Using LOGON built-in in a menu module

Hi, we are using the LOGON built-in in a menu to connect with the same user and password to another database when you click on it.
We are using FORM_SUCCESS then to know if the new connection was succesfull or not.
Now, if the new connection failed we need to capture then reason in order to give more detailed information of the error.
In form, if LOGON failed fires ON-ERROR trigger but in a menu there is no triggers.
Any idea?
Thanks

You could create a dummy-form which does the logon and catch your exceptions in its ON-ERROR-trigger. Then call that form from your menu.

  • Create Menu Modules dynamically with JDAPI

    Hi everyone:
    I'm trying to create and compile menu modules dynamically based on a table,and I find out that using the JDAPI this task may could be done.
    The problem is that we have a logon page and we need to load different menus depending on the user permissions and because our menus grow and change constantly, we would like acomplish this dynamically with out having to change the source code every time a change is made (we only change the table).
    Is it possible to call this programs from oracle form at run time to create the menu modules and then continue working as usual, and if it is possible where I can find documentation about this.
    Any idea will be very helpfull. Thanks

    I guess you could import the JDAPI class files into a forms module and call the java to create a menu file. Why don't you use the menu security instead? With that you can have a menu that has all the menus you'll ever use and based on the roles you assign each user the function will hide or shoe the menus and menu items that the role is allowed to see.

  • How do I use the built-in camera or webcam?

    I know this may sound very elementary but there was no documentation with my Mac when I bought it new (except a thin flimsy pamphlet with very baic stuff in it) and the help menu comes up with nothing at all when I search for web cam, webcam or isight.
    Where do I go to learn about how to use the built-in camera/web cam as a camera and also as a web cam?
    Thank you

    There should have been a seventy page booklet in the box with your new iMac.  If yours is the latest version, clicking here will download it if you cannot find the physical copy.  If yours is an older iMac model, you can search for the correct manual from the iNtel iMac Support Page > "Manuals" link.
    After that, Mac 101 is a great web-based information source.  If you don't need general help, take a look here for specifics about each application of interest.

    If your posted info is correct that you are running Mac OS X (10.7.3), you should be able to get started by using your Mac's Finder > Help menu command.  Searching for "camera" (without quotation marks) on my 10.7.3 Mac returns Mac's Help article entitled "Use your Mac’s built-in camera."  This is the web version of the same help.
    Other apps, like QuickTime Player (the Lion QT 10.x version), and iMovie (part of iLife that came with your Mac) can also use your iMac's camera.
    iMovie Help or this web page version of the same help will explain how to "Record video directly into iMovie".
    Use QTX Player's File > New Movie Recording menu command to record video with it.  You can configure size and quality of the recorded material by using QTX's preferences as shown in this image:

    Different apps do not all work the same.  For function-specific help, search Help in separate camera applications; i.e., after you launch Photo Booth, iChat, QTX, iChat, etc., use the individual app's Help menu command to search for more info on the camera or what you want to do.
    This article offers great basic tips about how to position, light, and use built-in cameras.  Although its subject shows it was written for iMacs, it is equally applicable to other reader's inbuilt Apple cameras, too.
    For more specialized functions than those offered by the camera software already included with your Mac, you can search the Mac App Store for other apps that can use your camera.
    For webcam help with iChat, use Apple's iChat Support page if you need more help that that provided in the dialog boxes and iChat > Help on your Mac.
    To use your camera with FaceTime, search your Mac's FaceTime > Help or these web versions of the same Help topics that should be available on your Mac.
    Skype or other third party webcam apps will offer their own Help menus of varying quality.  In additon to these app Help services, some apps offer comprehensive Support services via their web page.  If you decide to add Skype to your Mac, you can click here to review the excellent Skype Support pages.
    If you need to start a new topic for specific questions after you get started, give as much detail about what you want to do and what you may have already tried unsuccessfully.  We will offer specific suggestions based on the details you provide.
    Enjoy your new Mac!

