Using a function as condition for conditional formatting

Hello,
I am trying to switch from Excel to Numbers and I'm having trouble figuring out the conditional formatting in Numbers. In Excel, cell(s) can be highlighted, font changed, etc based on a function linked to another cells value. That is, cells A1:A4 can be highlighted if cell A5 has a particular value or not. I can't figure out how to do this in Numbers. Is it possible?

I see a couple of problems here.
First, what you posted below is not a syntactically valid query. It seems to be part of a larger query, specifically, this looks to be only the GROUP BY clause of a query.

As you discovered, if you attempt to do so, you'll find it doesn't work. If you stop and think about how SQL is processed, it should make sense to you why the SQL is not valid.
If you want to apply a filter condition such as:
trunc(max(RD.DATERECEIVED)) BETWEEN TO_DATE('01/08/2011','DD/MM/YYYY') AND TO_DATE('01/08/2011','DD/MM/YYYY')you should do it in a HAVING clause, not a where clause:
select ....
from ....
where ....
group by ....

Is it possible to use repository variable in conditional formatting . if no then is there any workaround for implementing the same....
Also i came across a sql of an init block.. which goes like 'exec OracleBi..procedure_name'
Is 'OracleBi..' a keyword or something like that....

Init blk is calling any procedure here with name OracleBI here...no any specific significance.

Using Session Variable with Conditional Formatting Filter

Hi,
I'm trying to add a condition to my report in order to flag all opportunities that have a close date that is in the past. The way I'm trying to do this is by adding a condition to say when close date is less than current_date, flag the column with an image.
Issue I'm having is that the filter window within conditional format tab appears to not have the session variable option as you do when you create a filter on a column the normal way. A colleague told me to use an SQL expression, but again this option seems to be unavailable too within the conditional format tab.
Can anybody assist please?

Create a new column and write a CASE WHEN condition like case when close date < current_date then 'Y' ELSE 'N' END.
Then on your actual date column, you can do conditional analysis based on the newly created column for values having Y then the image.
finally, you can hide the newly created column.

How to use the functionality of Simulation for the Transaction MIRO

Hi Group,
I have a requirement to call SAP from MS Excel and check for the SImulation option as under:
The Excel will pass the values of Invoice Number, Posting date, PO number, PO Item number, Company code and etc., through the call of BAPI   -   'BAPI_INCOMINGINVOICE_CREATE' in order to create Invoice in the SAP system.
But the above BAPI is creating the Invoices in SAP system. Rather, I need to just check(thru SIMULATION) the records and come back to MS Excel with the MIRO numbers that will be created and the errror messages that will be returned back.
In summary, I have to add two Buttons as:
   POST : this has to create MIRO(invoice Numbers) in the SAP System(populating the Success/Error Messages by calling
               the above BAPI   - This functionality is working fine now
   SIMULATE: this has to do same functionality of "POST" option but should not create MIROs in the SAP system
                      Currently I am not able to achieve this as the above BAPI is creating MIROs in SAP.
Kindly provide your inputs on how to go about incorporating the above SIMULATION functionality, by giving some simulation BAPIs that can be used for my functionality.

In continuation to my previous posting, I would like to give more inputs as under:
when I was using the BAPI - BAPI_INCOMINGINVOICE_CREATE (unless I commit the transaction), MIRO would not be created in the system.
Now, when I run the BAPI again with a different set of data, the Invoice Number is getting incremented by one.... this I dont need, if the Invoice is not committed and if I run the next time, I need to get the same Invoice Number....
How can I achieve this task?

Using aggregate function along with for all entries: sugest alternative

My requirement:
For each record in i_vbap for which 'charg' is initial, need to determine batch using the following logic:
For the material (MATNR) in i_vbap, select the batch (CHARG) which has the largest (MAX) unrestricted inventory quantity (CLABS) from MCHB table.
How do I implement this logic without using select statement inside a loop as I cannot use MAX ( CLABS ) function along with FOR ALL ENTRIES in a SELECT?
Suggest an alternative.

For each record in i_vbap for which 'charg' is initial ,fetch all the existing 'clabs' value.
[ Remember to include all the key fields in selct ]
Sort the new table .
Put a loop,use at end of 'charg' and append to another table. U get ur solution
I think this should be the most economic way to do so.

You will have have to create two variables for each condition you have. One variable will be the "helper" and the other variable will be the "worker". For instance, create a variable called channel_x and the formula: =if(channel="haney";<metric>;0) (where "haney" is the name of your organization and <metric> is the metric you are using to count or sum things in your report). Once channel_x is saved create another variable called channel_x_count and the formula: =sum([channel_x]). Once channel_x_count is saved, then on your report towards the bottom you can use the Template bar to drag in a new table (perhaps you want to use the Horizontal Table type), and then you can drag channel_x_count into your new table. You will have to repeat the creations of more channel_x type variables (maybe call it channel_y and channel_y_count) or something more descriptive, but in any case substitute the "haney" constant for the next store you want to track, etc, etc.

