Using loadMovie() in BREW with ".bar" file

I want to develop a demo brew application in flashlite. The
BREW uses ".bar" files for external resources like images, sound
etc. I just want to know how to use external source in flashlite.
I tried it with loadMovie() function but with loadMovie() I
can only load external swf file and images.
As flashlite suggests to use any swf file with extension
".bar" like "example.swf.bar", I want to load all images into the
"example.swf.bar" and use these into my application. I did it with
loadMovie(), it is workin fine but I'm not able to access and
manipulate the movieclips which are in "example.swf.bar" file.
can anyone tell me how to use external images with ".bar"
files in flashlite?

don't know if you still got the question but our Brew Dev. modified the  loadMovie() function a bit and then it worked, should also be on the forum somewhere

    Using an external drive with shared files (iPhoto, iTunes), attached to a Time Capsule, can the contents of the external drive be backed-up to the internal Time Capsule drive? Perhaps a RAID1 mirror to a partitioned Time Capsule? I understand that the Time Machine (software) cannot backup a networked drive (the external) and that Time Capsule (the router/wireless hard drive) does not have its own backup software... so it won't backup the connected drive. What I would like is an alternate solution for having an automated backup of a networked drive. A 2TB Time Capsule has more than enough space for Time Machine backups of my family of Macbooks, so I had hoped to mirror a 500GB external drive (with shared media files) to a portion of the Time Capsule internal hard drive. I assume this would require a partition of the Time Capsule drive. If not, would the sparse file from the various computers being backed up need to be copied to the external drive as part of the RAID1 setup? This seems like overkill for the Time Machine backup, but it would cover the media files.

    The complexity with this idea is the software has to run from a Mac computer on your network.. so you need a Mac turned on, probably most of the day.
    It isn't possible to partition the TC although you can create a image area.
    The software would have to copy the material, that means all files to be copied, go from USB drive, back to the Mac, then back to the TC, and written to the drive. In other words you have just added Network congestion, although a proper incremental backup type software will not actually use a lot of capacity.
    Finally it will be slow.. network drives are slower than internal drives. Well USB connected drive is much slower than the same drive connected directly to the computer.. and if the drive is connected directly to a computer it can be shared with the network.

    Read carefully the speed of the USB drive plugged into the TC.

  • Use Creative Cloud extract with .ai files

    I've been reading up on using Creative Cloud to be able to upload and interact with .psd files.  It looks like a great function for me to be able to interact with the developers I work with.  Only thing is that I design in illustrator.  Is it possible to use this in congestion with .ai files instead?  Or would I have to export my designs as .psd first?

    Thanks for the quick reply!
    So I can convert from .ai to .psd - do you know if there are any issues with doing this?  Or is there a best practise at all?

  • How do i use a flash gallery with xml file

    Hi there....
    I am trying to include a flash banner template i have downloaded into my webpage using dreamweaver CS5.
    the template comes with an XML file with it in which you can reference your own images etc..
    I understand how to inclued the Flash object into my webpage by insert-swf- and then navigating to the .swf file...
    what i am having trouble with is understanding how this refereces the XML file in the download pack as i cant find any references to it in the code??
    I am just getting the grey flash box with no images appearing when i hit play etc..
    sorry if this is a really silly question!!

    If you are using DW to insert the Flash, that could be the problem.  It is not reliable resource in that respect (my opinion, but a shared one). I normally only use Flash to create the code and copy/paste it into my html page.  Did you get an fla file with the set, and do you have Flash?
    What you should do is test the swf file by itself to make sure it works.   Normally you can link directly to the swf file to check that out.  Just type in the url to the swf file and see if it plays.  There may be some other setup required that maybe an accompanying set of instructions might explain.
    Also, if you have a link to the html file you uploaded, providing it here may help in getting things resolved.

  • Reliably use one external drive with iTunes files with two computers?

    Hi all,
    I have an iMac with a 200GB external firewire drive as my main desktop. I also have a 12" Powerbook that I use around the house. I've also used the PB to stream music from my iMac to my stereo. I have the odd bit of trouble with this, music stopping and not reconnecting etc.
    We had a party last weekend and to stop the problems with wireless streaming occuring, I unplugged my firewire drive from my iMac and plugged it in downstairs to my Powerbook.
    To get the files to appear in iTunes on the PB, I had to drag everything across to from the finder to iTunes. After a while everything was there.
    The party went well: one visit from environmental health telling us to turn things down, and one visit to accident and emergency.
    Next day, I returned my firewire drive to to my iMac and now every track in itunes has an exclamation mark next to it.
    I know how to sort this out, and I'm not bothered about losing my playlists: what I want to know is a safe method to allow me to move my harddrive around and make sure it's all OK when I plug it into my iMac again.
    Any ideas?
    I suppose I probably left on the "Organise the music into folders" option when I first plugged in the drive to my PB and the files have actually moved a bit. Would making sure that this was set on both machines be a food thing to do?
    Cheers
    Stuart

