Using Java-Methods in SAP

Hi,
the regular way of SAP-Java Connection is a RFC-Model on SAP-Sight, and in Java I use this model with his functionality. But is there a opportunity for a contrary way? I have a function in Java, and I want to use it from the SAP-Backend.
Maybe I give an expample to describe the problem:
I have a Web-Application which generates pdf's. Now in the SAP Backend should be possibility to generate pdf's too. So I would like to use the WebDynpro-Service for SAP.
Do you have an idea?

Hi Stefan,
Have a look at the following series of blogs:
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs;jsessionid=(J2EE3414800)ID2111987450DB00660113557633924039End?blog=/pub/wlg/12136
This will guide you in achieving the purpose you want to.
Thanks.

  • Is there anyone using Java Methods interface of IREP in his application

    Hello everyone,
Are you using Java Methods interface of IREP in your application?
Nowadays I am trying to using Java Methods in my application. But I'm puzzled how to get the interface jar files that the Java Methods would import. It seems that Oracle doesn't provide such interface jar files for all Java Methods shipped in IREP. How do you do with this?
If you have some experience about using Java Methods in application, hope to hear your voice. Thanks in advance.

    Hi friend,
    Thanks for you update.
I'm referring to Java Methods that can be called directly by applications not Java Service Interface. These are two different kinds of IREP interfaces. In Oracle Integration Repository User's Guide, there aren't much guidance about how to use Java Methods.
I appreciate you can help me further.

  • UCCX 8 file paths for using java methods

    UCCX 8.0.2SU4
I am trying to use java methods to read an xml file out of the Document repository.  I was able to do this in UCCX 7 and prior, but in 8 it seems i need a different file path syntax for the 'java.io.file' variable.
    Example:
I would like to do the following:
    javaDoc =  new java.io.File(/opt/cisco/uccx/Documents/User/default/mydoc.xml)
    doesFileExist = javaDoc.exists()
I am not having success with these steps, as the result is always false, even though the file does exist.
    any help is appreciated.
    thanks,
    Mike

Your access to the file system is severly restricted. There are security measures in place that only allow you access to the "customer directory". You'll want to use a Create XML Document step to retrieve a file from the document repository using the DOC[/folder/file.xml] syntax. Note the root (i.e. the first forward slash) is the root of the document repository as seen in the /appadmin UI.

    Hi Kranthi,
You have option to read a cell content as html. else you will have to go for SDK. I think you will get better suggestions, if you can explain your requirement in a little detailed manner.
refer below links for more details about SDK.

  • I am using NetbeansIDE 5.5.1 In this, How to use java methods in xsl code ?

    Hi everybody,
I am using Netbeans IDE 5.5.1, In that i am trying to call java methods in XSL code?
Can anyone help me to provide the solution for this ????
    Note:
I wrote simple java class method to change the case of given input string.
    Also i compiled that class.
Now i need to know, where do i put that compiled class file or the source java file, to run my xsl code......
    Please reply soon..
    Thanks in advance....
    regards,
    Selva

Jim, that sounds like a good hypothesis. Yes, I am using smart previews. I have my originals on an external drive which is connected. Still, LR can not find them. Do you know how to tell LR where to find the originals? I would like LR to identify the source automatically: if external drive is connected LR should show "original and smart preview" not only "smart preview". Thanks for your help.

  • Help in using JAVA code in SAP XI

    Hi,
I have some java and jar files, I want to use those files through SAP XI.
    Scenario:
we need to do encryption of some data field which is coming as input to XI, Now here we have a readymade code for encryption in JAVA that we have to use. Now we have imported all the JAVA and jar files in the XI. and written a small code in XI editor which is calling some function of JAVA file. But we are getting error that system is not able to resolve the function name.
I think we need to define class path somewhere in XI.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Thanks.

