Users missing when logged in using domain....

When I login to admin panel using allnaturalassets.businesscatalyst.com i see all of my customers.
When i login to the admin panel using allnaturalassets.com i only see about half of them.....
How do I resolve this anomoly?

You may have set a filter under one of those URLs for your contacts. Try checking your filters or clearing your browser cache and check again.

Smb share search when logged into AD domain.

Logged into the Local user account and mounting the share via Apple "K" we can search the share wonderfully, once we have enabled indexing.
But logged in as a network user you can't search for anything apart from files or folders which the user himself created, the drive does have indexing enabled but not sure how reliable the indexing is.
The users have full rights on the share, and it makes no difference if they are admin users or not on the Mac. The windows srver is 2003 all the Macs are running Tiger fully updated and the OD server is running Tiger also. We have tried easy find but the users feel that is too slow and not a viable option (they have vast numbers of folders in all sub folders on the share.
I also tried searchlight running on the OD server with the share index'd on there which worked fairly quickly but wasn't 100% reliable, again the unreliablity seemed to be with the users logged into the domain not the users logged in Locally.
Anyone with any ideas would be much appreciated

Hi SpaceBass, have you looked into sharepoints or into Netinfo manager. I have been playing around with sharepoints and it does let me enter non local users into the sharing prefs- albeit manually. Only thing is , depending on the number of macs you have, it could be a long and tedious job entering it all by hand. Netinfo may have an easier way, I'll do some more digging and post back.

Problem when logged in using a new created user

I'm implementing Single-Sign-On feature, i followed steps given in weblog
Integrating your Web Front-ends into the SAP Enterprise Portal using the Application Integrator
I created one portal user with the same name and password as my application requires and specified the same in User Mapping. Also I assigned this user content_admin_role.
When i logged in with this user and tried to open my iView, its shows this error:
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : N/A
Component Name : N/A
Access denied (Object: portal_content/com.sap.pct/admin.templates/iviews/editors/com.sap.portal.templateSelection).

Is there anythig I'm missing.

Step 1:
1.Go to System Administration - > Permissions
2. Go to Portal Content -> Your Folder (iViews, Workset, Roles, Systems)
3. Right click - > Open Permissions.
4. Give Permissions for the user for the iViews.
Note : Enable "End user " check box.
Step 2:
1. Go to System Admin -> System Config -> System Landscape
2. Go to Portal Content - > Your system
3. Right click - > Open Permissions.
4. Give Permissions for the user for the iViews.

In XP Infinity Blocks are missing when logged in as a user

On XP Computers when I am logger on as adminstrator there is no
problem. When my students are logged on as users, some of the
Infinity Blocks are missing.
For example on Ch 2.1 Sec 2.2 lab, the ITOGGLE Block is a question
mark. I can search and find it, but there is no way to add it the
VAB progam in place the question mark.

This problem is has to do with "security" (AKA file permissions) for some of the VAB files. I am not aware of what may have caused the problem. As the USER check to see what problem files exist. Then as the ADMINISTRATOR check the "Security" tab in the file's properties and you'll find that the USER is unable to modify/read/see/etc that file. Changing the setting to match one of the "OK" DLL block files should correct the problem. Alternatively you can run the command line script that the installer runs: cacls "C:\Program FIles\Hyperception\VABINF" /T /E /G Everyone:F Assuming you installed in the default directory, you should be able to drop to a command prompt and issue this command. It will scroll the name of every file in the given directory and all subdirectories. It should reset every file.

MacAir using AD for authentication. In AD, there is a network home assigned to that user. When logging into that account on the Mac, it takes 1-2 minutes after entering credentials, before displaying an error that it could not connect to it, every time.

In our AD, all users have a network home that is set (smb://home for example). For some of our Mac users using AD for authentication, there is a 1-2 minute delay between entering their credentials and the OS being presented. The OS does not present itself until the user dismisses the alert: "There was a problem connecting to server home".Local users on the same machines do not have that problem.
It remains in the dock as User's Network Home as a ? that I am unable to remove, and there is also a 'Unknown' in the log-in items for the user as well (that I am also unable to remove).

Administrator in parent domain has no administrator rights when logging into child domain systems.

We have a simple layout, parent domain in the office is foo.com, I've adding a child domain in the datacenter called prod.foo.com (we have machines with the same names in the office and production, not my doing :p) Prior to this all of our production
machines were standalone and various users just had the local administrator account, which has led to some problems.
Anyway, on to my issue;
I have a security group in foo.com called Production Logins that I've added myself to, and on the test windows 2003 server I've allowed FOO\Production Logins the ability to remote desktop, and I'm able to remote into the box web01.prod.foo.com
just fine, however; When I log into web01.prod.foo.com under my admin account in the parent domain, I only have basic user rights on that machine, not administrator rights. Shouldn't administrator rights carry over to the child domain for
my account? Is there something specific I need to do to allow that?