    I suppose I probably left on the "Organise the music into folders" option when I first plugged in the drive to my PB and the files have actually moved a bit. Would making sure that this was set on both machines be a food thing to do?
    That probably changed the file locations, presumed the 'Organize' option was turned off on your iMac.
    Now your 'iTunes Library' file (iTunes' database) on the iMac can't find the files.
    It's a good thing to have the option turned on (or off) on every Mac you connect your external drive to.
    I used to have my library on an external disk too. The only thing I had to take into account was to copy the 'iTunes Library' file from one computer to the other when connecting my external HD.
    Never ran into problems.
    More info about the library files here.
    If you're running OS X 10.4, you could create an Automator workflow to copy the file to your external HD and another one to copy it from the external HD to the Powerbook.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to use Adobe Flash Player with .swf files?

    Hey,
    I have a .swf file that I'am trying to open but it seems that I can't. Is there any way that I can use Flash Player to do so?
    The .swf I'm trying to open is a game, when i right-click on it and i click on Open With, I don't see Flash Player as one of the options.
    Can you help me please? Thanks alot!!!

    There IS a standalone Flash Player but is's part of Flash Professional. You'd need to purchase it (or download a 30 day trial, but I don't know if the Flash Player would keep working after the trial expires).

  • Using Photoshop Elements 12 with SkyDrive files.

    I have all of my photos in a picture file on my Microsoft SkyDrive.  They are well organized and work well on my Desktop.  I would like to be able to work on my laptop as well which has (by definition) they exact same pictures and structure.  Is it possible to work that way?

    Thanks for your reply 99jon.
    Images are perfect in iPhoto, Preview, Aperture 3 and DPP. I got Photoshop Elements for two specific tasks that the other software doesn't do. Resizing and putting borders on files for printing and inverting images of copied negatives. I can still do this but I find that the edges are so jagged that it is hard to use Elements 12 for anything else. The text looks jagged / pixellated too not just the image.
    If I take the image resized in Elements 12 and look at it in iPhoto it looks fine. So if Elements is not optimised for the Retina display am I stuck with how it looks? I start with large Raw files too. They get converted to .jpg to go to the printer.

  • WADK components & setting used for power management with answer file for windows 8.1 ent

    hello,
    I have to deploy windows 8.1 ent device with MDT answer file related to power management  with customized  following settings:
    High performances
    sleep timeout settings
    standby or sleep and hibernate setting
    Enable critical battery task.
    But don't know
    1. how to manage power settings using answer file (WADK) for win8.1.
    2. which OS Windows image component and setting used for power management in WADK.
    Thanks
    Richa Km

    The way I do it with my task sequences (this works with MDT as well as SCCM) is to have an exported power plan using the POWERCFG -EXPORT command.  I create a software package around the resulting *.POW file with a command do do an POWERCFG -IMPORT.
     I then issue a POWERCFG -SETACTIVE command to the GUID of the *.POW file to enable that power scheme.
    More information on the POWERCFG command can be found here:

  • Any way to use an App Tab with exe File (such as Thunderbird.exe)?

    I'm trying to set up an App Tab in Firefox 4 Beta (9) to call up Thunderbird. But when I put the location of the exe file in the address window, Firefox sends me to the download manager, and won't open the file otherwise. I'm assuming you can't open an exe file in Firefox, but is there another way to get a tab that will open Thunderbird so I don 't have to do it separately? Thanks

    Try the Get Mail extension: <br />

    I just purchased Photoshop Touch for my Galaxy Tab 2. Everything I read says I should be able to transfer .psd files from the cloud service to photoshop touch but I can't get it to work  Anyons else have this issue?

    You can only open .psd files through the "add local image" and it flattens the image(no layers). It's the biggest flaw of Touch.

  • Problems with opening file with while loop

    Greetings everyone,
      This is probably a quick question, but I am familiarizing myself how to open data files in Labview. The attached code works if you enter a file from the folder button on the front panel. However, if the path is blank and you hit the run (arrow) button, a dialog box comes up and asks for the file.
       I select the file, but the dialog box keeps coming up. I think this has something to do with my while loop. Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong?
      Thanks!

