Using IMPORT from Database to fetch data from CLuster
Hi,
I am using IMPORT From Databse to ge the data from a Cluster DB.
IMPORT i_postings_old
FROM DATABASE y0fsgr001(xx)
ID l_sgr_memory_id.
whats is happening is there is not data in I_postings_old but there is data for the ID = l_sgr_memory_id.
in table y0fsgr001.
What might be the reason for this behaviour?
Thanks
Nishant
When doing the corresponding EXPORT TO DATABASE (in case you are doing it) Are you using the same variable name i_postings_old ?
Sometimes I faced this issue and in most cases it was due to the use of different variable names, maybe that's your case too.
IMPORT i_postings_old

I am using mutiple select queries to fetch data from Project Server 2010 DB(its sharepoint DB) and these queries fetch data in Excel BI report by establishing connection with DB using instance name and all. I have enhance all these select queries and data
is being fetched in secs. but when more than one copy of same Excel BI report is refreshed using 'Refresh All' option, then these select queries cause blockage on DB.
Please let me know mitigation for this blockage issue.
Should I use begin transaction and commit transaction statements/ shared lock statements.

General method to fetch data from transparent tables with cluster field
Hi,
I want to know is there any general method to fetch data from the transparent tables which have cluster type field. For
example MDTC, STXL, PCL1.
thanksMeans using the IMPORT statement we can fetch data from any cluster field?
Yes, basically you should use IMPORT/EXPORT statements for clusters.
AR and MC are cluster ID (area identification), so called RELID.
By definition cluster is a combination of table and such area i.e
PCL2(RX) - international payroll resuts from table PCL2
PCL2(B2) - time results

Fetch data from multiple cubes...help
Hello,
this is the very first time I post in this forum. I am using EssBase and now Smartview since about one year getting simple retrieves from cubes. One sheet for each cube I need.
Now I would like to merge two sheet that are based on different cubes and I am thinking to use only one sheet to fetch data from the two cubes. I think I have to define multiple grids but I'm not sure if it so.
Can you suggest me some useful link or tutorial where I could find more info about it? I am really new with this.
thank you, your help will be really appreciated.
ciao
faustoHi,
Welcome to the forums!
This document will show you how to define multiple grids: Page 55

But, now, i want to fetch data from data base. I will be giving inputs in the web page(for the query)....ON click of submit button,

FETCH DATA FROM ORACLE DATABASE USING Web Dynpro
I want to fetch data from ORACLE database using Web Dynpro. How can I do this?
1) Are you sure that you get no results? It sounds like you are having name resolution issues, which would imply that you should be getting an ORA-00942 error indicating that the table doesn't exist (or that you don't have access to the table). If you are not seeing this error, I would tend to suspect an overzealous exception handler.
2) What database account owns the table? What database account is your ASP.Net application using to connect? Assuming these two accounts are different, your application would either have to
- Explicitly prefix the table name with the schema name
- Have a public or private synonym that maps the table name to the fully qualified identifier schema_name.table_name
- Issue the command ALTER SESSION SET CURRENT_SCHEMA = <<schema name>> in each session, in which case all queries in the session would use the specified schema name as the default if no schema name is prefixed.

Fetching data from database in case of mixed case in SE37
Hi,
I have created a function module(in se37) where the input is Last name(PA0002-NACHN). My requirement is i have to fetch data from PA0002 based on last name. But the problem is if i give a name in mixed case(both upper and lower) sap converts the last name into Capital letter and starts searching the database.
But i tried in abap editor. here SAP accept the parameter(last name) as mixed case and starts searching. Why in function module the parameters are converted into upper case. How to restrict it.
If i will create a domain with LOWER CASE check box checked and try to call the dataelement in import part of function module then also it's converting it inot upper case. If i uncheck the lower case check box then also it's taking it as upper case.
How to process the input parameter in function module(SE37) which should take the input as user enters,i.e if user enters small letter it should take it as small letter , if mixed letter it should take it as mixed letter and start searching.
regards
sandeepHI sandeep,
<i>"If i will create a domain with LOWER CASE check box checked and try to call the dataelement in import part of function module then also it's converting it inot upper case. If i uncheck the lower case check box then also it's taking it as upper case."</i>
I think the data is getting converted to upper case even before it is passed to this FM.
Can yo ushow how are you testing this FM?
If you are calling this FM in a abap program using a parameter, it will convert the text to upper case as and when you enter data the name in it.

