Using oracle procedural gateway to connect to mq series

Hi,
I am working on setting up my connection to export data from oracle database to db2 using mq-series.
MQ-Series client software and oracle procedural gateway v9 are installed on HP-UX .
initsid.ora & initsid.gtwboot file for the gateway are configured. listener.ora and tnsnames.ora are also configured and running.
I created a dblink and then tried to test my connection using the test scripts given by IBM.
I got the following error,
ORA-04052: error occurred when looking up remote object [email protected]
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-28509: unable to establish a connection to non-Oracle system
ORA-02063: preceding line from DCY3
I generated a trace and I got the following information from listener.trc
nsopen: opening transport...
nttcnp: Validnode Table IN use; err 0x0
nttcnp: getting sockname
nttcnr: waiting to accept a connection.

Listener.log gave me the following information,
12-JAN-2010 14:47:34 * (CONNECT_DATA=(SID=dcy3)) * (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=
172.25.228.7)(PORT=59501)) * establish * dcy3 * 12500

TNS-12547: TNS:lost contact
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
TNS-00517: Lost contact
HPUX Error: 32: Broken pipe
I researched online and made sure that I have enough swap,memory on my OS.I increased the value for processes in init.ora file.
My log files have not exceeded the maximum limit.
The trace shows that my listener is loosing contact when it is trying to read the driver from /u46/oracle/app/oracle/product/bin/pg4mqc90drv.
I am not sure how to proceed from this point,though I have a thought of relinking my libraries in oracle.
Can anyone give any information on this.

  • Using Oracle ODBC Gateway connecting to a remote Oracle database

    Oracle 11gR2
    RHEL 6.4
    Has anyone use the Oracle ODBC Gateway to connect to another Oracle database?  Any issues with that configuration?  Where do I get the ODBC drivers for Linux?
    (I know, "why not use a dblink?" -- well that would be against company security policies)

    Hi,
       From the Oracle point of view we support using DG4ODBC for Oracle to Oracle connections. However, we have not actually tested it as DG4ODBC is primarily designed for access to non-Oracle databases.
    How DG4ODBC will work between Oracle databases depends on the ODBC driver and what that supports. You will need an ODBC Oracle driver which you can get from various suppliers including Oracle but also vendors such as DataDirect, Easysoft etc. You could try a Google search.
    You say you do not want to use database links but that is how DG4ODBC is used, You cannot do -
    sqlplus user/password@dg4odbc_oracle
    Once Dg4ODBC is setup and configured as in this note - if you are using Linux 64-bit -
    How to Configure DG4ODBC on 64bit Unix OS (Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX Itanium) to Connect to Non-Oracle Databases Post Install (Doc ID 561033.1)
    then in the Oracle database you create a database link and select from tables in the other Oracle database -
    select * from table@dg4odbc_db_link ;

  • Any benefits of Oracle Transparent Gateway to connect to MSSQLServer ?

    What are the benefits of Oracle 10G's Oracle Transparent Gateway to connect to MSSQL Server ?

    Please be aware all gateways including the free component hsodbc up to release 10.2 have been desupported by 15th of Marcg 2008 and customers should use the follow up products.
    The follow up product of TG4MSQL is Database gateway for MS SQl Server v11 and the follow up product of HSODBC is Database gateway for ODBC V11. The V11 gateway are certified with older Oracle database - but you might apply a gateway compatibility patch to the Oracle database release.
    There are a lot of differences between DG4MSQL (TG4MSQL) and DG4ODBC (HSODBC):
    - DG4MSQL supports many more functions it can directly map to SQl Server equivalents - DG4ODBC only suppors a few functions it can directly map to the equivalenst of a foreign database and all other functions are post processed. Post processing means ALL records from the remote table are fetched into the Oracle database and the result is then processed locally. Depending on the amount of data in the foreign table it might take a while
    - DG4MSQL can call remote stored procedures
    - DG4MSQL can participate in distributed transactions. This for example allows you to pass data changes in an Oracle table directly in the same transaction to the SQL Server side using triggers. Or you can also use STREAMS to replicate data between both databases.

