Using knowledge module LKM Oracle to Oracle (DBLINK)

Hi,
I'm using in an interface the LKM oracle to oracle(dblink) because my source and target data store are oracle. I run my interface but the operator give me the following error:
1729 : 42000 : java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01729: database link name expected
In the descriptions there is this implementation:
create database link
connect to          APPS
identified by          <@=snpRef.getInfo("SRC_PASS") @>
using          ''
So it seems that it doesn't create the database link, also if i have set the AUTO_CREATE_DB_LINK to Yes!
Why? Someone can help me? How can I set the database link?
Thanks

Hi,
go to your Physical Server and put the DBLink name on correspondent box at first edit window...
Does it help you?

  • Get sql*net to use perl module (DBI and DBD::Oracle)

    Hi,
    I'm doing a perl script which tests oracle database availability
    Now to install it on a Unix computer i need some Oracle files to use the DBI and DBD::Oracle module
    I saw in differents forums that i need to install SQL*NET to have those files but i know few things about Oracle products and then i don't know which package i have to download to have it.
    If someone have the answer please mail me !!([email protected])
    Thanks a lot
    Nicolas Minant

    Ok, so i got it working as below. putting the details steps for someone to refer (or may myself in future if i forget)
    - Install Perl DBI module
    - install below 3 rpm for oracle instant client from (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/linuxx86-64soft-092277.html)
    oracle-instantclient11.2-basic-11.2.0.3.0-1
    oracle-instantclient11.2-devel-11.2.0.3.0-1
    oracle-instantclient11.2-sqlplus-11.2.0.3.0-1
    I am using 64 bit linux box, so choose your RPM accordingly.
    - set below variables:
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/oracle/11.2/client64/lib
    ORACLE_HOME=/usr/lib/oracle/11.2/client64
    also add ORACLE_HOME to your PATH variable
    - download DBD::Oracle ver 1.44 from
    - untar the module and run below commands in given sequence:
    perl Makefile.PL
    make
    make install
    DONE !!!
    Issues I had faced were due to the wrong LD_LIBRARY_PATH. i had set it to "/usr/lib/oracle/11.2/client64" whereas the correct value is "/usr/lib/oracle/11.2/client64/lib"
    certainly, this was a great learning for a newbie like me. i have spent 8 years as Linux sysadmin and have done a lot of perlscripting bt never had to deal with oracle stuff ever. hence this was a learning for me.
    Thanks everyone for your responses. you guys pushed me to right direction. thanks for the Great HELP.

  • Flat file to Oracle using --- LKM File to Oracle (SQLLDR)

    Hello All,
    I am planning to replicate simple sqlldr process below in ODI. Two things I cannot do, 1) I cannot modify exisiting tables for creating new sequences 2) We need SEQ column to start with 1 always(tried sequence in odi, didn't work as expected). I am not really good at jython nor java to be able to code "SEQ SEQUENCE (MAX,1) " process in knowledge module(LKM File to Oracle (SQLLDR)) during control file creation. please advice.
    thanks in advance.
    OPTIONS ( SKIP=0)
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE 'e:\Hyperion\DRM\Loadfile\wfc\WFC_1GLO_LE.txt'
    BADFILE 'E:\Hyperion\ODI\Logs\WFC_1GLO_LE.bad'
    DISCARDFILE 'E:\Hyperion\ODI\Logs\WFC_1GLO_LE.dsc'
    TRUNCATE INTO TABLE "MDM_STAGE"."WFC_1GLO_WFLE"
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY X'9'
    TRAILING NULLCOLS
    SEQ SEQUENCE (MAX,1),
    PARENT,
    CHILD,
    CHILD_ALIAS,
    ATTRIBUTE1,
    ATTRIBUTE2,
    ATTRIBUTE3)

    You must modify LKM/IKM to create new sequence for each table. Typically, you should load the file into a C$ table in LKM and then call the sequence to get new key ids in IKM stage. But you can do this in LKMif you know what you are doing.
    Duplicate LKM or IKM (in this case, LKM File to Oracle (SQLLDR)). Add two steps to the LKM before load step. In the first new step, add drop sequence statement like DROP SEQUENCE <%=odiRef.getTable("L", "TARG_NAME", "W")%>SEQ. Mark this step as "Ignore Error" so that load does not fail when sequence would not exist during the first run. In the second new step, create the sequence <%=odiRef.getTable("L", "TARGNAME", "W")%>_SEQ. That way your sequence value will start from 1 always. Be careful during the incremental run though.
    Happy debugging.