  • Is there a way to use the built-in Datalogging and programmatically log the front panel while the vi is running?

    I would like to use the built-in Data Logging feature. There is the "Log at Completion" option, but is there a way to programmatically make a new log record while running? I looked around in VI server and couldn't find any methods that would do that. Currently, I am grabbing all of the front panel control references using VI Server and if there are any changes, the changed values are written to a log file along with a date/time stamp. I'm mostly dealing with buttons, which simply change from 0 to 1 or 1 to 0, so it's not too hard to visualize what was pressed. It works okay for reconstructing what happened, but it would be much nicer to use the built-in fe
    ature because you can "replay" directly onto the front panel and actually see what the changes were. However, without being able to programmatically make a new log, it won't work for me.

    Jake,
    There are several options here.
    I would suggest using your own code for datalogging. The datalogging you are referring to is primarily for debug, and one shot datalogs of front panel indicators (and controls?), not including graphs, etc.
    If you go to the file functions, you will see a menu for datalogging. These functions will allow you to save your data, as you need it, simply, and in a compact format.
    I recommend opening the datalog file, doing all your file operations, and closing the file before the program is complete. There are several examples of this in the examples database.
    Good luck

  • How can I use the built-in Isight camera with an external camera (usb/firewire) at the same time?

    How can I use the built-in Isight camera and an external video camera at the same time?
    I'm wanting to stream over Oovoo/Skype/etc. using 2 cameras.
    Thanks

    Simple question with a not so simple answer.
    (a) If you mean that you want to run multiple apps simultaneously using a different camera with each app, you may encounter computing power limitations.  Digital video is processor intensive.  The only way to know if your Mac can do this it to try it.  If the video does not work together but each app works when it it the only app running, you are likely overloading your Mac's ability to process and/or move all the required data in your data bus.  You can get a better indication of whether this is the case by watching your Activity Monitor utility while running the apps you want to use.
    (b) If you mean that you want to have more than one compatible camera connected to your Mac simultaneously for ease of changing between video sources, some, but not necessarily all, apps you are using to operate your camera(s) allow you to select between your cameras.
    How you select among connected cameras depends on which application you are using. Here is how camera selection works in a few examples:
    (1) For iChat, you can choose which iSight you use in the "Camera:" choices bar in iChat > Preferences... > Audio/Video that appears when more than one compatible camera is connected. Although your camera choices will be different, the choices bar will look something similar to the Preferences settings shown here:
    If you cannot see the "Camera" choices bar, your Mac is recognizing only one (or none) of your cameras. In that case, consider the suggestions fromhttp://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090 for iSight problems or refer to your other camera's documentation for help.
    This particular choices bar solution applies ONLY to iChat. Most other applications also have settings that allow you to choose which camera to use. However, they do not all work the same way.
    (2) For instance, iMovie HD's camera choice is NOT set via Preferences. When you have more than one compatible camera connected, iMovie6 HD uses a drop-down menu choice something like this (depending on which version of iMovie you use):
    Note: Because I had no built-in iSight connected when I made this example, and because my external iSight was not connected, the drop-down menu showed only "Time Lapse." Because your Mac has a built-in iSight, your built-in iSight would show in the drop-down menu even when no other camera is connected. Connecting an additional Mac compatible webcam should allow you to choose either camera.
    Other iMovie versions work slightly differently.
    iMovie 9 (from iLife '11) uses a different camera choice button shown in this article:
      http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iMovie/9.0/en/mov39f84285.html
    iMovie 8 (from iLife '09) is slightly different as explained in this article:
      http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iMovie/8.0/en/10172.html
    In general, you can use your Mac's help for the application in use to find out how to select among more than one connected camera.
    (3) Photo Booth in Snow Leopard 10.6.x and later uses the Photo Booth > Camera menu command to select which camera to use.
    Note for readers with older Mac OS X: The previous version of Photo Booth that came with Tiger (10.4.x) is such a simple, basic app that it offers no menu selectable choice. Unless your built-in iSight is already occupied as the camera being used by some open application before you launch Photo Booth, Photo Booth will use ONLY your built-in iSight.
    However, you can use the trick from ¶ 4 of http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302781 to let Photo Booth use an external camera.
    (If you have an external Firewire camera connected, it may be used in preference to any USB webcam. If that is a problem for you, merely disconnect the problem Firewire device.)
    (4) For FaceTime, launch the app and click the Video menu item.
    If your Mac recognizes more than one connected compatible camera, a "Camera" section listing the cameras from which you can choose will appear there. Clicking on the desired camera name will let you select the one you want as shown in this image from my Mac Pro and LED Cinema Display:
    If your Mac recognizes only one compatible camera, the "Camera" section will not appear in the Video menu, but FaceTime will automatically use the connected camera that is recognized by OS X.
    (5) I do not use Skype oir Oovoo.  For those or other apps, see Help for each app for info on how to select your desired camera.

