User exit on User entered Variable

Is it possible to run a user exit that will filter for a particular date, based on what the user enters. For example if the user enters the day May 20, 2008. Can instead filter the report for May 18, 2008 (Always Sunday). How do I go about doing this? I have the code to find the Sunday date, just having difficulty getting it to executing after the user has entered a date.

Hi Vendant
You will need 2 variables, the one the user enters the date against and another customer exit variable executed in step 2 that takes the input date and returns it to sunday.
This CMOD code might help, you may need to tweek it to cater to the date format you use
CASE i_step.
WHEN 2.
CASE i_vnam.
WHEN 'Tech name of customer exit var'.
DATA: loc_var_range LIKE rrrangeexit,
l_s_range TYPE rrrangesid.
DATA: i_t_var_rec LIKE LINE OF i_t_var_range.
DATA: l_text(10) Type C.
READ TABLE i_t_var_range INTO loc_var_range
WITH KEY vnam = 'tech name of first date var'.
use your code to find sunday here on the loc_var_range-low, this is the value the user entered.
you will need to assign loc_var_range-low to a variable like l_text as you cant manipulate it directly
l_text = loc_var_range-low.
l_s_range-low = the result of your find sunday code.
l_s_range-high = ''.
l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
ENDCASE.
ENDCASE.
Hope this helps
Cheers

  • Change Confirmed Qty in Sales Order User exit/ATP User exit

    HI
We have a requirement to change the ATP Qty for certain meterials & Order Types  duing sales Order User exit(FORM USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBEP.? ) or ATP User exit.( ATP...OUT?).
Is this ok to update the XVBEP in FORM USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBEP of MV45AFZZ ?
Our requirement will be like this, for one order type ZSAL( and for certain Materials)  we need to reserve 4 qty, if any order comes with 10 qty and the confimed qty is only 6( total available stock at present) , then we should only confirm  2 qty for the other order type( For Non ZSAL Order Type), and reserve the 4 QTY for ZSAL Order Type.
If there are multiple schedule lines for an Item, we need to reduce the qty equally( as possible) from all schdule lines.
    i.e. date1 qty 4
         date2 qty 6,
in  this case we should confirm  Date1 QTY 2, date2 qty 4, so that the remaining 4 will be reserved for ZSAL Order type.
Whats the Best way to achieve this ?

    Hi Agrud,
Did you check the possibilities with configuration. If it is not possible with configuration then you can use that exit. Before i used this but only to display not to change any thing.

  • User exit for user status

    Hi,
Please let me know if there is any user exit that triggers upon updating the user status in the status tab of the sales order.
I had used the exit 'Move_field_to_vbep' and 'USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT'
but they are not getting triggered on saving the sales order.
    Regards,
    Srirupa.

You can check with include RV45PFZA and USEREXIT_SET_STATUS_VBUK and USEREXIT_SET_STATUS_VBUP .
    Hope it helps.
    Reward if it is useful.
    Thanks,

  • User-exit not triggered(variable)

    Hi mates,
I have two variables A (fiscal year), B(calmonth interval) and both of type user-entry(replacement type).  I defined C varible of type user-exit(replacement type). In C, i'm reading A & B values and checked whether B's interval is in A.
    eg: A input is 2007 (means 04.2006 to 03.2007).
    B  input interval 03.2006 to 10.2006.
In C i'm checking whether B's interval is in A (fiscal year).
Based on B's value, dynamically i have to show  input & output layouts. I defined one function module for C, but it's not triggering after entering input values in plng folder.
How to trigger user-exit immediately after user enter input values? (without selecting dependent input or output layout tabs, these input or output layout uses varible B interval values for dynamically showing calmonth columns).
Previously i defined few varibles like above, there user-exits triggered only after i choosing related input or output layout tabs.
    thanks,
    Raju

The user exit written in the variable will be triggered if that variable is used anywhere in folder or layout or function or called in the logic of any other variable. In your case, C is not used anywhere that why it is not executing this code. For the required functionality, you have to create planning function of type exit and place this code. Run this function on layout open or folder opening something like this.

  • USER-EXIT EXAMPLE

    Hi all,
I'm completely unaware of user-exit and badi. Can anyone can explain me exactly these two concepts with realtime examples.... i want expalnation with some examples. Kindly help in this regards,
    With thanks,
    karthi.

