  • How to Compile Jsp File in Class File , Protect my JSP from outworld

    Hello Friends
    My name is chandra prakash, I'm new for u. I've develop a web based software completely in JSP, some files are also written in Java Script. This software have aprox. 40 files --> 30 in JSP + 2 in Java Script + 8 image files .
    Each JSP calls another. and run this on 58 clints machine simultaneusly. we used Oracle 9iAS as back end and Oracle9iAS web Server . Where we found less clients like 20-30 we use Tomcat 5.0 web server .Sir problem is this we don't wan't to leave our jsp source code on server.
    Is any method or third party tool by which we can convert our JSP source file in CLASS file as like real class files provide by javac.
    For this perpose we make a folder and put all files in it. Create a context on Tomcat for this folder.Create a data source for this in tomcat. Bcase this program uses Data source and connect many times to database & fetches many type of data from database. We use servlet files of tomcat for this context in WORK folder of Tomcat. and after that rename our Source file Folder. and again run our program through batch file i'm strange program runs 2-3 steps, after few times it start producing errors.
    Sir do u hava work on this field can u help me to protect this JSP source code.
    I've Use Jikes.com compiler but not get any succes, It may be i'm not using correctly .
    Pls sir give me any suggesition.

    1. Highlight your web project or the individual file
    2. Right click
    3. Select Rebuild to build all jsp files or Make to rebuilt only changed files

    I'm applying patch on EBS 11.5.9, now it's compiling jsp file for about 1hours.
    Below is the log file,What is the command you use to compile JSP file?
    It is normal for compiling JSP files to run for more than 1 hour, which depends on the hardware resources you have. So, I would suggest you wait and see if the job completes successfully.

  • How to use mxml in a jsp file?

    I'm trying to use flex in a .jsp file. I followed the
    suggestion that I use the Flex 2 Tag library as suggested by this
    link:
    http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Flex_2_Tag_Library_for_JSP#Download_and_Installation
    but I couldn't find it. I also downloaded LiveCycle Data Services
    ES but couldn't find the flex-bootstrap.jar.
    I have a simple example:
    <!--<%@ taglib uri="FlexTagLib" prefix="mm" %>-->
    Use the <mxml> tag to insert a Flex application in an
    existing JSP page. The following example shows the <mxml> tag
    with the source attribute to include an external MXML file:
    <mm:mxml source="CustomerServiceChat.mxml"/>
    Alternatively, you can use the <mxml> tag with inline
    MXML source code, as the following example shows:
    <mm:mxml>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="
    http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
    xmlns="*">
    <mx:Text label="Hello World">
    </mx:Application>
    </mm:mxml>
    I also added the following code in my web.xml:
    <taglib>
    <taglib-uri>FlexTagLib</taglib-uri>
    <taglib-location>/WEB-INF/lib/flex-bootstrap.jar</taglib-location>
    </taglib>
    and obviously I get an error because I don't have the
    flex-bootstrap.jar file. Please let me know how this can be
    corrected. Thanks in advance!

  • Problem in compiling jsp file

    Hi,
    i am using tomcat 4.12 and jdk 1.4.
    My login page contains 3 frames. after succesful login into ur application, 7 frames are getting called.
    i have called a jsp page for each frame.
    sometimes while accessing my application, i am getting jasper exception like cannot resolve symbol....
    for example
    D:\Program Files\Apache Group\Tomcat 4.1\work\Standalone\localhost\sample\web\helpdesklogin_jsp.java:404: cannot resolve symbol
    symbol : method --ite  (java.lang.String)
    location: class javax.servlet.jsp.JspWriter
    out.write("<tr bgcolor=\"ffffff\">\r\n ");
    i do not understand the what is the problem here....
    likewise i am getting jasper exception. but it is not frequently occured in the frame.
    is there any relation with autoflush page directive attribute...?
    if it then should i increase default buffer size ?
    Reply please
    Thanks

    Your helpdesklogin.jsp file has a compilation error. It's hard to tell, but it looks like you mis-typed out.write() somewhere.

  • Problem compiling jsp file

    I am using ant to precompile my jsp files which contains struts taglibs but it is giving an error
    [jasperc] error:org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Error compiling \attendance\AllPendingAuthentication.jsp
    [jasperc] at org.apache.jasper.JspC.processFile(JspC.java:543)
    [jasperc] at org.apache.jasper.JspC.execute(JspC.java:748)
    [jasperc] at org.apache.jasper.JspC.main(JspC.java:770)
    what i need to do to come out of this??

    You can load the JSP in the browser and add a jsp_precompile parameter, something like:
    http://yourwebsite.com/yourwebpage.jsp?jsp_precompile
    Any mistakes will end up being displayed in the browser, but the JSP will never get executed should it contain no programming mistakes.

