Using messaging gatewway in oracle

HI
as we know Messaging Gateway defines canonical types to support message conversion between Advanced Queuing and non-Oracle messaging systems
what are the different canonical types in oracle 9i rel2 as we have MGW_BASIC_MSG_T which supports conversion between Advanced Queuing and MQSeries.

or if you are in sql*plus.
SQL> column columnValue new_value variableName
SQL> select sysdate columnValue from dual;
SQL> update dual set dummy=1 where sysdate +1 = '&variableName';
This is an example, and is not meant to work - For a "normal" user ;-)

    It would be in the log file for the managed server which ran the request. If you are logging the message at a lower level than your app server, however, you won't see it. You should be logging the exception at Error level.

    Can we use Dynamic SQL in Oracle Reports ?
    If yes please give some examples .

    I believe the built-in package SRW.Do_Sql is what you are looking for
    Example from the document:

    ** first character of a columns value, and page number on which its

    DECLARE
    PAGE_NO NUMBER;
    PAGE_FOR INDEX NUMBER;
    SORT_CHAR CHAR(1);
    CMD_LINE CHAR(200);
    BEGIN

  • Oracle XML Gateway Message Designer for Oracle EBS R12.1.2

    Goog Day to everyone!
    I'm Looking for the tool "XML Gateway Message Designer". I have found in Metalink(Oracle Support) the note ID 557101.1, here explain how to get the message designer for Oracle Apps R12. It says that you have to download the patch 4066964. This patch install the Oracle Workflow Builder (2.6.3.0.1) and the Oracle XML Gateway Message Designer (2.6.3). This tools are supported to be used with Oracle Apps 11.5.10 and 12.0.X.
    The release of Oracle Apps that I'm using is 12.1.2.
    Questions:
    - The version of the Message Designer that you get from patch 4066964 works for OraApps R12.1.2 ?
    - The version of the Workflow Builder that you get from patch 4066964 works for OraApps R12.1.2 ?
    - If the version of Message Designer doesn't work with OraApps R12.1.2, where can I find one that works with it?
    Thanks for your advice.
    LCJ

    Hi Hussein,
    Thanks for replay.
    I downloaded the rapid install package from e-delivery. The B53824-01_4of4 was the OWB installer, and it has a readme file that says: "+This patch contains Oracle Workflow Builder (version 2.6.3.0.1) and Oracle XML Gateway Message Designer (version 2.6.3). These client tools are supported for use with an Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1 instance.+"
    I believe, as well as you, that it should be work for 12.1.2.
    I'm gonna make some test, and in a few days I will post my results.
    Thanks for the help.

  • Quering MySql DB tables using DB adapter in Oracle SOA

    Hi',
    I am trying to query MySql DB tables using DB adapter in Oracle SOA.
    inside the weblogic server console I have created a data source and test is "success" MySql

    Thanks Naresh,
    actually I tried changing the "platformClassName" to "oracle.toplink.platform.database.MySQL4Platform" in the existing connection factory.

    Also how to configure Oracle with JMS, could anyone tell me any useful links where i can find more information or any suggestions on this would be fine

  • Problem using Message-Selector

    Hi,
    out client-application subscribe to a JMS-topic on OC4J (9.0.3) using the following code
    TopicConnectionFactory oConnectionFactory = (TopicConnectionFactory) ctx.lookup("jms/MyTopicConnectionFactory");
    oConnection = oConnectionFactory.createTopicConnection();
    oTopicSession = oConnection.createTopicSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
    Topic topic = (Topic)ctx.lookup("jms/MyTopic");
    TopicSubscriber sub = oTopicSession.createSubscriber(topic);
    Everything works fine.
    But when we replace the last line to use Message-Selectors
    TopicSubscriber sub = oTopicSession.createSubscriber(topic,"username = 'abc'",false);
    we get the following (strange) error (which occurs at excactly that line)
    javax.jms.InvalidDestinationException: Invalid topic
    The topic can't be invalid, because we could subscribe without Message-Selector. Do I have to modify the topic at the JMS-Configuration? Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Gilbert

    Hi Gilbert,
    The way I've done it is by defining the rule when creating the subscriber in the database (thru DBMS_AQ). The following document might give you some insight.