    Hi subramanian karthi  ,
    User exits :
    1. Introduction:
User exits (Function module exits) are exits developed by SAP. The exit is implementerd as a call to a functionmodule. The code for the function module is writeen by the developer. You are not writing the code directly in the function module, but in the include that is implemented in the function module.
The naming standard of function modules for functionmodule exits is:
    EXIT_
    Example:
The program for transaction VA01 Create salesorder is SAPMV45A
If you search for CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION i program
SAPMV45A you will find ( Among other user exits):
    CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '003'
      exporting
        xvbak   = vbak
        xvbuk   = vbuk
        xkomk   = tkomk
      importing
        lvf_subrc = lvf_subrc
      tables
        xvbfa = xvbfa
        xvbap = xvbap
        xvbup = xvbup.
The exit calls function module EXIT_SAPMV45A_003
You will now come to a screen that shows the function module exits for the exit.
    3. Using Project management of SAP Enhancements, we want to create a project to enahance trasnaction VA01 .
    - Go to transaction CMOD
    - Create a project called ZVA01
    - Choose the Enhancement assign radio button and press the Change button
In the first column enter V45A0002 Predefine sold-to party in sales document.
Note that an enhancement can only be used in 1 project. If the enhancement is already in use, and error message will be displayed
    Press Save
Press Components. You can now see that enhancement uses user exit EXIT_SAPMV45A_002. Double click on the exit.
Now the function module is displayed. Double click on include ZXVVAU04 in the function module
Insert the following code into the include: E_KUNNR = '2155'.
Activate the include program. Go back to CMOD and activate the project.
Goto transaction VA01 and craete a salesorder.
Note that Sold-to-party now automatically is "2155"
User exit - A user exit is a three character code that instructs the system to access a program during system processing.
SXX: S is for standard exits that are delivered by SAP.   XX represents the 2-digit exit number.
UXX: U is for user exits that are defined by the user.  XX represents the 2-digit exit number
An example of a user exits :-
    MODULE user_exit_0001 INPUT
        CASE okcode.
            WHEN 'BACK OR EXIT'.
                CASE sy-dynnr.
                        WHEN '100'.
                             SET SCREEN 0.
                             LEAVE SCREEN.
                        WHEN '200'.
Note that you can write any code that satisfy your needs.                                                     ****
But in this case, this was wrote as a sample code for reference sake.                                    ****
And you can test it.                                                                                ****
                             SET SCREEN 100.
                             LEAVE SCREEN.
                 ENDCASE.
          ENDCASE.
    Finding User Exits
    Procdedure 1:
Valid up to at least SAP release 4.0B
One way to find user exits applicable for a given SAP screen. From the SE38 screen, enter the desired screen main program, and click Utilities > Find In Source Code, and "CUSTOMER-FUNCTION" as the text to search for. This will give you a list of the user exits and where they are called from for all screens in the module pool.
Note: format of ABAP statement is CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '009', for example. This is the statement called by a submodule attached to the main program.
Actual related function is EXIT_SAPLCOIH_009, for example. This example refers to customer function 9 in main program SAPLCOIH. Not all user exit functions are names as such, but this is the usual format.
If you are doing data validation and want to set an error message with a field open, you must be sure that the user exit you are using is linked to a calling module in the PAI section of the screen and the field you wish to be open was in the CHAIN statement which caused the PAI module to be invoked.
If you use a customer function which was invoked by a PBO module to validate data, the "MESSAGE" statement will cause the screen to return with the desired message at the bottom, but with all screen fields closed for input.
When you make changes to the include module for a given customer function, you must regenerate the related function group before you will see the changes included in the screen behaviour.
    Procdedure 2:
Need to find user exits module-wise? Suppose we want to see the available sales module user exits. Go to transaction SE81. Click on SD, then click "edit" on the menu bar and choose select subtree. Click on "information system," Open Environment node, customer exits, and enhancements. Press F8 to get all the user exits for that module. In brief: SE81->SD->Select subtree->Information System->Envir->Exit Techniques->Customers exits->enhancements->Execute(F8)
    Procedure 3:
Display the program where you are searching for and exit and search for CALL CUSTOMER-EXIT
If you know the Exit name, go to transaction CMOD.
Choose menu Utillities->SAP Enhancements. Enter the exit name and press enter.