    TheLT,
    1. crossrulz was right. The Read FromSpreadsheet File.vi opens and closes the file each time it is called. If no file path is present at the input when it is called, it will pop up a file dialog.
    2. LabVIEW uses a dataflow paradigm. In your program the effect of this is that the File path control is read almost immediately when the program is started and never again after that. So, if the program is already running when the file is selected in that control, the new value is never read and the value (empty) in the control when the rpogram started is used.
    3. The fix is to use an event structure with a file path Value Changed event to detect when the control has a value entered and then read the file.
    4. Sequence structures obscure code, make it difficult to modify and extend code, and can almost always be eliminated by effective use of dataflow.  Local variables should not be used just to pass data around.  Wire is always the best way when possible. In your program adding a few wires allows elimination of the sequence structure and the local variables.
    5.  Your graph loop should have some kind of delay or wait.  No need for it to run as fast as the processor will allow - and to hog all the CPU time - to repeatedly put the same data onto the graph.  This is another place where an event structure is appropriate. Only update the graph when the X-Axis or Y-Axis selections have changed. Note: Accepted best practice is to use only one event structure in a program, although there are a few advanced cases where multiple event structures are appropriate.  You only need one.
    6. If the slected file does not contain the "endheader" string, the program will never stop.  Add a test for EOF to stop the program if the End of File is reached without finding the flag.

  • How do I use an Edge Animate project with SVG files in InDesign for DPS output?

    Is there any way to include an Edge Animate web content using .svg files in InDesign for output to DPS?
    Edge Animate works great with InDesign, except for when you're using SVG files. I've worked with SVG files on the web successfully (writing .htaccess files and such), but it seems like InDesign doesn't like them.
    This is pretty important because I don't want to have to design multiple renditions on the DPS suite. Currently I have it setup as a PDF format (DPS) and that scales all of the vector-based type perfectly. It would be wonderful if the animations could also be in a vector format so that when the iPad (3) users see the designs, they will scale naturally through the PDF framework.
    Any advice would be invaluable.
    Thanks!

  • HT1338 Purchased a used macbook pro with Mountain Lion. My old Mac runs Snow Leopard is backed up to Time machine. How do I register the operating system to me and how do I use Time Machine to move my files to the new used computer?

    Purchased a used macbook pro with Mountain Lion. My old Mac runs Snow Leopard is backed up to Time machine. How do I register the operating system to me and how do I use Time Machine to move my files to the new used computer?