  • Oracle Messaging Gateway vs. Oracle Procedural Gateway

    What is difference between Oracle Messaging Gateway for IBM MQSeries and Oracle Procedural Gateway for IBM MQSeries? Which one is the best solution for IBM WebSphere MQ integration from architecture design point of view? Does anyone have any documentation on comparing Oracle Messaging Gateway for IBM MQSeries with Oracle Procedural Gateway for IBM MQSeries, for example, pros and cons etc?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Dear Yang!
    I have the same problem considering the two possibilities to connect ibm with oracle...
    Did you get some useful information or do you have some experience now? If yes could you please update the post!

  • Problem about using Oracle Form 6i to connect Oracle Database 10g express.

    Sorry to interrupt all of you.
    I have encountered a problem about using Oracle Form 6i to connect Oracle Database 10g express.
    As I would like to
    I use Oracle Net8 Easy Config to create a connection.
    According to "tnsnames.ora", the paramater of connection is as follows;
    XE =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 127.0.0.1)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = XE))
    Unfortunately, when I use Oracle Net8 Easy Config to test the connection, an error message is prompted as follows:
    Connecting....
    The test did not succeed.
    ORA-03106: fatal two-task communication protocol error
    There may be an error in the fields entered
    or the server may not be ready for a connection.
    You can check the server and retry, or continue.
    After I google it, I still have no idea how to solve the problem. I would like to ask, could anyone mind providing some hints or solution to address the issues.
    Thanks for your assistance in advance.

    I don't believe the Net8 Easy Config (NEC) will create a compatible entry in the tnsnames.ora. I have Forms 6i running successfully against a 10g Express database, but I did not use the NEC - I created the entry myself. Here is the entry I use:
    XE=
      (DESCRIPTION=
        (ADDRESS=
          (PROTOCOL=TCP)
          (HOST=<<servername or IP address>>)
          (PORT=1521)
        (CONNECT_DATA=
          (SERVER=dedicated)
          (SERVICE_NAME=XE)
      )Hope this helps,
    Craig B-)

  • How to run exe file using oracles procedure (ASAP) ?

    i am finding difficulties in running an exe file using an oracle procedure.I need this for a pure .NET application

    I want the solution for both,An Oracle stored procedure cannot generally run an executable on the client machine. Stored procedures run on the server and have no access to your client machine. You could potentially do something convoluted like run a web server on the client with an ASP page that called the executable and have the stored procedure make a UTL_HTTP call to the ASP page, but that's generally not an option.
    If the executable is on the server and it's only available as an executable, you could write a Java stored procedure that called out to the command line and invoked the executable (assuming the operating system user running the Oracle database has permission to do so). If the Oracle database is on Windows and you've got 10.2, you may also be able to write a .Net stored procedure that would do the same sort of thing.
    If you can expose the functionality as a DLL, a more elegant solution would be to use an external procedure.

  • Error using Oracle Database Gateway for DRDA

    Hello All,
    We're encountering issues while trying to query a table using a db link to DB2 database.
    We are running oracle 11g R1 on windows and we have DB2 installed on the box. We've installed database gateway for DRDA also on the same box. • Crystal Report That Uses Stored Procedure Errors when connecting to the DB

    We had developed reports a few years ago, including one that calls a Stored Procedure on an iSeries AS400 DB2 database.  We upgraded our environments to Crystal Reports 2008 and BO XI 3.1.  Now, the existing report that previously ran in the old environment is not running (note that the other SQL-based reports work without a problem, only this one which uses a store procedure is not working).  I downloaded the report into my local Crystal Reports designer and tried to run it from there and I got the following error message:
    ======
    Failed to retieve data from the database.
    Details: ADO Error Code: 0x
    Source Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers
    Description: [IBM][iSeries Access ODBC Driver] Statement violates access rule:  Connection is set to read only.
    SQL State: 37000
    Native Error: [Database Vendor Code: 30186 ]
    ======
    {CALL "<database>"."<library>"."RELEASEDNOTINVOICE"({d '2010-03-01'})}
    This call will still work from on a SQL client running on a JDBC connection.  Is there some problem with the new verion of BO and Crystal Reports with using the iSeries ODBC driver?

