Using Ant to deploy manually

Hi,
I am hoping that someone can point to the correct documentation regarding using Ant to compile and deploy a BPEL process.
I am attempting to deploy a BPEL flow in a test environment from the command line. I have copied the BPEL flow project to the BPEL SOA server (HP Linux, BPEL version 10.1.3.1), but I do not think I have my environment variables set up correctly.
What environment variables need to be defined? Also, in the ant command syntax how do I specify the revision/version number of the flow?
The following is transcript from a session showing the various errors and the variables I have set:
[bpel@omv1rrm2 test]$ ant
-bash: ant: command not found
[bpel@omv1rrm2 test]$ export PATH=$PATH:$BPEL/ant/bin
[bpel@omv1rrm2 test]$
[bpel@omv1rrm2 test]$ ant

You need to set bpel_home, oracle_home and ant_home, add you ant home/bin directory to PATH. Also add all the required jar files in classpath. Then you can run your ant command.
For bpel process revision, in build.xml pls check the sections "Compiling bpel process ${process.name}, revision ${rev}" and "eploying bpel process ${process.name} on ${http.hostname}, port ${http.port}" for compiling and deploying bpel processes. In that section the revision is read from property ${rev} and it is read from your build.properties(or you build property) file.
I could not find specific documentation that I can point you out. Perhaps the previous discussions in this forum can help you more to achieve your task.

  • Using ANT to deploy Applications in WebLogic

    Hi,
    I am currently using Ant1.4 as my build tools. However, when I am looking for
    some tasks to deploy the ear into WebLogic 6.1, I only find the task for war and
    ejb-jar and ear.
    Do you know of any Bea supported Ant tasks to actually deploy into BEA (i.e.,
    that will take care of the entire depolyment process .... without any human intervention
    -- from packaging all the way to full deployment)
    Thanks in advance
    Cheers
    Herry.

    Examples that comes with WLS6.1, all the task from compiling the source to
    the
    packaging the application is done thru ant.
    ( finally it copies the application into the "applications" directory. Only
    thing is left is to
    start the WLS 6.1 )

  • How to deploy jar file in WLS using ant script

    Hi,
    Im trying to deploy a jar file in weblogic 10.3 using ant script and am running into the below error.
    +[wldeploy] weblogic.management.DeploymentException: [J2EE:160177]The application at "/u01//RSJBObjects.jar" was not recognized as a valid application type. If this is an EAR file, please ensure the META-INF/application.xml exists. EJB-JARs should have a META-INF/ejb-jar.xml or corresponding annotations exist. If this is an exploded WAR, the name of directory must be end with ".war". RARs require a META-INF/ra.xml. A JMS deployment should be an XML file whose name ends with "-jms.xml". A JDBC deployment should be an XML file whose name ends with "-jdbc.xml". For other application types, please consult the WebLogic Server documentation.+
    When i try to deploy the same manually from the console, i get a warning stating that WLS thought this as a library and hence proceeding to deploy as a library. After this warning the deployment continues and completes.
    Problem is when i try to deploy using ant, it breaks at this point.
    Is there any means that we can deploy a jar to WLS using ant script. This has to be deployed as a library as other apps would be using this jar.
    Im unable to create a ear file for this single jar file.
    If there is any suggestion on can this be done, please share.
    Thanks,
    Vijay.

    Hi Sunil,
    Thanks for the reply, it worked.
    Another doubt on the same lines. Now that the jar has been deployed as a library in WLS, when i try to deploy a WAR which refers to this deployed jar library, im unable to. I run into and error stating that the library is inaccessible.
    I have to bounce the server and before doing that, i have to manually copy the library.jar from <WLS_domain>/servers/AdminServer/upload/ directory to <WLS_domain>/lib/ directory, once copied i then try to deploy the WAR, then the deployment goes fine.
    Is there any means that this deployed library jar be made available soon after deployment and also to avoid copying the file.
    Thanks,
    Vijay.

  • Deploying servlet on Tomcat using "ant install" not working. Please help.

    Hello. Normally I can find answers by using search, but I can't today for some reason. So please bare with me if this has been mentioned before. I will try to provide as much info as possible so that helping me isn't too much a chore. Thank you.
    I have downloaded and installed the JWSDP 1.3. and Tomcat is running. I am also using Ant 1.5.4 (previous installation - not one included with JWSDP) and modeled my build.xml file after the template provided here:
    http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-5.0-doc/appdev/build.xml.txt.
    When I run ant on my respository, everything builds fine. But when I run Ant with the install target, I get the following error:
    BUILD FAILED
    file:C:/owl/build.xml:366: java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response co

    ...which is included in this block for the target "install":

    username="${manager.username}"
    password="${manager.password}"
    path="${app.path}"
    localWar="file://${build.home}"/>
    </target>
    When I point my brower to the url located in the error verbose, I get the following:
    FAIL - Encountered exception java.lang.NullPointerException
    I am trying to get my environment set up correctly before I start spending time developing servlets, but I am getting tempted to just develop to servlets and "manually" installing/deploying them either by copying and pasting or by using the Tomcat manager. I would really like to do everything from Ant though if possible. Please help.