    Hi Mack,
    Please use the below code instead of using
    Message function in your code to raise a message.
    FND_MESSAGE.set_string('Invalid value');
    FND_MESSAGE.error;
    after verifying the solution please close this post as answered. Thanks in Advance.

    It is A Good Thing (tm) that you actually copied and pasted the entire error message. Some here seem to think "it doesn't work" is an actionable error message. However, for future reference, error messages are the result of something happening. They are far more meaningful if you were to also copy and paste the command that triggered the error.
    if yes can some one please guide me how I can create database...
    Easiest way is to use the utility 'dbca' (database configuration assistant).

    Learning how to look things up in the documentation is time well spent investing in your career. To that end, you should drop everything else you are doing and do the following:
    Go to tahiti.oracle.com.
    Drill down to your product and version.
    <b><i><u>BOOKMARK THAT LOCATION</u></i></b>
    Spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what is available here. Take special note of the "books" and "search" tabs. Under the "books" tab (for 10.x) or the "Master Book List" link (for 11.x) you will find the complete documentation library.
    Spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what <b><i><u>kind</u></i></b> of documentation is available there by simply browsing the titles under the "Books" tab.
    Open the Reference Manual and spend a few minutes looking through the table of contents to get familiar with what <b><i><u>kind</u></i></b> of information is available there.
    Do the same with the SQL Reference Manual.
    Do the same with the Utilities manual.
    You don't have to read the above in depth. They are <b><i><u>reference</b></i></u> manuals. Just get familiar with <b><i><u>what</b></i></u> is there to <b><i><u>be</b></i></u> referenced. Ninety percent of the questions asked on this forum can be answered in less than 5 minutes by simply searching one of the above manuals.
    Then set yourself a plan to dig deeper.
    - Read a chapter a day from the Concepts Manual.
    - Take a look in your alert log. One of the first things listed at startup is the initialization parms with non-default values. Read up on each one of them (listed in your alert log) in the Reference Manual.
    - Take a look at your listener.ora, tnsnames.ora, and sqlnet.ora files. Go to the Network Administrators manual and read up on everything you see in those files.
    - When you have finished reading the Concepts Manual, do it again.

  • How to use Message Selector in BPEL

    Hi all
    I´m using a JMS Adapter to consume messages from a JMS queue (a JMS adapter which create the BPEL instance when a message arrives).
    The process must select messages which meet certain criterias, so I´m using Message Selector to filter the messages and only pick up the ones who interest me .
    But I am not able to get it to work.
    I want JMS adapter to consume messages based on field "MessageID" =1006 in my message.
    So in my message selector I wrote MessageID =1006
    But its not picking up message.Kindly help what am i doing wrong.
    Thanks in advance.
    Karan

    yes it is the message producer who should set the property
    see http://download.oracle.com/javaee/6/api/javax/jms/Message.html the various setXXXProperty(name, value)
    once the message is on the queue, I am not aware of a way to change its properties, unless by consuming it and reposting it modified...
    well if you are really desperate you can write a MDB who consumes all messages without a given property and repost them WITH the property.... better if reposting to a different queue to avoid trouble...

    Hi,
    I have a doubt in oracle alerts.
    can i use html coding in oracle alerts.
    If so can anyone please help me out this.
    Thankig you,
    Regards,
    RR

    hi vingorius ,
    No you cant include html but u can use variables
    To add a variable in a text message to provide context for the iBot attachment
    1. Click the following option:
    If sent as attachment, include this text
    2. Type the text into the text box with a session variable, a repository variable, or a presentation variable using the syntax shown in the following table:
    Variable Type
    Syntax
    Repository @{Variable_Name}
    Session @{NQ_SESSION.Variable_Name}
    Presentation @{Variable_Name}
    For example, Dear, @{NQ_SESSION.Variable_Name}, here is your personalized Weekly Sales Territory Update.
    NOTE: If you want to use the @ character, you need to precede it with the \ (back slash) character to separate it from the variable syntax. For example, Dear @{NQ_SESSION.DISPLAYNAME}, \@ New York, appears as Dear Joe Smith, @ New York.
