User signature with security product configuration - Reg.

Dear Experts,
We got a requirement in Digital signature. Requirement is whenever result recording, UD for inspection lot, system should access external security product for user signature.
I would like to know the configurations steps required for the above said from QM point of view.
Expecting your valuable reply. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Kumar

You should read the configuration notes in SPRO. It explains a lot about setting this up.
In SPRO:
Cross-Application Components>General Application Functions>Digital Signatures
Define Basis Settings
Specify Signature Method for Approval Using Simple Signature
Signature Strategy
Define Authorization Groups
Define Individual Signatures
Define Signature Strategies
Read the notes on each item. Setting up an exteranl verification system is talk about in the section "Specify Signature Method for Approval Using Simple Signature".
Good luck!

• User experience with secure MIDP connections

Since MIDP 2.0 allows for secure SSL connections to a host, I was wondering whether there is a way to show the user that a secure connection is being used. In other words, what is the MIDP equivalent of the closed padlock that we're used to in a browser when we use https.
Is there any standard for this? Is it all up to the device manufacturer? Do any of them show the user this type of information?
Sander Smith

So you think that if you had some padlock or anything else on the phone you would be 100% sure you are not communicating with a hacker? Beneath all this you are doing the same thing: using https for example; so if a third party would eavesdrop on this, no matter what you show, it will still be 'invisible' to you, to the application or to the bank (mostly).
I believe that if the client knows that by using this application he will be using a secure connection every time he sends or receives sensitive data, that would be enough; it is up to you to enforce a powerful encryption.
Now, if you, for example, use the phone's browser to go to a secure web site, then you could see if indeed the phone shows some sign that it uses a secure connection.

• ISA user admin with CRM Productivity Pack

Hello,
We have deployed the Business Productivity Package for CRM on EP 6.0 S09 and am having some trouble connecting some of the iViews to our backend SAP CRM 4.0 instance. ISA is also installed on the same J2EE as the Portal as per an SAP note.
I have configured the XCM for ISAUSERADM properly as I believe, chosing the "isauseradmWithPortal" option under application configurations. The JCO test shows all green as well to the backend SAP CRM System.
There is one iView called "Users" which, we presume, will enable the managing of users in the backend SAP CRM system. The iView's key property is "/useradmin/preparemain.do" and when we execute it the response is one of three at random:
1. just blank page
2. Runtime Errors please contact administrator with link to /isauseradm/useradmin/init.do
3. Your session is no longer valid. Log on again. with a link to http://tekteam.wdf.sap.corp:1080/isa.40.consISA.htm
I am unable to find any documentation on this or discussion threads and would greatly appreciate any help here.

Facing the same issue..but I am getting "Your session is not valid. Login again".
Any thoughts on this will greatly appreciated.

• NSU with security products

Hi
Have had the following message from the Software update team.
regards
Ajak
Dear Updaters,
All posts and comments on this board are read and we use your valuable feedback to help improve our products and services. There are two areas I'd like to cover today:
F-Secure
We have received some reports that the firewall application "F-Secure Internet Security 2005" may prevent Nokia Software Updater from operating properly. There is nothing wrong with either of these applications - just a conflict of interest.
To overcome this conflict, we suggest changing your F-Secure firewall internet security level by the following steps:
1) Start / Programs / F-Secure Internet Security 2005 / Open F-Secure Internet Security 2005
2) Click "Home" button on the left side.
3) Find "Internet Shield" item on the right pane.
4) Click "Change..." link on the same line.
5) Change security level to "Normal" or lower.
6) Click OK, click Close.
Security Code
After updating your device with the Nokia Software Updater, many parameters (including device security code) are reset to default. The default device security code is 12345.
We continue to welcome all feedback on this or any other feature of the Nokia Software Updater.

Hi John,
The HyTrust Appliance has been deployed into a number of customers (including a bank that just purchased the product last month). HyTrust is different than Altor or Catbird in that it addresses the security and compliance needs at the platform layer for access to the actual VMware ESX hosts and and Cisco Nexus 1000v switches providing access control, policy enforcement, segregation of duties, audit logging, and host hardening. This is especially important as organizations move their machines into a managed services multi-tenant environment where various groups need to share access to a common platform.
Altor and Catbird focus on guest security making sure the workloads are in compliance with established security policies and standards. There are a lot of players in this space such as Host Based Intrusion Prevention Systems (HIPS) offerings from TrendMicro, Symantec, and McAfee too.