You also may want to check your iPad settings under General -> Keyboards -> International for a keyboard that can enter to correct characters if you are entering them from the iPad's keyboards. There are also some .99 apps that enable entering symbols and special characters directly on the iPad.

SPD2010 Custom activity asembly missing when wep app uses https (http works perfectly)

For a while now, we've been working with a custom workflow activity (http://spdwfextensions.codeplex.com/) in our SharePoint system. Today, we changed our web application from http access
to https. The change seemed to go without a hitch, until we checked our workflows and none which use the Custom activity will start (with status Failed to Start). If we opened the workflow in SPD2010, the lines with the custom action were replaced by
lines that read "Could not deserialize object. 'Nivlag.SpdGenericInterfaceActivity' The type could not be resolved.
The problem got weird when, while trying to debug it, we realized that if we used the old http connections the workflow worked perfectly once again (the workflows worked correctly as well as SPD 2010). As soon as we retried the https connection the
same issues reappeared.
We want to move to using SSL with all our WebApps, but right now, this situation is a total show-stopper.
Any helped would be deeply appreciated.

Please list detailed steps of how you changed web application from http access to https.
Few things to try:
1. Make sure AAM is set correctly for http and https sites.
2. You may need to add root cert of your SSL certificate to Central Admin->Security->Manage Trusts.

3. Clear client site proxy assembly cache for SPD workflow actions:
Clear the proxy assembly
cache on the machine where SharePoint Designer is installed. Delete all directories and files at %System Drive%\Documents and Settings\%user%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\WebSiteCache or for Vista %System Drive%\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WebSiteCache.

F:Dosmenu.bat missing when trying to use Bootcamp

I am trying to install Windows Vista on my Macbook using Bootcamp version 3.0.4. I partitioned the hardware, I have a legit copy of Windows Vista, everything works fine up until the actual reboot occurs. Once it reboots on the Windows Vista CD it tells me to press any key to start installing from the CD, and it looks like everything works until I get a message saying that F:Dosmenu.bat is missing. I don't know what that means, and I have absolutely no idea how to fix it. If anyone can help it would be appreciated. Thanks.

here you will get black screen with white letters and 2 sentences at least; type EXACTLY the upper first / enter and when finished the 2nd / enter.
or,
if the mbp starts "normal", download applejack and restart same way.
here you will get similar desktop and applejack will explain, what to do ..
choose the "a" (auto) possibility ..

Erasing User Data When Logging Off

At our office multiple people use different computers. I am looking to basically clear the desktop and erase saved PW's in saffri and chrome and such when the user loggs off.

The Guest account will auto-erase itself, so if that will be sufficient, you could try that.
(Guest is not simply an account name, it is a specific type of account that wipes itself at logout.)

Error when logging in using sqlplus

I installed client software on a Sun Solaris machine. I try connecting via sqlplus to the server which is Oracle 8i runnin on linux but when i type in the username and password i get:

Are you sure, it is ORA-12545?? I think
TNS-12545 Connect failed because target host or object does not exist
is your problem.
Look at your tnsnames.ora file if your hostname(IP Adress) is ok.

Trying to save multiple user IDs when logging into Bank America. When I click on save this ID, it only saves one ID. In IE, it saves both and gives a drop down when logging into BA.

In the Bank America login page, you can have multiple login IDs saved. When you come back, there is a drop down which shows all your IDs that you saved.
It saves the IDs in IE, but not in Firefox

Windows 2008 R2 intermittently getting access denied when logging in

Hi,
I recently built 2 new Virtual Machines. They both run on Hyper-V (version 6.2x).
One is Windows 2008 R2 standard and the other Windows 2008 R2 Datacenter. These are both remote desktop servers.
These are both connected to a domain.
The domain controller is linux/samba based, this will mimic the Windows NT4 style domain controller environment.
Within each Virtual Machine I have a remote desktop users group, that is a staff group.
Intermittently users get an access denied error when logging on. This only happens when logging on as domain users.
If this happened all the time, I might think the machine needed to be removed and re-added to the domain but as it's intermittent, I don't see the trust relationship as the problem.
Any ideas?

Before providing you some information, I would like to get some more information to resolve your issue.
- Have you notice any specific error when trying to remote login?
- Did you check GPO setting option “Allow log on through Remote Desktop Services”
As group policy and the user group are interrelated with each other. There are 2 types of user rights.
(1) Logon rights (2) Privileges
These two plays an important part in allowing an RDP session to the server. Also need to check in GPO Setting for more option.
a. Allow log on through Remote Desktop Services : Users\Group must be added for Remote Session
b. Deny log on through Remote Desktop Services : Users\Group must not be added for Remote Session
For checking the setting in GPO follow below path:
- Start > Run >gpedit.msc
- Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment
For more information, refer beneath article.
