Using NULL in Condition Object

Is there are way to use the value NULL in the Condition object. For example, the following does not work because I really need "U_PLS_SysU IS NULL" for my query to work:
conditions = new SAPbouiCOM.Conditions();
condition = conditions.Add();
condition.Alias = "U_PLS_SysU";
condition.Operation = SAPbouiCOM.BoConditionOperation.co_EQUAL;
condition.CondVal = "NULL";
This statement gets interpreted literally of course and does not return the correct rows. Is there a workaround?

It´s just a guess, but... have you tried something like an SQL injection?
Some trick like:
conditions = new SAPbouiCOM.Conditions();
condition = conditions.Add();
condition.Alias = "U_PLS_SysU";
condition.Operation = SAPbouiCOM.BoConditionOperation.co_EQUAL;
condition.CondVal = " '' OR U_PLS_SysU IS NULL";
//There are 2 single quotes begore OR word
If it was well designed it shouldn´t work, but you never know...

Not sure about that,never realy tested it. But why don't you use th new grid object in 2005. There you can just write a query that will automatically populate the Grid (new matrix). You can then add collapsable rows if you want.
If you are not using 2005, you can always use a recorset to get the data and fill the matrix cell by cell. But this is much slower. Maybe if you place a piece of your code maybe we can get a better idea of the problem.

Using null for parameterized "newInstance(Object [])" method in Object[].

I have a really serious problem. I am creating instances of specific classes by using reflection techniques. I am reading a flat file, finding class from its name and creating it by using its parameterized constructor. Example:
line 1: Dummy("A",Dummy2("B"),12,,"C");
I create an instance of Dummy with parameters "A", an instance of Dummy2 object with value "B", 12 (I use here Integer as wrapper), null (There is no wrapper for null :( ) and "C".
I find constructor by using findConstructors() and looking their parameter counts, creating an object array with given values and calling:
constructorIFoundBefore.newInstance(objectArrayIPrepared);
But!!!
Because I use null directly, I got this message:

I said something wrong. Sorry. While invoking a method (or a constructor) we need an object array which are equivalent to parameters. For example to call a method or constructor for class A;

To achieve this by using reflection techniques, we must find constructor with two parameters of class A. At this point "BetterMethodFinder" will give great help.
After finding right constructor, we must create an object array to tell the constructor parameters (age and name). At this point we need an object array which stores our parameters. Code must be like this.
Object []params = new Object[2]; // we have two parameters.
params[0] = new Integer(12); // we can't use params[0]=12
// because 12 is not an object. (It is a
// primitive type)
params[1] = "Gokcer";
Now create the new object.
A a1;
a1 = constructorWeFound.newInstance(params);
While creating param[], we could also use:
Object []params = new Object[2] {new Integer(12),"Gokcer"};
While creating a2, we can use "null" directly for second parameter.
params = new Object[2] = {new Integer(15), null};
or

Error : Access not possible using "null" objects reference

i am working with a zbapi.
i called a external email program in this bapi,everything is working fine over here.
In webdynpro java they mapped my bapi and starting working from there.
every functionality is working fine but regarding this email stuff it is showing an error as access not possible using null objects reference.
where could be the possible error.
is it in webdynpro or in abap side.

You are right. When it comes from the WD Java, may be you are not passing any value at all. You can trace it by these ways.
1. Check it using SE37, make sure everyhting is fine.
2. Print all the values that you are passing to the RFC in the execute RFC method().
3. using ST05 transaction in R/3, enable RFC and SQL trace, check what is passing in between web dynpro and R/3.
Moreover paste your error message here.

RFC to HTTP Interface - Access using NULL object reference is not possible

Hi All,
I am working on a Interface RFC to HTTP where in I am sending the data to a third party system.
Using PI 7.3 and Adapter type XI to send this data.
I am getitng an error Short dump occured when executing message in qRFC queue <Queuename>: Date/time 02.12.2011 08:44:57, user XXXXX, runtime error: Access using NULL object reference is not possible.
<SAP:Code area="INTERNAL">QRFC_SYSTEM_DUMP</SAP:Code>
I am entering the parameters such as target host,service number,path correctly with addrseing type as URL.
The message is failing in the call adapter step with the above error.
There are no messages stuck in SMQ2 as well.
Now on the other if I use the adapter type HTTP_AAE the messages is getting successfully delivered with the same parameters mentioned above.But as we know it is a plain adapter and will not have the SOAP envelope.
We would want to send the data using the XI adapter.
Any idea as why this issue is happening?

It's more of a safety trap within java to handle the "programmers are still humans" exception.

Using null to replace values

I'm a newbie! Can you tell me how can replace existing values in a variable. My plot in the program is to have the price of products in my right hand then transfer that to the cart and then to cashier lady. I have to make sure and know that when I transfer the price from my right hand to the value cart the right hand should no value, then when from cart to the cashier the cart should have no value. The code below is not yet finish. I'm just testing it on one product. I just to know the transferring concept. Can I use null?

Variables of object (class) types may be set to null, meaning they point to no object.
Variables of fundamental types (int, byte, char, long, double, float, boolean, etc.) can not be set to null. Maybe you can set your numeric types to 0 and boolean to false, to indicate nothingness.

Using multiple 'and' conditions in a SQL query

Is it possible to reduce the SQL required to query using multiple 'and' conditions, e.g. I have a query like the following:

Ah, Ok this looks nice, thanks very much. It doesn't quite run as is because the stat.amount_paid query value is 'is null', while the others are 'C'. I tried amending the relevant line to various versions of the following:-
in (select 'is null' 'C','C','C','C','C','C','C','C' from dual)
which doesn't work.
I can get the following to work so I am assuming that the it is not possible to use different query values within the brackets of the 'in (select....' statement?