• Migrate users problem with security answers

Hi,
we are trying to mograte users from an old IDM system to a new one,
we want to export/import the user list, but we have a problem with the security answers since they are encrypted and we don't know the best way to move them.
could you please help? the old IDM is v 6 and new one is 8.1 (already running with customizations and different user set)
Thanks

the easiest way:
1. export/import the encryption keys in the new installation.
2. export/import the q/a policies, orgs, and make sure your maintain their exact same object IDs.
3. export/import users , and make sure their answers' IDs match whatever exist in the new installation.

• Can I apply electronic signatures to secured PDF's and hide them?

Hello,
I currently have our product datasheets on secured PDF's (approximately 40,000 of them). We post these datasheets directly onto our website.
What I am looking to do is to have 3 people electronically sign-off on each of these datasheets, before they are posted on our website -- however I do not want these signatures visible to the public.
Thus, can I use electronic signatures with secured PDF's? And can I hide these signatures?
Also, I have watched some of Adobe's videos as it pertains to group editing. Do you have any recommendations for more resources regarding this? How would I make sure that "Jim" doesn't sign something with "John"'s name?

When they cannot be opened I forget what it says. That's not much help I know. File not found or something like that. I can open an attachment from an e-mail see it, then save it to my computer and e-mail it to someone and they won't be able to read it. I will go back and check on it and sure enough I can't open it again. Frustrating.

• Error while configuring external LDAP user store with weblogic

Hi,
I have weblogic 10.3 installed and I can access weblogic admin console using weblogic (admin) user. I want to use external ldap user store to access admin console with users present in external ldap.
To do this, I have configured authentication provider and provided all the required details to connect to ldap.
For example:
Base DN: cn=admin,cn=Administrators,cn=dscc (user with which we will connect to LDAP)
User DN: ou=People,dc=test,dc=com
Group DN: ou=Groups,dc=test,dc=com
This authentication provider is set to SUFFICIENT mode. I have deleted the default authentication provider.
In the boot.properties file I have given the user name and password of the user with which LDAP instance was created something like below.
password=xxxxxxx
username=admin
Now while starting the admin weblogic server, I am getting the below error:

Can anyone please suggest how to resolve this problem? If, anyone can suggest the exact steps to configure external ldap store to manage admin console via ldap users.
Regards,
Neeraj Tati.

Hi,
Please refer the below content that I found for Oracle 11g in the docs.
"If an LDAP Authentication provider is the only configured Authentication provider for a security realm, you must have the Admin role to boot WebLogic Server and use a user or group in the LDAP directory. Do one of the following in the LDAP directory:
By default in WebLogic Server, the Admin role includes the Administrators group. Create an Administrators group in the LDAP directory, if one does not already exist. Make sure the LDAP user who will boot WebLogic Server is included in the group.
The Active Directory LDAP directory has a default group called Administrators. Add the user who will be booting WebLogic Server to the Administrators group and define Group Base Distinguished Name (DN) so that the Administrators group is found.
If you do not want to create an Administrators group in the LDAP directory (for example, because the LDAP directory uses the Administrators group for a different purpose), create a new group (or use an existing group) in the LDAP directory and include the user from which you want to boot WebLogic Server in that group. In the WebLogic Administration Console, assign that group the Admin role."
Now in my LDAP directory, setup is in such a way that Administrators is a group created under following heirarchy " cn=Administrators,ou=Groups,dc=test,dc=com" and there is one user added in this Administrators group.
The problem that I am having is when I modify the Admin role in which Administrators group should be added what exaclty I should give in Admin role. Whether I should give only Administrators or full DN: cn=Administrators,ou=Groups,dc=test,dc=com ???
When i give full DN, it takes every attribute as different, i mean cn=Administrators as different and ou=Groups as different and shows a message that cn=Administrators does not exist.
Here not sure what to do.
Also if external ldap authentication provider is the only provider then I need to give the user information in boot.properties file also for weblogic to boot properly. Now, what should I give there in user? still complete DN ??
Regards,
Neeraj Tati.

• I just updated my MacBook pro early 2011 model to OSX 10.9 and was forced to create a new user(administrator) and ended up with a different configuration. If I login with my original user name everything is back. How can I get rid of the other user name?

I have two user names with Administrator privelages and my MacBook keeps booting up to the wrong one and I have the wrong configuration since I updated to OSX 10.9. I would like to get back to my original User name which I used to boot up to. When I go to the User Groups and Preferences it doesn't allow me to delete the un-wanted user.
Does anybody have any suggestions how I can fix this? I can't seem to recover Time Capsule back-ups prior to the OSX upgrade even though I have been faithfully backing up to a Time Machine.
Help please.

