I would like to know how this can be done, Please help me out if you have any idea regarding templates.

You take one of your arranged reports: with the right fonts, borders, with margin objects: dates, page number. You can also add user parameters, report level triggers and you can set the desired system parameter default values.
The source report should only have a Main Section. No Trailer or Header sections!
In the report builder, File menu, Administration, Convert, select your report as source and TDF as Destination for conversion.
Then you need to open this new TDF file in the Template section of the report and by using the Property Palette, you can make further modifications at the parameters, or fields alignment, font, border, etc. for each desired type of report and level.
You may want to make multiple templates for different levels.

Tabbed navigation,Theme change and User define templates problem

Hi,
·     I have created an application in which I have defined many page,page regions,buttons,forms templates myself.
·     The end user has now requested for a tabbed look and feel for the same and that too in a different theme (color red)
·     However, inclusion of tabs to the application plus a change in the theme color (to red) in this case causes all user defined templates to behave erratically.
·     I guess these templates will have to be redefined in this new theme. I tried to copy some of these today but got weird results.
Without all these templates in place the look and feel of the application will not be as usual.
·     Also,I had posted a thread on the APEX forums concerning tabs and have received information that each page in the application has to be manually added to the tab set in a situation such as this.This will really increase the time taken to achieve the desired application navigation.
I would appreciate some good advice as how to get this appliction navigation running smoothly in a tabbed format in the least possible time.

I would have a look at the Lists in Shared Components which allow you to create Tabs as well.
They are a bit more flexible.

Third party software is available,from AccessVia, that can be used to create and update templates. Sample sample sqt can help you to understand the required inputs (batchID, templateID, departmentID, locale).

Hi Mani,
If you copy a template in ApEx, you have your own version of that template.
If you then alter the code in your version of the template, you have your own custom version.
If you don't understand the underlying HTML, you are going to struggle.

Oracle Reports, Working with User defined template

Dear Ones,
I saw the Reports9i online help, there if i want to add my own template to the list of predefined template list , it said to add the template in the following directory:"ORACLE_HOME/REPORT60/ADMIN/TEMPLATE/US"
But I am unable to find this directory in my ORACLE-HOME...Plz help me..

On Windows installation in my machine, the directory structure mentioned is present. But on Solaris, it is under $ORACLE_HOME/reports60/admin/templates.
Please let me know what exactly the help says.
Also state where you are looking for online help.
Are you using 6i / 9i Reports (because directory structure mentions "REPORT60") but you have mentioned who saw in Reports9i Online help. Please clarify.

i have generated a query using variables ,but when i am executing that query in web ,i am not getting any pop up asking fr variable.so wht might b the error.

How can I print document, based on user define template (Report Layout)?

I want to be able to choose report layout, and print a document based on it. Can I implement it in my SDK code?

Hi Shrem,
I don't think this is possible with SDK code and PLD. You can do this if you're using a standard Crystal Report layout and you just send code to it using your code. Otherwise you can try and do this with user reports and queries in SBO itself without the SDK. But you're going to have to make all your layouts with more or less the same query and have where statements that limits the rows that shows on the report.

Crystal Report Templates for User-Defined Objects

Hello Experts,
I am running SAP B1 8.8 PL11. In the current patch SAP has default Crystal Reports that can be used as Layouts for Invoices, Credit Memo's so on. Is it possbile to have layouts for user defined objects ( say for instance i have a customized form under sales module, can i import a crystal template for this customized form?). In the report layout manager i don't see an option to import user-defind objects.

Activity Templates - User Defined

Hi all,
I want to execute a shell from a process flow. I have created a User Defined Activity as follows:
COMMAND - #!/usr/bin/ksh
PARAMETER_LIST -
SUCCESS_THRESHOLD - 0
SCRIPT - full path+shell_name (/folder1/folder2/file.sh)
RESULT_CODE - 1
I have added it in a process flow and I deployed it without errors. Then when I start the process flow it doesn't work and the Control Center doesn't provide me any information/log about the error.
Could someone please help me on that?

Also, note that OS calls are disabled by default in OWB for security reasons (shell, email, sqlplus). You can read the discussion about the parameters that need to be set to enable those activities here if you have not done so:

Print Layout to User Defined Table

Hello guyz..
I want a make preprinted for my user query from user defined table where the header information is from another query.
I guess, the base template User Report (system) can only show the repetitve data from one query but the header area is not,
could you help, showing the header information from another query ??