Error using transferTo function on VMS for long files

Unfortunately this is an issue in the underlying driver for the USB device. It should be fixed in the next DAQ release.
One way you could work around this problem is by having a delay after the read and the next line of code.

Copying formatting from conditional formatting without the rules

I tend to use a lot of conditional formatting in my spreadsheets. Unfortunately, this leads to two problems:
1) I need more rules than are allowed (this seems to be related to the height of my screen... probably because the dialog box doesn't have a scrollbar)
2) This really, really slows things down, especially when combined with cell references, and particularly when I'm trying to rearrange cells (as far as I can see Numbers has a tendency to freeze and/or blank out the table I'm working on)
The easiest way I can see out of my predicament would be to somehow remove the conditional formatting rules while keeping the actual formatting... like copy-and-pasting values instead of the actual cells (with intact formulae). Is this possible? And if possible, how would I go about doing it?

Up to 15 rules can be set for conditional formating of a cell.
1)
Considering that the usual purpose of conditional formatting is to flag 'unusual' values, and to make the 'condition' instantly visible and recognizable, that seems an over generous number. If a cell or group of cells on your table 'needs' more than 15 possible formats (the base format and 15 others based on rules), perhaps what's needed is a re-thinking of why that many are needed, and whether having that many formats adequately answers that 'why'.
If you really do need that many, you can set then, even if your display height is filled with fewer than that. Additional rules may be inserted after any existing rule, not just the last one. note, though, that the conditions are evaluated in the order the rules are listed, from top to bottom, and the format is set by the first rule encountered whose condition is met.
2)
Not surprising. Numbers recalculates the entire table each time a value in the table is changed. That calculation includes through each list of conditional formatting rules until a match is found (or the end of the list is reached), and includes setting the new format for each affected cell.
3)
Not that I'm aware of. The base format of the cell may be copied (option-command-C) and pasted elsewhere (option-command-V), and that pair of operations will include any conditional format rules that had been set for the original cell.
But conditional formatting is just that—a set of rules that applies a set of attributes to a cell when a specific condition is met. The applied format exists only when the condition is met, and can't be copied except by copying the rule—actually the whole set of rules for that cell—which puts you no further ahead.
3a) You could, of course, change the base format of the cell to match the colour and style applied by the conditional rule, then clear the conditional format rules for that cell or set of cells. That would 'remove the rules while keeping the (applied) formatting', and would leave the formulas intact. seems to me a game not worth the candle, though.

Issue with use of Function Module GUI_UPLOAD

Hi Experts,
I have an issue in using the Function Module GUI_UPLOAD for uploading the contents of an Excel file on the Presentation Server to an internal table in an ABAP Program.
My file consists of around 300 records but the FM succeeds in uploading only the first 6 lines to the Internal Table specified while calling the FM.
I dont have any idea why this happens. Any pointers in this direction will be helpful.

How to use Time Function

I have two times say
2310, 0050 - How can I find out using java that the difference between these two is 100 minutes or 1 hour 40 minutes.
What libraries are used to find this out ??

Delete Functionality in WAD for IP

I have a Delete Button. Whenever a row is selected and Delete Button is clicked. It should delete values only selected row. but, in my case it is deleting values for all records.

In the definition of the planning function : Delete, mention the characteristics on which the delete shoudl take place.If the characteristic values are to be given at runtime, please assign the variables.
If no restriction is mentioned all the keyfigure values become zero.

Flash CC: use jQuery functions

I want to use jquery functions into flash for html5 game I am building. What I tried to do is add the following lines, and then use simple jquery function, but it seems not loaded, because I get the error: $ is not defined
My code, which is in the first frame of the main timeline, is:

As shown in line 9 of the code above, I wrote: console.log ($ (document) .height ());
I did not think, I needed to set the variable $, because jquery is already doing it. Is not it?
If I try to write the line: <script src = "http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.11.0.min.js"> </ script> within the <head> html file manually, then there is no problem and I get the height of the screen, even without defining the variable $.
Which brings me to the conclusion that, although the line was written in the file, as you can see in the console log, but it still does not start ...
The problem is, if I write the line in the html file manually, when I do publish .fla file, Flash CC erases the line and everything was written by hand. So I thought to write the above code from the first frame of the timeline.
Is there a better way?
And yet - why the above code tweaks error message?