    ...my issue was resolved by setting the ODBC.INI registry entry for AllowProcCalls from 0 to 1.

    Can anyone tell me how to acces the Oracle wallet from my Java application without using the thin or oci drivers?

    No answer was found for this, we ended up using an OCI driver for the connection to the wallet. Code (in java) was as follows for reference:#
    private static Connection walletconn() throws Exception{
    String url = "jdbc:oracle:oci:/@DATABASE";
    OracleDataSource ods = new OracleDataSource();
    ods.setURL(url);
    Connection conn = ods.getConnection();
    return connl;

  • How to use Oracle Procedures with Servlet page

    Hi all
    I'm working on Servlet pages and I need to insert and select some records from Oracle database but it has to be done by calling some already written Procedures. I've never really used them before so I'm little lost. I know where the queries are used it'll be Procedures but what is the syntax for it.Can anyone put me in right direction please.
    Thanks

    Just google it. You will find lots of examples. Here are some :

  • How to connect sqlserver use oracle sql developer?

    I created a non-oracle location connection in owb and can load data from sqlserver to warehouse. Now, I want to use sqlplus or sqldeveloper to connect sqlserver directly, But I got this error message"ora-03135:connection lost contact".
    How can I connect sqlserver in sqldeveloper or sqlplus?
    Thanks

    Hi Napo,
    SQLDeveloper can migrate to oracle, browse sqlserver and run and display results from single statements.
    I have not seen "ora-03135:connection lost contact" have you set up sqlserver for tcp/ip connection, checked the port is open (and not blocked by, for example, firewalls) and used the jtds driver to connect SQLDeveloper to sqlserver?
    Note that "ora-03135:connection lost contact" is an oracle error and does not seem related to sqlserver.
    Oracle also has heterogenous gateway products which may be useful

  • SQLPLUS*  vs.  PL/SQL using Oracle Gateway

    Hi,
    I have an existing database link (LU) in ORACLE (v 8.1.6.3.0) which connects to a remote RDB-database using Oracle Transparent Gateway. The database link is public and looks like this:
    OWNER DB-LINK HOST
    PUBLIC LU.WORLD tg4rdblu
    I can get data from any table in that remote database if I for example type this in SQLPLUS*:
    SQL> SELECT * FROM EMBTYP_TAB@LU;
    However If I use the same code in a PL/SQL block, I get the following error code:
    declare
    wc_dummy varchar2(10);
    BEGIN
    select emb_typ into wc_dummy from embtyp_tab@lu;
    END;
    ORA-06550: row 3, column 38:
    PLS-00201: identifier 'EMBTYP_TAB@LU' must be declared
    ORA-06550: row 3, column 4:
    PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
    Please, help me!

    You can't insert to a view.
    SQL> show user
    USER is "A"
    SQL> select count(*) from scott.emp ;
      COUNT(*)
            14
    1 row selected.
    SQL> create or replace view emp_view as select * from scott.emp ;
    View created.
    SQL> select count(*) from emp_view ;
      COUNT(*)
            14
    1 row selected.
    SQL> insert into emp_view(empno) values (1900) ;
    1 row created.
    SQL> select count(*) from emp_view ;
      COUNT(*)
            15
    1 row selected.
    SQL>The above shows that it is possible to do DML on a local view. And the below example shows DML on a remote object using a local view:
    SQL> show user
    USER is "A"
    SQL> create database link remote.world connect to scott identified by tiger using 'ORA817DBA.WORLD' ;
    Database link created.
    SQL> select count(*) from [email protected] ;
      COUNT(*)
            14
    1 row selected.
    SQL> create or replace view emp_view as select * from [email protected] ;
    View created.
    SQL> select count(*) from emp_view ;
      COUNT(*)
            14
    1 row selected.
    SQL> insert into emp_view(empno) values (1900) ;