  • Unable to compile .jsp files with Jakarta Tomcat 5.5.3

    Hello,
    I am unable to reflect the changes that I am making in my .jsp files on my server. I am using Fedora core 4. It's like the .jsp files are not being compiled anymore. Please help! I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Thanks for your time.

    Thanks for your reply. My .jsp files where working just fine before I changed the layout of the output. Even making changes to a simple file that contains: <% out.println("Welcome to the jsp page!"); %> to the following: <% out.println("Welcome to the jsp page! Today is the day!"); %> does not work. I have cleared the browser by deleting all cookies, temp files, history, etc. The changes to my file are not being compiled. I thought that in JSP 2.0 changes to your files where compiled automatically. Am I missing something? Please help!

  • Need help in using SQL in a jsp file to compare date and time

    hi every one,
    Actually I am doing a project using JSP. I need to compare a date field in the database (MS Acess) to the current system date and time. I have to do this in a select statement.
    I have alredy defined a variable of type Date in the JSP file and I am comparing this variable to the date in the database through a select statemant.
    Here is what I am doing
    SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss");
              java.util.Date today = new java.util.Date();
              String myDate=sdf.format(today);
    query = "SELECT Car_ID, Model_ID, Year, Ext_Color, Price from Cars where EDate <= "+myDate+" ;";
    EDate is the feild in the database and it's format is (5/12/2008 5:29:47 PM) it is of type Date/Time in MS Acess.
    when I execute the query it gives the following error
    SQL error:java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'EDate <= 2008-10-16 08:10:07'.
    I hope any one can help me with that error and answer my question, I've tried too many things but nothing helps
    Thanks in advance :-)

    Hi,
    When the comparision is needed to be done with the current date , we don't need to send in Java
    Date then format it and compare with MS Acess Date.
    In MS Access we have Date() function which will give you the current date.
    So you can try rewriting your query as following :
    query = "SELECT Car_ID, Model_ID, Year, Ext_Color, Price from Cars where EDate <= Date() ;"; ---------------------
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Using TomCat to view JSP files

    I've installed tomcat for the purpose of viewing jsp files.
    In which folder am i supposed to place the jsp files to view them?
    Also, what address am i supposed to type in my browser ( http://localhost:8080/myJspFile.jsp ?????? )
    My tomcat folder is e:\tomcat
    and JAVA_HOME is d:\jdk1.3
    Thank you

    Here is a good link for you to start from
    http://www.moreservlets.com/Using-Tomcat-4.html#Try-Pages
    http://localhost:8080/myJspFile.jsp
    This looks right unless you have changed your port setting which the link above shows you how to change the port setting to port 80 so you dont have to type http://localhost:8080/blah it would http://localhost/blah.
    You_tomcat_install/webapps/ROOT
    or
    You_tomcat_install/webapps/ROOT/some_dir
    Anyways good luck and go to that link I gave you and it should help you out alot.

  • Compiling JSP files

    Hi,
    I want to work JSP files with the help of Eclipse. I had the plugin for Tomcat also, all i need is the process of where to store the JSP files and how to compile them with eclipse.

    You don't compile JSPs from within Eclipse.
    JSPs - along with other content like static HTML files, images and style sheets - must be packaged up into a WAR file and deployed to Tomcat. Tomcat then unpacks the WAR, and when you try to access a JSP for the first time, Tomcat converts the JSP to a standard Java class (actually a servlet) and compiles the Java code.
    You don't say what plugin you have, but you can for example write an Ant task that will bundle up the files into a WAR and then copy that WAR into Tomcat's webapps directory.

  • Problem Compiling JSP files

    I am unable to compile my jsp file whan they are kept in public_html?I have javac in d:\jdk1.2\bin.I installed my weblogic in d:\weblogic.Any help in this regard is very highly apriciated.I really need it very badly.

    add C:\Tomcat\webapps\examples\WEB-INF\classes to your classpath.
    You can do this through the control panel or by:
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;C:\Tomcat\webapps\examples\WEB-INF\classes

  • Where does WebLogic search the compiled JSP files?

    Hi,
              I have done several tests with WebLogic and JSP files.
              I have observed that when the JSP is requested the first time it is
              compiled and saved in c:\weblogic\myserver\classfiles\jsp_servlet
              If I request the same JSP again, it won't be compiled again. I
              suppoussed it was because the compiled JSP (*.class) was created. Then I
              deleted the compiled JSP and when I call the JSP again it run perfectly
              without a new compilation.
              Where are really those JSPs?
              Thanks in advance,
              Chemi.

              No clue. But as somebody else has said, touching the jsp files WILL
              force recompilation if you gor your JSP engine setting correct (check
              seconds set to zero).
              My guess is that all AppSrv would have this feature, because it comes
              for free with usual classloaders, i.e. it would be MORE trouble to not
              have this feature than to have it.