    Hi Vin,
Here's all you should need to do:
    1) Import the jar files into the IR as an Imported Archive.
    2) You can then reference this from Message Maps (and XSLT maps). To do this in a Message Map:
    a) Create a user-defined function.
    b) Make sure to include the class in the import section. com.company.xi.MyClass for example.
The Imported Archive and the Message Map (or XSLT map) need to be in the same software component. If they're not, you'll need to setup dependencies in the SLD between the software components.
    Thanks,
    Jesse

  • Using Java keystores with SAP Netweaver for SSL

    Hi all,
I'm configuring Netweaver to use SSL and trying to reuse our client and server sertificates from the Tomcat, which are stored in java keystore files. What I've tried is to import the keystore file using the Import Keystore View function in NWA/KeyStorage GUI. I'm getting an error, when trying to do so. Is such a function supported by the Netweaver at all, so could I use standard java keystores somehow? What could I do alternatively?
    regards,

I have only "NegativeArraySizeException" displayed on the top of the NWA screen without any further details. I've also tried both .jks file extension or left it blank, the same error. The only workaround I've found at the moment is to export certificates to separate files one by one from my JKS (using JDK's keytool -export command) and then import them to the ICM_SSL_<instance> keystore view (using Import Entry button). Of course, it's only a workaround, because the amount of client certificates could grow significally for the productive system. So, I'm still looking for some solution to use standard Java Keystores (JKS) in NWA/KeyStorage

  • Change file mode using java?

    Hi
Can I change file mode using java method other than
    Runtime.exec()
    thx
    Jacinle

    Hi
Thank you Roopasri. But what I want is not using Runtime.exec
I am using Unix and I want to change some image file access mode
    so not a RandomAccess File.
So is there anything like chmod command on Unix?
    something like maybe java.io.File.chmod("755");
    I read that's a feature requested early on 1.2
Will it be included in 1.4?

  • Data transfer b/w SAP to Java using IDOC and Interface SAP Jco

    Dear Experts,
The challenging requirement we are having is, we need to create the interface for data transfer between SAP system and the Java system. The data will be transferred from SAP to java and similarly once some processing done in Java again the details needs to be transferred from Java to SAP.
For this data transferred we are planning to use IDOC process and for interface "SAP Java connector (Version 3.0.5)" we are planning to use. As per our understanding, from Java side one program needs to be written to connect with SAP as "Registered program". This registered program will appear in SAP GATEWAY automatically and using tRFC, TCP/IP connection both SAP and Java system will be connected.
In this case we are having some doubts.
    1. The data from SAP is going to be transfered from one Custom transaction (Z tcode). Once "Outbound IDOC" will get triggered and will carry the details. Now the doubt is, whether the data / details will get transfered to JAVA system automatically or we need to perform any other steps from SAP ABAP coding...(like converting in to flat file, XML file and etc) ??
    2. We are planning to install "SAP Jco" in Java server. Is this correct...??
    3. Other than SAP Jco any other softwares needs to be installed or not..??
    4. Since we are going to trigger the "outbound IDOC" from custom transaction, we are planning to develope one program in SE37. Other than this any other program we need to develop or not..??
    5. Any sample Java program for the SAP Jco version 3.0.5 to create the "Registered program" with SAP..? (e.g. SAP Listener program).?
If anybody has detailed steps or explanation please share it with us.
    Thanks in advance
    Warm Regards,
    VEL

    Hi All,
For the above mentioned issue, we implemented JCo software in JAVA system and created the JAVA program including SAP logon credential details like Client, User name, password and Language details.
When this JAVA program was compiled successfully then, that non SAP system will appear in SAP gateway Tcode.
Once non SAP system started appearing in SAP gateway that means, both SAP & Non SAP are connected automatically.

  • SAP BO Report Scheduling and Save as report using Java SDK

    Hi All,
We have a java product which is integrated with SAP BO using Java SDK and we have certain java screen through which we select report prompt values and webi report gets run.
Now we want to give a functionality to save report to BO repository.
When user select certain check box from java screen a separate copy of the webi report should get saved under default folder on BO repository.
Also, we want user to choose the scheduling option from java screen only (and not the one which we use from BI Launchpad) due to certain access restriction. User does not have access to BI Launchpad. Only he can run report by selecting values through Java screen.
If i need to create a separate screen for scheduling as well as saving webi report then also i am ok with it.
P.S. i guess we need to work on Java SDK level. But could somebody please help me with the right direction?
Let me know in case requirement is not clear.

    Hi Ketan,
As you are on version BI 4.0 SP5 and would be migrating to BI 4.1, the best SDKs to use would be the Restful Webservices SDKs.
You have the options to schedule a webi report with prompts as well as the save feature which you require.
Please refer to the webi restful guides avialble at
    For BI 4.0 SP5
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir4/en/xi4sp5_webi_restful_ws_en.pdf
    For BI 4.1 SP4

  • How can I use Seeburger java functions on SAP XI's user defined functions?

