Using Basemaps with MapViewer/WMS

I've set up a basemap which zoom layers a Georaster layer and MasterMap vector layers.
This works fine when accessing MapViewer in the normal manner, however, when I access it through WMS I only get the MasterMap data at all zoom levels.
e.g.
http://10.104.30.10:8888/mapviewer/wms?request=getmap&version=1.1.1
&format=image/jpg&service=wms&bbox=525000,180000,530000,185000
&srs=SDO:81989&BASEMAP=WMSBASE1&layers=&width=800&height=800
Why would it not behave the same when accessing via WMS?

Case Issue in Mapviewer WMS GetMap request

I've been working with Mapviewer 10.1.2.0.2 for a couple weeks now and have used the wms_getmap_request using the XML API to get layers from various WMS servers including USGS. I am interested in getting images specifically from wms.jpl.nasa.gov as they seem to have better global coverage than USGS which is primarily interested in the US. I believe that the wms.jpl.nasa.gov is a non compliant WMS server because the REQUEST=GETMAP name pair in the url created by Mapviewer using the wms_getmap_request fails while using REQUEST=GetMap works.
Here's and easy test: The URL in Example 1 fails while the Example 2 URL returns an image.
Short of asking Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory to get a new wms image server, is there a workaround for this that would force the url request to use the mixed case version of the value instead of the all upper case? From what I can tell they are a leading source of this kind of information.

Hi,
Since MapViewer is a component of Oracle App Server, any MapViewer patch will have to be part of an App Server-wide patch, which is out of the control of the Mapviewer team (schedule wise).
We are however preparing for an early access release of MapViewer 11g, which will be available for download on OTN late Janurary 2006. That version will fix this issue (and also provides a ton of exciting new features).

How can i do it?

What i want to do is to create a jsp page which will use the JSP tag library of Mapviewer.
The problem appears when i try to run a jsp page in JDeveloper which contain (for example) the init tag.

OBIEE 10g integration with mapviewer

hello all,
i am trying integrate mapviewer map in obiee dashboard. and i am able to show maps which do not use bi answers data for any kind of interaction (i.e,no "nsdp" section in the map file). this works fine. if i am using any dashboard prompt to filter the map ( for example if want to see a particular county from a statewide map using dashboard prompt as filter) it is giving error as below:

Root cause:FOIServlet:Missing IN or OUT parameter at index:: 1)
there are two databases with same set of data. one is poc which was created by some one else. so we had to setup new schema to properly define all the data.
so problem occurs when using new schema as datasource. all the html datasource configurations are properly defined on mapviewer for new data.
followed these steps in setting up new schema:
->initially did not run any scripts nor created mvdemo , started clean and loaded the required tables using map builder from GIS shape files with geometry projected to world_mercator(54004). on the contrary POC schema two geometry columns in each table where one is actual coordinate system from GIS file and then it is projected to world_mercator system and loaded into second column using sql. all the geometry indexes looked similar.
->created all the mapping metadata exactly same as the POC. where all the themes uses world_mercator geometry.
both schemas are on same database. i have no idea of what causing the error when i use dashboard prompts. i am not sure if there are additional steps to be followed in creating database or if something else is missing some where. i have no prior experience with mapviewer and oracle spatial. this is kind of learning curve for me.
please let me know any suggestions or solutions .

Is your environment similar to this in http://obiee-bip.blogspot.com/2010/10/obiee-integration-with-oracle-access.html or something different like diid you have create groups in OAM .?
Also assuming your repository groups and presentation catalog groups are already setup. In the different authorization init block you have created enable the ‘Required for Authentication’ check box.
NOTE: According to Oracle Access Manager (OAM) and Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) Integration [ID 1217103.1]
Creation of group should be done by loging as Administrator user to rpd and webcat. This should be done on different machine that does not have OAM integration. With OAM integration only OAM user can log into presentation services and they don’t have Administrator user privileges.

Anyone having experience with MapViewer

Because I don't find much topics about MapViewer in this forum or documentation on the whole Oracle-site I wonder if there are people who worked successfully with MapViewer.
I've got it going. The provided demo are working even with my own spatial data.
But now I want to extent the demos to meet my demands/requests. But I find it very difficult to find sample code. I'm specially looking for sample code to use MapViewer in a java-applet and code using jsp and the javabean and creating a dynamic legend.
So my questions are:
* Are there people who use MapViewer and what are your experiences with it.
* Where can I find other sample code than the demo code provided by Oracle.

I am currently doing a project namely "LOCATION BASED SERVICES AND PROXIMITY ANALYSIS". It's basically a GIS through which users can query the desired objects (SCHOOLS,HOTELS,ATMs etc) that are close to there location.The response is in the form of a map.
I am using mapviewer as a middle tier redering tool.
Would you plz help me that in which format do we load maps and how do we define spatial data that is to be used by mapviewer.