    Which agent are you using to execute?
    Standalone? If standalone, did you start it with OPMN?  I've seen such issues with standalone agent started with OPMN.
    Generally these kind of issues occur when you try to run with standalone agent started with OPMN.
    Because OPMN does not have access to the environment shell variables PATH or ORACLE_HOME and therefore the sqlldr.exe binary (or other Oracle product binary) is not found for execution.
    In this case, you need to specify PATH and ORACLE_HOME variables in opmn.xml file like below for your agent(say "MyStandaloneAgent" in this case)
    <ias-component id="MyStandaloneAgent">
    <process-type id="odiagent" module-id="CUSTOM">
      <environment>
         <variable id="ORACLE_HOME" value="C:\oracle\product\11.2.0\client_1"/>
          <variable id="PATH" value="C:\oracle\product\11.2.0\client_1\BIN;$PATH"/>
    After that, start and stop the agent and try the execution once again.

  • LKM Oracle to Oracle (DBLINK)

    As it says in the component description - "This module is recommended when developing interfaces between two Oracle servers." As that's what we're dealing with, we make it the default KM for our ELT interface development.
    I have three questions relating to this module:
    (1) For interfaces between two Oracle servers - would you choose this LKM as your preferred loading module?
    (2) When creating many interfaces (say a hundred), would you create a permanent public database link or use the AUTO_CREATE_DB_LINK option that comes with the loading module? Ie. have the module auto-create and drop a db link.
    (3) If using the AUTO_CREATE_DB_LINK option, we open the module, make it the default KM for this pair of Technologies and set it to true under "Options" (the default is false) and save it. However when creating a new interface, we go onto the "Flow" tab and there we find in the LKM, the AUTO_CREATE_DB_LINK defaulting to false - not true. Have we missed something?
    Thanks.

    Will create a DBLink explecitely . Otherwise if one interface I1 is running it will create DB Link say D1 , now another interface I2 starts execution . It will first drop existing DB Link D1 and create it once again. I1 execution will fail if it still requires D1.
    (3) If using the AUTO_CREATE_DB_LINK option, we open the module, make it the default KM for this pair of Technologies and set it to true under "Options" (the default is false) and save it. Expand LKM Oracle to Oracle (DBLINK)
    Open option AUTO_CREATE_DB_LINK by double clicking onto it
    Goto default value and form drop down set it to YES

  • Unusual behavior with 'IKM Oracle Incremental Update' knowledge module

    Hi All,
    We are getting strange behaviour in our PIP.We have following three scenarios in our PIP.
    1) LOAD_ORACLEEBIZ_PROCESSMFG_BULK_LOT_DATA_TO_PAS_PKG
    2) LOAD_ORACLEEBIZ_DISCRETEMFG_WORKORDER_DATA_TO_PAS_PKG
    3) LOAD_ORACLEEBIZ_PROCESSMFG_WORKORDER_DATA_TO_PAS_PKG
    we have a project variable PVV_GET_SCEN_NAME which will hold the scenario name in that package.
    we are trying to modify the 'IKM Oracle Incremental Update' knowledge module, we have written following code.this code will match the content of I$ table with target table based on various columns.if they are matching we will delete the matching rows from target table. But when we are executing scenario "LOAD_ORACLEEBIZ_PROCESSMFG_BULK_LOT_DATA_TO_PAS_PKG",then the wrong IF condition is getting matched in the following procedure.
    the condition that is getting matched is "ELSIF ('#ORACLEEBIZ_TO_PAS_PROJECT.PVV_GET_SCEN_NAME'='LOAD_ORACLEEBIZ_DISCRETEMFG_WORKORDER_DATA_TO_PAS_PKG') THEN".Actually the value of #ORACLEEBIZ_TO_PAS_PROJECT.PVV_GET_SCEN_NAME will be LOAD_ORACLEEBIZ_PROCESSMFG_BULK_LOT_DATA_TO_PAS_PKG.i am not sure why odi is matching this condition.
    Please provide your comments on this issue.thanks in advace.
    IKM step:
    BEGIN
    IF '#PVV_GET_SCEN_NAME'='LOAD_ORACLEEBIZ_PROCESSMFG_BULK_LOT_DATA_TO_PAS_PKG' THEN
    DELETE FROM <%=odiRef.getTable("L", "TARG_NAME", "W")%> WHERE (item_number,lot_number,source_system) IN