    BAdis:
These steps should enable you to find any BADI related to any transaction in a matter of minutes.
    Procedure 1:
    1) Go to the transaction SE37 to find your function module.
    2) Locate the function SXV_GET_CLIF_BY_NAME.
    3) Put a breakpoint there.
    4) Now open a new session.
    5) Go to your transaction. 6) At that time, it will stop this function.
    7) Double click on the function field EXIT_NAME.
    8) That will give you name of the BADI that is provided in your transaction.
    Business Add-Ins
    Procedure 2:
    1) Goto se24 (Display class cl_exithandler)
    2) Double click on the method GET_INSTANCE.
    3) Put a break point at Line no.25 (CASE sy-subrc).
    4) Now Execute SAP standard transaction
    5) Press the required button for which you need to write an exit logic, the execution will stop at the break point.
    6) Check the values of variable 'exit_name', it will give you the BADI name called at that time.
    7) This way you will find all the BADIs called on click of any button in any transaction
SAP Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) are one of the most important technologies used to adapt SAP software to specific requirements. BAdIs were introduced with Release 4.6 and replace function module exits. This technology is not limited to SAP applications. BAdI calls can be integrated in customer applications. These can then be enhanced by other customer applications. In the various SAP applications, BAdI calls are implemented at places where enhancements are appropriate.Business add-ins are enhancements to the standard version of the system. They can be inserted into the SAP System to accommodate user requirements too specific to be included in the standard delivery. Since specific industries often require special functions, SAP allows you to predefine these points in your software.
As with customer exits, two different views are available:
    · In the definition view, an application programmer defines exit points in a source that allow specific industry sectors, partners, and customers to attach additional coding to standard SAP source code, without having to modify the original object.
    · In the implementation view, the users of Business Add-Ins can customize the logic they need or use a standard solution, if one is available.
In contrast to customer exits, Business Add-Ins no longer assume a two-level infrastructure (SAP and customer solutions), but instead allow for a multi-level system landscape (SAP, country-specific versions, industry solutions, partner, customer, and so on). You can create definitions and implementations of Business Add-Ins at any level of the system landscape.SAP guarantees the upward compatibility of all Business Add-In interfaces. Release upgrades do not affect enhancement calls from within the standard software nor do they affect the validity of call interfaces. You do not have to register Business Add-Ins in SSCR.
The Business Add-In enhancement technique differentiates between enhancements that can only be implemented once and enhancements that can be used actively by any number of customers at the same time. In addition, Business Add-Ins can be defined according to filter values. This allows you to differentiate between Add-In implementations using the filter Country or other criteria.
The enhancement technique is set up in such a way that it is possible to define interfaces for ABAP soure code, screens, GUI interfaces, and tables. These allow customers to include their own enhancements in the standard. A single Business Add-In contains all of the interfaces necessary to implement a specific task.
BADI is just an object-oriented version of user-exit. Instead of entering program code into some function module (as in customer-exit), you define some class which has to implement predefined methods and those methods are fired at predefined points just like an old user-exit. Some BADI can have multiple independent implementations which is much better for software deployment as several developers can implement the same BADI independently. BADI/UserExists are used to enhance R/3 For customer Needs.
Actually there is no transaction to find when and where the BADI
    is called.
    1. You can see the BADI description to find why it is called.
    2. Once you implemented and activated the BADI, put some break points
in the BADI and see "where else used" option to check in what all
programs this BADI is called. In the ITS debug, when you are doing
the operation what exactly the BADI description tells, it will take
to the break points and you have to do manually debug the whole thing.
I know its bit difficult to do manual debug the whole thing, it
takes lot of time, but you have to be very patience when you are
    dealing with BADI's.
Transaction SE18 is the BADI equivalent of transaction SMOD
Transaction SE19 is the BADI equivalent of transaction CMOD .
To find the BADI to be implemented and then implement this via SE19.

