Using controls in my class?

I want to use a checkbox in the class im creating. I tried
using
import fl.controls.CheckBox;
but it says "Checkbox is not a compile time constant"
The only way I could get it to work is if I did that in the
flash CS3 IDE and imported a checkbox into the library from the
components. I want to be able to have access to the checkbox just
by importing this class because I would like to distribute the
class open souce and I dont want people to have to worry about
importing a checkbox into their library. Is there a way to embedd
the checkbox from the class file? and will that work in both flash
and flex?

Trouble Using DataProvider in External Class

Hello,
I am creating a Flash form which will include a drop-down selection menu from which a user may choose their state. I originally accomplished this by adding a ComboBox to the stage and then populated the ComboBox's DataProvider object with an XML listing of all the state names and the corresponding values. Everything works as expected.
I have decided, however, that it would make the most sense to create an external class to accomplish the same thing. I have attempted to create such a class using the following code:

I then attempted to use this class in my Flash file by adding a ComboBox component to my library and then by creating a new StateSelectionList object and adding it the stage using the following code:

The data provider for the new object is empty, however, as one can find by tracing the length of the object's dataProvider property;
trace(states.dataProvider.length);
I am new to creating external class files so I am not sure why the new object is not populated with any data. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

There is a something tricky:
first if you extend the combo box ther is no need to create a new instance in its constructor only to pass the data provider. This will work

dataProvider is public from base class ComboBox so you can access it anytime. But the properties that are inspactable may be setted with effect only after second frame is passed so try this

Note, In my custom components when I extend the UIComponent a set the parameter in afterComponentParameters or CreateUI( I think this was the name ) methods but more fast is just to pass one frame and set the parameturs

How to use method of one class in other class.

Hi.I am new to object orient approach .I am developing a project which has a class as application .My class has it state control as another class which is notification class.I want to use my notification class method (init)in my application class method .i have also used read and write accessors vis.But i have broken lines in my code.Please help me correct it. and print screen is attached below.

On the left, you have wired 2 sources on the same tunnel/wire, so that's 1 broken wire.
In the For loop, you are trying to wire a "Red" object from the first subVI to the input of the "Green" subVI, so a "Green" object. If Red is not a descendant class of Green (or share a common ancestor), it is not permitted.
FInally, the output of the For loop, is a 1D array of "Green" objects, which is probably not the same data type as the input of the last subVI on the right (it's probably a "Green" object scalar).
Overall, you can use the "List Errors" dialog box (Ctrl+L) to debug your code, and make exhaustive use of the contextual help (Ctrl+H) to see what is going on when focusing a broken wire.

Opening the activeX control "Excel.FormatCondition" class

I am using activeX controls for excel including the classes Excel._Application, Excel._Workbook, and Excel._Worksheet. I used an open automation refnum to open the application class, then I used property nodes to get to the workbook and worksheet classes. Now I want use the Excel.FormatCondition class. I couldn't get to the class with nodes and methods, so I'm using an open automation refnum as before, but I'm getting "Error 3005 occurred at Automation Open".
I found another post with advice to register the controls, but I read that the excel activeX controls don't need to be registered--they just work in windows.
If I do need to register something, I dont' know what. I'm using LabVIEW 8.6, and Office 2007.

Here's a picture (scaled-down excerpt of my project) to show how I'm opening the application class and using invoke nodes and property nodes to get to the workbook and worksheet classes. I used a cluster to group the classes that I use later on, so you'll notice that I'm not closing the classes in this exceprt.
I went through all the drop-down menu's in the invoke nodes and property nodes and I couldn't find a way to get to "FormatCondition" so I figured I'd have to use an automation refnum, and select the "Excel.FormatCondition" class, and another automation open (which is what I tried showing earlier). I understand I have to specify a range, but I'm not quite there yet. (Sorry if I mis-led you, Michael, with my first attachment.)
Does that clear up my question?

As you said when I using event of Begin its working fine. but while using the event of end, I am specifying date and then matnr (sort) its taking(nodes are created mean first matnr and then date) in the reverse order and when I am taking matnr and date it is placing the events(nodes) in the right order but the order date is not triggering.
can please tell me how to proceed here..

Using Timer and TimerTask classes in EJB's(J2EE)

Does J2EE allow us to use Timer and TimerTask classes from java.util package in SessionBean EJB's ( Statless or Statefull )?.
If J2EE does allow, I am not sure how things work in practical, Lets take simple example where a stateless SessionBean creates a Timer class
and schedules a task to be executed after 5 hours and returns. Assuming
GC kicks in many times in 5 hours, I wonder if the Timer object created by survives the GC run's so that it can execute the scheduled tasks.
My gut feeling says that the Timer Object will not survive.. Just
want to confirm that.
I will be interested to know If there are any techiniques that can make
the usage of Timer and TimeTask classes in EJB's possible as well as reliable with minmum impact on over all performance.

Have a look at J2EE 1.4. I think they add a timer service for EJBs there...

Error in using TCPIP/Instr class to open a VISA session

I use the TCPIP/Instr class session to open a VISA session to Agilent 86140B Optical spectrum Analyser and I get an Error - VISA open in Appln.vi.Help me to fix this problem.
I am able to access the instrument on LAN through a Telnet session.

Thanx for the reply.The instrument is VXI-11 compliant.The error I am getting is Instrument timeout -1073807339 (BFFF0015) and I am using LabVIEW on Linux.
I have another problem.I am able to see the instrument using a Telnet session but not using http//192.168.10.2 on a web browser.It is giving an error that the host may be down and try some time later.

We are using Communication manager 7.0.1 and UCCX version 7.0.1(Cisco Unified CCX Premium). We are trying to call a Custom Java class file from UCCX scripting. We have followed the steps mentioned in the guide (How-To: Using a custom Java class in UCCX 5.x (SOAP Example)). See below link.

Key code 24 using control down - no longer works in 10.6

I have a script that should open a dialog box to make a picture using Copernicus. the command I try to invoke is 'Control ='.
here is the script.

activate
delay 2
tell application "System Events"
key code 24 using control down
end tell
end tell
or alternative I tried:
tell application "Copernicus"
activate
delay 2
tell application "System Events" to keystroke "=" using control down
delay 5
end tell
However both do not work, it does do nothing on - key code 24 using control down -.
If I do a manual 'Control =' it works regardless if the Application is active or in the background.
Has anything changed in 10.6 that this sort of code no longer works? How do I set it up for this to work?

I captured from mini-dv camcorder to FCP7 using control from my computer and firewire. I cannot find the file or clips I transferred anywhere except for in Finder. How do I get the clips from Finder to FCP7. Also I did not see audio on the computer meters

you will not see the audio meters from within fcp move while capturing.
If you only see the captured clip in the finder, not within fcp, there's something wrong. You might try deleting your fcp preferences

compiler performance is utterly unimportant anyway...

internal table fields :

03      abc     4      100
03      xyz     5      300
03      xyz     6      200
i need output like this:

Can anyone suggest me logic for this by using control break statements