    If you look at the User Tips tab, you will find a write up on just this subject:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4053
    The subject of buying/selling a Mac is quite complicated.  Here is a guide to the steps involved. It is from the Seller's point of view, but easily read the other way too:
    SELLING A MAC A
    Internet Recovery, and Transferability of OS & iLife Apps
    Selling an Old Mac:
    • When selling an old Mac, the only OS that is legally transferable is the one that came preinstalled when the Mac was new. Selling a Mac with an upgraded OS isn't doing the new owner any favors. Attempting to do so will only result in headaches since the upgraded OS can't be registered by the new owner. If a clean install becomes necessary, they won't be able to do so and will be forced to install the original OS via Internet Recovery. Best to simply erase the drive and revert back to the original OS prior to selling any Mac.
    • Additionally, upgrading the OS on a Mac you intend to sell means that you are leaving personally identifiable information on the Mac since the only way to upgrade the OS involves using your own AppleID to download the upgrade from the App Store. So there will be traces of your info and user account left behind. Again, best to erase the drive and revert to the original OS via Internet Recovery.
    Internet Recovery:
    • In the event that the OS has been upgraded to a newer version (i.e. Lion to Mountain Lion), Internet Recovery will offer the version of the OS that originally came with the Mac. So while booting to the Recovery Disk will show Mountain Lion as available for reinstall since that is the current version running, Internet Recovery, on the other hand, will only show Lion available since that was the OS shipped with that particular Mac.
    • Though the Mac came with a particular version of Mac OS X, it appears that, when Internet Recovery is invoked, the most recent update of that version may be applied. (i.e. if the Mac originally came with 10.7.3, Internet Recovery may install a more recent update like 10.7.5)
    iLife Apps:
    • When the App Store is launched for the first time it will report that the iLife apps are available for the user to Accept under the Purchases section. The user will be required to enter their AppleID during the Acceptance process. From that point on the iLife apps will be tied to the AppleID used to Accept them. The user will be allowed to download the apps to other Macs they own if they wish using the same AppleID used to Accept them.
    • Once Accepted on the new Mac, the iLife apps can not be transferred to any future owner when the Mac is sold. Attempting to use an AppleID after the apps have already been accepted using a different AppleID will result in the App Store reporting "These apps were already assigned to another Apple ID".
    • It appears, however, that the iLife Apps do not automatically go to the first owner of the Mac. It's quite possible that the original owner, either by choice or neglect, never Accepted the iLife apps in the App Store. As a result, a future owner of the Mac may be able to successfully Accept the apps and retain them for themselves using their own AppleID. Bottom Line: Whoever Accepts the iLife apps first gets to keep them.
    SELLING A MAC B
    Follow these instructions step by step to prepare a Mac for sale:
    Step One - Back up your data:
    A. If you have any Virtual PCs shut them down. They cannot be in their "fast saved" state. They must be shut down from inside Windows.
    B. Clone to an external drive using using Carbon Copy Cloner.
    1. Open Carbon Copy Cloner.
    2. Select the Source volume from the Select a source drop down menu on the left side.
    3. Select the Destination volume from the Select a destination drop down menu on the right
    side.
    4. Click on the Clone button. If you are prompted about creating a clone of the Recovery HD be
    sure to opt for that.
    Destination means a freshly erased external backup drive. Source means the internal
    startup drive.
    Step Two - Prepare the machine for the new buyer:
    1. De-authorize the computer in iTunes! De-authorize both iTunes and Audible accounts.
    2, Remove any Open Firmware passwords or Firmware passwords.
    3. Turn the brightness full up and volume nearly so.
    4. Turn off File Vault, if enabled.
    5. Disable iCloud, if enabled: See.What to do with iCloud before selling your computer
    Step Three - Install a fresh OS:
    A. Snow Leopard and earlier versions of OS X
    1. Insert the original OS X install CD/DVD that came with your computer.
    2. Restart the computer while holding down the C key to boot from the CD/DVD.
    3. Select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu; repartition and reformat the internal hard drive.
    Optionally, click on the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass.
    4. Install OS X.
    5. Upon completion DO NOT restart the computer.
    6. Shutdown the computer.
    B. Lion and Mountain Lion (if pre-installed on the computer at purchase*)
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because
    it is three times faster than wireless.
    1. Restart the computer while holding down the COMMAND and R keys until the Mac OS X
    Utilities window appears.
    2. Select Disk Utility from the Mac OS X Utilities window and click on the Continue button.
    3. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the left side list. Click
    on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    4. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on the Security button
    and set the Zero Data option to one-pass.
    5. Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
    6. Quit DU and return to the Mac OS X Utilities window.
    7. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
    8. Upon completion shutdown the computer.
    *If your computer came with Lion or Mountain Lion pre-installed then you are entitled to transfer your license once. If you purchased Lion or Mountain Lion from the App Store then you cannot transfer your license to another party. In the case of the latter you should install the original version of OS X that came with your computer. You need to repartition the hard drive as well as reformat it; this will assure that the Recovery HD partition is removed. See Step Three above. You may verify these requirements by reviewing your OS X Software License.

  • Working with RAW files in PSE9:  Doable or better to use PSE12?

    I have PSE 9 and will soon get a camera with RAW capability.  I notice that Adobe no longer supports PSE 9.  Am I in for trouble if I don't upgrade to PSE 12 since I don't know how to work with RAW files?  It sounds as if I will need something to convert RAW files?  Where do I get it?  Is it a big deal for a beginner with no software skills?

    You can download a free DNG Converter from Adobe and then convert your RAWs to DNGs which can be used in PSE9.
    You don't need PSE12, but if you want to purchase PSE 12, you get the most current features in the Raw processor (which in my opinion is a huge improvement over what is available in PSE9), and you don't need the extra step of converting to DNG.

  • JS error while using input fields with type=file on XP SP2

    Hi all,
    we found a new problem in applications which use input fields with type=file running in a browser on Microsoft Windows XP with SP2.
    A typical test layout might look like:
    <html>
      <head>
        <title>File-Upload</title>
      </head>
      <body>
        <form action="/cgi-bin/upload.pl" method=post
              enctype="multipart/form-data">
          <input type=file size=50 maxlength=100000 name="file"
                 accept="text/*"><br>
          <button onclick="document.forms[0].submit();">Send</button>
        </form>
      </body>
    </html>
    When you add a link without the fully qualified path (for example pic01.jpg instead of c:\pictures\pic01.jpg) and click on the 'Send' button, nothing happens and you get a Javascript error 'Access denied'.