  • User exit or badi for the iw32 for the subnetwrk/portn

    Hi All,
I got one requirement in PM Module, after making the changes in the PM work order using the transaction code IW 32 and clicking on u201CSAVEu201D button, then we need to fetch the u201CSettlement Receiveru201D values from Settlement Rule related to Account assignment category NTA and NTW. The fetched values from the Settlement Rule should be placed in u201CAdditional Datau201D tab in the field u201CSubnetwrk of/Oprtnu201D.
Could you please any one let me know we can achieve this by using the USER EXIT or BADI or any other.

    Jaya Sankar,
Have a look at IWO10009 (at save user-exit) and try entering this code to extract the settlement data:
    lv_text1 = '(SAPLKOBS)GT_COBRB_BUF[]'.
    ASSIGN (lv_text1) TO <fs_gt_cobrb_buf>.
If you get no values, then it means that the user has not entered the settlement screens. You therefore need to select the data from the database.
Then try using this code to update the header data:
    * NOTE: Be very careful when using this method - it is not recommended by SAP
    * get order header data (or use user-exit import data)
      call function 'CO_IH_GET_HEADER'
        importing
          caufvd_imp = lv_caufvd.
    * do your own processing here
    * set order header data
      call function 'CO_IH_SET_HEADER'
        exporting
          caufvd_imp = lv_caufvd.
      perform caufv_upd(saplcobh) using lv_caufvd.

  • What are the User Exits for Sales Order creation process?

    Hi,
what are the User Exits for Sales Order creation process? how can I find them?
    thanks in advance,
    will reward,
    Mindaugas

    Please check this info:
User Exits In Sales Document Processing
This IMG step describes additional installation-specific processing in sales document processing. In particular, the required INCLUDES and user exits are described.
    Involved program components
System modifications for sales document processing affect different areas. Depending on the modification, you make the changes in the program components provided:
    MV45ATZZ
For entering metadata for sales document processing. User-specific metadata must start with "ZZ".
    MV45AOZZ
For entering additional installation-specific modules for sales document processing which are called up by the screen and run under PBO (Process Before Output) prior to output of the screen. The modules must start with "ZZ".
    MV45AIZZ
For entering additional installation-specific modules for sales document processing. These are called up by the screen and run under PAI (Process After Input) after data input (for example, data validation). The modules must start with "ZZ".
    MV45AFZZ and MV45EFZ1
For entering installation-specific FORM routines and for using user exits, which may be required and can be used if necessary. These program components are called up by the modules in MV45AOZZ or MV45AIZZ.
User exits in the program MV45AFZZ
The user exits which you can use for modifications in sales document processing are listed below.
    USEREXIT_DELETE_DOCUMENT
This user exit can be used for deleting data which was stored in a separate table during sales document creation, for example, if the sales document is deleted.
For example, if an additional table is filled with the name of the person in charge (ERNAM) during order entry, this data can also be deleted after the sales order has been deleted.
The user exit is called up at the end of the FORM routine BELEG_LOESCHEN shortly before the routine BELEG_SICHERN.
    USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION
This user exit can be used to modify the attributes of the screen fields.
To do this, the screen fields are allocated to so-called modification groups 1 - 4 and can be edited together during a modification in ABAP. If a field has no field name, it cannot be allocated to a group.
The usage of the field groups (modification group 1-4) is as follows:
Modification group 1: Automatic modification with transaction MFAW
Modification group 2: It contains 'LOO' for step loop fields
Modification group 3: For modifications which depend on check tables or on other fixed information
Modification group 4: is not used
The FORM routine is called up for every field of a screen. If you require changes to be made, you must make them in this user exit.
This FORM routine is called up by the module FELDAUSWAHL.
See the Screen Painter manual for further information on structuring the interface.
    USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBAK
Use this user exit to assign values to new fields at sales document header level. It is described in the section "Transfer of the customer master fields into the sales document".
The user exit is called up at the end of the FORM routine VBAK_FUELLEN.
    USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBAP
Use this user exit to assign values to new fields at sales document item level. It is described in the section "Copy customer master fields into the sales document".
The user exit is called up at the end of the FORM routine VBAP_FUELLEN.
    USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBEP
Use this user exit to assign values to new fields at the level of the sales document schedule lines.
The user exit is called up at the end of the FORM routine VBEP_FUELLEN.
    USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBKD
Use this user exit to assign values to new fields for business data of the sales document. It is described in the section "Copy customer master fields into sales document".
The user exit is called up at the end of the FORM routine VBKD_FUELLEN.
    USEREXIT_NUMBER_RANGE
Use this user exit to define the number ranges for internal document number assignment depending on the required fields. For example, if you want to define the number range depending on the sales organization (VKORG) or on the selling company (VKBUR), use this user exit.
The user exit is called up in the FORM routine BELEG_SICHERN.
    USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMK
Use this user exit if you want to include and assign a value to an additional header field in the communication structure KOMK taken as a basis for pricing.
    USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMP
Use this user exit if you want to include or assign a value to an additional item field in the communication structure KOMP taken as a basis for pricing.
    USEREXIT_READ_DOCUMENT
You use this user exit if further additional tables are to be read when importing TA01 or TA02.
The user exit is called up at the end of the FORM routine BELEG_LESEN.
    USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT
Use this user exit to fill user-specific statistics update tables.
The user exit is called up by the FORM routine BELEG-SICHERN before the COMMIT command.
    Note
If a standard field is changed, the field r185d-dataloss is set to X. The system queries this indicator at the beginning of the safety routine. This is why this indicator must also be set during the maintenance of user-specific tables that are also to be saved.
    USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE
Use this user exit to make certain changes or checks immediately before saving a document. It is the last possibility for changing or checking a document before posting.
The user exit is carried out at the beginning of the FORM routine BELEG_SICHERN.
User exits in the program MV45AFZA
    USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_KOMKD
Use this user exit to include or assign values to additional header fields in the communication structure KOMKD taken as a basis for the material determination. This is described in detail in the section "New fields for material determination".
    USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_KOMPD

