code online for this?Try the Apache Xalan docs. Or this:

    Why are you using dynamic SQL statements? Why not just use something like this instead in your PL/SQL. I also replaced the leading // in your Xpath with just / since you start from the root node.
    select *
      INTO l_dummy
      from xmltable(XMLNAMESPACES('http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema' AS "XSD", default 'http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/'),

                    passing xmltype(l_xml)
                    columns
                    ab xmltype path '.' ) t;Also, the above returns two rows, which I suspect is not what you want. Here is the pure SQL version for you to debug.
    select *
      from xmltable(XMLNAMESPACES('http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema' AS "XSD", default 'http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/'),

  • XML Signature using an XPath filter

    I want to sign an XML document, just based on the content of a particular element in the document. Based on the jwsdp docs it looked pretty simple, but I'm getting strange results. I'll get the same digest value in the SignedInfo for different Xpath filter strings.
    Anybody out there have good luck trying to sign XML documents using Xpath filters?
    I'm using JDK 1.5.05 and JWSDP 1.6.
    Here is my simple XML doc
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <myns:whole_doc xmlns:myns="http://namespace.myns.com/test"
    attr1="attr_one" attr2="attr_two" attr3="attr_three">
    <myns:part_one attr="attr_one">
    <myns:tag1>this is part_one tag_one</myns:tag1>
    <myns:tag2>this is part_one tag_two</myns:tag2>
    </myns:part_one>
    <myns:part_two attr="attr_two">
    <myns:tag1>this is part_two tag_one</myns:tag1>
    <myns:tag2>this is part_two tag_two</myns:tag2>
    </myns:part_two>
    <myns:part_three attr="attr_three">
    <myns:tag1>this is part_three tag_one</myns:tag1>
    <myns:tag2>this is part_three tag_two</myns:tag2>
    </myns:part_three>
    </myns:whole_doc>
    When I use an XPath filter = "/myns:whole_doc/myns:part_one" I get the same digest as when I use "/myns:whole_doc/myns:part_two", which is the same digest when I don't use XPath filtering. See example output below
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <myns:whole_doc xmlns:myns="http://namespace.myns.com/test" attr1="attr_one" attr2="attr_two" attr3="attr_three">

    </Signature>
    </myns:whole_doc>

    It took me all day, but I did find the answer.
    When using XPath filters in references, you can't use XPath exactly the way you would use XPath to find nodes in a document. I can't exactly explain why, but it has to do with the fact that the XPath statement is acting as a filter.
    Anyway, to just include the part_one element from the following abbreviated XML
    <myns:whole_doc> .....
    <myns:part_one> ..... </myns:part_one>
    <myns:part_two> .... </myns:part_two>
    </myns:whole_doc>
    the XPath statement should be "ancestor-or-self::myns:part_one"
    to make sure that part_one was part of whole_doc you could use something like
    (ancestor-or-self::node() = /myns:whole_doc/myns:part_one)
    This allows me to sign a document, but still allow portions outside of whole_doc/part_one to change.

    please find below the details of the object identification issue, we are seeing with OATS.
    Environment:
    JRE Version     : JRE 7 Update: 65
    OATS Version : 12.4.0.2_129 (Build)
    Application Built on : Oracle EBS/Forms & Applets(11g Forms)
    Operating System: Win 7 32-Bit Professional
    Browser: Internet Explorer 9
    Object Identification Issue:
    1. Launch OATS Open Script
    2. Login to Test application by opening URL using IE9 browser.
    (Login was successful)
    3. Click on the button and check if forms are loading
    (Oracle forms are loading).
    4. Try spying or recording actions on any objects in the forms
    (Issue - Objects are not getting identified by OATS)
    Appreciate any help on this. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    I suggest you to select only 1.7.0.65 in Java Runtime Environment Settings and uncheck version 1.7.0.67.
    Try to launch application. If the application opens, then Openscript will identify objects. Else have to wait till next release of Openscript supporting JRE version 1.7.0.67.
    Please let me know if the above suggested method worked.