Now should integrate in solution running on JBoss 4.0.5.
First problem arises when cannot reach new mapviewer html admin pages.

I think I'm getting closer but not working yet.
Was missing the step you pointed out.
Used succesfully the AdfInstaller from OTN after copying the 36 lib files to JBOSS_HOME/server/default/lib.
But can't run /mapviewer/faces/home.jspx yet.
Next I post errors for before (a) and after (b) having deleted folder jboss\server\default\deploy\jbossweb-tomcat55.sar\jsf-libs [Understood this as equivalent step from doc "JBoss Deployment Notes" although written for version 4.0.3]
Also tried to delete folders tmp, log and data, but get same error.

Visualizing map data with mapviewer

Hello. I have successfully deployed mapviewer using oc4j standalone. What I want to do now is to visualize maps based on data from tables I have in my database. I have successfully added a datasource using the admin tools on the http://localhost:8888/mapviewer/ site as I am getting the following response:

How can I visualize this data in a map format? Is mapviewer simply a middle tier application or is there some way I can view the data like in an applet?

This also relates to your subsequent post on visualizing data with the Map Definition Tool.
As Justin suggested, use the 9.0.4 preview version if you're getting started with MapViewer. And use the demo JSPs to do some basic visualization.
Assuming your database version is 9.2.x.x do the following (if the database version is 8i or 9.0.1.x then you need to install some views. See section 1.4.2.3 in the doc for the steps and where to locate the sql scripts):
1. Install the demo data (in mvdemo.dmp), and
2. Use the demo JSPs mapinit.jsp or mapclient.jsp to view the demo data as a map.
The doc (section 1.6) explains how to do this.
Now for the map def tool.
That is only for setting up symbology, styling rules, and specifying which themes make up a map. It does not render the maps.
To simply view your spatial data without any fancy styling and symbology (e.g. to test that Mapviewer works and your data is valid) use the jview demo jsp.

Ok, I do exactly as you specify here. In addition I import the needed jars from the import folder of j2mepolish. Also, I put the resources folder from the polish sample (MenuMidlet) in the project, and all marked errors disappears.
Then I try to run it as an Ant build, and get the following error:

Ok - so it seems that it for some reason gets "source\src" two times. So I go back to the <midlet class and remove the source.src, leaving just de.enough.polish.example.
Then I run as Ant again, and it compiles successfully.
However, when I try to run the MenuMidlet class as a j2me midlet (in eclipse) it starts, and then crash with this error:

Well - then I create a J2ME package from the project, and run the deployed/sample.jad file. Then the midlet actually starts, but when I click Launch, the display shows:

I can't find a reference to MenuBar anywhere in the sample code.

Mapviewer WMS and GetCapabilities

Hi,
We have a Mapviewer WMS server running well, but have noticed that when we use a WMS client to query the data (e.g. Quantum GIS, NASA WW) the WMS service returns the entire extent, not the extent of the data. This is really annoying and is an important part of WMS.
All the georasters we have are built correctly etc. (i.e. tested system known to work).
How do provide extents for just the data in the GetCapabilities?

I cannot find the user_sdo_view_metadata view. I do have:
user_sdo_geom_metadata
user_sdo_geor_sysdata
Yes, I would not expect the GetCapabilities spatial extent for all the images in the table, not just 1 image.
I used this query to check the spatial extents of each image and they are all there:
SELECT t.image.spatialextent FROM oblique t
Looking at the view in user_sdo_geom_metadata shows:
3 | oblique | image.spatialextent | <points showing diminfo> | 41103
which all looks good.
I noticed though for the user_sdo_geor_sysdata view, there is an entry for each image, for example:
9 | oblique | image | (null) | oblique_rdt | 1 | (null)
which means that for the meta_data_column_name it is set to null. Is that bad?

As Winston Churchill wrote, however you might want to do a factory reset on the Apple TV.
This way all information pertaining to your daughter will be removed from the device. Specifically if see was sign into any of the streaming service, Netflix, Hulu, etc. her credentials will still be associated with this Apple TV, doing a factory reset will remove all that and make it as if you purchased the device and just plugged it in.

OPEN CURSOR using a WITH clause in the select query

I am using Oracle 9i. I have a requirement where I have a REFCURSOR as an OUT parameter for my procedure. I have declared the TYPE and created the procedure.
In the procedure, I am using OPEN <cursor_name> FOR <query>;
Ideally this works in most of the cases that I have tried earlier. However, in the current case I am using a WITH clause in my query to get the results.
I need help in understanding if the above mentioned syntax would not allow me to use the WITH clause in the query.

What error do you get , seems to work ok for me on 10g