    COMMIT;
    ELSIF '#PVV_GET_SCEN_NAME'='LOAD_ORACLEEBIZ_DISCRETEMFG_WORKORDER_DATA_TO_PAS_PKG' THEN

    NULL;
    END IF;
    END;
    Thanks

    Hi Himanshu,
    Thanks for your help.
    I gave fully qualified name,even then it didn't worked.
    - How are you deriving the value of variable
    project variable PVV_GET_SCEN_NAME is refreshing variable and it will get the value of scenario with the following sql query
    select SESS_NAME
    from <%=snpRef.getObjectName("L","SNP_SESSION","D")%>
    where SESS_NO = <%=snpRef.getSession("SESS_NO")%>
    -Log or store the value of variable as comment in IKM sql query using "-- #varvalue" and note the value is same as compared
    When i gave --#varvalue (or) --#ORACLEEBIZ_TO_PAS_PROJECT.PVV_GET_SCEN_NAME is doesnot display any thing.what i did is I changed the PVV_GEN_SCEN_NAME variable to hostorize variable to see correct value of that and after the executing the scenario,i can see the value as "LOAD_ORACLEEBIZ_PROCESSMFG_BULK_LOT_DATA_TO_PAS_PKG".I also tried same thing by changing technology to jython and i am able to see same value "LOAD_ORACLEEBIZ_PROCESSMFG_BULK_LOT_DATA_TO_PAS_PKG" for the PVV_GET_SCEN_NAME variable.
    Thanks

  • Are there any Oracle OLAP ODI Knowledge Modules for Oracle Olap 11g ?

    Hi guys, wasnt sure where to post this so I put it here and the ODI forum
    Does anybody know when Oracle OLAP Knowledge Modules, will be available for Oracle Olap 11g. It appears that the knowledge modules released with Oracle Data Integrator 10.1.3.5, currently only work with Oracle Olap 10g...
    If there is no timeline, does anybody know of work around to get ODI reverses working on Analytical Workspaces built in Oracle Olap 11g
    Thank you
    Richard

    Raise a service request with Oracle Support (Metalink) for your system slow issue. May be, they will recommend you the workarounds for the issues which are not yet available for 11g in the form of Patches.

  • Where Dir is creating while using LKM -- File To Oracle(sqlldr) ?

    Hi All,
    I have created an interface (file -table) where I am using LKM -- File To Oracle(sqlldr) .
    But I am getting error -- at the time of creating DIR
    Error :-- Caused By: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges

    I have requested DBA to give permission for this user to create Dir.
    But he is asking which Directory he should give permission to create directory.
    -- Kindly provide a directory on the server. I will create an Oracle Directory object on it and give read and write privilege to "XYZ" schema.
    1> can any body help me that where this LKM is creating the DIR by default.I mean in which path.
    2> My other query is from where I can get the Agent log. If I have to set up for the log path then from where to set up?
    Not:- I am using ODI 11G
            DB server is different from where ODI is installed.
    Thanks,

    I looked into the KM steps and seems like the file is created in the same directory as your source file.
    Agent log can be found under <server>/logs/oracledi for jee agent or under oracledi/log for standalone agent. For more info please check  Troubleshooting Oracle Data Integrator - 11g Release 5 (11.1.5)

    1. ) I tried to give the IntegrationAdmin and IntegrationDeployer roles to my admin user. in fact i also tried to give it all the possible privileges.
    Result: Still the same error message.