    Hi All,
As my title implies; how can I use Seeburger java functions on SAP XI's user defined functions?  I've tried searching over the net in tutorials regarding this topic but I failed to find one; can someone provide me information regarding my question? thanks very much.
    best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike !
You should check your documentation about which java classes you need to reference in the "import" section of your UDF. And also deploy the java classes into the java stack or include them as a imported archive in integration repository...it should be stated in the seeburger documentation.
What kind of functions are you trying to use?

  • System copy for ABAP+JAVA system using SAPINST method

    Dear support,
We have recently upgraded to ECC 6.0 system and we have been still doing system copy by using backup and restore method. I know its<b> wrong</b>.
which involves below steps , this old methos works fine for ABAP engine and evreything looks ok.But java engine will not work.
So we need to use SAPINST method as described in note 785848 and system copy guide available on OSS. But i am really not able to understand sequence
for tasks to be carried out in this SAPINST method.
<b>Can anybody list few sequence along with step by step procedure as i mentioned below for old system copy procedure.</b>
Is it really difficult to make that for <b>SAPINST</b>  as everybody says refer to standard guide and note ?
Anybody if possible can make the same way as i did below , i think it would rather be small as far as my understanding after reading those docs.
Simple old system copy procedure works for ABAP is as:
Run the following command on source system.
    a. Login as <sid>adm
    b. svrmgrl
    c. connect internal
    d. alter database backup controlfile to trace;
    e. exit;
    f. Above command will generate a .trc file in /oracle/P01/saptrance/usertrace directory.
    g. Copy the text from CREATE CONTROLFILE until the ( and paste it in to any new .sql or controlfile.sql file.
    h. Copy the controlfile.sql to target system.
    i. Edit the file and replace the entire source SID to target SID.
    j. Edit the reuse database command with the set database command
Copy the aft generated during the backup file from the source system to target system. (/oracle/<SID>/sapbackup)
    a. Change all the source <SID> to target <SID>.
    b. Only don't change the backup volume name it must be target system <SID>.
    c. Copy the above aft file name line from the source back<SID>.log to target<SID>.log file.
    5. Shutdown the target server instance.
    6. From this onwards all the command on the target system only.
    a. Login as <SID>adm
    b. run the SAPDBA
    c. select J (Restore/Recovery)
    d. select B (Full restore and recovery)
    e. select A (Select backup of type)
    f. Select the offline backup which you want to restore.
    g. It will take some time to restore.
    h. Once the database is restored login as <SID>adm and run the
    i. svrmgrl
    j. connect internal;
    k. startup nomount (if the database is already mounted shutdown it using the shutdown command)
    l. run the following command
    m. @controlfile.sql (file name of the control file contains the CREATE CONTROLFILE statement)
    n. After the run the above command it should give the "Statement Processed)
    o. alter database open resetlogs.
I am really looking forward to see anybody take some time out to prepare this kind of step by step procedure.
It would be of greate help for all of us for performing system copy with sapinst method.
    Looking forward for your support.
    Best Regards,
    AjitR

    Hi,
As per the guide you need to do source system Technical Preparations, in that running the export preparation is also one. You need to run this first before you start the export, if and only if export will successful if preparation is successful.
Yes you need to create the export directory to take the export copy of source system, it may be any where in your server. It should be having 6 to 8 GB free space. No need to create the export directory in target system, after export is completed in the source system you copy the export directory to the target system.
    <b>Target system</b>
Yes you need to take the back up file system and delete all the contents of the directory.
Yes it can be considered as fresh system installation but copy of source system.
Yes the process follows after you giving the export directory path .
Next screen you will get the database drop and recreate screen chouse the drop and recreate method
Next J2EE user name and password
    Next DDIC password
Next you have to give kernel and oracle client dvd path
Next Parameter checking screen here if you are selected database drop and recreate you have to revise the oracle database system option
If you are selecting review next screen is database advance option you have to select the advanced option
Next you have to select following option to recreate
    1 Sapdata directory mapping
    2 Database instance file system
    3 Create database parameter
    4 Create tablespace
    Next screen sapdata directory creating
Next screen you can just click next no need to change any setting