    User exits in the screens
Additional header data is on screen SAPMV45A 0309, additional item data on screen SAPMV45A 0459. These screens contain the Include screens SAPMV45A 8309 or SAPMV45A 8459 as user exits.
Fields which are also to be included in the sales document for a specific installation should be included on the Include screens for maintaining. If an application-specific check module is needed for the fields, this can be included in the Include MV45AIZZ. The module is called up in the processing logic of the Include screens.
For field transports, you do not have to make changes or adjustments.
    Example
A new field, VBAK-ZZKUN, should be included in table VBAK.
If the check is defined via the Dictionary (fixed values or check table) the field must be included with the fullscreen editor in the Include screen SAPMV45A 8309. In this case, no change has to be made to the processing logic.

  • User exit for additional data B for sale order item .

    Hi., all
    my client requirement is
(  This business requirement will make the Last Price for a given item be visible during order entry.  )
u2022Retrieve & display during order entry, the most recent unit price given to a customer for a specific item, from the Billing data.
. Display the Last Price under Additional Data B Screen
add new field (last extended price) in additional data b screen.
after that 1.     Using the Sales Order Material Number (VBAP-MATNR), Sales Order Sales Organization (VBAK-VKORG), Sales Order Distribution Channel (VBAK-VTWEG), Sales Order Division (VBAK-SPART), Sales Order Sold-to Number (VBPA-KUNNR for VBPA-PARVW=u2019AGu2019) to access the Billing Items By Material Index Table (VRPMA) and specify a billing date (VRPMA-FKDAT) of less than 60 days from current Sales Order requested delivery date (if specified at header VBAK-VDATU or at the schedule line level (VBEP-EDATU).  This will result in all the billing documents where the Sold-to bought the item but isnu2019t completely refined as of yet.  Retain the billing document (VRPMA-VBELN), item (VBPMA-POSNR), and billing date (VRPMA-FKDAT) in a temporary table to pass to number 2 as the input.
    2.     Use the billing document (VRPMA-VBELN) and item (VRPMA-POSNR) to read the Sales Document Partners Table (VBPA) where the partner function (VBPA-PARVW = u201CSHu201D) and the Sales Order Ship-To (VBPA-KUNNR for VBPA-PARVW=u2019WEu2019) to select ONLY billing documents that are for that given ship-to location.  This filters out only billing documents relevant for that ship-to location.
    3.     From the resulting list of billing documents, select the most recent date (VRPMA-FKDAT) which will refine the search for the last Billing Document (VRPMA-VBELN) and item (VRPMA-POSNR).
    4.     Using the most recent Billing Document (VBPA-VBELN), access the Billing Document Item Table (VBRP). To result in the Last Extended Price as VBRP-KZWI1.
    5.     This price will be an extended price which needs to be calculated as a u2018unit priceu2019.  For this billing item, select the sales unit (VBRP-VRKME) to determine if the sales unit is in cases or eaches.
    a.     If the unit of measure is in cases, then simple math is required to divide the Last Extended Price (VBRP-KZWI1) by the billing quantity (VBRP-FKIMG).  Standard rounding should apply when .005 results in a .01.
    how to achive this ?