    This is really putting me off and its really disappointing to see all these issues in this new release.
    How can oracle let a release slip in with such a Major Issue.
    Please can any one help or provide a work around atleast.
    Regards
    Nitin

    I guess till version 10gr3.1 you only needed to start one server and it allowed to access both admin and service bus console.Yes, in 11g as well you may access the admin and OSB console by just starting the admin server but in 11g OSB configuration gets deployed on OSB server (managed server) and test service also runs over this server.
    Are you saying there is some other server I need to start just for running the test console ????Yes. Managed server osb_server1 needs to be started for deploying, testing and accessing OSB resources.
    As If the OSB server was not running how can I check my published services, modify them and do all the bits and pieces after opening the open the service bus console but not just test them???You can modify and save your configuration without staring OSB server but if you will check in change centre then all the changes being done without starting OSB server will remain in partially activated state.
    I have been using the service bus for 3 years and I have never faced any such issue.With each new release you may get new features and with a major release like 11g, architecture and functionality may change.
    If it all there is some other server I need to start then whats the process to do so ??Open command prompt. Navigate to $Domain_Home/bin and run command
    startManagedWeblogic.cmd <nameOfManagedServer>
    for eg. -
    D:\OFMW11g\mw\user_projects\domains\ofmw_domain\bin>startManagedWebLogic.cmd osb_server1
    Once this server is up and running, try using test console.

  • Where can I change the buffer size for LKM File to Oracle (EXTRENAL TABLE)?

    Hi all,
    I'd a problem on the buffer size the "LKM File to Oracle (EXTRENAL TABLE)" as follow:
    2801 : 72000 : java.sql.SQLException: ORA-12801: error signaled in parallel query server P000
    ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEFETCH callout
    ORA-29400: data cartridge error
    KUP-04020: found record longer than buffer size supported, 524288, in D:\OraHome_1\oracledi\demo\file\PARTIAL_SHPT_FIXED_NHF.dat
    Do you know where can I change the buffer size?
    Remarks: The size of the file is ~2Mb.
    Tao

    Hi,
    The behavior is explained in Bug 4304609 .
    You will encounter ORA-29400 & KUP-04020 errors if the RECORDSIZE clause in the access parameters for the ORACLE_LOADER access driver is larger than 10MB and you are loading records larger than 10MB. Which means their is a another limitation on read size of a record which is termed as granule size. If the default granule size is less then RECORDSIZE it limits the size of the read buffer to granule size.
    Use the pxxtgranule_size parameter to change the size of the granule to a number larger than the size specified for the read buffer.You can use below query to determine the current size of the granule.
    SELECT KSPFTCTXPN PARAMETER_NUMBER,
    KSPPINM PARAMETER_NAME,
    KSPPITY PARAMETER_TYPE,
    KSPFTCTXVL PARAMETER_VALUE,
    KSPFTCTXDF IS_DEFAULT,
    KSPPIFLG MODIFICATION_FLAG,
    KSPFTCTXVF VALUE_FLAG
    FROM X$KSPPI X, X$KSPPCV2 Y
    WHERE (X.INDX+1) = KSPFTCTXPN AND
    KSPPINM LIKE '%_px_xtgranule_size%';
    There is no 'ideal' or recommended value for pxxtgranule_size parameter, it is safe to increase it to work around this particular problem. You can set this parameter using ALTER SESSION/SYSTEM command.
    SQL> alter system set "_px_xtgranule_size"=10000;
    Thanks,

  • Problem in control file created through  LKM File to Oracle (SQLLDR)

    I have a fixed file ABC.txt & it has three fields/columns of length ,C1:= 4, C2 :=10 & C3:=6 & I have to use LKM File to Oracle (SQLLDR) to load data into oracle target table.
    I recieved the following error at step CALL SQLLDR in the KM
    "org.apache.bsf.BSFException: exception from Jython: Traceback (innermost last):

    Then I checked the control file log & found that the position start value & end value was not defined in control file which is created automatically by LKM
    SQL*Loader-350: Syntax error at line 14.

    Edited by: neeraj_singh on Mar 3, 2011 1:25 AM

    Hi Neeraj,
    It is happening because you have not selected the mapping execution area as STAGUING .
    Open your interface , click on each and every column of your target datastore , make sure the "Execute On" is marked on "Staging Area".
    Then run your interface.
    Thanks,
    Sutirtha
