Using isAlive() and join(): problem
Hi,
class NewThread implements Runnable {
String name;
Thread t;
NewThread(String threadname) {
name = threadname;
t = new Thread(this, name);
System.out.println("New Thread: " + t);
t.start();
public void run() {
try {
for(int i = 5; i > 0; i--) {
System.out.println(name + " : " + i);
Thread.sleep(1000);
}catch (InterupptedException e) {
System.out.println(name + "Interuppted");
System.out.println(name + "exiting");
class DemoJoin{
public static void main(String args[]) {
NewThread ob1 = new NewThread("one");
NewThread ob2 = new NewThread("Two");
NewThread ob3 = new NewThread("Three");
System.out.println("Thread one is alive: " + ob1.t.isAlive());
System.out.println("Thread Two is alive: " + ob2.t.isAlive());
System.out.println("Thread Three is alive: " + ob3.t.isAlive());
try{
System.out.println("Waiting for threads to finish.");
ob1.t.join();
ob2.t.join();
ob3.t.join();
}catch(InterruptedException e) {
System.out.prinln("Main thread Interrupted");
System.out.println("Thread One is alive: " +ob1.t.isAlive());
System.out.println("Thread two is alive: " +ob2.t.isAlive());
System.out.println("Thread three is alive: " +ob3.t.isAlive());
System.out.println("Main thread exiting.");
}I am getting this error when i run this program on command prompt:
c:\java>javac DemoJoin.java

Please help me out to find out the solution.

This is a mistake
System.out.prinln("Main thread Interrupted");It should be
System.out.println("Main thread Interrupted");This is another mistake
}catch (InterupptedException e) {it should be
}catch (IneptException e) {You will need the latter often in your codings, so please take care to remember it.

Using Case and Joins in update statement
Hi all,
I need to update one column in my table...but need to use case and joins...I wrote the query and it is not working
I am getting an error msg saying...the SQL command not ended properly...
I am not that good at SQL...Please help...
update t1 a
set a.name2=
(case
when b.msg2 in ('bingo') then '1'
when b.msg2 in ('andrew') then '2'
when b.msg2 in ('sam') then '3'
else '4'
end )
from t1 a left outer join t2 b
on a.name1 = b.msg1 ;
Waiting for help on this...!
Thanks in Advance... :)Another approach is to update an inline view defining the join:
update
( select a.name2, b.msg2
from t1 a
join t2 b on b.msg1 = a.name1 ) q
set q.name2 =
case
when q.msg2 = 'bingo' then '1'
when q.msg2 = 'andrew' then '2'
when q.msg2 = 'sam' then '3'
else '4'
end;which could also be rewritten as
update
( select a.name2
, case q.msg2
when 'bingo' then '1'
when 'andrew' then '2'
when 'sam' then '3'
else '4'
end as new_name
from t1 a
join t2 b on b.msg1 = a.name1 ) q
set name2 = new_name;The restriction is that the lookup (in this case, t2.msg1) has to be declared unique, via either a primary or unique key or unique index.
(You don't strictly need to give the view an alias, but I used 'q' in case you tried 'a' or 'b' and wondered why they weren't recognised outside the view.) -
Workflow Components : how to use SPLIT and JOIN ?
Dear all,
Because a Transition does not have any return of result, do you know how to use SPLIT and JOIN components ?
<activity name='"xyz">
<Transition to='act1'>
</Transition>
<Transition to='act2'>
</Transition>
</activity>
In this above example, the second transition towards act2 is never called (i.e. there is no condition for the first transition) because there is no return of result for the first transition.
Unfortunately, I didn't find any documentation about the SPLIT and JOIN workflow components. Do you have some information about these components ? How to use them ?
Thanks a lot.<activity name='"xyz" andSplit='true'>
<Transition to='act1'>
</Transition>
<Transition to='act2'>
</Transition>
</activity>
The "andSplit='true'" will cause it transition to both act1 and act1. -
MacBook will not start. I have restarted with original CD. I have used Utilities and "no problem" with hard drive. I have reset PRAM. I have tried safe boot. Nothing is work. Gray screen with Apple logo and rotating wheel. Thanks for any suggestions!
Snow Leopard is a Mac OS X version. You say that it's the version you have in your Mac (10.6.8). Do a back up of your files, format the hard drive (using Disk Utility) and reinstall again

Can't use signature,and other problems
Though I've created 2 signatures in Mail Preferences, neither one is shown when I send an e-mail. In the Signatures window in Mail Preferences the "Select Signature" portion in the dialog box is not active and "None" shows in the drop down menu bar.
There's apparently no way to empty the trash. I've searched through the all of the Preferences headings and found nothing about selecting when trash is to be emptied. In my old version of Mail, using the keyboard shortcut "Command+K" emptied the trash. In this new version, Mail 4.0.1, that's not an option.In the Signatures window in Mail Preferences the "Select Signature" portion in the dialog box is not active and "None" shows in the drop down menu bar.
In the Signature box, select your email account you are using and then select "Choose Signature."