The word is that you cannot use the PLD with user defined tables (i wish it was possible). So in any case to do that you have to use third party tools such as Crystal Reports and Reporting Services

XSLT Mapping - user defined Extension function

Hi to all,
can somebody helps me, please?
I need an own function, that can be used by the XSL Mapper. First I have only tried the sample given in Path <BPELPM>\integration\orabpel\samples\demos\XSLMapper\ExtensionFunctions
There is a java file with the defined functions and a xml file with the definition of this function for the mapper and last but not least a jar-file with the java class.
I have copied the jar to <JDEV_HOME>\jdev\lib\ext directory and in JDeveloper I have added SampleExtensionFunctions.xml to Tools->Preferences->XSL Map -> "User Defined Extension Functions Config File" field. After a restart of JDeveloper I find 2 new functions in the "User Defined Extension Functions" component palette page when a XSL Map is open. That's fine.
But if I test the mapping I get an error: "Failed to transform source XML.
java.lang.NoSuchMethodException: For extension function, could not find method org.apache.xpath.objects.XNodeSet.replaceChar([ExpressionCotext,]#STRING, #STRING)."
What is wrong?

Oracle XML support Extension function.
For example:
If we would like to import FAQDBUri.class with user-defined java functions, like TranslateDBUri(), we can write XSL file like this:

It is possible on Query Print Layout Design(QPLD) so Try to create QPLD.
Check this link u can get presentation slide form SAP.

First you can try to create the Query report with UDF filed.
for example,
SELECT T0.DocNum, T0.DocDate, T0.CardName, T0.CheckSum, T0.U_UDF1, T0.U_UDF2, T0.U_UDF3
FROM OVPM T0 WHERE T0.DocNum>='%0' and T0.DocNum<='%1' ORDER BY T0.DocNum
Steps to Develop a User Report in QPLD:-
If you save your Query in Query Manager. Next you can do this,
->> Choose the Query Manager on Top Menu.
->> Open the Qeury Manager Window.
->> Select the specific Query report. and
->> Click the Create Report button in Bottom on Qeury Manager Window.
->> then, Open the Create User Report Window and Select the User Report(System) in Base Template.
If you Change the QPLD name.
->> Click OK.
->> (or) If your Query Report have parameter. Click OK.
Now your Query report was Created QPLD.
Note: All SELECT statement fields will be Stored and Display in Repetetive Area1. and
Parameter Fields are in Repetetive Area0 so you can Try to Copy & Paste the Field_ID's to Repetetive Area Header (or) Repetetive Area Footer.
Example:
->> Open the QPLD and Goto Field index Window, then
->> Select the Repetetive Area Header & Repetetive Area Footer ncrease the Height on Properties Window.
->> Create the Formula fields in Repetetive Area Header & Repetetive Area Footer.
->> Which Field you want to print in header or footer. Drag the Field ID(in Repetetive Area) Copy & Paste to Formula Field.
Can you see to your Query PLD? do this,
->> Choose the Tools on Top Menu.
->> Click the Queries. -> Query Print Layout...
->> Open the Query Print Layout Window.
->> Click Reports Tab and Double the Template (Requrie QPLD) on QPLD Window.
->> Customize and Save the QPLD.
Can you see your Query PLD Preveiw and Print? do this,
->> Choose the Tools on Top Menu.
->> Click the Queries. -> Query Print Layout...
->> Open the Query Print Layout Window.
->> Select Template in Report Tab on QPLD Window.
->> Click Print Preview on Top menu.

Problem in Report Templetes of User defined COA

I have user defined Chart of Account.That means i have to prepare templetes for each reports such as Balance sheet, P/L statement, trial balance.But im not able to get how to prepare it.There is option of just naming the titles and active accounts.
1.what name to give them.upto how much level we have to make
that templete?upto last level or upto title accounts(second last level)?
2.how these names will link with codes of title accounts or others in Chart of account?
Means how it will fetch the value on what basis?as we cant give G/L code.
Im preparing first time templete of user defined COA.so please give solution in detail.

Hi Krishna,
The simplest way to create Financial Report Templates is to give a name to each template and click on the "Generate Chart of Accounts Template" button available in the lower right hand screen. This will create the template in the same order of the Chart of Accounts.
If you want to have your financial report in a format very different form you Chart of Accounts, then you can customise the Financial template. For this you need to link the Active accounts and this is possible only at level 4 (the lowest level) of the template. You need to create chicld accounst upto level 4 and then double click on it or right mouse click and you'll find a link for "Account Category -Details". This is where you need to link up your Active accounts.
One good practice is to leave the Show missing accounts check box ticked - this will show any account which are missed out in your template when you actually generate the report.

User Defined External Function - How to work?

I have defined some external functions in java by following the description in
C:\OraBPELPM_3\integration\orabpel\samples\demos\XSLMapper\ExtensionFunctions
I can use my functions in JDeveloper, but they do not work on the Oracle BPEL engine.
Is it enough just to place the jar-file in <OC4J_HOME>\j2ee\home\applib and add the jar-file in class-path (as described)?
What about the xml-file specifying the functions (called SampleExtentionFunctions.xml in the documentation)?
Should this file be copied to <OC4J_HOME>\... ?
Here is the error message I get by running my service:

Flemming, it looks like somthing is wrong in the xsl that it still goes to org.apache.xpath.objects.XNodeSet package instead of yours ..