  • Selected state issue with Menu Module V2

    OK so I am getting an issue with Menu Module V2. I have used this before with success but this time I have hit a wall. I possed this question to BC live chat and they bugged out real quick.
    The site in construction is http://www.urbanista.com.au
    What is happening is that in the top right tools nav with the headings Home, Services, People, Contact Us using Menu Module V2. The Heading Services has a drop down and this is where the issue resides. Roll over any of these nav devices and you will see they will highlight orange. Home is already auto activating its Selcted state. Click on Contact Us and it will do the same.  Roll over and click on Services and it appears to have worked. While in Services roll over the drop down again and you will see all links have activated the Selected state. This is the issue. If you view the code of the Services UL you will see only the Services state has been alocated the Slected state. See below:
    <li id="Services" class="selected">
    <a href="/services.htm">Services</a>
    <ul>
    <li id="tools-panningdev">
    <li id="tools-housing">
    <li id="tools-urban-renewal">
    <li id="tools-project-management">
    <li id="tools-feasibility-tools">
    <li id="tools-governance-systems">
    <li id="tools-communications">
    <li id="tools-projects">
    </ul>
    </li>
    The CSS that runs the nav is as follows:
    ul.dropdown {
        font-weight: normal;
        font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
        font-style: normal;
        text-decoration: none;
        ul.dropdown li {
        background-color: transparent;
        color: #999;
        padding-top: 5px;
        padding-right: 10px;
        padding-bottom: 5px;
        padding-left: 10px;
        font-size: 12px;
        ul.dropdown li.hover,
        ul.dropdown li:hover {
        background-color: transparent;
        color: #FFF;
        ul.dropdown a:link,
        ul.dropdown a:visited    {
        color: #FFF;
        text-decoration: none;
        ul.dropdown a:hover        { color: #ff871f; }
        ul.dropdown a:active    {
        color: #b33b00;
        /* -- level mark -- */
        ul.dropdown ul {
        width: 150px;
        margin-top: 1px;
        background-image: url(/images/nav-transparency.png);
        background-repeat: repeat;
        color: #FFF;
        ul.dropdown ul li {
        font-weight: normal;
    ul.dropdown li.selected a {
        color: #ff871f;
    The last entry 'ul.dropdown li.selected a {color: #ff871f;}' is required in order to allocate a Slected State. Without it not Selected state is active and the links al remian white.
    I have tried all manner of combinations and additonal tags with no success. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I have not modified the default Javascript provided by BC in the system apart from allocating the required ulTagClass as specified. The Javascript in the supplied 'container.html' is as follows:
    <script type="text/javascript" >
        // ids need to be unique per page, use different ones if you are including multiple menus in the same page
        // id of the nav tag, used above
        var divTagId = "myMenu1";
        // desired id for 1st <ul> tag
        var ulTagId = "myMenu1List";
        // desired class for 1st <ul> tag
        var ulTagClass = "dropdown dropdown-vertical";
        if ((null !== ulTagId) && ("" !== ulTagId)) {
            document.getElementById(divTagId).getElementsByTagName("ul")[0].setAttribute("id",ulTagId );
        if ((null !== ulTagClass) && ("" !== ulTagClass)) {
            document.getElementById(divTagId).getElementsByTagName("ul")[0].className = ulTagClass;
        // this will set the selected state
        if ((null !== ulTagId) && ("" !== ulTagId)) {
            catSetSelectedCSSItem(ulTagId);
    </script>
    Lastly this is one of the recomended navs by BC at the following address: http://lwis.net/free-css-drop-down-menu/
    I have used these before with success but for the life of me this has stumped me big time.