    Hi Chakravarthy,
use the Exits provided in SAPMV45A -includes MV45*ZZ and screen exits as well 8309 8310 8459, 8460. Just be sure to
use zznnnnnn include in the SAP provided forms instead of coding directly in the forms.
You can check below user exits:
MV45ATZZ :For entering metadata for sales document processing. User-specific metadata must start with "ZZ".
    MV45AOZZ:
For entering additional installation-specific modules for sales document processing which are called up by the screen and run under PBO (Process Before Output) prior to output of the screen. The modules must start with "ZZ".
    MV45AIZZ:
For entering additional installation-specific modules for sales document processing. These are called up by the screen and run under PAI (Process After Input) after data input (for example, data validation). The modules must start with "ZZ".
    MV45AFZZ and MV45EFZ1:
For entering installation-specific FORM routines and for using user exits, which may be required and can be used if necessary. These program components are called up by the modules in MV45AOZZ or MV45AIZZ.

  • Sales Order User Exits - configurable materials !?

I have been tasked with investigating the following issue and if it can be solved via ABAP/User Exits. Users in an already live system are entering Sales Orders ( VA01 )with multiple Configurable Material line items and have to repeatedly enter the same characteristic values in each line item ( by entering Item Details >> Configuration ). They want to enter a set of characteristic values in the first line item and then have them defaulted into any further items. I have looked at the standard user exits in particular USEREXIT_MOVE_WORKAREA_TO_SDWA. Has anybody attempted anything similar to this !? Any ideas ?
    Possible issues are:
    1. How do I find the characterictic values from the 1st line item. ie. they haven't been saved yet, are they in a temp area similar to XVBAP for normal sales order line items !?
    2. Are there are any suitable user exits in the Configuration side of things ( Function Group CEI0 !? ) to effect any changes the defaults. There are some BADIs in the code but they are not yet in use !?

    Hi Jonathan!
I had a different requirement with sales orders and configuration, but this forced me into long debugging of behavior of all these exits.
    1) Characteristics can't be read.
ad 1) in configuration it's possible to call function modules. Here (inside the configuration) values of characteristics are available and can be saved in global data of a Z-function module. This is later (in same transaction) available (like import/export).
    2) I would propose to use functions of characteristics (as mentioned, it's possible to execute own function modules in configuration). It's possible to default values (meaning: output of your function is only done, if characteristic is not set) based on global data of Z-function module.
As long as a global memory is used, no interaction with other transactions has to be feared.
You don't need user exits (but a lot of coding).
You need to change the customizing of configuration - probably a huge task, because I guess you have a huge configuration (otherwise users wouldn't ask for maintenance help).

    Christian

  • USER EXITS Vs CUSTOMER EXITS

    Hi all,
can any one clearly explain me the diff between user exits & customer exits.....
    points will b rewarded .....
    Thank You.
    Regards,
    Prashanth.