    I don't think this is at all correct:
    localWar="file://${build.home}"/>You've got to create a real WAR file - a JAR file with WEB-INF and all its minions inside it:
    http://access1.sun.com/techarticles/simple.WAR.html
    That's the file you need to refer to there. You can manage that with Ant too, of course.
    Here's what my Ant build.xml looks like for Web apps (there's a build-web.properties file that follows):
    build-web.xml

  • Deploying using Ant

    Hi,
    Im trying to deploy my BPEL process to server using ant.Im using JDeveloper of version 10.1.3.1. I dont have SOA suit deployed on my server and only have a patch of JDeveloper on my system.In the build.xml I have pointed my $(oracle.home) to C:/JDeveloper
    I have configured my ant-orabpel.properties file pointing to the host which I intend to deploy my process.
    When I try to deploy my processes using Ant the validation task fails with the following error:
    BUILD FAILED
    C:\JDeveloper\jdev\mywork\AntTest\ProcessCalled\build.xml:55: Could not cr
    eate task or type of type: validateTask.
    Ant could not find the task or a class this task relies upon.
    This is common and has a number of causes; the usual
    solutions are to read the manual pages then download and
    install needed JAR files, or fix the build file:
    - You have misspelt 'validateTask'.
    Fix: check your spelling.
    - The task needs an external JAR file to execute
    and this is not found at the right place in the classpath.
    Fix: check the documentation for dependencies.
    Fix: declare the task.
    - The task is an Ant optional task and the JAR file and/or libraries
    implementing the functionality were not found at the time you
    yourself built your installation of Ant from the Ant sources.
    Fix: Look in the ANT_HOME/lib for the 'ant-' JAR corresponding to the
    task and make sure it contains more than merely a META-INF/MANIFEST.MF.
    If all it contains is the manifest, then rebuild Ant with the needed
    libraries present in ${ant.home}/lib/optional/ , or alternatively,
    download a pre-built release version from apache.org
    - The build file was written for a later version of Ant
    Fix: upgrade to at least the latest release version of Ant
    - The task is not an Ant core or optional task
    and needs to be declared using <taskdef>.
    - You are attempting to use a task defined using
    <presetdef> or <macrodef> but have spelt wrong or not
    defined it at the point of use
    Remember that for JAR files to be visible to Ant tasks implemented
    in ANT_HOME/lib, the files must be in the same directory or on the
    classpath
    Please neither file bug reports on this problem, nor email the
    Ant mailing lists, until all of these causes have been explored,
    as this is not an Ant bug.
    Can anyone help me how to overcome this error and have ant completed with Build successful.
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Deepti.

    Thanks Mark,
    I have copied the jar files from ORACLE_HOME\OracleAS_1\bpel\lib to JDeveloper\integration\bpel\lib and have set the my CLASSPATH to the same and my ant started working successfully.
    Thanks,
    Deepti

I am confused because I have 2 more adapter created on similiar lines like this but while compiling no error references are made to those wsdls. I am not sure What's wrong with this wsdl. However, Composite gets complied and deployed using Jdeveloper. Please provide your Inputs.

    Regards,
    Anilkumar P

    Hi,
    I was getting exactly same error. I have resolved it by putting the
    <target name="enterPassword" >
            <input message="Please enter Weblogic password:" addproperty="passwd">
                <handler classname="org.apache.tools.ant.input.SecureInputHandler" />
            </input>
    in my build.xml
    It means that it was not able to read password properly in bin/ant-sca-mgmt.xml
    Password was the issue in my case. it is working now.
    Thanks,
    Arun Jadhav

    Hi,
    404 response indicates that soa-infra is not running in the host:port/gdiora001.in.ibm.com, port:7001
    Pl make sure that you have soa-infra running in that host/port.
    http://host:port/soa-infra
    For the logs,
    you can find the soa server logs under $DOMAIN_HOME/servers/soa_server1/logs

    You can always deploy the ADF web apps from the Application (top menu) deploy option. Just make sure you're deploying the EAR profile for the project. Deploying the web projects from the composite deployment wizard can be convenient. But I think it's often the case that you deploy them (the composite and forms) separately (e.g. you make a series of changes to the composite without needed to redeploy the UI projects).
    Bottom line is you don't have to delete the projects to be able to modify/deploy them.

    Denis -- This sounds like maybe the RMI port that you are using to connect is the one used by the home instance. Have a look at the other instance you deployed it to and see what RMI port it is using.

  • Deploy soa suite services to HTTPS using Ant

    All,
    I hope somebody can assist. I have developed an ant script, which deploys to a soa server (using Oracle SOA suite 11 R3). This works great for HTTP, but I need to deploy SOA services to a HTTPS configured soa and weblogic server. I have changed the Ant properties for managed.server.port to 8002 and admin.server.port to 7002.
    I then run my ant script in which I encounter the below fault.
    My understanding of the issue is that the deployed soa service does not have the correct SSL certification for the handshake. Can somebody explain me the changes needed in my ant script for the handshake to work?

    Hi atheek1,
    Thanks for your response. I have tried your suggestion, but I am still receiving the same error.
    Please note I am trying to deploy from my windows machine to my local SOA suite 11g app. One of the problems I noticed that my java home was set to JRockit while weblogic points to the Sun jvm. In weblogic the service is pointed to the follow keystore directory:
    C:\Soa11g\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\WLSERV~1.3\server\lib\DemoIdentity.jks
    C:\Soa11g\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\WLSERV~1.3\server\lib\DemoTrust.jks
    C:\Soa11g\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\JDK160~1\jre\lib\security\cacerts
    I changed my Java home directory to point to the same jvm as weblogic. If I am not mistaking then this should automatically point to the correct server keystore. I tried to deploy after this change and I received the same error. Next step I thought that I possible need to include an additional key store from the environment I deploy from. I have done this using the InstallCert.java as explained below:
    http://wiki.unisa.edu.au/display/AAI/Add+Certificates+to+your+Java+Keystore
    After this I retried and still I receive the same error. I am new with security so I hope you can provide more help. Please note I have only enabled the SSL for the soa-server.
    Many Thanks
    SR