    Hi Matthew,
    Having a super quick look at the code I'd say it's because of:
    ul.dropdown li.selected a {
        color: #ff871f;
    This affects all the child elements.
    To override this down the line you could do something like:
    ul.dropdown li.selected ul li a {
        color: #fff;
    This would override the parent link color when selected.
    You could probably then also add:
    ul.dropdown li.selected ul li.selected a {
        color: #ff871f;
    For the dropdown selected states.
    That's a quick look though so don't quote me too much

  • How to create a table less structure with dynamic menu module

    Hi guys,
    I am using dynamic menu module for creating a main menu for http://firstsite08.businesscatalyst.com/
    but it is generating table structure. What changes to do i had to make to generate a table less structure from dynamic menu module.

    Hi Andy,
    When you create a Menu, the option dropdown for the menu has Default, but under that you will see HTML CSS Only option which creates a ul li structure.
    For the Menu Module options you can find more information from the knowledgebase: http://kb.worldsecuresystems.com/134/bc_1345.html?bc-partner#main_Menu_Modules
    If you would like to use the version 2 menu module you can find a bit of a guide I wrote here: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1903

  • Smooth transitions between menus without using DVDSPs built-in transitions?

    My project has two menus: a main menu and a chapter menu. When going from one menu to the other I would like to have the current menu fade out and the new menu fade in. When going from the end of the track or when using the remote menu button after getting to the track from the main menu I would like to have the main menu fade in (and the background for the chapter menu not appear). When using the remote menu button after getting to the track from the chapter menu I would like to have the chapter menu fade in (and the background for the main menu not appear).
    I am able to accomplish what I described above by using DVDSPs built-in transitions. However, I have been advised by Trai Forrester that DVDSPs built-in transitions can cause problems: http://www.dvdverification.com/public/155.cfm I have therefore modified my project to not use DVDSPs built-in transitions, but in order to have my project behave as I have described above I found it necessary to use two versions of the main menu and two versions of the chapter menu. One version of the main menu has a video file that fades in the background of the main menu, while the second version of the main menu has a video file that fades out the background of the chapter menu and then fades in the background of the main menu. (Similarly one version of the chapter menu has a video file that fades in the background of the chapter menu, while the second version of the chapter menu has a video file that fades out the background of the main menu and then fades in the background of the chapter menu.)
    My project behaves as desired using the two pairs of menu and does not use DVDSPs built-in transitions, so that pleases me. However, the almost-identical copies of the menus annoys me greatly. For an explanation of the programming principles that lead to my annoyance, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_duplication and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don%27trepeatyourself for elaboration.
    Is there a way to have just two menus instead of two pairs of menus and achieve what I described above without using DVDSPs built-in transitions?
    Looking forward to being surprised by a clever solution,
    John Link