    Hi Prashanth Polsani  ,
Difference between user exits & customer exits:
User exit - A user exit is a three character code that instructs the system to access a program during system processing.
SXX: S is for standard exits that are delivered by SAP.   XX represents the 2-digit exit number.
UXX: U is for user exits that are defined by the user.  XX represents the 2-digit exit number
Customer exit - The R/3 enhancement concept allows you to add your own functionality to SAP’s standard business applications without having to modify the original applications. SAP creates customer exits for specific programs, screens, and menus within standard R/3 applications. These exits do not contain any functionality. Instead, the customer exits act as hooks. You can hang your own add-on functionality onto these hooks.
The following document is about exits in SAP :-
The R/3 enhancement concept allows you to add your own functionality to SAP’s standard business applications without having to modify the original applications.
SAP creates user exits for specific programs, screens, and menus within standard R/3 applications. These exits do not contain any functionality. Instead, the customer exits act as hooks. You can hang your own add-on functionality onto these hooks.
    Types of Exits
There are several different types of user exits. Each of these exits acts as hooks where you can attach or "hang" your own add-ons.
    Menu Exits
Menu exits add items to the pulldown menus in standard SAP applications. You can use these menu items to call up your own screens or to trigger entire add-on applications.
SAP creates menu exits by defining special menu items in the Menu Painter. These special entries have function codes that begin with "+" (a plus sign). You specify the menu item’s text when activating the item in an add-on project.
    Screen Exits
Screen exits add fields to screens in R/3 applications. SAP creates screen exits by placing special subscreen areas on a standard R/3 screen and calling a customer subscreen from the standard screen’s flow logic.
    Function Module Exits
Function module exits add functions to R/3 applications. Function module exits play a role in both menu and screen exits.
When you add a new menu item to a standard pull down menu, you use a function module exit to define the actions that should take place once your menu is activated.
Function module exits also control the data flow between standard programs and screen exit fields. SAP application developers create function module exits by writing calls to customer functions into the source code of standard R/3 programs.
These calls have the following syntax:
    CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION ‘001’.
    Field Exits
Field exits allow you to create your own programming logic for any data element in the Dictionary. You can use this logic to carry out checks, conversions, or business-related processing for any screen field.  Example: The data element BBBNR identifies a company’s international location number. You might want to set up your R/3 System so that all international location numbers are larger than 100.
The field exit concept lets you create a special function module that contains this logic.
You assign the special function module to the data element BBBNR. You then assign the module to any programs and screens in which users can add new international location numbers. When you activate your field exit, the system automatically triggers your special routine whenever a user enters a company location number.
In 4.6c, you can use "RSMODPRF" program to create field exits.
An example of a user exits :-
    MODULE user_exit_0001 INPUT
        CASE okcode.
            WHEN 'BACK OR EXIT'.
                CASE sy-dynnr.
                        WHEN '100'.
                             SET SCREEN 0.
                             LEAVE SCREEN.
                        WHEN '200'.
Note that you can write any code that satisfy your needs.                                                     ****
But in this case, this was wrote as a sample code for reference sake.                                    ****
And you can test it.                                                                                ****
                             SET SCREEN 100.
                             LEAVE SCREEN.
                 ENDCASE.
          ENDCASE.
As with customer exits two different views are available:
In the definition view, an application programmer predefines exit points in a source that allow specific industry sectors, partners, and customers to attach additional software to standard SAP source code without having to modify the original object.
In the implementation view, the users of Business Add-Ins can customize the logic they need or use a standard logic if one is available.
USER-EXITS can be used only one time.
Ex:- if your assigning a USER-EXIT to a project in (CMOD), then you can not assign the same to other project.

  • User exit  vs customer exit

    Hi experts ,
i am confusing user exit and customer exit plz give good diffrence and where we use these exits
    thanks and advance