  • SQL query against tables on MS SQL Server and Oracle using Oracle BI

    Hi All
    I have two databases Oracle and MS SQL Server. I want to write a query statement which will retrieve data from both databases and publish this data into one report. That is I want to join/merge data from tables in both database into one report with one SQL Statement something like:
    Select o.F1,o.F2, m.F1,m.F2
    from
    table@oracleServer o,
    table@microsoftSQLServer m
    where o.F1=m.F1;
    Can Oracle BI Publisher do this?
    Basically I want to query simultaneously two heterogeneous data sources in one SQL statement. Is there such a tool? I don't want to build a warehouse by moving data from SQL Server into Oracle or vice-versa. I don't want to duplicate data. I want to be able to query data at its source via 1 SQL statement.
    How would one go about doing such a thing?
    Many Thanks
    Kubilay.

    Hi Matt and Thomas
    Many thanks for your replies.
    Yes I have to do the join. Even worse I have to write an Aggregate query like this!
    Select o.F1,o.F2, m.F1,m.F2, count(*)
    from
    table@oracleServer o,
    table@microsoftSQLServer m
    where o.F1=m.F1
    group by o.F1,o.F2, m.F1,m.F2;
    These are 2 different systems (hardware & software) which actually do the same job, they produce transactions for a common business entity. Kind of, both sell tickets for the same ABC ferry company.
    I can not put them side by side on the dashboard, as I need to aggregate the data and present it maybe in a Oracle BI Report for Accounting and Financial reconciliation purposes.
    The truth is, as it is. I can't change it, is too late.
    I have to device a way to harvest both systems as they are. I don't want to move around data. I thought looking at Oracle BI I could write SQL against multiple Data Sources. I am struggling to find a way. As it seems that it can "SQL query" 1 data source at a time.
    I have been hinted on another forum (OracleTURK) to use Oracle Transparent Gateways and Generic Connectivity. http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14232/toc.htm
    Shame, I have to pay licenses for OWB and Oracle Transparent Gateways. I thought DB vendors can do better. Why do I have to pay to access the other 50% of the market.
    I can understand the performance implications this might have. Because of it I might even be forced at the end to move data (ETL) into a separate database, slice it into partitions and manage it that way. Pitty because currenlty I only need one report out of these systems but seems like will be dear to get.
    Thank you for all your help.
    Kubilay

  • How is the performance of Oracle Teradata Gateway?

    Hi,
    We need to speed up the Teradata extraction and load to Oracle tables on HPUX. The total volume tops about 200GB. Will using Oracle Teradata Gateway help data transfer and load perfomance? Currently we download first from teradata and then load using SQLLOADER.
    Thanks.

    You could even run Windows natively and still run your VM servers.
    I have seen reports and such on MacRumors and elsewhere - run Windows natively as well as VMs (can also do testing and run Mavericks in a VM under Mavericks)
    The fast internal PCIe-SSD, plus 6 or 8 cores, and 32-64GB RAM. Of course for $5,000 for 8-core, some Thunderbolt storage and 32GB/64GB RAM you can buy some serious hardware.

    Hi;
    In addition to Hussein Sawwan great post Please check below link:
    http://www.di.unipi.it/~ghelli/didattica/bdldoc/A97329_03/web.902/a88894/adx17gat.htm
    From doc:
    What is XML Gateway?
    With Release 11i.4 of the Oracle e-Business Suite, Oracle XML Gateway emerges as a key component of Oracle's application integration framework. XML Gateway is a set of services that allows for easy integration with the Oracle e-Business Suite to create and consume XML messages triggered by business events. It integrates with Oracle Advanced Queuing to enqueue/dequeue a message which is then transmitted to/from the business partner via any message transport agent.