    Since you have no audio or motion then try the jump to loop point script. Either way would be fine.
    I played around with that a little bit and it seems that to get all the fade-outs I'd like to have would require several scripts and keeping track of SPRM 7. I think that I am going to abandon all of the fade-outs but keep the fade-ins. I can do that with a single main menu and a single chapter menu and not use the built-in transitions or any scripts at all. The behavior looks good and I think the disc will be very safe.
    I agree, duplicating code is not good practice but remember your not writing code here - DVDSP is doing all this work under the hood for you.
    I may not be writing code but I am programming the DVD and the principle of non-duplication is violated by almost-identical menus.
    If you'd like check out a tool like My DVDEdit or AfterEdit
    http://www.mydvdedit.com/
    http://dvdafteredit.com/
    It allows you to see the "real" DVD Structure which tools like DVDSP or Encore hide to make things simple. You can even go through the abstraction layer line by line to see how that SPRM 7 is used (wish I knew why that Sony Player doesn't work for your project).
    Be sure to take a look at my report on the RDR-GX355: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1896575&tstart=0 That player also operates incorrectly on Concert for George: http://www.amazon.com/Concert-George-Andy-Fairweather-Low/dp/B0000CEB4V/ref=pdbbs_sr1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1233954620&sr=8-1
    Its not rocket science (especially for a programming like yourself) but remember authoring a disc in DVDSP vs a spec tool like Scenarist isn't even in the same ballpark - not even the same sport Last time I heard Scenarist is down to $6000 - it was $20K a couple years ago.
    That's a deal breaker! I'll be working with DVDSP in the foreseeable future.
    Also go here:
    http://www.dvd-replica.com/DVD/index.php
    it explains the spec in detail
    Thanks. I'll take a look.

  • I need help using SSO (built in)

    Hi folks,
    I'ld like to use the built in SSO of Sun App Server 7 for my intranet, which consists of two applications App-A and App-B. App-A is the main application (intranet), from where App-B (CMS) can be invoked.
    Both applications are secured bei FORM based authentication.
    SSO seemed to work fine for this applications first, BUT than I had to learn, that it App-A looses it's session middle in the work, sometimes. Investigating into this behavior I found out, that this happens only and always, when App-B (CMS) has been used before.
    In this case App-B is running into a timeout, after a while (30 min.). This is o.k. so far and what I expected. BUT, I did not expect, that the timeout of App-B also destroyes session of App-A, regardless that I continue to use App-A.
    In my real szenario this means, that users of my intranet (App-A) always loose their session half an our after using CMS (App-B), even if the continue to use intranet!
    The worst case is, if they use CMS, close it than and open a second CMS session, after a while.
    If they do this, before the first CMS-session times out, the second CMS session is killed shortly after starting it and middle in the work (together with the intranet, of course). Of course entered data is lost, than.
    This is not what I expect from a usefull SSO feature und makes it almost useless for me.
    I cannot believe, that this is o.k. and that nobody else got problems with this behavior.
    Does anybody know this behavior? If yes, how do you deal with this?
    Best regards,
    Harald

    Bluetooth and WiFi are two different, unrelated radio technologies. Bluetooth is used to connect to wireless keyboards, mouses, cell phones etc. You want to look at your 802.11 g (or b or n) wireless to find other computers or routers. The icon symbol for that looks different.
    Go to System Prefs/Network/ and click on Airport. then check the little box to "Show Airport status in menu bar".

  • Can I use my built in airport network to sync to my apple tv?

    I have an ibook. And Create a network with airport in the menu bar. But the apple tv doesn't show this network. I do not have a base station and i do not have the internet. But I have no touble finding the my ibook network with my imac.
    The question is:
    Can I use my built in airport in my mac to connect wireless to my apple tv?
    ibook intel   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Well, I'm just using my Mac Mini's ariport to create a network between it and my AppleTV. No Airport Extreme base station or anything.
    The reason his setup may not work is because he said he also has no internet... and the AppleTV needs an internet connection to function.
    My biggest problem was: When I first tried my network, I wasn't able to get it to work unless I turned off my firewall entirely. (I had 'unblocked' all the required ports, but apparently the firewall would really only 'unblock' either the Internet OR the Ethernet, but not both for some reason (according to Mac Tech Support)... and since Internet sharing was required to get my AppleTV to the interet - no love.)
    But now, for some reason, (maybe one of those recent OSX updates...) my network seems to work fine with my Firewall running (proper ports 'checked'), so I'm not complaining, and haven't had to invest in an Airport Extreme yet - which is nice, since my Airport signal is full strength coming from the Mini.