    Hi,
User exit - A user exit is a three character code that instructs the system to access a program during system processing.
The program for transaction VA01 Create salesorder is SAPMV45A
If you search for CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION i program
SAPMV45A you will find ( Among other user exits):
    CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '003'
    exporting
    xvbak = vbak
    xvbuk = vbuk
    xkomk = tkomk
    importing
    lvf_subrc = lvf_subrc
    tables
    xvbfa = xvbfa
    xvbap = xvbap
    xvbup = xvbup.
The exit calls function module EXIT_SAPMV45A_003
    Development
Creating a Project to include the enhancement
    1. Go to transaction CMOD and create a project.
    2. Enter a description for the project. Then, click on the pushbutton ‘Enhancement Assignments’ in the Application Toolbar.
    3. Enter the name of the enhancement and Save.
    4. Go to ‘Components’.
    Creating Custom Include for ANLU
The screen shown below will appear, showing all the enhancement components under the assignment AIST0002. Double-click on the name of the Include Structure to create it.
Create the include structure with three new fields, as required. Then, save and activate it.
Develop the subscreen and the program
Go to transaction SE80. For the function group XAIS, create a new subscreen 9000.
    Create it as subscreen.
Then, go to the Layout of the screen and create three new fields from Database table ANLU.
Drag the fields in the screen body and place them.
Then, save and activate the screen and come back to screen flow editor.
Create the PAI module to add validation for field “Location 2”, as required .
Activate the whole function group and come out.
Write code in the Function Exits to synchronize the programs
Now, code has to be written in the function modules EXIT_SAPLAIST_002 and EXIT_SAPLAIST_003 so that data flows to and fro between the main SAP program and custom subscreen program. For that, go back to transaction CMOD and change the function exits.
Write code in the function module EXIT_SAPLAIST_002 called once at the beginning of the transaction:
Write code in EXIT_SAPLAIST_003 to pass the data from the subscreen to SAP main program.
Then, activate everything – the whole project and come out.
Complete the configuration to link the subscreen
The development portion is complete. Now, linking of the subscreen has to be done with the subscreen area of the main program. In most of the cases, this linking can be done in the enhancement itself. But, here, requirement is a bit different. It is done by configuration using SPRO.
Assets are created under Asset class. And for each asset class, there is a layout assigned to it. For a layout, there are multiple tab pages assigned to it. And, for each tab page, there are multiple screen groups/field groups assigned.
Here, the requirement is to create these three custom fields in the tab page ‘General’ of asset master screen ( AS01/AS02/AS03/AS91).
    Determine the Layout
To achieve this, first of all, we need to find out which layout is assigned to asset class 1000.For that, go to transaction AOLK( information has to be obtained from functional consultant).Select the Asset Class ‘1000’ and click on folder ‘General Assignment of Layout’.
Here, for Asset class 1000, for all the user groups, tab layout SAP is assigned. Since layout ‘SAP’ cannot be changed, it has to be copied and manipulated to include our screen group. Later, the new layout has to be assigned over here.
    Create new tab layout
Go to transaction AOLA. Copy the tab layout ‘SAP’ to create another layout, say, YSUB.
System will copy all the settings and will inform you about that.
Select your newly created layout and double-click on the folder ‘Tab page titles’.
You want to put your custom fields in the tab page “General”. So, select this tab page entry and double-click on the folder "Position of Groups".
Here, all the field groups currently residing in the tab-page “General” are shown. Add an entry for your newly created fields.
Select the group box from the list. An entry will come with “U” padded with the custom subscreen prepared by you.
    Then, save and come out.
Assign the new Layout to Asset Class
Now, go to tcode AOLK and assign tab layout YSUB for asset class 1000.
    Save and come out.
    Test the Exit
Everything is over. Now, go to transaction code AS01/02/03 or AS91 to deal with an asset of asset class 1000. You will see your new fields added to the screen. Add values to them…save. Then, enter into the tcodes again to see whether the values entered by you are being displayed or not.

  • Dump is thrown for tcode ko88 in User Exit EXIT_SAPLKEDRCOPA_001 in ECC 6.0

    Thanks in advance.
    Its very urgent.
In the User Exit EXIT_SAPLKEDRCOPA_001 an import variable I_COPA_ITEM is declared in the import parameter without any type def. So during run time the data object takes the structure of the exported variable. This works fine in the previous versions. But in ECC 6.0 it throws a dump saying that the data object cannot be converted in a unicode enabled program.
What can be done to over come the problem?
    Thanks again

    Hi!
So i_copy_item could be a number or a character variable - 1 or 2-byte representation. Looks like your implementation has to be of type any, too. With some field symbols (of type any) this should be possible (and at least the syntax check won't understand the coding any longer and does not complain any more

    Hi,
Follow this steps, you will get the exact BADI.
    1.     Go to the TCode SE24 and enter CL_EXITHANDLER as object type.
    2.     In 'Display' mode, go to 'Methods' tab.
    3.     Double click the method 'Get Instance' to display it source code.
    4.     Set a breakpoint on 'CALL METHOD cl_exithandler => get_class_name_by_interface'.
    5.     Then run your transaction.
    6.     The screen will stop at this method.
    7.     Check the value of parameter 'EXIT_NAME'. It will show you the BADI for that transaction.