Paging issues using a dynamic view object...

I am working on an application that uses JAG to generate JSP pages, i had the requirement to use dynamic view objects where the view object query is generated at runtime. The rest of the application is more or less the same... I used the defult functionality provided by TableScrollButtons.jsp file for paging. Now the problem im facing is that while the '>' and '<' buttons are working fine, i cant seem to navigate to the pages using the drop down...
With the default handler, whenever i select the range the range displayed remains the same ie 1-10, 10 being the rangesize, but the rows are refreshed with values from the next page. Also, if the next page is the last and is incomplete, then the rows are pushed in from the bottom, so that the last page is always full...I tried the tuning panel in the view object edit dialogue and all settings are fine (i think)...could anyone please tell me what i am doing wrong??

I have already tried your solution, however in that case I get the error - "UncaughtSys.ArgumentNullException: Sys.ArgumentNullException:
Value cannot be null.Parameter name: context"...
Also, I tried removing SP.SOD.executeFunc
from my code, but no success :(

Best Practice question - null or empty object?

Given a collection of objects where each object in the collection is an aggregation, is it better to leave references in the object as null or to instantiate an empty object? Now I'll clarify this a bit more.....

The search method looks up data in a database and creates MyItem objects for each row in the database. If there are 10 rows, MyCollection would contain 10 MyItem objects (references, of course).
MyItem has three attributes:

Is it better to leave detail as a null reference or should a MyItemdetail object be created? I know this sounds like a specific app requirement, but I'm looking for a best practice - what most people do in this case. There are reasons for both approaches. Obviously, a bunch of empty objects going over RMI is a strain on resources whereas a bunch of null references is not. But on the receiving end, you have to account for the MyItemDetail reference to be null or not - is this a hassle or not?

Acquire data from a tab delimited file using a popup dialog object on a stamp

I am trying to import data from a tab delimited file using a popup dialog object on a stamp. I have purchased the book by Thom Parker--All About PDF Stamps in Acrobat and Paperless Workflows and have been working through the examples in the appendix.
My problem is understanding how to bring the data into the dialog object from the file.
I don't want to plagiarize his book--so am electing at this time not to show my code. The script is reading the file, just not bringing in the records from the file so that I can select which line to import into the stamp.
I have typed in the code exactly how the book describes, but when the popup dialog object is selected, there is nothing in the drop-down. When I click OK, the first record is put on the stamp--except for the fields that I am wanting to appear in the dialog object popup box.
I have searched the forums, and also the JavaScript reference. There are examples of the popup dialog object, but none of them show how to import the data from a file--just for the items to be typed in as the list.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! i have been trying to work on this for several months now.

1. Your trusted function is not a trusted function. Did you put this
function into a folder level script so that it will get executed at system
startup?--
yes--I saved the script as a .js file and put it in the following path (I have Acrobat XI Pro for Windows)
C:\Documents and Settings\tjohnson\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\Privileged\11.0\JavaScripts\GetTabData.js
2. The script cannot find your tab delimited data file, or it cannot
extract the data. Did you add the data file in the correct location? The
location from the script in the book would be c:\mydata\Contacts.txt
Yes--the file is in the same path as the book.
Below is my code that references the file.

the slashes in the book go in the direction of the text above--should they go in the direction that you have in your question?
Also, the name and email address need to be separated by one Tab character.

3. The fields need to be named the same way as the columns in the data file (the two names are in the first line of the file).
My headings are RevByFromTab and EmailFromTab--which match the names of the two fields on the stamp.
So, check that you are not getting any errors in the JavaScript console
(Ctrl-J or Cmd-J), and verify that the tab delimited file is in the correct
location
When I run in the java script console--and I just run the script on the stamp,
it says
TypeError: event.source is null
17:Console:Exec
undefined
When I place the stamp on the page, the popup box is working, but when you click on the down arrow, there is nothing listed. When I click OK, the RevByFromTab is populated by the first item in the file, but the EmailFromTab field says undefined.

Pojo used by many other objects

Hello all,
In my application I have got a complex entity containing lists and maps filled with data by the persistence tier and that entity is to be used by many other objects in my application, including many controllers. I am trying to find a way to access that pojo in the most practical way. For that I could use a kind of factory such as:
public final class MyPojoFactory
    private static MyPojo instance;
    public static MyPojo getInstance(){
    if(instance == null){
       instance = new MyPojo();
       return instance;
}and then access my pojo using the MyPojoSingleton.getInstance() method throughout the client part of my application. However, I am bit concerned about the thread safety of this implementation since instance is a static variable and that its state could be altered indeterministically.
What I've thought of is having a parent abstract class extended by all the classes that would need this pojo. But sometimes these classes hierarchy gets really deep and I end up with things like myClass.getParentClass().getParentClass().getMyPojo() if you see what I mean, which I would like to avoid.
Any solution or design pattern or simpler implementation I should have a look into?

Well thanks for this tip! But I've got another similar case where the service needs an id as parameter as such:

}In that case I don't think I could use my PojoFactory because the instance object has a global scope, doesn't it? How could I handle such a case?

To exchange information between the User and the System as well as between the objects (Ex: Customer to Sales document, Sales document to Delivery Document) SAP uses Text Determination to determine or to propose Text. Text can be determined for objects like customer master, all documents, condition records, customer material info records, etc...