  • Php4apache.dll uses plain apache 1.3 API,this module might crash under EAPI

    Hi,
    I am a total PHP beginner.
    I am trying to install and configure Oracle, PHP, and Apache on Windows XP. For this purpose I am trying to follow the installation guide that I found on http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/opensource/php/apache/inst_php_apache_windows.html.
    I have first installed the Oracle 9i DB server on my E drive, which has by default created the following directory which contains the APACHE exe file
    E:\oracle\product\10.1.0\db_1\Apache\Apache\
    (it is Apache 1.3.22)
    I have downloaded php 4.3.8 from php.net and have been through the following steps given by the guide.
    I have copied the php.ini and edited it (uncomment the extension=php_oci8.dll line and specified the doc_root as E:\oracle\product\10.1.0\db_1\Apache\Apache\htdocs).
    I have copied php4ts.dll and php_oci8.dll to E:\oracle\product\10.1.0\db_1\Apache\Apache\
    i have edited the httpd.conf file by adding the 3 following lines:
    LoadModule php4_module e:/php-4.3.8/sapi/php4apache.dll
    AddModule mod_php4.c
    <IfModule mod_php4.c>AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
    </IfModule>
    When i start the Apache server i get:
    e:/php-4.3.8/sapi/php4apache.dll/php4apache.dll uses plain apache 1.3 API, this module might crash under EAPI!
    Apache seems to be working fine and to run php. The "hello world" test runs fine as well.
    Is this EAPI error a problem? (some forums seem to be implying that it is not a major error but a warning)
    If yes, I can I solve it?
    Your help would be very much appreciated.
    If needed, my email is [email protected] please feel free to use it.
    Frankie

    If you downloaded the binary version of PHP, then pretty much you can't do anything about it. It's just a warning. However, if you compiled and built it (using vc++ or something else), you'll have to add the EAPI flag to the compile flags (/DEAPI to CFLAGS in the vc++ project file/makefile) to remove this warning.

    Hi, plz suggest how disable or invisible the submenu items. there is no reply for my last post.
    using set_menu_item_property I am not able to achive this.
    here submenu items means e.g TRANSACTIONS-----------> ACCOUNTS ----------> PURCHASE, SALES
    In TRANSACTIONS a menu in the menu bar, and ACCOUNTS is the menu again and PURCHASE ,SALES are items.

  • Creating Menu module by creating the menu in database

    Hi,
    In the properties of a form when i attach a menu module thru file it's fine but i have to attach the menu module.thru database.I know we have to create the menu in the database. but cannot figure out how. Can anyone guide me how this can be done.
    Sample code welcome.
    Thanks

              I use xml to generate all input fields. But it's similar to database. xml is a kind of database.
              You can use customer tag to generate the form. Inside the tag class you select the form elements from table and construct the form. It's not difficult.
              If you use javascript take care the difference between the IE and Netscape. You better pass a browserType attribute and deal with them differently.
              You should create form element type carefully. Each element can have question type, name , text, validation class, preceding message and so on. Each element can have a toHtml method.
              for the jsp you can:
              tag to get connection.
              tag for the form
              tag for each form element.
              Hope this can give you some idea.

    The ME edition can have an English user interface (or Arabic, Hebrew, French, and maybe others, I dunno).
    In your shoes I'd buy World Tools from www.in-tools.com. I actually like Harbs' interface for RTL tools better than Adobe's.
    It's possible to fake up Arabic tools in English ID in a variety of ways. Ellis suggests a good one. If you are handy with Javascript, all of the RTL text manipulation tools are available via scripting. If you find the ancient Thomas Phinney blog post from 2008 or thereabouts, when the World-Ready Composer was first introduced, all of those scripts still work.