In the error it is showing that file expense_categories.csv in SOURCE_LOCATION not found but I am 100% sure that file is very much there.
Is anybody face the same issue?
Do we need to configure something before loading data from a flat file from OWB Client?
Any help would higly appreciable.
Regards,
Manmohan SharmaHi Detlef / Gowtham,
Now I am able to fetch data from flat files from OWB Server as well as OWB Client.
One way I have achieved as suggested by you
1) Creating location on the OWB Client
2) Samples the files at client
3) Created & Configured external table
4) Copy all flat files on OWB Server
5) Updated the location which I created at the client.
Other way
1) Creating location on the OWB Client
2) Samples the files at client
3) Created & Configured external table
4) Copied flat files on the sever in same drive & directory . like if my all flat files are on C:\data at OWB Client then I copied flat file C:\data on the OWB Server. But this is feasible for Non-Windows.
Hence my problem solved.
Thanks a lot.

Manmohan -

How to fetch data from database in javafx 2.2 table which is editable.
Dears!
I want to fetch data from database in javafx 2.2 tableformat with jdbc , which is also editable and i can add more records in this table also.
Can anybody help meI can vaguely recall some sort of JavaFX database connectivity feature, I'm not sure if it's valid anymore. The link is based on JavaFX Composer which only applied to NetBeans 6.9 and JavaFX 1.x (both of which are now dead techs).
There is a good chance you will have to write your own. There are several blogs describing other peoples' work. You could probably use them as a reference. Here is Narayan's basic [url http://blog.ngopal.com.np/2011/10/19/dyanmic-tableview-data-from-database/] tutorial for displaying data from a database in a TableView, you'll need to look elsewhere for the editing portion.
The [url http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/ui_controls/table-view.htm]JavaFX TableView tutorial gives info about how to handle edits in a TableView, but you will need to tie the updates back to the database yourself.
It is possible that [url http://www.javafxdata.org/]DataFX may provide some facilities to help support you. -
To fetch Data from multiple database tables!
How to fetch Data from fields of multiple database tables!
Give me one example!use <b>join....</b>
c the SAPHELP docs...
FROM tabref1 [INNER] JOIN tabref2 ON cond
Effect
The data is to be selected from transparent database tables and/or views determined by tabref1 and tabref2. tabref1 and tabref2 each have the same form as in variant 1 or are themselves Join expressions. The keyword INNER does not have to be specified. The database tables or views determined by tabref1 and tabref2 must be recognized by the ABAP Dictionary.
In a relational data structure, it is quite normal for data that belongs together to be split up across several tables to help the process of standardization (see relational databases). To regroup this information into a database query, you can link tables using the join command. This formulates conditions for the columns in the tables involved. The inner join contains all combinations of lines from the database table determined by tabref1 with lines from the table determined by tabref2, whose values together meet the logical condition (join condition) specified using ON>cond.
Inner join between table 1 and table 2, where column D in both tables in the join condition is set the same:

Output a list of all flights from Frankfurt to New York between September 10th and 20th, 2001 that are not sold out:
DATA: DATE LIKE SFLIGHT-FLDATE,
CARRID LIKE SFLIGHT-CARRID,
CONNID LIKE SFLIGHT-CONNID.
SELECT FCARRID FCONNID F~FLDATE
INTO (CARRID, CONNID, DATE)
FROM SFLIGHT AS F INNER JOIN SPFLI AS P

ENDSELECT.
If there are columns with the same name in both tables, you must distinguish between them by prefixing the field descriptor with the table name or a table alias. -
I want to fetch data from two tables which are in two separate database. Is it possible to fetch similar from two schemas of same database.
Pls help with query.Hi,
Say you have two schema S1 and S2 in the same database 'xyz' then you can create two database links to these two schemas from any third schema as ::
CREATE database link s1link connect to S1 identified by <password of S1> using 'xyz' ;
CREATE database link s2link connect to S2 identified by <password of S2> using 'xyz' ;
Now say if there is a table called tab1 in schema S1, then you can get data from it as ::
SELECT T1.*
FROM tab1@s1link T1
WHERE < you can put conditions here> ;
Similarly for the columns of a table of schema S2.