First of all, open System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Options, and set your old user account in "Automatic login". By doing this, your computer will always log in with your old account.
Then, log in your old account, where you will be able to delete the new user that OS X Mavericks forced you to create. Other users have reported the same problem

• Verify custom plugin signature with Adobe Default Security

Hi,
I have a few questions using Adobe Default Security when verifying a signature.
I've created my own signing plugin which works well. When I verify my signature it states that it is a valid signature, that the document has not been altered and that the certificate is valid. When I remove my plugin and verify the signature with the Adobe Default Security it states that the signature is invalid and that the document has been altered or corrupted. When I use the DocSign sample plugin to verify my signature it states the the signature is unknown and that the integrety has not yet been verified.
My question are:
Why Adobe Default Security telling me the signature is invalid instead of unknown, like the DocSign example?
What can I do so that signature becomes unknown and not invalid when verified with Adobe Default Security?
Why is Adobe Default Security telling me the document has been altered or corrupted, when it has not been changed?
Regards,
Magda

As this can't be debugged without a copy of your plugin, files, etc. - you will need to open up a formal support ticket for this with our Developer Support.

Would really appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Sri

Hi Sri,
Would you pls check the installation of the security toolkit on your application server?
Which security product do you use?
The standard security product is SAPSECULIB (library sapsecu.dll).
Please check the SSF initialization messages which are contained in each dev_w## developer trace (transaction ST11). When successful, the initializaion messages look like this:
N =================================================
N === SSF INITIALIZATION:
N ===...SSF Security Toolkit name SAPSECULIB .
N ===...SSF trace level is 0 .
N ===...SSF library is /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run/sapsecu.dll .
N ===...SSF hash algorithm is SHA1 .
N ===...SSF symmetric encryption algorithm is DES-CBC .

• Digital Signatures with SmartCards.

Hi guys,
Has anyone implemented in R/3 digital signatures with smartcards?
Currently I'm at customer side trying to implement digital signatures within workflow processes using ABAP SSF functions. The smartcard devices are already installed, but I can't read the data inside the smartcard, moreover, I can't link the smartcard device with R/3 and I don't know how to do it…
I read in some Weblogs and documents that it is necessary a SAP-certified external security product. I believe this external security product is the software that comes inside of smartcard drivers CD. It is something like a little application on which we can sign in data and put our fingerprint.
I guess it is not supposed to develop an interface application between smartcard and R/3! When I started these developments I thought that I only needed to configure some environment variables to connect these devices with R/3 and then develop the ABAP flow logic with SSF Functions - Am I right?
Can anyone provide me some guidelines for this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Ricardo.

The SmartCard device is present at the frontend PC - and that's the place where the digital signature operation has to take place. Important is the "What You See Is What You Sign" principle: it has to be ensured that the data that is to be signed (using the private key stored on the SmartCard) is exactly the same as the one that is displayed to the user.
Notice: there is a different scenario where the server is signing the data (after prompting the user for userID and password and validating that information).
The signed data is then transported back to the server where it is stored (to ensure auditibility); usually you'll have to keep the (archived) data for years; the public key need to be archived as well.
Notice: it is possible to attach the certificate (-> public key) which has been used to sign the data to the signed data.

Agreed with all above pointers.
I think you have to raise SR with oracle, because it is prod environment.
If you still want to do some R&D.
1. Also check this URL might help, but not sure.

2. Restart all servers (along with Admin server and DB).

• Mexico Digital invoice - SSF without an External security product

Hi All,
We are in the process of implementing Digital Invoice for Mexico. I have few queries regarding this.
1. Can the digital signature be achieved with out any external security product ?
2. If it is possible, then will it comply with the legal requirements for Mexico.
I came across a SAP document wherein it was mentioned that "If you are using the user signature as the signature method, you require an external security product that is connected to your SAP system through SSF." Does it mean that SAP standard SAPSECULIB supports only system signature and not user signature ?
Any pointers regarding the digital Signature implementation steps will be appreciated.

Hi Sri,
Would you pls check the installation of the security toolkit on your application server?
Which security product do you use?
The standard security product is SAPSECULIB (library sapsecu.dll).
Please check the SSF initialization messages which are contained in each dev_w## developer trace (transaction ST11). When successful, the initializaion messages look like this:
N =================================================
N === SSF INITIALIZATION:
N ===...SSF Security Toolkit name SAPSECULIB .
N ===...SSF trace level is 0 .
N ===...SSF library is /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run/sapsecu.dll .
N ===...SSF hash algorithm is SHA1 .
N ===...SSF symmetric encryption algorithm is DES-CBC .
N ===...sucessfully completed.
N =================================================
General information for SAPSECULIB can be found in SAP note 354819.
Best regards,
Christoph
P.S.: Please reward points for useful information.