  • How do I use your iPhone with multiple iTunes libraries

    Hi, I have my music spread out between 3 seperate Itunes libraries on 3 different profiles on my computer. I have the newest generation Ipod Nano, Ipod Shuffle, and Iphone 4s. My Ipod's are both full, so I've decided to start putting music onto my phone. With my Ipod's, I can plug them into one profile on the computer, download the music on the Itunes library that exists on that profile, then do the same with the other profiles with no issue. However when I try to do this with my phone, It asks me to erase the music I have gotten from one Itunes library and sync with the current library, as soon as I plug it in to a different Itunes on one of the other profiles. I have my Iphone configured with the Manually manage music option, and I still haven't found a way to use my Iphone with multiple music libraries. PLEASE HELP

    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12113 - If you use manual syncing, you can sync items from more than one iTunes library to your iPod. (You can sync iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad with only one iTunes library.)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1202 - When manually managing content, you can add content from multiple libraries to your iPod or iPad. Even when manually managing music, some content may be available from only one library at time. This includes all content on iPhone and video content on iPod and iPad.

    Using multiple desktops with a 4 finger swipe on a Mac Book Pro running Lion- is there a way that I can allow Safari open on several but not all??  Looks like I can set it for one but not others.  All, one, or nothing

    Hey Eric,
    Thanks for taking the time. Unfortunately no that does not solve it. Same as swipe it will get me there and it will show separate programs spaced out. The issue I am having is that all my open word files are bunched up in a pile on top of each other. I can see the edges of each one but I want them to be separated from each other enough that I can visually identify what file is what.
    Again, thanks for trying, it is appreciated.

    can anyone help me out in resolving this issue.

    Hi All,
    Thank u all for ur replies, but I dint the exact solution for what I'm searching for.
    If I use the condition as
    "WHERE "Workforce Budget"."Used Budget Amount" BETWEEN MAX("Workforce Budget"."Total Eligible Salaries") AND MAX("Workforce Budget"."Published Worksheet Budget Amount"",
    all the data will be grouped with the two columns which I'm considering in the condition.
    my actual requirement with this query is to get the required date from a table to generate the report either as daily or weekly or monthly report. If I use repository variables, variables are not getting refreshed until I regenerate the server(which I should not do in my project). Hence I have created a table to hold weekly start and end dates and monthly start and end dates to pass the value to the actual report using between operator.
    please could anyone help me on this, my release date is fast approaching.

  • Are there advantages to using Adobe Bridge with Premiere Pro?

    I frequently use pictures with my videos.  Normally, I use Windows Explorer with the picture viewer to browse for what I'd like to use.  I've experimented with Bridge, finding it to be a memory hog and slow.  It got me wondering - Are there advantages vs. Windows Explorer?

    Bridge can be used to easily add hierarchical keywords to large amounts of clips (and afaik it's the only tool in the Adobe suit that can do hierarchical keywording with video files). Those keywords can then be used to find clips inside of Premiere. On large projects (1000+ clips) that can be a life saver.
    Apart from this and the features you mentioned (the cross software color stuff is useless for video as of CS6), I did not find any use to Bridge for video. Plus as you said, it is a memory hog, slow and in my own experience unstable with /  not adapted to video.

  • Using AJA IO with the FCP Voice Over Tool

    Has anyone used the io with the VO tool? I have gotten it to work in the past, however, there are a number of convoluted settings to go through to get it to work. It seems intermittent. Today it doesnt want to work at all.
    Does anyone have a list of the specific A/V settings, Capture presets, etc, that i need to have set in order for this to work?
    FYI--I have never had a problem capturing from tape--(using log and capture with beta, digibeta, dv, vhs)--only when capturing analog audio using the VO tool.
    gracias.

    You can do it here, in the Audio/Video settings under the Final Cut Pro menu. Click on the Capture Presets tab, then go to Generic Capture Template, duplicate it, then edit. Give it a name that you can recognize when you need to set up your project.

    No, nothing will prevent the computer from going to sleep when you close its display except third-party hacks that are designed to do exactly that. I strongly advise against using any of those, as they may interfere with successful entry into clamshell mode (and they carry other downside risks as well). Just wait until the computer is asleep (with its sleep light pulsing), then press any key on the keyboard. It sounds as though your setup is working as it's designed to do.