Two VM's running on different Host needs to be connected using Bridging and joined to VM's domain
Hi,
I am new to the form and vm workstation. Thanks for your inputs in advance.
I have 2 physical machine running Windows 7 OS.
On Host1, I have 2 VM's running Windows 2008 Server & XP. I have joined XP to Windows 2008 Server. If I try to join the VM machine running on Host2 to windows server machine running on Host1, I get the DNS error. However I'm able to ping all the vm machines in any direction. Is it possible to join this VM3 to windows server??I would suggest you to readjust the wireless settings on your Router....
On the Linksys Setup Page,reduce the MTU size to 1400 and click on Save Settings.Click on wireless tab.... Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...Set the Radio Band to Standard-20MHz and change the Standard channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
Click on Advanced Wireless Settings....Change the Beacon Interval to 75,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304,Click on "Save Settings"... -
I use PSC1410 and the problem is after finishing the printing job each time it pulls one blank page
I have PSC 1410, page is pulled at the begining and the check paper as well as the check cartridge LED blinks. To start the print job I have to wait for the page spool and after I hear the first page spool sound then I have to load the paper immediately to the paper try and the print job starts perfectly, after the end of print job it pulls one blank pageand the check paper LED blinks and I have to cancel the print job.
This is a user to user forum. No one here is an employee or representative of Apple.
If you want someone from Apple to explain what you should do make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one near you and take your iPad there and talk to Apple. If no Apple store is close enough then call Apple to find out what your alternatives are. There is a Contact Info link at the bottom of every page in this forum. -
I have installed the trial of CC and we get a flashing every time we move anything any ideas? We were using CS4 and the problems were much worse.
Which Adobe CC product exactly?
What are your hardware specs?
Have you tried installing on another computer? -

I updated my software to iOS6 and now my phone won't automatically join known wifi networks even though I have it on. It goes back to 3G every so often when I'm at home instead of using wifi, and each time I ask to join it asks for my wifi password
Try this for your home Wi-Fi:
On your iPhone, Settings > Wi-Fi > select your home network > "forget this network"
Power down (unplug) your wireless router
Restart your iPhone
Plug in your router
Re-join that network
I don't know if this simple technique will fix it for good but try it. There is a long thread about this problem here: iOS 6 WiFi Disabled -
Using FILTER after a FULL OUTER JOIN problem in OWB
Hi,
I’m using OWB 11.2.
In an OWB mapping I need to detect every changes (Insert, Update, Delete) made to the data of a table. In order to find these changes I need to use “FULL OUTER JOIN” and a “FILTER” to join current table to previous table.
My desired generated query should be like this:
Select *
From tab1 FULL OUTER JOIN tab2 on JOIN_CONDITION
WHERE FILTER_CONDITION
The problem is that when OWB generates the code, the query will be like this:
Select *
From tab1 FULL OUTER JOIN tab2 on JOIN_CONDITION AND FILTER_CONDITION
As you know these 2 queries are not the same at all!
I don’t know how to make OWB generate my desired SQL. Please help me…Works ok on 11.2.0.3
Are you using "( + )" for join condition in joiner? Or, are you using "Join input role" parameter to define full outer join condition? Are you using oracle or ANSI syntax? -
I used the wrong password to join my new belkin wifi. Now that I have the correct password, I can not get the to the join screen with the space to type in the password. I continue to get the unable to join message. I have put the touch to sleep and I have turned on and off the wifi and join options on the Network screen page. Does anyone know how to get pass this block of the wrong password to a new page that will allow me to type in the correct password. I see there is a option that asks if I want to reset the network settings.. is that what I should do? and what does it erase when I do that? Thanks for any input anyone has.
Yes. Reset network settings. Head to Settings -> General -> Reset and tap Reset Network Settings.

Ok, I have deleted EVERYTHING off my 16gb ipad. Photos, music, apps. All I have are the standard apps. It says I have used 11gb and only have 1.6 left. When I first bought it I had up to 4 movies and lots of apps, no problems. What's going on please!?
How much space is used by your Other? You may be able to reduce.
How Do I Get Rid Of The “Other” Data Stored On My iPad Or iPhone?
http://tinyurl.com/85w6xwn
With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.
Cheers, Tom -
When I start Firefox, about 15 seconds after I start it, my Firefox freezes for about 1 minute. I found out that it is my Hotmail that makes Firefox freeze.
First I thought it was my computer, but I have 2 other girls in my class that use Hotmail and Firefox and their computer also freezes for 1 full minute.
This is very annoying, what can I do to change this?
