USING HREF in CFTREEITEM TO OPEN A FOLDER

I have an issue using CFTREITEM. I need to open a folder that is phisically in the server, the way I do this using a regular href is like
<a href="\\SERVERNAME\FOLDER">LINK TO THE FOLDER</a>
I've tried the same thing in the HREF of a CFTREEITEM
<CFTREEITEM
                         expand="no"
                        img="document"
                        target="_blank"
                         value='SOME NAME'
                    href="\\SERVERNAME\FOLDER"
/>
but it will open a browser page instead of opening the folder.
Any ideas?

This is the resume feature of Lion. The last state of the application is saved when quitting (i.e last pictures viewed in Preview, last videos viewed in Quicktime etc).
You can switch it off for Preview by copy and pasting the following in to the terminal application
defaults write com.apple.Preview NSQuitAlwaysKeepsWindows -bool false

I want to know how to change it so when i open a folder full of bookmarks it uses the current bookmark as the first of the group again.

Before updating from version 7 to 8 when i went into my bookmarks, and right clicked on a folder and clicked "Open All In Tabs" it would use the current bookmark that i had open as the first of these in the folder. It would then open the folder's bookmarks to the right of that current bookmark.
I can accept that it no longer opens the group to the right of the current tab easily enough. What annoys me is that it no longer uses the current tab to open the bookmarks. I would like to know how to change this option.

After saving a file using Excel 2010 in the My Documents folder, it cannot be found using the open button in Excel 2010

When certain files are saved using Excel 2010 to the My Documents folder, they cannot be found by using the Open button within Excel 2010. But the file is always found using My Computer and following the path to My Documents. What is
even odder is that if I do a "Save As" within Excel and rename the file to the same name but with a "!" at the beginning of the name, it will then show up in the Excel Open window. There doesn't seem to be a distinct pattern as to
when the file can or cannot be displayed by the Excel Open button.
I am using Windows 7 64bit along with Office 2010 64bit. Windows has current service packs and updates. There are perhaps 200 - 400 Excel files in the My documents folder. Some of them are .XLS and some are .XLSX.

Do you mean that you can't find the Excel file when you click Excel->Open->My Documents folder?
Do you use the other folder path to test?
Dose the issue occur in other Office suits (Word, Power Point)?
Do you get some error message, like "Windows cannot find 'FilePath\FileName', Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."?
Please try the following methods:
Method1:
1. Go to the registry. Click START, and in the RUN command line type REGEDIT and hit ENTER or click OK.
2. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Excel.Sheet.8\Shell\Open\Command
3. Double click on the (Default) instance over to the right. Right now this probably says something like:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\EXCEL.EXE /dde
Change this value to:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\EXCEL.EXE /e "%1"
4. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Excel.Sheet.12\Shell\Open\Command
Again, double click the (Default) entry to the right and change
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\EXCEL.EXE /dde
to
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\EXCEL.EXE /e "%1"
Note : Please backup the registry key before you modify.
Method2:
Click the File tab, and then click Options.
Click Advanced, scroll down to the General
section, and then clear the Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) check box in the
General area.

I want to select a particular folder using file browsing option in html. why i want this is : i have to update the resumes located in a particular folder. so every time i am opening that folder which is a subfolder.
ex: c:\dir1\dir2\dir3\Resumes
Eveevry time , i have to go to C -> dir1->dir2-->dir3 then Reusmes
what i need is when i click the browsing button, i want to get the Resumes folder directly. Is there any option to do that one by setting value to file tag.

You say you want to use file browsing option in html, which makes me guess this functionality is through a web page. Can you give us a bit more information about how this works as it's not abundantly clear how it relates to Java (JSP?).

How to open a folder using Actionscript 3.0

I have been trying for about a day to get this to work, but nothing seems to, so i'm finally going to ask.
So far, code wise, i have this:
     open_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, OpenButtonHandler);
     function OpenButtonHandler(event:MouseEvent):void
From there, what code gets flash to literally open up a folder such as My Documents? The end use of this code will be for a CD, whereby the flash .exe file will call up folders from the disc through clicking buttons. Also, please make me awear of under what situations the code may not work. At the moment, i am writting the .exe file to the desktop, and trying to open a folder on my desktop through the application.
Often times, everything i have tried so far, either causes Syntax Errors or no errors, but just doesn't work.

Is there no way to get buttons to open up explorer folders specified? It seems people are managing it somehow, but i can't do it. Others aprantly can do it using this code:

, but that's actionscript 2, not 3 which i am using. Surely actionscript 3 can do this and possibly even better seeing as it is a higher version?
I also found another bit of code that was like this:
     fscommand("exec","explorer\dirname");
,but again that didnt work. However, in another way it did because flash reported no errors when it was run, but nothing happened when the button was clicked.
The only other thing i tried was this:
     var request:URLRequest=new URLRequest("C:\\");
    navigateToURL(request);
The problem with that was that it tried to open the internet as expected unfortinatly, not windows explorer to open the folder C:\\.
Directing users to the appropiate locations on the disk wasn't really what i needed thanks for the suggestion though.
EDIT:
That last idea worked, sorry, but it opened in the default web-browser instead of using explorer, so i'm half way there. Is it possible to tell it what application to use to open the directory, so that way i can specify explorer?

Using applescript to open a folder with a keyboard shortcut

i have a rather simple question (probably). is there a way using applescript to create a keyboard command to open a folder? i.e. command shift a opens the applications folder and command shift u opens utilities. can i use applescript to designate a keyboard command to open a folder i have created? also, the script editor does not have to be open for me to utilize scripts, correct?

You can't make a keyboard shortcut to run a specific application from OSX, although there are third party applications such as Quicksilver that can do things like that. You can use an AppleScript to activate an existing menu item, for example:

Other alternatives to keyboard shortcuts are to use the Scripts Menu or add an application to the Finder's toolbar. The Script Editor does not need to be active to use scripts.

How to open a file using the default application using java code?
Ex: - Open a JPG file using its default image viewer (Ex: Piscasa 3)..... (Not Inside the Java Application)
Then how to open a file containing folder with that file selected?

Repairing the permissions of a home folder in Lion is a complicated procedure. I don’t know of a simpler one that always works.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
chmod -R -N ~
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. When a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) appears below what you entered, it’s done. You may see a few error messages about an “invalid argument” while the command is running. You can ignore those. If you get an error message with the words “Permission denied,” enter this:

Opening a folder using a button?

Can anybody tell me if it is possible to to create an interactive button that will allow you to open a folder view in Windows Explorer?
I would like to make it easy for my Client to be able open a folder view that they can then populate with their own documents.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Unfortunately due to a recent security patch this no longer works and you receive a message saying,
"This file is set to be launched by this PDF file. This is currently disallowed by your system administrator"

I suspect this is because ultimately Windows Explorer is an executable.
